Guest Reviews
- Yvonne (9/5): -
- Yolande (8/5): Perfect for 'Cousins on Tour' who were visiting NT Kingston Lacy 15 mins away by car. - Super friendly staff and so helpful. Lovely food, reasonably priced in a very pleasantly decorated restaurant area of the pub. Beds were really comfortable. Special thanks to the Manager for going the extra mile with her help. Great full English breakfast with very tasty local sausages! One of our party came home and rebooked to stay again and explore more of the area.

- lesley (10/5): Would book the room we were upgraded to again - Upgraded room, v friendly staff, gorgeous room and massive bathroom, v generously stocked tea/coffee facilities, housekeeping, long bath, Soap and shampoo containers v high up and awkward to reach, black mould on tiles, bacon in the mornings so tough you had to pick it up by yiur fingers to bite it as you couldnt cut it
- Nick (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): - It was pleasant, friendly and well situated. Rooms were a bit tired
- Stuart (8/5): Friendly and cosy - The staff were really nice and friendly. The atmosphere is good with a country feel. As we arrived late we did not get a chance to try the evening menu but the choices looked lovely and were priced well. Nothing negative to say
- Jason (10/5): - Staff was friendly and very helpful, food was excellent
- Colin (8/5): - Both dinner and breakfast were great quality. Friendly staff and comfortable feel throughout. Exceptionally dog friendly. Inclement weather meant that the large fireplace should have been utilised but there was no fire lit until quite late and then only a flicker. This was disappointing.
- robert (8/5): Enjoyed my time at this hotel. Will be back - Was very comfortable and clean. There wasn’t anything bad
- Alexandra (9/5): Overall a gem of a stay for the price. Great food, fantastic staff. highly recommend - Staff were so friendly, they could not do enough for us. We felt so welcome. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Food was delicious and well priced. Atmosphere was friendly Room was very cold before the heating came on. It was a bit noisy as you could hear the doors and shower from the next door room.
- Prue (8/5): -
- Ruth (10/5): - The breakfast was excellent.
- jose manuel (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly . The breakfast room very clean the food was nice and hot .My bedroom was very clean the facilities in the room was great tea an coffee . complimentary biscuits and bottle water . All in all very comfortable enjoyable stay It was all good
- Louise (10/5): - Location space friendly staff well looked after clean
- Alfred (10/5): -
- Laurence (4/5): - The bedroom was large and bed comfortable. Bed maybe too large. Couldn’t get the shower to work. The bath was quite high off the ground and difficult to get in to. There should have been a handle to help you get in, there wasn’t one.
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Marcus (9/5): Great stay and we will be back - Fran the landlady is fantastic, she is really friendly and hospitable. The pub is great and we had a fantastic room for the price. I don't want to recommend too much or next time we want to stay there will be no rooms available. The mattress in room 6 has springs sticking up in it.
- Amanda (7/5): -
- Black (10/5): - As a hotel should be, friendly, and fantastic N\a
- William (6/5): Value for money but not the most comfortable bed - Friendly staff.
hearty breakfast.
location to Blandford THe lights outside the room, the noise of the road and the pillows were very uncomfortable and cheap
- Sonia (10/5): Top Notch Stay ..again! X - This hotel is wonderful 😌
The staff are amazing and the food is delicious.
The whole ambiance of the place is lovely.
Rooms are clean and fresh and tastefully decorated.
Just a lovely place to stay. There was honestly nothing to say about our stay that was negative.
- Matthew (8/5): A lovely stay & good value - Our Room was fantastic. Big Comfy bed, Bathroom was huge with Shower over bath. Room did get very warm, though we just turned down the rads, problem solved.
Staff were very friendly & helpful, though did leave us hanging a bit after dinner, with no one coming to clear our table, or ask us if wanted coffee etc, we didn't, but would have been nice, it's not like they were busy, as we were the only people in.
As for dinner it's self, superb. It was so tasty & nicely cooked, they have a great chef, hang on to him. The only real thing I can say here, was the Breakfast. Don't get me wrong, it was ok, but only ok. As we understand it, their chef doesn't do the Breakfasts.... Pity...As it was lacking, especially after a great dinner,
- Hartley SR (9/5): - All the staff were extremely good ,very helpful.
My elderly dog was allowed everywhere with us. Traffic at the busy crossroads,
Not the fault of the hotel.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Dave (10/5): Fantastic - Very pleasant helpful staff Spotless room with comfortable bed and everything you need Had an evening meal and breakfast which were both freshly cooked and tasty. Would definitely stay return
- Tom (9/5): -
- Malcolm (10/5): - Stayed here a few times for work. Great breakfast. Staff seem lovely. Nice and clean. Bar closes too early
- Chezrieper (10/5): Exceptional, clean ,cozy, great food, great rooms, great staff . Best I've stayed at in years! - This was exceptional 👏 The hotel/pub was absolutely fantastic. We loved the staff, the twin bedroom, and the food. Couldn't fault it. Highly recommended. Best I've stayed in in years! Nothing....
- Smith (10/5): Great stay - would recommend. - Staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. Breakfast options and quality was especially good! Having the pub restaurant downstairs was excellent for convenient evening meals. Food was great. NA
- Jane (10/5): Good value, great breakfast and friendly staff. -
- Nigel (8/5): Lovely - Room, bed was good. TV location strange. Food both evening and breakfast were lovely and staff great and attentive. If in area again will definitely dtay here aga8n. Tv location in room and a main light
- Michael (8/5): - Plenty of room to park as we had a van and trailer, very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast.

- Ray (9/5): -
- Johnny (8/5): - Welcoming staff, facilities well cared and cleaned
- Francis (9/5): -
- Jonathan Mark Reginald (7/5): We had a very pleasant stay and may return - Friendly staff, especially at breakfast. Quiet, spacious room and home-cooked food. Far too much raw onion in the salad (especially as it accompanied a tart with balsamic onion as one of its main ingredients!). Would be good to have some fruit available for breakfast and decaf coffee (not instant!)
- Margaret (8/5): Very enjoyable - Very comfortable, easy to find as we didn’t know the area. Very friendly staff. Great parking.
- Leon (10/5): Great all round. - This was my second stay at the Horton Inn. Excellent all round, great breakfast and Becky is a great host!
- Gaelle (9/5): -
- OLIVER DAVID (10/5): -
- Frances (5/5): - Lovely staff and great breakfast. Could have been cleaner.
- Steven (10/5): - Warm and friendly greeting. Room was nice . Food in the restaurant was hot and fresh. Great choice of breakfast. All the staff very friendly Nothing

- Doris (10/5): Overall, a wonderful stay that we would happily recommend to others. - We really enjoyed our stay at Horton. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was comfortable and perfect for our needs. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked our next visit. Everything was clean and tidy, the breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the service was consistently warm and attentive. There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like during our stay.
- Ian (10/5): Great stay - Very good staff and lovely location for countryside .. No blackout curtain so Sunrise woke us up at 6.00am.. but ok
- Mervyn (8/5): -
- robin (10/5): Nice place. Great Service. We'll be back. - Customer service was exceptional. Despite the fact that we messed them about with the booking the manager was really flexible, helpful and good-natured.
- Ian (8/5): - Great staff
Great location for our requirements
- Hilde (8/5): Nice stay in the Dorset countryside. - Lovely pub/ Inn with large comfortable rooms tastefully decorated. Great food and friendly and service minded staff. The road outside is v busy w people driving fast. We overheard all the traffic from the crossroads. This was the only drawback, the hotel is very cosy with great food and service and a lovely pub garden.
- Don (10/5): -
- Hilde (8/5): -
- Natasha (8/5): Very good -
- Molly (9/5): A successful stay at the Horton Inn - A characterful inn steeped in history and set in the English countryside. We had lovely dinner and drinks outside in the evening followed by a delicious filling breakfast the morning after. Very tentative and friendly staff. It was great seeing dogs with it being a dog-friendly accomodation! A very calming stay altogether.
- Truda (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Gritton (6/5): Served purpose - Great beer garden Very noisy road , showers need overhaul, tiling grout very poor and mouldy looking.
- Mrs (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so friendly and so helpful. Food was great and location was lovely.
- Victoria (8/5): Comfortable, clean with thoughtful touches such as bottles of water, ear plugs and chocolates - Breakfast lovely. Staff lovely. Could have done with a fan in the smaller room adjoining the main room as it was so hot but when the window was open the traffic noise was loud so I kept the window shut.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good! - Staff and food were great. The room was lovely and comfortable. The pub has a nice big outside area to sit.
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Great value for money, would stay again! - Great value, good location and good breakfast. The bedroom was very clean! Bed was comfy, water pressure was good with HOT water. The hotel was accessible after 2300 without any issue, and check in and out was quick and easy! The toilet didn't flush very well (perhaps faulty cistern), and the room was particularly hot the whole time (especially in the morning even with windows open and fan on). There was a mark on the floor. The stairs were very steep with low bannisters, but this is common with older properties. The full English breakfast wasn't particularly large, 1x sausage and 1x slice of bacon etc, with no way of adding extras
- Lois (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (7/5): Very few staff once we had finished breakfast all internal doors locked and NO staff... Very odd! - Breakfast good, location perfect. Good size bedrooms
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Stacey (2/5): It was not great - Room was really big and spacious. The room facilities were dirty, cups in the room dirty. Bath tub has hair and dirt all over it.
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Penny (5/5): Delightful staff coping with an establishment that could do with investment. - Very helpful and pleasant staff, both before arrival and during our stay. Good fish and chip supper and excellent breakfasts. The place could do with a face lift (perhaps more) and a good clean. Dirty and scruffy bedroom and shower room and tables sticky with dirt in the dining room.
- Kathy (7/5): Good - Bit noisy
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- Olivia (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Ailish (7/5): Happy with our stay - A great location for all we wanted to see and do. Yummy food in huge portions and simple but clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet as well. Lovely staff Some sticky tables, dog hair everywhere (apart from bedrooms), not a great continental selection at breakfast. The toilet in our room was temperamental
- Nicholas (9/5): We’ll need a good reason to go elsewhere, next time we’re in the area. - Everything, genuinely. Stayed twice now, and each time it’s done exactly what an English country inn should do. Hard to think of anything without being picky. Some fruit juice at breakfast would be good, and maybe some cereal, porridge, continental options. But that’s being picky.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Blackwell (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): Great value for money. Wonderful staff. Will return when we we are Dorset way again. - Breakfast was excellent. Good choices. The noisy traffic
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Horton Inn stay - Have stayed several times. Lovely, clean rooms. Excellent breakfast
- Jane (10/5): Excellent and our evening meal was good and good value - Breakfast was excellent and only a couple of miles from the relatives we were visiting, we will book again especially as you can take your dog with you.
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): A lovely welcoming hotel with great facilities - bar, restaurant, bedrooms, parking - Staff were welcoming and helpful with information.
The room was a very good size and well furnished
Good to have tea and coffee available in the room
Full English Breakfast - a range of other options available for breakfast Room was too hot for my liking so had the windows open.
Layout of en-suite - shower made narrow access to hand basin and toilet
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Price (7/5): Good - Staff were very good we were well looked after. It was unfortunate that the boiler broke down just before we arrived so no hot water but we had a discount so not too bad. Actually, having a tepid shower was surprisingly refreshing!
- Peter (5/5): Passable -
- Terance (10/5): Had a great stay over, and would definitely stay again - We had a great stay 👍🏻 To be honest it was perfect
- Jason (8/5): Tidy pub and rooms at great value - Good food
Great staff
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (7/5): Convenient comfortable stopover, very good breakfast. - Stayed as stopover on long journey. Friendly check-in. Warm bedroom. Very comfortable bed. Exceptionally smooth and lovely bedlinen. Plenty of pillows. Slept really well. Old and interesting building so a few creaks and wear and tear. Very good English breakfast and other hot breakfast options. The dated shower cubicle needs replacing and ensuite wasn't clean around flooring, skirtings and behind door. Bedroom surfaces dusty. Very noisy re banging doors and other guests until they settled for the night. Road noise in morning.
- P (10/5): Exceptional - Good choices
