As soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly by the owner, he sat us down and helped us plan out our stay and to give us the gist of the area. When we had early tours they would offer us boxed lunches as we would not be able to join in on the complementary breakfast (which was also really good). Rooms were spacious and very clean. Had no issues with noise as we were located about 2 blocks from the main street. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to family and friends and can't wait to stay here again.

The property is beautiful and cozy in the best possible way—very clean and thoughtfully maintained. The photos truly don’t do it justice; it’s even better in person. The hotel is also perfectly located in Santa Cruz, making it very convenient to explore the area, join tours, and enjoy nearby restaurants and attractions. It is not on the main avenue so this might be why it was a little bit cheaper than the others. We loved it! It was very charming. The pool was quite refreshing after an unbearably HOT ferry from Isabela. The owner didn't speak much English, but he gave us a printed paper with all the important information that we needed. Plus, he was very happy to wait as we translated our remaining questions with Google Translate! A large jug of water was provided in our room for drinking and brushing teeth. --and they even had a mini refrigerator! There isn't much cold water in Ecuador, so we loved having this option! He was there in the morning to help serve us our home cooked breakfast - delicious! I think we booked a double room, so the bed was a bit small for us, but we snuggled. We had a stairway to our room and a step down into the bathroom---which I was so scared I was going to wipe out in the middle of the night when I was half asleep! I highly recommend this hotel and wish we had stayed at this one for our other nights!

First off, the inn itself is so beautiful and in a wonderful location! We were able to walk everywhere in town easily and in ~10 minutes and under. The staff here were also exceptional and welcoming, and the complimentary breakfasts were lovely! Our host helped us plan a few outings and was so helpful as it was our first time to this island. From the moment we arrived, their hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable Galápagos experience. Our room was large and comfortable, providing two beds and plenty of space to relax. It included a refrigerator and ample drinking water—a thoughtful touch since the island water isn’t potable. The room struck a perfect balance of practicality and comfort, making it easy to settle in after a day of adventure. The included breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. On the morning of our early 7:00 AM ferry to Isabela, Dennis surprised us with packed box lunches so we wouldn’t miss a meal—an amazing and considerate gesture that spoke volumes about the care they put into every detail. The property itself is a visual delight, almost like stepping into a Gaudí masterpiece transported from Spain. Organic white curves echo coral formations, while splashes of turquoise mirror the surrounding Pacific waters. - Minji (10/5): A colorful hidden gem in a central location - For our first trip to the Galapagos, my two friends and I opted for the DIY style of exploring the Galapagos Islands. We wanted to stay at a place that was central to Puerto Ayora, small enough to not feel overwhelmed by tourists, and offered good recommendations for places to explore and restaurants to try. The staff at Maidith Inn delivered on all three! Maidith is a 5-10 minute walk to the busy shopping/dining scene and port from which the ferries depart, but far enough away from the busy street to be quiet at night. It had an intimate vibe, and Denis, the innkeeper for the time being, was there to greet us every morning and evening with kindness, fresh towels, and bottles of water. He provided great recommendations on restaurants to try in addition to the one-page list of dining options that Maidith had for its guests. When booking our reservation, I reached out to Maidith about some recommended places to visit on the way from the airport. For a reasonable price, they connected us with the best taxi driver who picked us up from the airport, took us to Los Gemelos, took us to Frontier Galapagos, where we saw land tortoises and hiked to/from the lava tunnels, and took us to the hotel. This taxi driver was incredibly kind and professional, and we ended up using his services two or three more times during our stay. As a plus, the daily breakfast is fresh and healthy. If traveling alone or with a small group, Maidith Inn could be the perfect option!

I finally reached someone via whats app who informed that the driver must have left as our flight was delayed. I grabbed a taxi myself. Check in and office was managed by their caretaker (no english), and although nice, limited communication. I guess ok as I had made activity plans on my own. Locked gate (we did not know that the second key was the gate key). Clean room with good ac. No working locks on the windows. No secondary interior lock for the room. About three blocks off the main area, which was dark and deserted. Would not return.

I could not be more complimentary about the accommodations, location, and staff. The room was clean and cozy. The location, just far enough away from the main drag to be quiet, but an easy few minutes walk to be in the thick of things along the tourist stretch of Puerto Ayora. And the careful attention to detail, helpfulness, and downright friendliness of owner Juan Carlos and his staff was outstanding. (Oh, and did I mention the breakfasts? Each day, a new treat, made while we sipped on coffee and juice and planned our day.) I would (and will) recommend this place to anyone heading to the Galapagos.

Juan Carlos treats his guests like family and was available for anything we needed. I highly recommend this hotel.

When we arrived, he helped us get our bearings of the town, recommended restaurants other guests enjoyed, and made himself completely available to help with our stay. He also helped us arrange tours -- everyone in the Galapagos seems to work exceedingly hard to make guest experiences great. We felt completely safe and entrusted Juan Carlos to handle cash payments on our behalf for tours. We enjoyed cooling off in the evenings in the small outdoor shower and pool. The hotel is in a quiet area but completely walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Highly recommend, wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

The hotel is back from the Main Street which made it nice and quiet, but is was still walkable. Breakfast was very tasty with a great selection. Room was clean and cool, with our own filtered water cooler. I would recommend. The peer with the water taxis are about a 10 min walk or the owner offered to get us a taxi, but we preferred the walk.

- Benji (5/5): Not my taste - The room itself has a TV & close to the town center. The room is clean. There is a pool, but I have not tried it. It is possible to buy tours at the hotel. The hotel owner is very nice and friendly. The WiFi is slow, but works. The furniture inside the room is dated back from the 1960'ies, it is not really charming to have old used furniture. There is no USB sticks in the room. The price is heavily overrated. The owner charge extra if I pay the room with visa card, which is not good, since there is no price transparency for the price agreement in according to booking.com and reality. The hotel style is not my taste. The sound isolation is bad, the person living above me, was very noisy, and this is not ideal for me to stay in. In other word, I wont book this hotel in the future, there are other hotels in the town that can provide much more service / modern and with a bit lower price. I haven't tried their breakfast yet. I was not super happy with the lunch box, I requested couple of sandwiches, but the hotel owner made only one dry sandwich.

Our Penguin Suite was wonderfully relaxing. Comfortable beds, super clean, and fresh and airy. We had a little fridge and plenty of drinkable water. The bathroom was small, but very functional. The staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful in arranging trips and transportation. A wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt and eggs were served every morning, and we had several conversations with Juan and his lovely wife, learning about the island and their own incredible family history. Perfectly located on a quiet street a couple of blocks from the Main Street, you cannot ask for a better location.

Connected us to a tour company to plan our stay before we arrived. The owners arranged our airport picks-tour of the highlands/turtles on the way in. The driver delivered our bags while we feasted, learned about the turtles and explored the highlands. Totally recommend. The breakfast were fresh and wonderful. Two block walk to all the restaurants and very close to port-completely recommend!

I would only stay here every time I come back to the Galapagos. The hotel was an oasis from the town, it was quiet and offered a nice pool to cool down in after a day of activities. The hosts could not have been more helpful; they connected us with transportation, activities, restaurants, and even medical care. Always available, informative, and we’re always looking out for me. They supplied lots of free safe drinking water, and our room even had a fridge. The inn itself is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and in an excellent location in Puerto Ayora. We could walk to everything. By far one of the best hotels I've ever been privileged enough to stay at. The gorgeous building, beautiful colors, and breathtaking interior have a wow factor! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, and they are so warm and attentive! Their recommendations helped make my first time in the Galapagos unforgettable. Highly recommend this beautiful & welcoming stay!

The location is in a quiet area of town so you will get a better nights rest, each room is different so its like staying at a B&B rather than a stale hotel room. The best part is your host, Juan Carlos is an excellent host and his hospitality is a credit to his family. He made us feel right at home and very comfortable.

Breakfast was included and is very good, usually consisting of an egg dish, fruit, yogurt, rolls, coffee. The ambience is very pleasant, although the room was lacking in some details: not enough cabinet/dresser space, the bathroom sink had only cold water, no cabinet at the sink, the only outlet in the bathroom was on a wall with no handy shelves to put anything on.

- langman66 (10/5): Unforgettable Stay at Hotel Maidith: A Gem in the Galapagos - Maidith – We miss you already! The Galapagos Islands are a magical and unique place. So is Hotel Maidith. The Mediterranean beauty is a feast for the eyes. The stonework and mosaic tile adorn the building and courtyard. The pool is refreshing and surrounded by beautiful flowers. There are hammocks and benches to enjoy the decorative lights in the evening. Each room has been designed to be completely unique. In fact, they are a name, not numbered. We stayed in Gaviota, which had a queen bed on the upper level, a large twin on the middle level, and two large twins on the bottom level. Each “level” may be just a step down or half of a flight of stairs. There are turrets and fanciful windows. Each room conveniently offers filtered water and a minifridge. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the air conditioning is very refreshing. However, the best feature is the owner, Juan Carlos. His mother, María Edith, for whom the hotel is named, began building this boutique hotel just a short walk from wonderful restaurants, the Charles Darwin Research Center, and the passenger pier, with careful attention to detail. She is beloved by her community for her work to expand services to Santa Cruz. Her son, Juan Carlos, has recently renovated the hotel. He has years of experience in the tourism industry, and it shows. He greeted us upon arrival with maps, recommendations (including discounts to local restaurants and shops), and tips. He checked on us constantly to be sure we were happily enjoying our stay. His staff are very accommodating and friendly. They cook and amazing breakfast (included), which we enjoyed on the pool terrace. They are happy to help with transportation arrangement, too. We were sad to leave the Galapagos and Maidith, but look forward to returning some day. When we do, we know exactly where we will stay again!

- brsobes13 (10/5): The perfect place to stay on Santa Cruz - This was our first stop on our Galapagos Islands adventure and it really set the tone for a "beyond my bucket list dreams" trip of a lifetime. We were welcomed upon arrival by the owners/operators who immediately made us feel like family. They are kind, warm, knowledgeable and so pleasant to chat and spend time with during our stay. The hotel definitely stands out from the other with it's unique Grecian design features and artistic vibe. It is a few blocks up from the main street which is the perfect location for quiet but accessible. The small pool was also such a nice way to cool off after a long day of fun activities and the homemade daily breakfast and fresh baked bread was a perfect way to start the day. During the booking process, all of my question were answered through email replies with a day and it really helped us decide on where to stay and what room to choose. The rooms are great! We had three adults in our room and it was really spacious and had really sweet details that made it special. We only stayed two nights but could easily have enjoyed staying much longer just for the lovely hospitality. Thank you for setting the tone for our amazing Galapagos adventure!

I Can think of nothing to critisise the Inn or staff about. It was so quiet, comfortable and hassle-free staying there. We had some lovely chats with both our hosts during our stay. If we ever return to the island we will automatically be staying with them again.

The breakfasts set us up for the day, kids were happy! Air conditioner worked great. The owner had thought of everything—- hair dryer, clothes zip line to hang wet bathing suits, beach towels ( you will need to ask the staff for them). We highly recommend booking your stay here!

- Edward (10/5): - I recently had the pleasure to spend three nights at the Maidith Galapagos Inn. The property is beautifully decorated and has a nice little pool. The location was very convenient and was a short walk to restaurants, shops, the ferry terminal and the Charles Darwin Center. Our room was clean and well appointed: filled with the thoughtful touches that make traveling life much easier (power outlets built in to the bedside lamps, clothesline in the shower, etc…). Juan Carlos, the manager, was amazing! He gave us many useful tips on how to navigate the island, great restaurant recommendations and helpful advice on which activities to do. Also, he went above and beyond to try to help us locate a non locally available cream for my son’s eczema. He is truly a gem and goes out of his way to make you feel at home. In short, this is a great property to stay on if you are spending time in Santa Cruz!

The hotel is an interesting piece of architecture that according to the owner's son is inspired by Gaudi, Santorini and the whimsy of his mother. It is well maintained and well located in a quieter section of Puerto Ayora , just a block or two from Darwin Ave. Juan Carlos couldn't have been more delightful and helpful. He had great diinner recommendations, information on the area and even medication for stomach troubles. Great breakfast. Highly recommended. We would definitely stay there again.

His staff was kind and helpful as well. The breakfast was plentiful and the rooms were beautiful. Clean, eco-friendly, and equipped with everything we could need. This stay was a 10/10 and we can not possibly recommend this hotel more. The location was close to everything we needed and Juan Carlos and his staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this property.

Juan Carlos was so helpful and hospitable offering advice and recommendations, making taxi reservations, etc. The room and premises were clean and well maintained. Everything we wanted to do was within a 20 minute walk. We walked to the beaches at the Charles Darwin Research Center, to the pier where you catch the water taxi to Tortuga Bay Beach, the fish market, and many shops and restaurants. I would certainly come back!

- Heavymetalchickadee (10/5): Hidden Gem in Puerto Ayora! - Booking places online is always a little nerve-wracking but Juan Carlos and his staff proved we made the right choice before we even arrived. He was extremely helpful in pointing us in the right direction of tour operators, restaurant choices, places to visit, and so kind when my husband fell ill. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful and on days we had early trips, he made sure to pack us food and bring it to us the night before! The Pelikanos room was spacious and clean, we felt completely safe, and had all the amenities mentioned plus some. It was a very short walk to town and the distance kept it quiet at night but you don't feel isolated. There are restaurants and little markets all around so finding something to eat or drink is easy and the inn has a fully stocked fridge in the lobby if you don't feel like leaving the property. I'm not sure you could find a better place to stay with nicer people at this price in Puerto Ayora. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family!

We started our stay with a list of restaurant recomendaciones from him and every one we ate at was delicious. The rooms have everything you need, the outdoor common space is very cute, the pool was a nice addition, we came and relaxed in the pool several days are a hot day of outings in the Galapagos, and it’s a short walk to everything but pretty secluded and quiet too.
