Guest Reviews
- Arthur (10/5): - The room was clean, neat and large, the bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and neat, we felt safe in the area.
As we were visiting family nearby, we did not visit the restaurant. We will be back next year. It was pleasant experience.
- Cynthia (6/5): - You have to check in at the bar next door, our room was on the second floor, my husband has asthma and he had trouble just walking down the hall to our room, cigarette smell very strong. There is NO pool. Room and bed was ok but the parking and property needs some help.
- Christina (10/5): Worth the trip - Room was clean and comfortable. Looks like it was updated recently. Quiet overnight was nice.
- Wes (6/5): - Very friendly staff and easy check in. The room is nice, but smelled like a smokers lounge. Supposed to be a non smoking room but absolutely smells like a dirty ash tray. My clothes and bag actually smelled from it. Did tell member off staff about it and said they would address it.
- George (8/5): - Did not have any major issues with my stay. Proximity to Pocono Raceway was a big plus. Room was clean. AC in the room felt a little weak but wasn't a big deal since it wasn’t too hot outside at the time of my stay. Some bar soap is provided but no shampoo. Be aware that there is no fridge or microwave in the room. WiFi is also not available and the cell service is a bit spotty. Not a huge deal but worth being aware of.
- MIchelle (4/5): - The property doesnt match the pictures. Its run down. People are nice.
- Ammatu (8/5): 4.0 - It was amazing, nice and clean. My kids love it. They watch dear favorite show in the TV. Wifi services was provider. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although not a fancy 5 star hotel, the Fern Ridge was a very pleasant surprise! We had expected the lower rate to mean a small room without much comfort, but found the friendliness of the staff to go above and beyond what one would receive at ANY rated hotel. Jackie introduced herself as the housekeeper and was very kind to note she would accommodate anything we needed, their restaurant served reasonably priced meals, and located only moments from the Pocono Speedway.
I highly recommend the Fern Ridge if you are staying in the area for a race and are open minded to knowing this isn't going to be a mint on the pillow attraction, but they are kind and the location was exactly what we needed!
- Matt (4/5): Terrible service - The only person who was friendly or considerate, was the woman who cleans the rooms. The check in woman was the bartender at the restaurant next door, and was very rude to us when all we did was wait for her to have a free moment to check in. We went to book a room for two total nights. I told the person who ended up checking us in, since the bartender wanted absolutely nothing to do with us, did not charge me for the two rooms like I asked and then had to ring me up a second time, which wasn't inconvenient in any way, but more or less annoying since we stated we wanted. Upon getting to the room, there was trash in the bathroom trash can, as well as no mini fridge. On the information section of the hotels.com page there was no information as to what amenities the room actually had. Since checking in required us to go to the restaurant next door, we had to check out there as well but they were only open from 11am-11pm, since we were leaving before they opened on our check out date, we went over the evening before to try to return the keys. While trying to return the keys the woman we talked to initially was very nice, but we were rudely interrupted by an older man. He kept giving us attitude for no reason. Needless to say I'd never stay at this hotel again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): You get what you pay for - No guest wifi. Check-in behind bar. No front desk.
- Jeffrey (6/5): Basic Accommodations With a Few +'s & -'s - Basic room in a basic hotel. Downside: Bed (comfort and size), TV (CRT? Really?), Noise (street). Upside: Cost, convenience, staff (EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating).
