Guest Reviews
- Andrew (10/5): A very comfortable and pleasant stay - Quiet location, clean, and comfortable room, and very nice pool.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): A tranquil hotel in a super location - Our room was very clean and a good size . we also had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool .
Kalgani the owner. was lovely ,very helpful and cooked a very good breakfast .
She even got up at 4.30am to make sure our taxi had turned. up.
The other ladies were very friendly too.
The hotel is in a super location. just a few minutes walk from the restaurants, bars and beach .
A little oasis with lots of nature within the hotel.
I loved watching a humming bird , eagle , peacock and a monkey from the sunbed. Bliss.
I loved swimming in the pool too which was a bonus no complaints
- Kay (7/5): Good - Everything was clean and comfortable. Power went out 3 times. Last time it was just in my room and I had to change rooms after returning to go to bed. I did get some help with my things but it was a bit of a pain and the help seemed a bit reluctant.........
- Wayne (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely stay, the room was as described with A/C, fridge and hot water and quite spacious with a small table and chairs as well as a small terrace with a table and two chairs. The pool was lovely for a refreshing dip. The location is very good, only a short walk to restaurants, cafes and the beach. The host was also very nice and available to solve any issues and organise a taxi for us when we left. Nothing of note
- Velislav (6/5): Pleasant - Only the pool... We were not greeted with a smile upon arrival. First encounter with the evil adult woman... She put us in a room where the air conditioning was not working, it was terribly hot and stuffy, and my wife is pregnant... In the middle of the night we had to move first to the next room, and then to the next room until she found a room with working air conditioning. We carried all our luggage from room to room ourselves... It turned out that they knew about the problems with the air conditioning, but they put a pregnant woman in a super hot and stuffy room... The room they moved us to had absolutely no view, even though we had paid for a room with a pool view... The breakfast was not tasty... The only good thing was the pool. I would not recommend the place to anyone...
- Ruxandra (3/5): Poor - NO hot water, but this was the most expensive hotel in our Sri Lanka trip. The hotel did not assist with the luggage
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely big clean room with good air conditioning. Room cleaned every day. Pool area was like a green oasis away from the craziness of the main street. Owner was friendly and polite. Only 5-10 minute walk to the beach and all of the bars/restaurants, but really quiet at night Balcony was not very private. Curtains did not fully close
- Izzy (10/5): Great location and hotel - Great location, really close to Shady Lane which had great breakfast/lunch food
Pool is really nice and clean
The rooms are very nice and clean with great air con
The staff are all super friendly and helpful, we were given cake on New Years Day Nothing, it was all great!
- Marlene (8/5): Very good - Very nice stay, the location is well located and clean, close to the beach and very quiet. The hostess is very much welcoming and helpful. Staff is friendly.
- Lucie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great - nice and clean room, tasty breakfast, very nice pool and personal was always very helpful. Thank you for everything and hope to see you next year again :) -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional stay! Reccomend to everyone! - Spacious room with AC, comfy bed and a good shower! Tea and coffee available alongside daily housekeeping. Super close to the beach, supermarkets and some gorgeous cafes. Friendly helpful staff. I loved everything about my stay and could have easily stayed a week (or even two) it was perfect thank you for everything xx No complaints
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - The pool was especially lovely and well maintained. The rooms were really spacious and everything was clean. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Only thing we would have liked was a mosquito net but it was a necessity.
- James (3/5): Rude female owner who has no clue how to speak to customers - Rooms are a decent size and my room looked out over the pool. Air con worked well. Nice pool. The owner/manager’s attitude and manner is simply atrocious. She has no idea whatsoever how to talk to customers and is sour faced and openly rude. Service with a grimace rather than a smile, and everything seemed like a problem despite talking politely to her. The room was generally tired with paint peeling off the ceiling, no shower screen, and bare wires in bedroom and bathroom. My duvet cover smelled really bad and I politely asked if I could have another one but she blankly refused saying there was no staff until the following day. I then suggested I could remake the bed if she just went and got one but was rudely refused and told I’d have to wait until the following day. I was there 4 nights and asked one morning whether I could have breakfast, to which she grimaced again and said I could go and ask the staff upstairs, making out I was being difficult in asking! I went elsewhere for breakfast due to the nature of the reply. One evening she lit a fire bowl in the reception area which completely smoked and stank the whole hotel out. I realise this was a form of prayer, but it really wasn’t conducive to a hotel atmosphere! Not a nice lady. Avoid.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivian (8/5): Honestly - Near the beach pool after a long day Noise from loud speaker in street
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Linara (6/5): Overall, nice and clean hotel to stay at with a great location. However, not worth the price - - Clean room & bathroom
- Great location
- Comfy bed
- Friendly staff
- Nice pool
- Good Aircon - No hot water
- Breakfast started at 0830 which is quite late and during check in, we were told breakfast was 0800-1000 which wasn’t true and made us late for other activities as we had plans for 0900
- Wifi connection was poor
- Didn’t really look like the pictures online
- Basic western breakfast
- Check out time was 10:30 which felt very early
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Clean rooms and bathroom fridge and kettle in the room
- Jennifer (8/5): Very nice little hotel. I would be happy to stay there again. - Quiet and clean hotel in a good location. Wonderful little courtyard with a nice pool. Hostess and staff. Very kind people.
- Sam (9/5): A great budget stay tucked away in the back street of Mirissa - a little oasis! - An excellent budget stay in the heart of Mirissa - away from
The noise of the main road and busy ‘strip’ but only an 8 minute walk to the beach and minutes away from some great restaurants and bars! (And the brilliant Shady Lane is only one minute away for the best coffee and brunches in town)
The rooms are basic but have everything you need for a comfortable stay including good a/c, large bed and plenty of room
The ladies who run the Holaa are delightful and very helpful in organising taxis, excursions etc I felt the laundry service was expensive - 3 x cost of any other service we have used in Sri Lanka - that said everything was returned very quickly and nicely pressed
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms are spacious and clean. Have a fridge, kettle, hot water showers, and great AC! Little outdoors area to yourself is wonderful. The pool area is perfect, relaxed and a great pool, plenty of umbrellas if you want shade.
Staff are beyond delightful and accommodating. Did our laundry for us, booked our whale trip, nothing is a problem.
Loved it so much we're still here two days after we should have left!
- Christopher (3/5): Strange place that has some issues to sort out. - The pool was nice, the staff were friendly to me (but not everyone in our group). We were able to change rooms quite easily when the first room was not up to standards. The area is quite nice with some good places to eat nearby but also quiet and far enough away from the noise of Mirissa. Our initial room smelled very strongly like mould. It was disgusting and also probably bad for our health. The staff treated European guests much better than Asian guests... and the bosses were extremely rude to other staff and to our driver.
- Katie (7/5): Budget-friendly option close to the beach - The location was excellent - just a short walk to the beach. Far enough away from the busy main street so it was quiet at night. Some cute cafes just a stones through - Coco Mama and Shady Lane. The lady who runs the place was really friendly. The room was very clean - they cleaned it everyday. The bathroom ended up a bit flooded anytime you showered - other places I stayed in had the water rakes to push it down towards the drain, which are helpful. No warm water. Looks better in the photos, especially the pool which no one seemed to be using. They could definitely make some small touches to make it more appealing.
- Stefan (7/5): Is decent…after all, value for money! - Friendly staff No hot water and very poor wi-fi, sometimes the power off
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Debra (9/5): Friendly and warm welcome-the ladies who look after you-really look after you. The lunch was an unanticipated treat - Friendly and informal hotel-tucked away but easy to access all needed and the beach Bed was a bit hard-
- Jadeamy (8/5): Very good - Great location, friendly staff. They made a special breakfast for New Year’s Day. Only a 7 minute walk to the beach
- Daan (10/5): I had an amazing stay at holaaa. The staff was wonderful, great hospitality. The room was clean and nice. - Everything No comment
- Victoria (7/5): Good - Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating.
The place was very clean and location was ideal. Bed was very comfy and there was tea and coffee available for the mornings. The pictures showing the outdoor area are quite dated. Overall the place could use a bit of TLC. Our room was ok if not a bit basic and the bathroom door didn't close.
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Clean, relaxing and great location! - Really nice place with comfortable and clean rooms and lots of nice details added by the attentive hosts. Very friendly and accommodating owners and the beach is a five minute walk so you get peace and quiet but still very close to the bars, restaurants & beach. Nice pool and relaxing atmosphere.
- Anonymous (10/5): Nice visit to Marissa. - Very nice staff who did everything to make the staying super. Really good breakfast was served even if we missed breakfast hours. Nice pool. Good beds, we even overslept because the beds were so nice. Transportation from airport to hotel worked perfectly. The lady in the reception very helpful as well as the rest of the staff. We are a family of four with two sons (16 and 6 years) and the hotel was perfect for all of us.
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms are spacious and immaculatly clean. The beds are super comfortable. The ladies that run this place are so lovely and friendly. And the pool is an added bonus 😊
- Joseph (9/5): Really sweet and welcoming people 🩷, anything we needed was attended to - The owners were very kind and greeted us and our taxi driver with fresh juice when we arrived. Location was convenient and quiet. Near to a great breakfast spot and walking distance from beaches. Quiet area to sleep in at night and easy to come and go as we pleased. I needed stronger wifi for work the last day of my stay, and she was able to accommodate. Also the pool was nice for quick dips. Nothing really
- Minicana (10/5): Exceptional - The Lady who is owner of the Hotel was really kind and helpful. We really enjoyed in swimming pool and relaxing in the garden. The room was really comfortable and clean. We enjoyed in our stay there. The location is quite good, close to the main road, but it is quiet. The stay here exceeded our expectations.
- Giovanni (10/5): Exceptional - The property itself it’s gorgeous! very close to the beach and main road, so anything you need you will find it! Staff very polite, nice and helpful. The breakfast and the fresh juice very tasty. The lady owner was so so cute! Definitely we will come back. Very recommend!
- Ammar (6/5): Clean rooms and nice pool - Comfortable bed, clean room, calm atmosphere, and nice pool. The room was quite small for our family, but I assume it's intended for one or two guests. The breakfast was quite poor.
- Luke (8/5): relaxing stay great staff - lovely staff good fun! nice pool! well connected and organised trips for us. great stay it was all good
- Leri (10/5): Exceptional - Had a quick Nice Stay In Mirisa, Location is Really Nice with all the major sea Sides Around. Rooms Were pretty Clean and Air Conditions Been Working Smoothly. Overall Great Value For Price.
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Marijon (10/5): Exceptional - Nice host, made good traditional food for us.
- Hasi (1/5): Bad -
