Guest Reviews
- MINAKO (6/5): This is not a hotel but an apartment. - Check-in was not very smooth.
I think that I could not check in without the help of local friends.
I can not recommend it for those who are not good at English.
The facility is in a clean and convenient location.
There is a staircase at the entrance to enter this room.
It's a very steep angle.
I can not use a wheelchair.
- william (2/5): Disgusting mess of a place, not like the pictures. - Dont book here, the place is horrible, doesnt look anything like the pictures, you have to give a £250 deposit on top of paying. In a horrible part of london, no one in the businees speaks english proerly. Very difficult to deal with and only interested in your money. Disgusting mess of an apartment, no hand rails to use to walk up the stairs, big glass panals everywhere when walking in, bedrooms a mess, dirt everywhere. Dont anyone ever use thsi place.
- Shiraz (2/5): Terrible hotel for business's stay - The stay was very poor, need to climb up the narrow stairs with luggage. Also there is no proper check in facility and restricted timings which I was unaware and had not read the small print. Bathroom needs modernising and small.
- John (6/5): OK apartment, with kitchen and sofabed. - The apartment was nice. I had to meet the owners to collect a key, and the process was smooth. However, I was required to leave a £250 deposit by giving my bank card details, and they demanded to take a photo/scan of my ID and my credit card.
This process seemed rather excessive, and I was/am worried about giving so many details away.
I've never had to do this with other rooms I've booked through hotels.com.
- Heather (10/5): Good location - Nice spacious apartment
- Antoine (8/5): Appartement promener bien placé - Séjour parfait, l'endroit est tres bien placé, appartement tres fonctionnel, calme et propre
- Sally (4/5): Good location, uncomfortable room - When we booked this, we didn't realize that it was an apartment that had been converted to a "hotel." Besides the problem of taking housing units off the market, there was a short window during which we could check in (which worked for us but might not work for everyone) and checking out was a pain. We had to call them 30 minutes before we were going to come, which we did, and then when we got there we had to call again and wait another 10 minutes. The woman who showed us around the apartment was thorough, so that was a plus. When we checked out, I asked if we could just leave the key but they said no, I had to call and someone would come. It took 30 minutes for them to answer to phone (started trying to call at 9 when we had to be out by 10:30, so not outrageously early) and were told it would be 20 minutes before someone could come. When I said we needed to be somewhere, they told me just to leave the key. Ugh, we could have saved ourselves half an hour if they had just let us do that in the first place.
The place was clean except for the silverware was dirty. We didn't eat there except for ice cream one night so I can't comment on the rest of the dishes.
We booked this because they claimed there were beds for 4. The bed in the bedroom was fine. The couch which was the second bed was so uncomfortable that my kids chose to sleep on the floor instead. The curtains in the front room didn't close and there was a streetlight outside so the light shined in all night.
- Mary (4/5): This is a flat, not a hotel - I was under the impression that all rooms on Hotels.com were hotels, but this is not. This is someone renting out their flat. The trouble is, that means you can only check in between 3 and 6, can't leave bags and go explore, and have no hotel amenities. That would be fine if it were priced reasonably, but it was over $350 per night. Also, these restrictions were not made clear when we booked. The apartment itself was clean and attractive, but there wasn't even any toilet paper. You have to call half an hour in advance and wait for someone to bring a key while sitting awkwardly on a scruffy street corner. Then, they asked for lots of personal information and demanded an additional 250 pound deposit which is uncomfortable to give a total stranger - especially when you were expecting to be in a hotel. The apartment really was clean and attractive, just not what we thought we were booking. And, for the price, we expected more services.
- andrew (6/5): good and bad - these apartments and not a hotel so no reception, they have strict check in and check out times and charge extra if you come late or early which we didnt know about. we got there early were quoted £50 to check in, i thought this ridiculous we just wanted to drop our bags and go,they reduced it to £25, i still complained and eventually got it free, there were 4 of us staying and we only got one key which was a bit problematic as we were not doing the same thing. the doors are also self locking so if you forget your key you have had it as there is no reception there with a spare. the place was really nice, modern and spacious, needed a dust though, and really comfortable. the wifi was a BT home hub and service was terrible. checking out was as problematic - there being no reception (did i mention that!!!) so nowhere to store your luggage should your train be later in the day, ended up paying to store stuff at left luggage in train station, again had we known this we would have packed one suitcase instead of one each! put a bit of a dampener on otherwise a great weekend. the pub next door where we waited was extremely cheap, half of lager and three soft for just over £3, and they let us charge our phones up! would be great for a week or so selfcatering but not for our needs. luckily i used a voucher for the stay as would have been really disappointed to pay full price
- Jason (10/5): Great apartment for stays in London - Excellent, well equipped and convenient apartment
Great location, 5 mins walk from Kings Cross
Spacious. Large living/dining/kitchen, everything you need if staying for several nights
Large comfortable bed
Spotlessly clean
New bathroom with powerful shower
Easy to check in and out with friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The flat was spacious and clean (though I found a used condom in the bedroom that hadn't been cleaned). There could be more amenities that would improve experience (dish towels, cutting board, bags for rubbish, broom to sweep). Plus, could have responded to lights not working properly in the bathroom (no window and it was quite dark!). Good location--easy to get to tube and walk to British Museum, etc.
- Chris (6/5): Prepare for extras - Charged £30 extra for 'late' check in, which was post 6pm.
Bathroom light didn't work properly and despite assurances of a fix, it wasn't fixed.
Overall the place was clean and tidy but not thoroughly cleaned as we found tubes of make up on the floor in the bedroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): Apartment review - Comfortable
