Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. - We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The location is spectacular, situated on an idyllic small holding with fresh fruit grown for picking, lotus flowers and lily pads in the ponds and plenty of wildlife to keep you enraptured.
The double room we stayed in was well equipped with a fridge, lots of water, coffee and ovaltine, a kettle, a Thai style hard mattress (which we loved!) in a large bed and a spacious bathroom with great water pressure.
The host was the highlight who not only made beautiful and thoughtful breakfasts delivered to us each morning, but also offered a cheery and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel cared for and right at home. The host is a special soul, and is happy to offer you guidance on your stay in Sukothai, as well as a good laugh!
We rented bikes at a great rate (50 baht a day for two bikes) and felt very comfortable being able to explore the ancient city with a comfortable home to come back to every evening.
This is a stellar option if you want a quiet and idyllic country retreat at a fantastic price!
- pia (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing place to experience sukhothai from with great hospitality! - The location is beautiful just outside of the town center. Very nice to have a quiet and beautiful place to rest. Easy to hire a bike or moto and get around wherever you like. Great for slow pace relaxing and very friendly and helpful staff. Would absolutely go back! Nothing I didn't like. The bed was quite firm but very okay for a short stay. It was also very hard to adjust the AC, it only stayed on one setting but kept the room very cool!

- MonikaLisa (9/5): I would love to visit again - I had a wonderful stay at Sukhothai City Resort. This small resort is a hidden gem, featuring individual bungalows with private bathrooms that feel like their own separate buildings nestled among lush nature, ponds, and trees. The location is exceptionally quiet yet perfectly placed just a short distance from both the town and the main historical ruins. One of the best perks was being able to rent a bike directly from the resort for a very cheap fee (only 50 baht a day), making it incredibly easy to reach the nearby bike lanes and explore the old town's ancient temples. Every morning started with a tasty and refreshing breakfast, providing the perfect fuel for a day of cycling through the history of Sukhothai. I would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient retreat. Nothing to report
- Alex (10/5): Peaceful paradise amongst the lotus ponds - The family running the resort are so helpful and kind! They delivered breakfast to my porch, helped me plan a cycling route around the ruins and had a bicycle ready and waiting for me. I had some lovely chats with the owner who said he would look after me like his own child! As a young woman solo travelling I really appreciated their hospitality. They even dropped me into town / picked me up so I wouldn’t have to cycle after dark.
The resort is at the edge of the old city, out in nature and very quiet. Breakfast on the porch surrounded by lotus ponds was blissful!
I would stay again and recommend this resort. The room was clean enough for me but would benefit from a deep clean - there was some dust / cobwebs in the corner.
A bedside lamp for the evening would be a good addition .
- Christopher (10/5): Charming cabin stay run by excellent hosts - The location is excellent if you want to explore Sukhothai's historic part. The cabins are very comfortable and the grounds of the property is charming. I appreciated the little veranda outside the cabin, perfect for breakfast or an evening read. The couple that run the place are wonderful. They serve you an excellent breakfast with fruits, as far as I understood, picked from their garden. The bikes you could rent were very useful. I would highly recommend staying here. Nothing.
- Laurent (10/5): Lovely welcome in a corner of paradise - A huge thank you to Sunad who was really lovely to us! ♥️♥️♥️ He welcomed us like kings! He gave us very good advice for visiting Sukhothai and eating in a good restaurant. The room is in a small wooden house surrounded by nature: ideal for recharging your batteries! 😊 We slept very well and in the morning Sunad served us a delicious breakfast on the terrace of our room. 😋 We really recommend this accommodation! We really want to go back! ♥️ We appreciated everything ! ❤️
- Niall (8/5): - Lovely rural location
Charming owner The bed was a little hard for
- LI PING (8/5): -
- Pascal Theubet (10/5): - Really nice Place with lovely and super friendly Hosts! They really took care of me and brought me breakfast every morning. I felt kind of home
And super relaxing to do the short bike ride to the town.
Thank you! Nothing!
- Marcele (1/5): Unfortunately Not Trustful - The facilities were okay, but I had a bad experience detailed below that was really unpleasant. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this property. During my stay, 2,000.00 Thai Baht went missing from my luggage. To test it if someone was going through my stuff when I was not there, I left one of the small bags (where the money was before) partially open before leaving the property and when I returned both times the bag was closed, which confirmed my suspicion. I thought many times before doing this review, but I would like to know if it was me, so just trying to help other travellers to not have the same experience.
- Agnès (10/5): - The hosts were super nice and helpful! We felt very taken care for. Thanks a lot! -
- Anna (10/5): Cozy and amazing - The owners made our stay very special. They were really sweet and told us a lot about Sukothai and what we could do during our stay there. They had bikes for us that we could rent for 100baht, because there were not a lot of Grab or Bolt cars available in this area. In the morning the hosts woke us with an amazing breakfast and fresh picked dragonfruit from their garden. They have multiple dragon fruit trees and one of the fruits was ripe on our first morning! And the end of our stay they called a Tuktuk for us so we could arrive at the bus station on time which was really thoughtful. The room was nice too, very cosy and clean! It’s like a little bungalow, and at night you can hear the sounds of nature around you. Nothing about the stay itself, but one thing you do have to mind about this area is that there are some wild dogs around. One night while riding our bike back to the stay, one dog got really aggressive and started running towards my foot, looking like it was ganna bite it :0. Luckily nothing happened in the end, but it was a scary experience.
- Mc (10/5): Stay here!!!!!! - My family absolutely loved this place.
We were so touched to learn that the cabins, furniture, and even the pottery were all handmade by Uncle (the husband) himself. Both Uncle and Aunty were incredibly kind and warm. They booked a tuk-tuk for us, and Aunty gave us a map each day with tips on where to find good food, the nearest 7/11, and the best spots to catch the sunrise and sunset.
Breakfast was served daily and featured local food and fruits freshly harvested from their organic garden—
sooo good! I even had the best tea of my life at this property. There’s wildlife around, so don’t panic if you hear noises on your roof at night—it’s all part of the experience.
The cabins were very clean, cozy, and full of character.
If we could stay here forever, we would. Uncle was especially kind to my son—he took him around the property to find frogs and even catch fish in the pond.
(Edit to add)
The Wi-Fi in the first two rooms closest to their main house is excellent. Three of us worked online for over 8 hours a day, and the connection was solid the entire time.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Location was really good and is next to historic park
- Eglė (10/5): Charming rustic place - The host lady was very sweet and gave us very good recommendations of what to visit during our short stay.
She helped us rent a motorbike so we were able to explore the area very conveniently. She also arranged us a drop off to the bus terminal for a reasonable price. We were happy with her hospitality.
The breakfast provided is just some sweet pastries and a lot of fresh fruit.
We were very lucky to be upgraded to a bigger cabin as the small ones looked pretty dated, but I think they are renovating them as well.
This place will be best for those who love rustic style and being very close to nature (you can enjoy all the nature sounds at night almost like camping in a tent). The inside of the cabin was very clean and everything worked well. I wish the outside area all around the cabins would be kept more tidy and that more savory breakfast options would be provided like eggs abd friend rice or noodles as well as real coffee 😊
- Mishney (10/5): LOVELY PROPERTY+ WONDERFUL OWNERS - My family loves his place so much. We love that the cabins (and furniture and pottery) were built by uncle (the husband) himself. Both uncle and aunty were so kind and warm. They booked a tuktuk for us, and auntie gave us a map daily with tips re: where to find good food, 7/11, best spots for sunset/sunrise.
The breakfast served daily includes local food and lots of fruits harvested from their organic garden. Soooo good! I've had the best tea in my life in this property. There's wildlife around so don't panic if you hear noises on your roof at night.
The cabins were very clean. If we could stay here forever we would.
Uncle was so kind to my son too. He took him around this property to find some frogs and catch fish (there's a pond on the property).
If you were not lucky with your own parents, your inner child will be healed here. Aunty and uncle will be your parents while you stay.
- Nolwenn (10/5): Beautiful place - Second time that I come here.
The first time was alone in 2023, and I felt in love of Sukkothai, and this place. And I knew I will come back with my mum. She was very grateful that I bring her here.
The owners are so kind, and funny. Always here to make your stay beautiful.
I advise spending some time with them, and don't rush. Because they have so much to offer.
Breaky is very big ahah, you will see by yourself.
It's ok if you are not so good at english, they always have a traduction app with them
You can rent a bike there, and do everything with it. The localisation is perfect : 10min with bicycle from old city, but in the field.
I just recommend this place so much. nothing
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - The place is beautiful in the middle of trees and I'm a quiet area. You are basically at the historical park.
Loved the breakfast varied and well served.
And the hosts were super nice and helpful.
Recommend it 100%
- James (10/5): A wonderful experience. Would stay again without hesitation. - I really cannot say enough good things both about the experience of staying here, and about the couple that run this lovely place. We arrived and they immediately made us feel so welcome. The advice they gave us for seeing the wonderful ruins around this rustic area was spot on. It’s a really relaxing place, Sukhothai. We would definitely consider going back just for a quiet break amongst the ruins of this former city. I noticed that, amongst other things, there is a sign at the front of the City Resort which says “learning centre”. I presume they run educational retreats or something like that. But that said, it occurred to me that the couple running this property provide a master class in how to run a hospitality business. If anyone wants to know how to make guests feel at home just come here! Also, almost forgot to mention the breakfast. This really was a highlight. Lots of little treats, some from the local markets. And they even told us the Thai names for things - which we are still practising ;) There was really nothing. This is in a location a little away from town, so if a five minute bicycles ride past atmospheric ruins in to town is not your thing this would be a downside I suppose. For us it was an advantage. Also there are a few little animals around, and they may walk on the roof at night. This did not bother me, indeed it was part of the charm, but some people may prefer options with less character and life around and about (there are always those soulless five star hotels for those who need them ;)
- Jeff (10/5): Peace of Mind - Accommodation is on a beautiful quiet rural property, run by a lovely elderly couple. They are kind and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Property is perfect for piece of mind and very close to a couple of the attractions from antiquity, as well as a functioning Buddhist monastery. Accommodation is a bit far out but a bike can be rented for a small fee. Be mindful of local stray dogs when biking around, as some of them can be aggressive, and remember to bring lots of water with you.
- Richard (9/5): Delightful, rustic, fun place in perfect location for Sukhothai historical park with lovely hosts. - The hosts (especially 'Em') were just delightful. The price is extremely reasonable. The location relative to Sukhothai park is great. I loved that they rented me a little bike to cycle around the park and local mini-downtown on - it was a blast. Em basically laid out an itinerary for me during my 2 days (and gave me tips and directions about night markets and street food - so helpful). Be aware, this is a 'rustic' setting...it's a little wooden cabin (albeit air-conditioned) with a big old bed taking up most room and a combined shower/toilet (though my hosts were very kind and give me the connecting bedroom to drop my suitcase in to give me a little more space). They also provided Coffee/Tea and pastry/fruit breakfast each day which was pleasant to have on the little cabin porch.
- Alex (9/5): A lovely part of my visit to the old citadel of Sukhothai. - The owner was lovely and very helpful with some great advice. The setting is really peaceful. The breakfast was an unexpected treat. I cycled (bike provided ) a fair distance and saw most of the Wats and had the majority of them completely to myself. The room was comfortable and the fridge was very well stocked with water - much appreciated! After seeing the temples, it was nice just to sit on the balcony watching the bird life, listening to music. Not a problem for me, but it is out of 'town', which is just built up around the tourist industry. The town itself is a quick bike/ scooter ride through some great scenery. I cycled back in darkness and there are street lights along the way. You might see or hear a few street dogs...who are lovely.. They were very appreciative of the snacks I bought for them, but...if you don't stop, they will not bother you.
- Jc (10/5): Exceptional - The owners were super nice, they rent us bike to visit the historical park, give us a map and showed us what to do in sukhothai. The breakfast was excellent. The ressort is beautifull and calm.
I strongly recommend this place, big thanks to them!
- Ioanna (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a great place to stay and explore Sukhothai. The owners are super nice and made me feel at home, even got me croissants (Thai and French) for breakfast when they saw I have one tattooed. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was amazing, the owners helped with everything I needed and I could rent a bicycle to explore the park there. In the evening I could hear the crickets from the pond and in the morning I saw so many birds. I would definitely come back. Nothing, I loved it here and wish I stayed longer.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - Mai, the owner
Good location
Good enviroment
Good food None.
- Rachelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kit (10/5): Exactly what we wanted❤️ - So cute, great location, nature-filled, wonderful couple who took great care of us. Wouldn’t trade our experience for the world, absolutely adored NA
- Yong (10/5): Exceptional - Family style. Warm and sweet .Not far from Sukhothai historical park. Fantastic breakfast.Everything is Great.Recommended. Nothing
- Buckley (10/5): Amazing hospitality, a beautiful setting. - We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The owners went above and beyond to make our visit special. The setting is beautiful, and you can clearly see how much care and effort they’ve put into the place. The breakfasts were delicious and far beyond what we expected.
On our last day, we were stuck trying to get to our train as there were no buses available, but they kindly organized transport for us, which was such a big help. Sukhothai is a fantastic place to visit, and staying here made it even better. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip. Nothing
- Samuel (10/5): Amazing place with even more amazing staff - This gem was made even better by the kind and welcoming hosts who were both kind and helpful. The breakfast was also amazing!
- Deborah (10/5): Surprise oasis - The hospitality of our host was outstanding. He was very helpful and friendly and quite funny. Good sense of humour. His English is limited but he has a language app and we communicated really well.
The breakfasts were filled with delicious choices of fresh organic fruit that is grown on his property and other Thai delicacies. The beds were comfortable. The little cabins are very cute. All made by the owner. Rustic but very comfortable.
His wife is lovely and speaks English quite well. Nothing
- Sebbie (9/5): Absolutely loved it - One of the most beautiful places I have stayed, such a lovely breakfast brought to the bungalow every morning, so so peaceful, bikes to borrow which were new and so easy to ride, such friendly and gracious hosts, fantastic location really near the parks The bed was hard, as are so many in Thailand- didn’t detract from my stay though
- Deborah (10/5): Special spot. - This little oasis is very special. The hosts take care of you like you are family. They are very helpful in giving information about the area and what to see. They have bicycles to rent to ride around the heritage park.
They provide a delicious breakfast with all the fruit served grown right on their property. This property is not a luxury resort , it is cute, rustic little cabins set amidst a farm like environment. You are guests of the owners. It is very unique. Nothing!
- Virginia (10/5): Special place and heartwarming owners - This place will hold a special place in my heart, wish i could have stayed longer. Please make sure you ask Sunad for a tour of their garden, he takes great care of all plants, wildlife and and has built the wooden houses by himself. Nothing :) Maybe I would have liked to have a more modern bike, but I know they are buying new ones.
- Maryam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Panagiota (10/5): Exceptional - A little paradise near Sukhothai Historical City! We loved the room and the hosts were very welcoming and kind. We rented bicycles and we followed their suggestions. We would definitely come back!!
- James (10/5): Very pleasant stay with excellent hosts. - Amazing hosts. Very friendly and made us very welcome. Nothing to not like about it. It is very Thai style.
- Ben (10/5): Beautiful Cottage near Sukhothai Historical Park - Beautiful little cottage in the countryside near Sukhothai historical park. Em and her husband were so lovely and made us feel right at home, brought us breakfast every morning, helped us rent a scooter and arrange taxis etc. Would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area. Considering the price I honestly couldn't complain about anything.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - We had a really great stay! The place around is beautiful and it is super calm (hence a little bit outside). The owners were more than lovely and made us feel super welcome.
- Martyn (10/5): Fantastic stay in rural farm-like surroundings! - Clearly a labour of love for the man who built this accommodation - apparently quite literally as he built much of it himself. His pride in the place is contagious as is his enthusiasm - you truly feel you are staying in a natural setting, complete with tropical fruit trees and a breakfast delivered to your room of his own home-grown fruits. We loved our stay here, and would encourage other travellers to please support this family in their venture ! The temples are literally minutes away by car or bicycle (easily rented nearby).
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hosts are very hospitable and friendly people. They helped me plan my visits to the temples and even showed me Thailand's first bullfighting stadium. The cottages are small but cozy, with a veranda and a view of the river. The internet is good. I loved the location. I felt very comfortable. And of course delicious breakfast from Khun Am.
- Brigi (10/5): What a beautiful place to be - The atmosphere, the people, and all the kindness we got while visiting Sukhothai. I think one of the top places I ever stayed. But you should definitely have a nature filter on your eyes. Nothing:)
- Owen (10/5): Highly recommend for anyone seeking a bit of quiet in Sukhothai. Very friendly hosts! - Best hosts ever! Quiet location. Handcrafted rooms. Very affordable bicycle rental to explore Sukhothai
- Emma (9/5): A fab stay in Sukhothai - Lovely hosts, so warm and welcoming. Great location and bike hire a bonus! More of a glamping style stay, bathroom a bit rustic, but totally fine!
- Nicolay (10/5): Wonderful location and affordable price. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful! - We loved the location, property and hosts! It was super convenient and beautiful. It was wonderful to be able to rent bikes and get to all the sights we were wanting to visit. Nothing really!
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Maelle (10/5): Incredible people and amazing place, thank you for all -
- Ivannia (8/5): Very good - The lady at the hostel was very kind and helped us with all the questions we had. Plus, she always brought us a delicious breakfast The WiFi signal didn’t reach the room very well
- Cynthia (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed breakfast each morning on the balcony! It was lovely to listen to the sounds of nature and gaze at the tranquil setting over coffee, local fruits and pastries. The owners couldn’t have been more hospitable!
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are very friendly. Garden is very beautiful! Resort is very close to the historical park. Good hotel ! Nothing
- Grace (10/5): Great stay on beautiful farm with amazing host who made our stay even better by giving us great recommendations! - Amazing breakfast, super friendly host who gave us loads of recommendations and was so kind.
Renting bikes was really handy for visiting the temples. Loved the location and garden. - nothing to mention
- Henri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (10/5): Our favorite place in Thailand! - We only stayed two nights and this has been our favourite place we've stayed at in Thailand! We loved our cabin (hand-built by Sunad!) and found it so cosy and aesthetically pleasing! The whole atmosphere of the place combined with riding bicycles through the Historical Park (only a 15 min ride, and 50 baht per bike) made it a really special experience for us that we'll never forget. We don't think it would have been the same staying in a typical hotel.
We woke up every morning to a beautiful breakfast of various baked goods, fruits (some grown right on the property), and tea on the front porch of our cabin brought to us by Am! She has to tell you when she leaves it or the birds will eat it (the birds are very big!). One of our favourite details was that Sunad had glazed the teapot and cups himself to add "sukhothai city resort" to them. He laughed when he told us that he forgot to cross the T, so they said Sukholhai Cily Resort, sounding like Silly Resort, haha.
Also, we called Am from the bus station to say there were no Grabs because of Songkran so we might be late. Little did we know she went off to find us a ride! We had already managed to find a tuktuk by the time she called us, but this was so above and beyond! She is amazing.
When we arrived, it was late, and Am didn't ask for payment until morning because she wanted us to get rest. In the morning, she came by with a map and wrote out a route for us to take into the historical park by bike for the day. This was one of the only places where a tour or otherwise wasn't pushed on us - we just felt like she genuinely wanted us to have a good time and really cared! We were very much made to feel like family.
Am and Sunad also taught us new words every day, like how to say thank you (the male and female version) and count to 3 for a photo, and always had a smile on their faces whenever we spoke to them. We loved everything.
- Amira (10/5): Perfect stay, lovely hosts, great location, beautiful nature - Stop looking because you have stumbled over the best accommodation you could possibly find here. Our three nights at Sokhothai City Resort were the most lovely stay I ever had. The two hosts and there son looked after us like we were family. They are the sweetest people we have come across in Thailand, and that really means something because it is a country that is very rich on perfectly lovely people. Everything was perfect, the beautiful self made huts that don’t leave you short of any comfort (A/C, big bed, a fridge full of water and a well equipped bathroom), the fantastic breakfast with fresh fruits from the garden, which Aem brought us directly to our hut, the location and the top notch guidance through the must-sees in Sukhothai. On top of that Su Nad gave us an extensive and very passionate and funny tour through their garden paradise, and told us about the ecological and sustainable methods he employs to grow his beautiful forest, we even got to plant our own trees! I would seriously come back to Sukhothai just to stay here again🌞 Thank you so much and all the best to you

- Phillip (10/5): Lovely couple who run the place, great location to cycle to the historic park, can rent bikes, breakfast delivered to yo - The couple who run the place, Em and her husband, are incredibly friendly and helpful. Em showed us the map of the historical park and advised which were the best parts to visit and when for sunset, sunrise etc. We rented out bikes through them which were great and the perfect way to get around the city - we would recommend! The location of this resort is perfect, just 15 minute cycle from most of the historical park, but particularly close also to some of the Wats and ruins of the Northern part of the park. The hut you stay in is quite simple/rustic, but is perfect for a short stay, and great value. Breakfast was also amazing! We didn’t realise it would be included but they bring you breakfast to your individual hut at your preferred time, and you can eat it in a peaceful and intimate setting. It included breads/pastries and fruit. I couldn’t recommend this place more for a 2 night stay to visit the historic park. Nothing!
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - The property is nice. The rooms are comfortable and charming. The location, about 2 km from the historical park, and surrounded by the peacefulness of nature is also good. It are the owners that make it exceptional though. This wonderful couple made me feel right at home. Their cheerful attitude was infectious and they were always ready with recommendations or to answer questions. And the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fresh fruits.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome place - we loved it !
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - The property was beautiful, surrounded by a lot of plants and fruit trees.
we have arrived at night with the rain and we could hear fringe and crickets from our room, it was very relaxing and magical.
the owners are just as sweet, she was bringing us the best breakfast with fruits that grows in their property, he was really nice telling us a lot of stories and teaching us some Thai words.
overall very recommended for both the location and lovely owners.
- Katrin (10/5): Exceptional - Staying at Sukhothai City Resort was the best experience.
It's very remote outside of all the hustle and bustle so I could enjoy the quiet really well - meaning no street noise but instead all the sounds of nature...cows, birds, frogs, cats, crickets, leaves falling etc..
The owners are a nice couple. Very kind and caring people. Always smiling, ready to crack a joke, and laughing a lot.
Breakfast had been arranged in such a lovely, beautiful way and tasted super yummy.
It's not a posh accommodation, but a very down to earth place which supports soothing the nervous system. The internet connection was very instable from inside my room. Outside on the veranda, it worked better.
- Jijiahong (10/5): Good place to slow down - It’s a beautiful village near wat si chum. You will impressed by the how relax can be to live surrounded by nature. The owner here is very gentle and carefully taking care of us about all we need, including the generous breakfast, tour guiding, booking taxi and landing bicycles. Wish I could stay longer next time.
- Christian (9/5): A short ride away from the historical park which we visited in the mornings and evenings, we were happy to retreat in t - Luxurious garden, reclaimed wooden bungalow, small but confortable and with lots of Thai character Lovely breakfast served on balcony at the time asked for.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dinko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hadrien (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful location and the hosts are really nice !
- Nikita (9/5): Superb -
- Yanling (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast. Staff very nice! Too many mosquitoes, but it's not their fault
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, so peaceful and calm inside the nature but close to the park just 10 minutes cycling. Really good and big breakfast. The owner and the husband are so nice, the help you with everything, the call us a taxi and rent bikes with a good price. They took us pictures and the atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing. We already miss it!
- Elena (10/5): Awesome, felt very welcomed! - Such friendly owner! Breakfast was surprisingly included. We rented bikes for only 50 bath per person per day. We loved cycling the 15 minutes to the historical park!
- Tomáš (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are just amazing. We got much more then we expected. They met us on the way to resort and gave us a lift as well as at the checkout to sukhotai bus stop, even managed bus for us. They borrowed us bikes for free with recommendations what to visit. In the morning they bring delicious breakfast which wasn't advertised as well. The room was perfectly clean. Super nice place for really nice price. Definitely recommended.
- Marcin (10/5): Close to nature - Little tiny houses made from wood. Totally outstanding! Owners very warm and welcoming. Flowers, trees, birds very close to nature and to Sukhotai historical park with amazing night market. I wish to stay there longer!
- Mostly (10/5): Exceptional - Travelling to nice places is miles better with nice people. This couldn't be more true for Sukhothai City Resort, the owners are without doubt the most caring we've met. Our situation was probably more extreme than most, I was quite ill upon arrival and couldn't leave the bed. Both hosts took great care of me and even took me to the hospital (and waited the whole time!).
The place itself is a lovely quiet spot on the edge of town, perfect for sight seeing with a bicycle (according to my boyfriend!). The room was very comfortable and a charming little place to stay for a few days. Despite my illness I was still able to have a good laugh with the hosts who felt like family. We of course loved the breakfast service every morning! No shops or restaurants within walking distance (bikes are available though!)
- ***joy (8/5): stand alone cottage in a rural setting - lovely host couple offered a bike rental for 50 baht, to get the bus ticket for me with no extra fee, and gave me a ride to town. enjoyed the private cottage, breakfast served on the patio (you choose when), and loved the quiet rural setting amidst lotus ponds (with surprisingly just a few mosquitos) and a cow farm. if you continue on the road in the opposite direction of the town you end up among rice fields. i spotted several birds incl. storks, egrets and doves.
on Sat the archeological site is open late till 8pm, complete with a food market, and gets lit after dusk.
there is Bolt in the area. wish the room had more space and window screens.
there was no separation btw the shower and toilet so the whole bathroom got wet after a shower.
- Thalia (9/5): Best place in Thailand - Lovely place located at Sukothai historical park. The owners are very kind and they allowed us to do early check in. They also offer a very generous coffee break. It was one of the best places we stayed in Thailand. We highly recommend it. The bungalow has a nice space and we had a view of the lake. The bungalow needs some maintenance, but nothing that will ruin your experience. They borrow you bycicles, but they also need some maintenance. We had problems with the tires.
- Ian (10/5): Nature - A lovely little wooden cabin perched amongst the wildlife and nature of the rice paddies, with beautiful views all around. Great cool aircon, a big fridge, a big comfy bed, and a large bathroom. The owner was wonderful. Very helpful, bringing a map of the area and great tips for where and when in the day to visit certain places, when we arrived. It was a lovely place to sit out on the balcony and, in the evening, watch the fireflies float over the fields. Then, in the morning, the owner brought us a breakfast of tea, coffee, cake, and fresh fruit from her garden. Will definitely stay here again in the future. Nothing.
- Greig (10/5): Best place we stayed in all of Thailand - This was the highlight of our travels in Thailand so far. The host family were the most welcoming and lovely people, providing maps and suggestions on what to visit nearby. They gave clear instructions on how to reach the property and even booked our onwards bus tickets at a much better price than online sellers.
Everything within Sukothai old city was easy accessible from the perfectly located property using the well-maintained and reasonably-priced bicycles provided.
The cabin itself was just perfect. The sounds of the nature all around gave us the best sleep of our whole trip, and waking up to the cows, roosters, frogs and turtles all around was just amazing.
Sukothai is a magical place and this property is the perfect place to experience it.
- Sofia (7/5): Pleasant - Amazing location.
Good host and efficient! bungalows were with some insects (ants on the bed) and the breakfast was not so good…
- Benjamin (7/5): Good - The couple running this resort are very friendly. Dogs barking at night and the bugs biting my feet at night.
- Lily (9/5): Special place to stay in Sukhothai! - Super friendly hosts and peaceful beautiful setting! We had the large cottage, ample space for three people, great facilities and all built with love! Thanks for the warm welcome! A bit far from restaurants in town
- Nout (8/5): Back to basic - If you dont mind a little less luxury and going back to basic. This is it. Situated on a small park, these small bungalows have everything. Shower, airco... the works. Its small but cosy and the evening is filled with sounds of the jungle. Breakfast is fine and the host is very sweet. She also lend us some bikes to go on a daytrip. Bit small of a room. Thats it.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Esin (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and cozy place. Location is amazing. Madam is so kind and helpful. Everything was like a dream. We are bird watchers. Madam's husband knows every bird on that area. They are really sincere people. We learn some thai vocabulary from them. It's so funny. 😀 I didn't want to leave sukhothai.
- Manon (10/5): Extraordinary exotic experience that makes us feel at home - Kind and funny owners sharing moments with us.
Self made amazing cabanes in the middle of the nature. Wake up smoothly by the bird and the cows. Full of comfort, no mosquitos.
Amazing breakfast.
Close to all points of interest.
We will come back definitely if we are in this area again.
- Pauline (10/5): Wonderful! - We had a wonderful stay at Sukhothaï City Resort!
The bungalows are well equipped and very comfortable. The location is ideal as you’ll be sleeping in a beautiful garden, not far from the historical parc (10 minutes biking). We loved the kindness of our hosts. We would definitely stay here again!
- Veeranayagi (7/5): Nice spot in a very natural setting. - Rustic place in a very natural setting. Quite comfortable but would take a bigger hut next time. But all else was great. Great hosts, lovely fruit breakfast and great location.
- Martin (10/5): Best way to stay in old Sukhothai - an adress where you have to be while visiting sukhothei :-).
Lovely persons who will help you whatever you need. Delicious breakfast REALLY. homestay is decorated very nice. in wonderful landscape.
It is the best way to stay.
A little paradise :-)
Martin & Fabienne from Munich -
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommended - Thank you for your warm hospitality! Rarely on our 10 month trip have we felt as welcome and comfortable as we did with these two lovely people. Everything we needed was there. Even chilled water and bicycles to explore Sukothai. The main attractions are easily accessible by bike. You just have to ride through the beautiful nature for a few minutes and you're there... -
- Tyler (10/5): Sukhothai Ciry Resort, amazing property, amazing people! - The resort is on a beautiful piece of property. The owner and her husband are both incredibly nice, as well as their son. She asked what time I would like to wake up and offered coffee/tea, fruit, and pastries every morning at no charge. She spent time with a map circling the route i should take through the old city and extra little easter eggs, as well as renting me a bike for 50 baht. All in all, my stay was great. Could be a little closer to the city center, but to get that sort of beautiful property and wilderness, i just dont think it's possible.
