Pleasant owner who initially wanted cash payment as the ‘creditcard was being update’ but in the end she was very accommodating and we managed a creditcard payment (with an extra cost). An old fashioned, tired and in need of some refurbishing. Strange showerhead that my tall husband was not able to stand under. It was cramped with oversized furniture and far too much in the way of trinkets and notices on the walls. Our room was a box without a window.

• Lorenzo (8/5): Secure safe haven to rest and revitalize before really starting your trip. - I arrived in Guatemala very tired and late in the evening so I looked for a hostel close to the airport to sleep before moving on the next morning. The hotel is 5 minutes away from the airport and the staff picked me up at the airport for an extra 10$. Communication from the hotel was very good. I booked the hotel in the morning just before my first flight and send them a message to pick me up, at my transit I saw they send a message back very quickly confirming the pickup. There communication was assuring, and I quickly knew that I would be safe upon my arrival in Guatemala and have a bed to sleep in. The owner was also very helpful in booking transport to Antigua for the next day, late in the evening. I think the price is a little expensive for what you get, there also wasn't any breakfast which I would have expected for this price.

• Richard (7/5): Safe accomodations in Guatamala City - Novohostel was very close to the airport. The owner was extremely nice and helped us order our takeout meal since we arrived late. The accommodations were very clean and well maintained. Novohostel arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport which was comforting coming to Guatemala for the first time. I felt very safe as there were armed guards to enter the neighborhood. The driver from the airport to the hostel was $10 which I feel was expensive. An Uber probably would have been a better option. The meals we ordered to be delivered were also expensive. I wish I would have planned better. There was a high fee for paying by credit card - pay by cash if possible. I thought breakfast was included but I could have been wrong. Either way it was only $5 USD so not too big a deal. There is a military academy across the street and they are a little loud starting at 5AM. Bring earplugs!

• Amanda (10/5): Great location near airport - We stayed in a triple bed apartment with a private bathroom, which was exactly what we needed—safe, clean, and comfortable. The windows had good screens to keep out mosquitoes, and we were able to walk to the airport in just 15 minutes in the morning. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late due to a car accident causing traffic, and she was very understanding. WiFi was reliable and water was hot for shower!
• Vicky (9/5): Short and sweet - Handy for the airport, super good at communicating and held me bag for a night whilst i adventured up to Tikal which was a great support Wasn’t able to get a hot shower the morning i was leaving but maybe i was just unlucky. I did try turning it on really slowly as the song signalled but no such luck. Thankfully with the warmth of the day it was manageable.

My flight landed late at night (10 pm) and I didn't want to spend 10 USD on the pick-up service, so I walked to the hotel (around 10 minutes). It was a bit dark, but I arrived safely. - The room that I stayed in basically has no soundproof. If there's anyone speaking in the reception area, you'll hear it loud and clear. - 43 dollars per night in Guatemala I was expecting more. The room is very basic and without breakfast.
• Maria (10/5): Perfect for a couple of nights stay in the city! - I stayed for a couple of hours over night after my flight arrived and again had to leave in the morning (4am) to catch another flight, and it was just what i needed! The host was very accommodating despite my late arrival. I made sure I communicated my times of arrival so she knew what time to expect me, etc. She provided me with arranged transportation (upon request and additional cost) so I felt extremely safe overall. I got my own room and bathroom and slept comfortably. The host was kind , friendly and very respectful. I would stay here again! Thank you so much!

• Mario (4/5): - I arrived to this overnight, pre-airport stay and was confused initially as this is a house that someone lives in within residenciales behind the airport. The house was similar to my grandmother’s home with an overwhelming number of personal trinkets. I was given a bedroom on the first floor near the personal living room that had an entire wall that was a glass window where anyone could see in and if you close the curtain there were no windows for natural light. Awkward also, the loud television show and repeated phone calls that the homeowner took forcing me to need to use headphones. There were at least ten spiders I killed in my less than clean bathroom that boasted a widowmaker hot water system- complete with electrical wire coming out of the shower.i didn’t sleep largely in part to spiders and lack of privacy and left before 3 am. I took plenty of pics though there is not a place for them here. Plus: hot water for instant coffee and WiFi for guest use. Pretty much all the positives I can find.

• Isabella (10/5): Perfect stay! - Great stay! I had to spend a night in Guatemala City before my flight and Novohostel was perfect! Lovely staff, good breakfast provided. Located in a gated street so I felt very safe. I was also allowed to order food to my room, with help of staff which was great as I was very tired! Thankyou :) Also, I would recommend getting an uber to and from the airport if you can as it is much cheaper than the white taxis (I paid 100GTQ for Uber vs 700GTQ for taxi outside airport) Nothing.

The bathtub is huge- where you (an adult) can lay down entirely. The entrance, room, and surrounding outdoor areas are beautifully arranged. The host goes above and beyond with kindness. She helped order and receive our dinner, drove my friend to the airport, and provided a nice breakfast for us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. It’s probably the nicest Central American hostel room I have stay in. Enjoy!! We sure did!!
