With all the pluses and minuses. If you want to be pampered,... maybe not, but this is a great place to tay.

We traveled on a motorcycle and it was hot (93 degrees) so we were ready to cool off for the evening. AC wasn’t on so the room had to cool down. We had to sit outside and wait for the room to be made up. Several doors down from us, one person left and had to go to town to buy toilet paper as the office was already locked up by 8 PM. Definitely will not be going back.

The room had popcorn on the floor that wasn’t mine, the toilet was leaking water, the shower faucet was super loose, and the blinds broke the second I touched them. I had a small interaction with the owner who was rude too. Don’t waste any money staying here.
• Mark (8/5): - Overall, I was very pleased to stay here. Two points that kept it at a 9/10 for me were the thin walls (but people were courteous) and the lack of USB plugs. Those should be standard these days.

On a road trip, I like a motel where I can drive up to the door of my room; this motel was perfect. Also, it is just a 3-minute drive to the state park or to the shops and restaurants on Broadway.

• slidingstar (10/5): Clean, Cozy Motel in a Great Location - The El Rancho is a no-frills, clean motel with friendly, helpful staff. The motel is right off of the main road and convenient if you are checking out Thermopolis. Parking is right in front of the room with easy access. It's five to ten minutes away from the center of town and many dining options. The room provides all of the essentials for a nice stay. Check in was quick. I'd highly recommend if you're exploring the area.

Just g9t bought by new owner and only reason I left only 3 stars for cleanliness is she had just varnished the wood, and there was a residue left on it. Otherwise great.

Spotlessly clean, well appointed, expansive parking area and super nice people. Truly a hidden gem! Returning in a few weeks and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Ps But beware when you visit this town of Thermopolis the cops are out to find a reason to pull you over. They pray on out of staters. It’s the talk of the town!! So follow every single law to a T! And definitely don’t speed pay attention to the speed limits. They will get you!!

We brought our service dog in training and when ahe was off duty she made friends witg the resident dog. They were able to play off leash in the shared patio area. The BBQ grills were convenient along with all the outdoor seating. This motel had plenty of parking for our trailer and was off the road so it was very quiet. We also purchased some DoTerra items from the office which was great for our sore muscles. We will definitely stay here again!!

• LateArrivers (10/5): Feel Like a Guest Rather than a Customer - We decided to stay 2 nights in Thermopolis to relax at the hot springs. The drive into town along a winding river gorge was unexpected and fantastic, and the free state park hot spring was amazing. We were greeted enthusiastically at the El Rancho front desk, and aside from the comfortable, clean, quiet and affordable rooms, our main reason to write this review is to highlight the warmth, kindness, and friendliness of the El Rancho staff. We felt like guests, while at most chain motels or hotels we feel like customers. Do you get this distinction? Finally, we agree with most of the other reviewers that this was a fine place to stay, and we had a 110% different experience from the one negative review review we read about this motel. Blessed to have stayed at the El Rancho, and we loved our 3 days as first-time visitors to Thermopolis. Definitely would stay and visit there again!
