Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very very surprised - At first we did not mean to book this. We wanted a hotel.
But upon arrival- the directions were easy to get in.
The bed was made and it was very clean. We understood that we would have to take out our own trash from the directions but we were unclear about the towels and soaps. We were afraid of unreasonable hefty fines for doing something wrong-so we did not use the towels nor the soaps.
We did get plenty of rest. If we decide to rent an apartment next time we will ask better questions on how to use the items inside and where to leave dirty items.
I do recommend this place. It was a lot nicer than we expected.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - If you are arriving in the evening hours after sunset you will need a guide dog to find the entrance to this facility. The instructions for access to the building were not adequate.
- Lynn (10/5): - We enjoyed being right across the street from our Boston children and grandchildren and very close to the Maverick T. Our second stay was at 50 Lewis St and the only complaint is that our key did not let us into the pool area. My husband had to hunt someone down to let us in. Otherwise it was a great stay.
- Jodi (8/5): - I was not happy with my stay because the place I booked originally was not the place they gave me! I was told I would have City View from my room and did not... I had a view of the sidewalk
and another building!š¤ I picked this place because of the location and "The View" not just the location! Obviously this is something they do on a regular basis and I would not recommend this place to anybody because obviously they put you where they want to put you not where YOU PICKED! Also trying to reach a HUMAN was impossible! I had tried on several occasions to reach Lisa & mailbox was full! But to be honest the place was beautiful & clean great location from trains.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the place itself was very clean and quiet. However, not having a front desk person is strange. I hadn't receieved the check in instructions (i think they went to junk mail bc I searched and found them after the gal in the other lobby helped me). It was a bit confusing. I went to the wrong building. The area is so new that the uber couldn't find the address even. However, once I figured out the email it was ok. There were no blankets for the pull out bed that I could see, but that was the only downfall.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in is very confusing but the property couldnāt have been better. Wish we couldāve stayed longer!
- Les (8/5): no coffee for me - The coffee maker had no instructions, and no filters for the basket.
The cheese grater had no crank handle.
The air conditioning, refrigerator and bath fans are all too noisy.
I think there is something stuck inside the garbage disposal; noisy.
Parking is non-existent.
The king size bed is far too large for the space it occupies; can't walk around it!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful new property Located just across the harbor from downtown Boston. Lots of amenities parking during the day is a problem. We wanted to park her car and take The train into the downtown area but parking is limited to two hours. Parking on the street at night was fine. Very well I did and felt very safe
- Janai (8/5): - Pros: Located right off of the water, Evolve is absolutely gorgeous! The complexes are well-kempt and the amenities are amazing. Depending on which building you're in, you have access to a fitness room, work space (super helpful for business travel), and potentially a pool. It's steps away from the subway which was very convenient and just a 5-10 minute walk to restaurants & shops. Upon arrival, the staff were nice and responsive to the few concerns I had, immediately addressing everything.
Con: The company own units in a luxury apartment complex which is a great idea but it was quite confusing figuring that out beforehand. As such, I was unsure of the logistics of my stay until I arrived. Not a huge deal but something to think about.
- Pete (2/5): - Do not make a reservation here, no front desk, no one answers the phone, no parking, and they contact you after the fact to explain their lack of instructions on check in. Unless youāre on foot and know Boston really well DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Nightmare
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very clean, didn't get the name of the young lady that checked us in but she was very helpful. Gave us a parking place inside the property so we didn't have to move the car every 4hrs. I would stay there again and highly recommend them.
- Aaron (6/5): Lovely Apartment - Bad Management - When I went to check into the apartment (5pm, as I could only check-in after 4pm) I got the address and the lady at the desk explained that she worked on behalf of management for the building and not the company renting out the apartments. I showed my reference number & booking confirmation, yet she stated that she didn't have access to any information and that I should of been provided with a room number & key safe code. (Which I wasn't)
I went through my junk emails & I didn't receive anything. I then had to phone to agency and was put through to their out of office number. I was then given the room number & key safe pin. I was also informed that I was in the wrong building - and I was staying in a different one down the road. Again none of this was on my emails.
I then went to the correct address & was able to access the room. Sadly there was no welcome sheet or booklet that explains the facilities or how to access things like WiFi. Fortunately one of the buildings staff members (not the agency) showed me round and answered my questions.
I was shocked by the poor communication by the agency that rents out the apartments. Inside there was no cooking basics, like oil, salt pepper nor washing up liquid. Only one toilet roll, not impressed when I booked in for 5 nights.
On a positive - the apartment & building stunning, gym and swimming pool were great. Fantastic social areas. Very close to the station that takes you straight into Boston.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating, we arrived early off a red eye and they rushed to get our room clean and while we waited allowed us to nap in the clubhouse room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location was perfect. The condo was lovely. The only things that could be improved would be to provide wash cloths and coffee filters. We were there two nights and loved it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice room and beautiful environment. Very warmly service. Comfortable bed, large bath tub. Nice restaurants nearby. Coffee maker is broken. Lights were gone for several hours though finally were fixed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved that we had access to the pool & rooftop. Parking garage was super convenient & well lit
- George (6/5): - The king sized bed took up the whole space of the sleeping area, without room for any night stands, and a reading lamp on only one side of the bed.
- L (6/5): - The property itself was very clean; however, there were a couple of things that didnāt make this ideal. While I knew there was no concierge service, the fact that we had to store luggage at the train station was not great. The apartment address doesnāt come up in apple maps, but luckily we were able to find it. The apartment is very close to the T, but thereās not much else around in its vicinity. The beds felt like they were missing the mattress. Not a bad property, but definitely not for everyone.
- Kristine (10/5): - Itās such a beautiful apartment it very clean and the location is perfect as it is close to a metro station and the roof top had the most beautiful view of the city.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to aiport and ocean. Check in process was clear. We arrived late, at 11pm, and check in was easy. Apartment is new and clean, lots of towers and amenities were great. However the bed is really bad. It made loud sound each time we more or turn, even just a minor turn. Also the AC kicks start at hour and makes terrible noise. We couldnt sleep well bc of these two problems. Everything else were good.
- Fnu (10/5): Simply Superb - It was one of the best places I have stayed so far š
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My daughter and I loved the apartment! And the view of the harbor in this area are beautiful! We will definetly be back!
- Daniel (10/5): Extremely nice - Very nice accommodation comfortable and clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The welcoming staff, the scenery, and the amenities mare this one of my best places to stay since traveling.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property well exceeded expectations and the staff was not only helpful but extremely friendly
- Ronald (10/5): - Good location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fabulous views from front of property. Our room faaced the side street. Easy to find. Convenient
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property is beautiful! Great space with a full kitchen and beautiful big windows! Everything seems super well maintained and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful- only complaint is no on site parking!
- Adam (2/5): - They denied I had booked. I had no room and spent well over an hour figuring out next steps. Very upset.
- William (10/5): Had a wonderful time. - Had a wonderful time. Combinations were exactly what we needed. Great location, walking distance everywhere.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We arrived at Evolve east Boston after a long haul flight at 11pm local time, before leaving the city the next morning. On arrival at the property listed on my confirmation it was very apparent that correct check in details had no been provided (despite a message being sent to them requesting this) and so we were left stranded outside the building until a local who lived in one of the apartments let us in. The concierge in the building had no idea how to help us or provide any further details. At this point, we rang the emergency contact number to try and access our apartment and I was told by a less than apologetic staff member that we had been moved to another building without notification and would have to walk across the street to the other building they owned. All this took over an hour to sort out when all we wanted was to get over heads down before an early coach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was great - fantastic room and everything else overall.
- Cassandra (10/5): Great furnished apt, A+ location - Loved my furnished apartment, it had everything I needed in the kitchen and bathroom and was quite clean and beautiful. Wish I had more time to enjoy the amenities, but at least I got to enjoy the amazing view and convenient location! It's right on the blue line so I was downtown by train in under ten minutes every morning.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS FRAUDULENT. NO ONE AROUND. NO ONE TO ASSIST. NO PARKING ANYWHERE. CANNOT FIND LOCK BOX. UNSAFE TO WANDER.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean new property in a great location. The view of Boston is incredible
- Nicole (10/5): Great for a family - Evolve was great for our family! It only took a short drive to get to anywhere we wanted to go. This location is clean, convenient, and well-maintained. We will surely stay again!!
- Larry (4/5): Evolved??? - I had confirmed reservations for July 19 and July 27. The first reservation was cancelled by the hotel without notifying me. Very bad experience. Our stay on July 27 was irritating. It was hard to find, there was no parking, no one would answer the phone. Our room, while clean and comfortable, had no soap or toilet paper. The cables to the DVD player were missing, and the remote was broken. I enjoyed the proximity to the harbor, but the surrounding neighborhood is seedy and there were bums sleeping in the alley.
- Steve (6/5): Better apartment than hotel room - These are un-rented units in an apartment building. The room amenities were outstanding (full size refrigerator, dishwasher, real plates, glassware and silverware. Included both a Keurig and a coffee pot. However there is no 24 hour front desk and no parking area. On-street parking was 2 hour maximum. Check in is not until 4pm and if there is a problem you may or may not get help from the receptionist. I checked early to make sure there was no problem and they has no record of my reservation (in fact they had no idea what Orbitz was). I called the number on my Orbitz reservation and was told someone would get back to me. An hour and a half later -- no call so I called back -- "Someone will get right back to you". Finally a 4pm, I went back to the receptionist area. The receptionist had changed so she called someone who told me my card had been declined (so why did you confirm my reservation, Orbitz?) I gave her the card number over the phone and within 5 minutes I had my room key.
Very nice place to stay but not worth the hassle of parking and checking in.
- Ali (8/5): - We wanted to be on the water front as I booked . They said my room was booked when I called to get the entry key. Well they had another property and we had to stay in mission Hill far from water.Oh well we had a nice visit
- Randy (4/5): This place needs to workout the bugs - This property is in a new area of East Boston that is not easily recognized by GPS. I was moved twice because of incomplete preparation of room. My things were taken out of drawers before the end of my stay. They were returned with a flimsy excuse. I was offered a gift card and a follow up call to make sure things were okay. I never received either.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Newer building close to transport - Convenient location and newer facility. Nice view but thereās building construction in front of your window
- Scott (8/5): - dealing with the staff was easy and prompt with answers. even though the management company is off site, they are reachable by phone. (it sometimes took a few minutes to wait for someone to pick up the phone, but they do. don't believe those negative reviews.)
- Yu (6/5): Property is good but no service at all - Cannot find any one help after 5pm afternoon, even cannot acess the building
- Verified traveler (6/5): Maybe go with a brand name if visiting - The property is not done yet so they should price accordingly. Furniture is very cheap and wobbly. Bathroom is very cheaply constructed. Trying to get customer service was difficult and not accommodating before arrival.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This apartment shouldn't be list
- Julia (8/5): Great Spot - Definitely an up and coming area. Close to the airport. Worth checking out. Very clean. The layout is a little strange but youāre not buying the place. Secure building have to pay for parking unless you park in the street and leave before 6:30 am.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Evolve East Boston - Could have been a good stay but the phone number associated with this property was no longer in service. Had to wait out in the cold rain to get another hotel through Expedia thankfully they were able to find me another place to stay.
- Christopher (2/5): Angry - There was no one at the desk or way to get in and no one answered the phones. I want a refund because it left us looking for another place to stay absolute last minute.
- Marisabel (4/5): Nice place but awful night :( - The place and apartment is great (luxurious, clean). Everything is provided. The only thing I did not like is that I was never able to communicate with anybody through their provided phone number or email to reserve parking. Also, this is not a hotel so people live there and the room beside us was having a party so very loud music was on. I only stayed one night and was hoping to rest but we couldn't. The room was very noisy and there was no one in the front desk at night to report this. We try to call to the phone provided but no one answered. I did not enjoy my stayed at all.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very bad experience - at the booking (on Expedia) I was told that this hotel is OK with dogs, and they didn't mention any additional fees about bringing dogs, and when I got there i was told that i have to pay additional fee of 75$ that was almost as 50% of the room price!!! (per night)
NOT OK!
I hate when hotels and travel web sites hide these details!
