- Francis Xavier (6/5): - I liked the laid back feeling typical of the Caribbean. It centrally located and easy to get to. Their restaurant offered good food and their PR/Canadian waitress was a blast. I will certainly return and recommend to my friends.
Note: the AC on Room 305 runs on the warm side until after 2:00 AM.
- Diane (10/5): - Thank you for a nice and convenient stay.
- Maria (10/5): - Small nice place to stay close to everything
- Kendra (6/5): - There is no housekeeping. There’s a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel. Really good food but terrible service. There are no seeim bugs on the beach that eat you and you don’t even know it. Horrible.
- MABEL (10/5): - Very clean and very convenient! Definitely a great place to stay.

- Lucyrodg (6/5): Need to Improve Customer Service - This guest house serves the purpose to sleep and shower. We had made the reservation two months in advance. My friend recommended this place because it has a bar; restaurant and its in front of the port. We arrived Monday, and that same day in the evening we were told by another guest that was checking out, that the bar and restaurant were closing for 2 weeks. We should have been notify by the Guest House Staff has a courtesy at least, since the reservation was made 2 months in advance. Then I was assigned the wrong room with no reason to justify the change. They need to greatly improve their customer service. The last day of check out, they did not have a bathroom facility, while we waited for our taxi pick up, I wonder what bathroom where their employees using?
- Donald (10/5): - Small but nice hotel with very comfortable bed. It is a few minutes walk from the ferry terminal which also makes it easy for getting a taxi. Several dining options nearby. The staff is always friendly and they have their own restaurant which is probably the best one in the area very relaxing
- Rachel (8/5): - Always stay here when we visit! The best place to stay and the food is amazing
- marge (6/5): - The restaurant had good food but it took 10 mins before someone came to take our order.and another 1/2 hr to get it. Parking was confusing. The room needs updating. One outlet was exposed No chairs . It was clean. Check out is before 11am but i had to leave by 10 and the office wss closed. There was no where to leave thre key
- rose (10/5): - Good air conditioning
- Liznette (8/5): - Nice place to stay need maintance looks old but it was clean .
- RAFAEL (10/5): - Very good all, only the price for drink; but everything is very good.
- Charles (10/5): Recommended - Very fun stay, nice view, maybe the cutest restaurant in all town, would stay again.
- Kathreen (8/5): - Upon arrival the staff was friendly and nice. Check in was a breeze. The bartender (a young man) was very informative, kind, and made fantastic cocktails. The room was clean, but water pooled on the floor under the ac. Possibly from humidity. We didnt mention it and chaulked it up to island life, so really can't complain. The room is small but there is outdoor seating on the balcony and the bathroom is rather large. Directly across the street, which our balcony faced unfortunately, appeared to be dumping and storage for the restaurant. Really a shame. The restaurant has water views and the food was really good and decently priced. Parking is hard to come by (even a golf cart). I hoped guests would get priority, but that wasnt the case. The restaurant hours are 1-9 but the bar stayed open much later than that. The noise could be heard loud and clear in our room, which was on the second floor. All in all we enjoyed Mamacitas. However, we may explore other options next time we stay.
- Tomas (2/5): -
The worst service I have ever gotten in my life. Lady was rude when I got there. She just told me to sign some paper and threw me the keys and told me to leave. When I went to the room no ac control was in slight so I went downstairs to ask about it. Was close and no way to ask someone so I called in the morning to ask where to put the key to the hotel no answer. On the keychain says to leave in any mailbox. I drop the key in the mail box. Then got a rude call where I left the key and then got told I will be an extra charge and hung up on me. Don’t come on the last boat of the day, they won’t explain nothing just tell you sign and go to your room.

- Catalina (10/5): - .
- Sebastian (10/5): - Great 👍
- Patricia (8/5): Comfortable with some minor inconveniences. - Pleasant stay overall. Room was comfortable. There is AC, TV and a balcony on the 3rd floor which was nice to sit outside of and watch the sunrise. Room was clearly in between drywall repair.
If youre a light sleeper, this place is not for you. Early morning roosters around the property, traffic noise and other guests chatting outside during late hours.
- Daniel (10/5): - Excelent situation. 5 minutes from the Ferry Terminal…
- Michael (10/5): - This is our 4th stay at Mamacita's. They never disappoint. The staff are so accommodating, friendly, and the food is excellent. Thank you!
- Donald (10/5): - Everyone is nice and the place has been updated. The beds are very comfortable. There is a good restaurant downstairs open for lunch and dinner. Its only a few minute walk from the ferry terminal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Almost perfect - It was almost perfect. Only complaint is the tv wasn't signed into anything, and we couldn't get the DVD player to work. Other than that, the location was ideal, the room was clean, and check in was a breeze.
- Lazaro (10/5): - perfect👍
- Jocelyn A (6/5): - The receptionist was rude and unwilling to help with any questions that were asked about getting transportation to the hotel or anything that had to do with the island.
- Eleonor (10/5): - Very conveniently located near the ferry!
- Angela (8/5): - The staff was really nice! Everyone at the onsite restaurant were amazing as well! The cleanliness of the blanket on the bed: questionable. I requested a new blanket and used that one.
- Wilfredo (8/5): - Its next to the water and it has a open bar next to it
- Deddy (10/5): - Ok
- Thomas (8/5): - Mamacita’s was basic and clean, right in town and convenient to everything. It was a great place to rest your head after a day at the beach and a meal in the neighborhood.
- elisa (2/5): - The person who check you in is very rude and isnt helpful at all.
- Samarie (10/5): - Really enjoyed the accommodations.
- xingning (10/5): - Restaurant next door
- Alexei (10/5): - Premium location
- GLORIA (2/5): - They don’t tell you on the website or when you check in they don’t have hot water you have shower with freezing cold water. They should said that before you book was very inconvenient
- Jake (2/5): - There was a cockroach in our room and the sheets were dirty/stained. It rained at night and water came in under the door and got our stuff wet.
- denise (10/5): - The spot was perfect and convenient.
- LUIS (10/5): - This was our second time staying here.
Super convenient location
Restaurant and bar area has been completely renovated.
Planning our next trip and will definitely stay here again
- Flor (2/5): - Las terrazas llenan de agua, muy sucias, las habitaciones con mal olor y caía agua de los techos . Muchos mosquitos . Horrible lugar .!!!
- Alex (10/5): - In the town, convenient
- Marcela (6/5): - It was nice overall but check in and check out times are limited, which we knew but to check out we had no clue where to leave the keys. Place was cozy and clean. Definitely walkable to everywhere.
- Nerangely (10/5): - Excelente servicio
- Camper797267 (10/5): One of the Top of Culebra - One of the best hotels in Culebra island. The hotel has a great location, easy to access to the ferry terminal and close to all restaurants, food stops, and beach access streets. Very central location within walking distance of everything in the downtown.
- Tomas (4/5): - No services available at all. Won't recommend
- Glorianne (10/5): Limpieza y comodidad - Excelente servicio y muy amables en recepción. El cuarto muy limpio y con un olor riquísimo.
- alfredof0 (10/5): Clean, inexpensive, friendly...and great food in this Guest House! - This is a guest house where people are very friendly, the food is fantastic: people recommend it as one of the few places where they cook good local food (not pizzas like almost everywhere else!). We enjoyed staying and having dinner there. The only awareness is that they open from 10 am, but you can also reserve your room in advance.
- cristina (8/5): - Good location. Walking distance from many places, market , bakery , restaurants , easy parking.
- Waldemar (10/5): - No transportation for handicapped person
- Melby (10/5): - La pasé de show . Fui el fin de semana que no había luz en la isla y no me arrepiento de haber ido la
Pasé de show . Gracias
- jesse (6/5): - Ac was very noosy and the lady was not very friendly checking in and out
- Klaudiusz (8/5): - Convenient
- Jose (2/5): - I had a city view room when i knpw they had lagoon view rooms available
- Marisol (8/5): - Nice view!
- Lucia (10/5): - Mamacitas was a great place to stay! We stayed for one night to experience Culebra and Flamenco beach. Mamacita’s location is amazing right in the middle of the Town. You’ll have bunch of other places around to eat, buy and even the ferry port if walking distance. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was good.
- scott (8/5): - Always love staying at mamacitas. 3 yrs now. And definitely will be back.
- Javier (10/5): Mamacitas - The check-in was excellent. I arrived about 2 hours early and they gave me a room right away. The staff was excellent. I checked out and accidentally left my Apple watch in the room. I went back several hours later and they had it waiting for me.
- Nilsa Esther (10/5): - AFFORDABLE, CENTRIC
- Marco (4/5): - Bed bugs I got bites all over I couldn’t sleep good at all.
- Darren (10/5): - A liitle tropical, hotel. The attached restaurant is delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excelente spot a pasls del Ferry - Todo muy limpio y la atención fue excelente
- Victor Alvarado (6/5): - great location to find it.
- Ida (6/5): - Front desk looks like they had a bad day, not friendly, short coming, overall some attitude and not quite helpful, TV not working in the room, I’ll see if they charge extra, I’ll send another review
- traveller1857 (10/5): We'll go back any time. Great stay in great location! - Awesome place! Great location right in Culebra. Close to everything. Friendly staff. Clean room. It had just been painted I think. A/C was great. We didn't try the TV because what the heck, we're on vacation and so many better things to do! Beach towels for the beach. We'll go back next time we're in Culebra!
- Jolian (8/5): - Very nice and clean
- Lydia F (10/5): - Super nice stay
- Anthony (10/5): - A relaxing place to be with the family.
- Angel (10/5): - Highly recommended
- Beth (10/5): - I love that each of the two rooms I used had windows towards the ocean. Also, there’s a casual atmosphere on all of the leveled balconies, including patio furniture and coffee tables. The staff was very accommodating when I was going to arrive late and had a scheduling conflict.
- Leyla (10/5): - For the price is perfect
- Gabriel (8/5): - The room I had at first had problems with the a/c since it started to drip water into the room. Spoke to management and they gave us another room, fresh and clean, on our 16 Anniversary night.
- Natacha (2/5): - Poor service and inattentive staff. When we arrived, we went to the bathroom in our room and there was no soap to be found. We went down to the front desk and they said that they didn’t have any and that we could go to the store. By this time, the stores were all closed so we had to wait till the next day to even take a shower after purchasing a bar of soap ourselves. We had a low expectation after viewing photos of the property, but The hotel struggled to even meet those low expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to friends.
- Maria (8/5): - Culebra is a very special town. The energy is magic. But the hotel it wasn’t clean and I found little roach when I turn the light on. Apparently they are in the process of remodeling and painting the place. I stayf in this place before, and it was in better condition. But I would stay again no matter what because I love Culebra. It is my one of my of my favotite places in the world ❤️
- Celines (8/5): - Close to the water, that's important. I loved that! I didn't like the staff service, poor people tratment. Not so nice the girl at rececption, being the face of a hotel
- Stacy (10/5): - Nice clean place to stay! Restaurant/bar right downstairs had great food and service!
- JIMMY (6/5): - Not parking available
- Maritza (8/5): - Location is very convenient. Close to the only bakery in the island. The room was clean the only two things that were a little bit of an issue was the access to the employees before 10am and the tiny space where the toilet is. I am a 5’8/145lbs female and it was very complicated for me. Can’t imagine the trouble for a taller or bigger person.
- Deidra (6/5): - The room was decent. It was clean and walking distance to the ferry which was convenient. Very noisy though from the bar downstairs but if you don't mind the noise its not terrible after 10pm. The shower also stays very cold. The water ran on the hottest setting for about 30 minutes and was still cold. I don't mind cold showers so it wasn't bad, but if you need a hot shower you definitely won't get one lol. If you want to visit Flameco Beach, consider staying at a closer place. Taxis are very expensive for a less than 10 minute drive.
- Patrick (8/5): - The guest house was very close to ferry. It was within walking distance of the restaurants and entertainment.
- Felix (8/5): - Lugar muy agradable y sobretodo super clean. Excelente opción en Culebra
- Josean (2/5): - Dear Expedia Customer Service,
I am writing to request a full refund for our recent stay at Mamacitas Hotel in Culebra, room 305, booked through Expedia. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory due to several significant issues.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was not functioning, making the room unbearably hot. We immediately informed the hotel office, but they did not have a maintenance team available to fix the problem. Additionally, the staff informed us that there were no other rooms available, leaving us with no choice but to sleep in our cars.
Moreover, the room was in extremely poor condition:
- The room was dirty, with visible dust covering surfaces.
- We found a cockroach in the room.
- There were blood stains on the pillow covers.
- There were food stains on the floor.
Given these unacceptable conditions, we are requesting a full refund of $193.84. Our stay was severely impacted by these issues, and we believe a refund is justified. Can you refund it back to my card that I use for this reservation ?
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and resolution.
Best regards,
[
