• Ann (9/5): - Although rooms were fairly basic, the owners are very welcoming almost as if a homestay. Kitchen facilities good. Like anything near Jaffa street and especially Zion Square, it can be quite noisy at night.

• Imrie (4/5): Room was basic, more hostel than hotel in concept. I wouldn’t stay there again - The room had double glazing on the door to the balcony which reduced outside noise No breakfast. No coffee or tea in the room. Shower door was broken. We seperated the two single beds and found the floor between the beds was dirty.

Kon ook een paar uurtjes langer blijven op de dag van vertrek.Heerlijk plekje en kon zittend op het balkon genieten van de muziek op het plein bij de Ben Yehuda. Ook schone keuken met veel faciliteiten. Ik heb er geen last van gehad, maar het pand naast het hotel is in verbouwing.

Встречает невероятно обаятельный Эли, действительно как гостей. Хорошо говорит по-русски, excellent English. Номер маленький, но уютный и чистый, белье и полотенца свежее, мыло и гель для душа присутствовали, сантехника исправная. Есть общая кухня с чаем, кофе (растворимым и молотым), сахаром и молоком. Есть кондиционер и вай-фай. Мы остались в восторге прежде всего от редкого нынче душевного отношения Эли к гостям!

• Sheila Valencia (10/5): - I stayed at the Hotel Kaplan for a three week study program which was a 15 minute walk away. The rooms are clean, comfortable and provide you with the essentials, nothing more. While not an upscale hotel, the owners Eli and Nathan are very welcoming and are definitely part of the experience of staying there. A kitchen is available if you want to do light cooking. The rooms include a small refrigerator which is great for keeping drinks cool. The hotel is off Jaffa St. directly across from Zion Park and is close to transportation, many restaurants and tourist attractions. I highly recommend it and hope to return. NOTE: The hotel is in an old building which has several steep flights of stairs to reach the two floors. There are no elevators. This is not necessarily a problem, if you are young and strong enough. But if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, you may want to consider another hotel, sadly. Todah rabah, Eli and Nathan!

• Lidia (9/5): Lidia - I am the Spanish girl, Lidia, who visited Jerusalem for Holy Week to see everything related to Christianity (Holy Sepulchre, Place of Ascension in the Mount of Olives, Pater Noster Church, Christ's Prison, Stations of the Cross, etc) and also the Jewish neighborhood with things like the Ark of Covenant, King David's Tower, Kotel, etc. The owner was a very kind Jewish man who treated me very well knowing that I am a Christian. It was a pleasure to share experiences with lovely Jews who helped me in different circumstances in Jerusalem!! About the hotel, I got a good room with a little fridge, comfortable bed and a big bathroom. It was also clean. I will repeat in the future for sure and I send greetings to the owner of the hotel!! • Denis (10/5): Overall, my stay at Kaplan Hotel was super comfortable, convenient - Kaplan Hotel is 100% worth every penny. The staff are super helpful and respectful, and the check-in was really smooth and easy. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The vibe of the place is super chill and welcoming—perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring. The location is amazing—just a 15-minute walk to the Old City and close to tons of shops, restaurants, and public transport. You can get pretty much anywhere in the city without any hassle. The price is very reasonable for what you get, especially considering how central it is. The room cleaning service was excellent—everything was always spotless when I came back. Overall, a great stay and I'd totally recommend it to anyone visiting Jerusalem!

• Jasmina (7/5): Great location and balcony, but very small room and noisy construction across street (April 2025) - The room was clean, but as mentioned in other reviews, really very small. The bed was a French-style double bed, so quite tight for two people. We were lucky to have booked the room with a balcony — that really helped make the stay more enjoyable. Just keep in mind there's hardly any space to open two suitcases at once, either you move them under the bed. The bathroom has the basics, but there isn’t much room for toiletries. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water kettle. However, there is a shared kitchen on the first floor that guests can use, which is a nice touch. The host truly went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and make us happy. Be aware that there’s no elevator, so you need to be fit enough to carry your luggage up the stairs. Most importantly: there's a large construction site directly across the street right now: April 2025. We would have appreciated a heads-up about this. If you're unlucky, construction noise can start as early as 7:00 AM. Three buildings are being heavily renovated, and as long as that work continues, I’d recommend avoiding rooms on that side of the hotel.

• Jorge (10/5): Excellent - The room was very comfortable, with newly renovated bathroom and a nice French window. The owner/manager Eli is wonderful, very helpful and made me feel right at home. He invited me to freely use the kitchen and laundry facilities and provided tips as I walked around the old city. The only difficulty I had was locating the property when I first arrived nice the building has no posted property name along the main Street Jaffa. But its located close to the Jaffa and Damascus gates and the garden tomb. I would stay here again.

• Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel proprieter went out of his way to make us feel at home. We arrived early and he gave us a room to rest in, which was very kind of him to do so. The kitchen facilities had everything we needed and tea coffee milk was provided. The location was very good, with plenty of cafes shops etc and within walking distance of the Jaffa gate. Easy access to Trams and the Train and bus station about 4 stops away. If your arriving by Taxi the Ibis hotel is in the next street so you could ask to be dropped off there as Jaffa street is not accesible by taxi. The Jaffa gate is a 10 minute walk away. The Hotel in my opinion is clean and comfortable and good value for money. There are two flights of stairs if you are staying on the top floor. Which was fine for us. Just be aware there is no lift.

• Luis (4/5): Disappointing - The staff was nice and helpful. They used a cleaning product that made me get an allergic reaction. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were really thin. It's quite noisy due to the closeness to the zion square. It doest have shades for the window.
• Rene (10/5): Hotel Kaplan is a gem. - Hotel Kaplan is near the Jaffa Street tram stop. It is within a 15 minute walk to the Old City’s Jaffa Gate. Additionally, the property is near retail, restaurants, and cafes. The owners are very helpful.
