- Sonia (10/5): - Don’t believe the one star reviews, this is an amazing, authentic experience with wonderful hosts. The property is spotless - this is a mineral spa and there will be deposits on the spa baths. The food is wonderful but they will struggle with significant dietary restrictions. We don’t eat meat and confirmed a couple of times this was OK well before we arrived. This is a Japanese resort. If you aren’t keen on an immersive experience this is not for you. The weather was terrible when we stayed and we still loved every minute. Including the wine bar! Hot tip. Arrive early for the drumming show. Both nights we stayed were standing room.

- Anna (8/5): - This resort is an amazing all-inclusive place with the wine lounge access. The gardens are beyond amazing—they go on and on. They must have many gardeners on staff. Inclusive kaiseki meal was excellent, much better than normal resort food. Private onsen on the balcony was so special and perfect. The wine lounge was phenomenal with unlimited tasting portions of wines from all around Japan. The drumming performance was a nice touch for evening entertainment. The hotel bar and izakaya were great for later night options (the bar looks out over the magical gardens). A really special place that we’d return to. Mount Fuji is right there too, although if you want to see it, don’t visit in the summer. Loved the samurai pjs to wear around and the yukata. I’d give this resort 5 stars if only they would have certain hours reserved in the onsen for guests with tattoos. We did book a room with a private onsen, but would have loved to use the bigger facilities.

As well as an amazing view of mount Fuji. The roof-top Onsen was a once in a lifetime experience for me and my friends and a memory we all cherish. The garden was also beautiful and great place to walk around and enjoy nature in during the day and night. The only bad part was leaving.

However, the service was very poor, and when we were checking out, they changed the fee to be over 400 dollars more expensive, denied that the original price which they had written on a sheet during our check in was cheaper, and threatened to call the police when we questioned them.

The resort itself, while built a long time back, is reasonably well maintained. The tatami room is a treat and my 1.5yo absolutely loved it. There were so much to do everyday, from trying out yukata to tea appreciation to drum performance in the evening and wine tasting. If I were to go back to Mt Fuji area, I will no doubt choose this property again. Also special mention to the wonderful Ms Fukunaga. She took such good care of us including our 1.5yo. She's an asset to the resort for sure!
- Stephanie (10/5): It was painful to leave! - This hotel offers SO much. Two onsens, restaurants, lounges, free kimono rental, drum performance, karaoke, beautiful gardens, tea, massages, facials, half-board dinner, and a fantastic view of Mount Fuji (if you go on a good day!) We stayed two nights and were not able to do it all. If you want a relaxing stay with plenty to do just in the hotel, this is an excellent choice and a major highlight of our trip to Japan. I went to the rooftop Onsen early in the morning and had the most spectacular view of Mount Fuji. I literally visited the onsen four times in two days…and had the Onsen all to myself multiple times. Plus, the wine lounge is unlimited wine, coffee, tea, bar snacks, and ice cream! I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we are already hoping to book again!!

There was a drum show at night which was fun. The on-site hot spring with views of Mt Fuji was an awesome experience. They had it split by gender so females could go in the evening and males in the morning. They also have a wine lounge with free wine, snacks and ice cream that we really enjoyed. In the morning, we could get coffee here with great views of Mt. Fuji. In the evening, they have a tea and snack. We did not enjoy the tea but that may be up to personal preferences. Overall, we would highly recommend this place for views of Mt Fuji, calm secluded stays, and a real experience of Japanese hospitality.

- MissAtlas (8/5): Beautiful hotel with Fuji views Set in stunning grounds - Firstly our room was amazing. We were on a high floor, which gave us incredible views of Mount Fuji when the weather was clear, absolutely a highlight of the trip. The room itself was spotless, with beautiful, high-quality furnishings that made it feel really special and comfortable and we had our own private onsen on the covered outdoor balcony area. We chose a western style room here rather than Futons. Once you check in, everyone can go to the kimono shop and choose one to wear around the hotel no extra cost a really nice touch. The hotel had some fun activities that we really enjoyed. Every night, they hosted a drums and bingo event, which was great. Other than those events, though, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a bar with any real atmosphere. It would’ve been nice to have a cozy spot to grab a drink and unwind in the evening with a bit more atmosphere. There is a club lounge if you book the drinks package, but it was super busy and definitely not enough seats every evening. The biggest challenge for us was the dining situation. We had to eat the same type of very traditional Japanese food every evening in a private room. The food was excellent quality and beautifully presented. However, There weren’t any other options if you wanted something different, like a more Western-style dish or even just a quick snack. They do have a Yakitori style snack bar, but it doesn’t open until 9 PM, so it’s not available for lunch or earlier in the day. That was a bit frustrating, especially when you’re craving something simple or varied. There are a few snacks available in the hotel reception gift shop area, though so we bought some pot noodles and made them in our room with the hot water from the kettle! The staff tried their best, but they didn’t speak much English at all which was surprising. We always make an effort to speak Japanese ourselves with google translate , but since this hotel is so close to Mount Fuji and attracts a lot of international guests, it would’ve been really helpful if communication was a bit easier. Even though it was very difficult with the communication, I did managed to book myself a wonderful massage at the Spa and find it! Overall, the location is absolutely lovely. The hotel is set in stunning grounds.

It lacks in walk ability, although we did make the track into town which took about 20 minutes on a busy farm road. The drum show and tea ceremony which are both complementary were both lovely. The dinner set was 9 small courses and were of fantastic quality, but we were definitely tired of sashimi by this time. The breakfast is buffet style and offers many choices from pancakes to miso soup and fish. We chose this hotel specifically for the private onsen and that did not disappoint myself or my teenage daughter. The public onsen that I used were also very nice. The view of mnt Fuji is stunning.

By the time we arrived, the room hotel assigned us was 20 meter square feet! We told them , we would like to be upgraded and pay for the extra. Because they were over sold , so there was no room available . We were considered change another hotel, the front desk told us , we were not going to be refunded! My husband and I travel all over the world and never experienced anything anything like this before. The worst thing is, we paid for bigger room and was given the smallest room entire hotel , and not refund us the money difference! The behavior of this hotel already break the law, because they sold us one room and gave us another room. Charge us bigger room and did not refund us the money…

We tried the room with two futons, they were not very thick so a bit uncomfortable, but part of the experience. The bar was a lot of fun, but it would be better if only for adults. Dinner is highly recommended! Each night something new and delicious. On the last night there was a bird trapped in the room vent. The flapping kept us up a bit at night. I mentioned it in the morning to the staff in hopes that they could get it out. I would have hoped to get a drink comped or something, but they just said thanks. Overall a good stay.

- Jennifer (10/5): - We stayed in a Western style Sanri room which had a private onsen with a view of Mt Fuji. The room is pricey but so worth it! The hotel provides shuttle service from 2 nearby train stations.The view was amazing! Mt Fuji was literally 5 blocks from the hotel! You could see it in full view from the window bench seat in our room and from the balcony. The onsen on the balcony was perfect! (My husband has a full sleeve tattoo so we decided to get the private onsen). Tattoos are only allowed in the public onsen if they are small and can be covered with a bandage. But I think it was better to share the experience of the onsen together vs going to a men or women’s one by ourselves. They provide you with a yukata which everyone wears around the hotel property. You can also rent a nicer one in the boutique in the lobby for free or there’s fancier ones to rent for a price. Pajamas are also provided. The reservation came with a kaiseki dinner and a breakfast buffet (with American and Japanese style food). I emailed the hotel in advance that we are allergic to seafood and they were so accommodating to alter the dinner for us. Service was awesome! The 2 lounges we had access to were great! Unlimited wine and a beer on tap! And a freezer with Haagen Daz & Godiva ice cream! They even have a nightly taiko drum performance in the lobby. The garden was also amazing which they light up at night. There’s also a foot onsen in the garden. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

- Xiaozhou (10/5): - The long-awaited Fuji Garden-style natural hot spring（Onsen） hotel with half board did not disappoint. Just like the name of the hotel, "Garden and Touching Inn". It not only has several natural springs public bath, but also the largest Japanese garden at the foot of Mount Fuji, which is beautiful all year round. The infinity multi-layer hot spring pool on the top floor offers an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji. There is also a large public bath on the first floor, divided into men's and women's baths, each with indoor and outdoor areas. There is also a QR code at the elevator entrance that can be scanned to instantly check the number of people bathing in the hot spring to avoid peak hours. My mom and I took a bath three times outdoors, which was very comfortable😌 The hotel also has a lot of activities, including kaiseki dinner,tasting green tea and snacks, hot spring foot bath in the courtyard, renting traditional costumes, even the cheapest colorful yukata like us looks good, and the Yamanashi Lounge with free and unlimited wine (produced in Yamanashi locally), beer, snacks, Haagen-Dazs/Godiva ice cream. In the evening, there are drum performances by strong men (20 minutes of non-stop, uniform, firm and powerful drums, and every sound hits the heart) and Bingo lottery activities, which are really worth the room price. Only drawback was breakfast not very tasty although lots of options. And it was 10 mins drive from Kawaguchiko station which needs to book shuttle bus.

Beautiful grounds on the property, amazing onsen (both on the roof and on the ground floor), incredible staff, can't say enough thank you to all the staff. Very nice drum show after the dinner and the most comfortable bed out of all hotels we stayed in Japan (felt like sleeping in the clouds), great buffet breakfast. Overall one of the best hotels we stayed at in Japan!

Bathroom walls were made of wood, which were half mouldy. Other than that, service and food provided was good. The view of Mt fuji was worth it.

- Xing Ru (10/5): - I booked two different types of room for two nights. The hotel offers me to stay in the first room until the second room is ready to check in. That impressive me and make me more relax. All the staffs are friendly and nice. And all the plant decoration in every corner of the hotel are fresh and pretty. Food quality is good and I love the Japanese style Buffett breakfast ( they also have western style buffet too). I will come back to visit for sure

Every staff member was friendly and helpful, and service was always impeccable. The breakfast buffet had a ton of great options (I love the omelet station) and the nightly dinner was incredible: the quality of the food and its presentation was amazing. The drumming after dinner was captivating. The hotel location is convenient - we drove to 5th station, the panoramic ropeway, and surrounding lakes and attractions in no time. We loved our stay at this property and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic experience near Mt Fuji.

One thing I didn't like was that I stayed 2 nights. I went back to the tea service on the 2nd day because I got a daily tea coupon. The staff looked surprised and asked if I had come yesterday and asked another staff to check again even though the coupons were different colors. The staff served the dessert first and then the tea. The dessert was so sweet and I wanted to wait for the tea to go with it. But the staff kept telling me to eat the dessert quickly and leave quickly because other guests would come in. The room was so beautiful and I just wanted to enjoy it.

Staff were amazing. Free kimono and Japanese pajama rental. Free show and bingo after at 8pm. The meal package was amazing, breakfast buffet was massive, dinner was a 7 course meal. Also, a free wine lounge with snacks and alcohol available. Can't say enough good things, would go again.
