- JN193 (8/5): Excellent views, historical ambience - Have been staying here for decades. It is so quiet and close to Canal Park. It is a mile to walk to the lift bridge on the lakewalk and always fun to do. There is a fridge and small coffee maker but no microwave. There is nothing for breakfast except those cheap snack bars and maybe a banana, that is why I rated it only a four. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Parking is a bit difficult, but if you get there by early afternoon you can snag a spot in the tiny lot. I think they charge in the busy times but I didn't pay in the winter. So many room choices, all with historical touches, very lovely.

- 663ferencp (10/5): UNIQUE HOTEL IN DULUTH - I spent only one night in the Fitger's Inn, but because of the endless possibilities, I had a very full program. The room was very comfortable and clen. The view on the lake was magnificent. I enjoyed the row of shops and restaurants in the basement, but most of all the old equipment and advertising material on display. I had a great dinner at the Tap Room, also recomeded.

From front desk and throughout the hotel the service is excellent. Personal friendly knowledgeable people ready to help. My room had a lake view with doublethick curtains to pull closed at night during a cold front. Comfy bed with overflowing pillows. Two big comfortable chairs and a table. Bathroom was well appointed with plenty of good towels and Aveda bath products. There is a shopping area just below the hotel one elevator ride away. Best bookstore--huge--helpful staff. Lots of gifts. Clothing stores. Large dog store. A brewery. And more. Also a nice restaurant just as you exit the elevator. Fitgers gives a booklet for discounts at many of the stores/restaurant. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere you need to go! Why stay at a chain highrise hotel when you can stay at Fitgers?

All this on the beautiful Lake Superior shore with a brilliant view of downtown and the harbor bridge. Lake walk is surprisingly well lit and well used making a morning run comfortable and safe as well as beautiful.

I enjoyed both and not having to travel out to go to restaurants. I’m gluten free and they have safe options. The boathouse has a dedicated gluten free toaster. I was excited to have toast at breakfast. Staff is friendly. I enjoyed the valet parking.

Our rooms were amazing and the convenience of having the rehearsal dinner at the Barrel Room (also highly recommend), our stay for the weekend and the wedding on-site was amazing! We loved to have places to shop and things to do and everyone was so accommodating. Highly recommend!
- Mackenzie (10/5): Couldn’t have been better! - My friend and I stayed unexpectedly due to a power outage at our planned hotel. Staying at Fitger’s was the best decision we could’ve made! Checking in with Geoff was amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our room was beautiful and we loved all the options for dinner and drinks. I’ll definitely be back (as a first choice hotel, not a backup plan!)

Every trip included a stay at Fitger’s. Even though I have retired from the steel company, my wife and I continue to stay at Fitger’s several times a year.

Set right on beautiful Lake Superior, the majestic Great Lake always sets the mood. Fitger's is an historic fabulous hotel with great restaurants and shops. Can't wait to return. The customer service is top notch. In fact we will be back in a couple of weeks!

Prices increasing while quality is declining.

- Katie (6/5): - great location on the lake walk, with stores and restaurants available. room was nice, view was great. coffee maker did not work well, filled up with water and i had to depress the tab to get the (HOT) water to flow out. disappointing interaction at the desk at check out. asked for tea in the breakfast room, was told there was tea in the room - well, there is coffee in the room too but coffee was available with the snacks. clearly disinterested in my experience with my stay and simply ready for the guest to leave. the check out experience tainted my whole stay, as the clerk had to drag herself away from her phone, and the extent of the interaction was literally a grumbled 'anything else? good bye' ... no 'how was your stay', no 'have a good day' and just the dismissive answer to my tea inquiry. i do expect a smile and friendly interaction for this price hotel. disappointing. loved the location, staff interactions ruined it, would not go back, too many better options than to deal with this again.

The staff is very nice and they make sure your stay is the best. We will return! It is nice to leave your car at the hotel and walk to downtown Duluth along the lake walk. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance from Fitgers.

- Safari33966214149 (10/5): Great hotel with a fantastic view. - Loved the old hotel and all of the options for eating and shopping right in the same complex. The view is amazing and access to the Lakewalk path is the best! The room was a bit dirty and needed some additional vacuuming. Boat Club, which is just below the Inn is what the hotel uses for room service. I at at the Boat Club one night and the food was terrible. I would not recommend going there for any meal or ordering room service. Overall though, Fitgers Inn is worth the trip!!!!
- j0rdanb12 (10/5): Weekend Getaway - This trip was very last minute. My wife and I had an issue with flights and had to find somewhere else to go. We landed on Duluth. I called Fitger inn at 11pm. The guy on the phone was polite and got us booked in a lake side room. The place was historic and fun. It is located right next to superior with great amenities inside and outside. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

From the moment we arrived, the manager went above and beyond to help us find a place to park our boat—no small feat in a downtown location. That kind of service really set the tone for the rest of our visit. To our surprise and delight, we were upgraded to what seemed to be the best room in the hotel. The view of Lake Superior from our window was absolutely stunning—waking up to it each morning was a real treat. The on-site restaurant located on the lower level was another highlight. With its outdoor seating, it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. We also loved exploring the hidden bars tucked away like secret caves—such a unique and cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was simple but appreciated, with complimentary coffee, bananas, oranges, apples, and cereal bars available in the morning—just enough to get you going for the day. All in all, this hotel delivered a unique experience with great hospitality, a perfect location, and memorable views. We’ll definitely be back.

Room was furnished nicely and had been maintained professionally. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. We felt pampered by our stay at Fitgers. Historic Fitgers site was fun to visit and truly a destination in itself.

- Benjamin (10/5): - Rating: 3/5 (6/10) Fitger’s has a classic, historic vibe and the beds were comfortable. The coffee was good too. But for the price, I expected more. Breakfast was only granola bars, which felt disappointing, and the place feels dated in ways that aren’t entirely charming. It’s fine if you want the landmark experience, but I’m not sure what justifies the cost.
