- Monica (8/5): -
- Emma (9/5): We had a wonderful stay. - Wonderful people and exceptionally delicious meals, dinner and breakfast. Very charming. It was unusually hot weather and there is no AC. The ceiling fan was very helpful in our room, but we were quite warm overnight.
- Jinsheng (8/5): -
- Heather (10/5): - Beautiful location, very comfortable and clean, friendly staff
- Katie (10/5): Beautiful inn located in picturesque Cape Breton - Delicious breakfast, with many options. Beautiful and clean rooms. Nice common space for guests to use. Tea available all day.
- Monica (7/5): Inn was nice, but would have expected more for the price paid. - Breakfast was good, would have liked more assortment of buffet items, breads, buns.
Inn was clean, nice decor, friendly staff. Windows in room too high, could not see out. No television in room, which would be nice for evening, as there is nothing else nearby.
Outside surroundings of the inn were not welcoming, nor cleaned up. Laneway up the hill to the inn was quite washed out and uneven.
- Hannes (10/5): -
- Emily (9/5): Thank you for this wonderful stay! - The breakfast was great. We loved the location. The rooms were very clean.
- John (10/5): Lovely bed and breakfast. - Excellent location on the Cabot Trail. We stayed for 3 nights. There were lots of options for breakfast and they were delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was adequate in size. The bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean.

- English (9/5): Very charming and enhanced our experience of the Cabot Trail. - It was charming and comfortable and feels of the place (versus generic hotel). Maybe water and refreshments in the room is a simple thing.
- Thomas (10/5): It was wonderful. - The breakfast was probably the best we have ever had. The location was perfect for the Cabot Trail.
We could not have been happier. The doors closed loudly so that did wake us up a couple of times from neighbors.
- Frederick (10/5): -
- Tamir (10/5): A fabulouys stay one of the very best in Nova Scotia - The stylem decoration, comfort and dinner Nothing
- Chris (8/5): - Ideal location to start the cape Breton trail, a very good breakfast with friendly staff, room cosy and as expected with an old building
- Michele (9/5): Excellent hospitality in the traditional style - The dinner and breakfast were superb. The hosts were very obliging and it had old school charm. The bedroom was a little dark

- Vera (9/5): -
- Harry J (9/5): Unusual, relaxed and set in a beautiful part of the worlds - The breakfast was spot on: good choices, well presented and beautifully prepared.
The camaraderie between gusts and chance to chat to others in the lounge area
- Victoria (8/5): -
- Nicolas (8/5): Great location along Cabot Trail - Great location along the Cabot trail. Very nice breakfast. Cozy rooms. The check out time at 10.30h is a little early given that breakfast time is until 11.00h. I find that a weird practice.
- Craig (10/5): -
- Lori (9/5): -
- Leigh (9/5): Tranquility on Cape Breton Island - The location of the cottage was beautiful. The manager was very helpful and the dinner was superb. It was perfect for us.

- Judy (9/5): We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it. - The view from the hotel was breathtaking. The breakfasts and dinner were delicious and the service was excellent. It was difficult to find the Inn. The signage needs to be better.
- Steve (10/5): - Great location very nice and helpful staff would stay there again 100%
- Günter (8/5): Zu kurz -
- Earll (10/5): - Really nice facility with great staff and cusine
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Beautiful property but very isolated. It is right on the Cabot trail which is nice. Lovely staff. The food is incredible. Delicious breakfast and dinner was an amazing tasting menu. We had some minor issues with our room but not a huge deal. Overall a lovely place to stay if you want to be isolated.
- Jennifer (10/5): - We enjoyed our quiet, clean and nicely decorated cabin - and the amazing view to the outdoors from it. And dinner prepared at the inn by the owners was amazing!
- Mahim (9/5): -
- Bev (10/5): - Cozy, comfortable and welcoming Inn. A very pleasant host to greet you and explain the gourmet tasting menu and breakfast choices. Food and service is fabulous…and outstanding views. Nice size room and comfortable bed well appointed bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend for a quiet stay outside of town.
- Robert (10/5): Great place to start our journey on th Cabot Trail - The comfort of the suite ,
The lounge and the shower and the breakfast was terrific I could have used another luggage rack in the room
- jay (10/5): - Fantastic Breakfast!!!
Very nice common areas. No AC but the rooms were cool.
We had an issue with Booking.com screwing up the reservation, and the host did a nice job trying to help us find another place for a second night. Nothing
- Jacqueline (9/5): Excellent service and clean and comfortable accommodation. - The breakfast was delicious with a large variety of main dishes to order and help yourself coffee/tea/orange juice/ toast and muffins. Some complimentary tea and coffee and milk in the bedroom would have been helpful.
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Paul (6/5): They were very hospitable and tried to make up for the disappointment that we had. - Breakfast was very good. The dining room handled everything nicely. However, we did not realize that the inn was so far away from Baddeck and that caused us to not be able to do what we had planned. The description of the property should make clear that it is not in the town of Baddeck. If we want a stay in the country we would consider this spot again. We were very frustrated with the difficulty of getting to the property.
- Don (10/5): - Clean. Comfortable. Outstanding cuisine.
- Carol (10/5): We left our hectic life to enjoy some peace and the beauty around us. - The views were beautiful. The screened dining area was a wonderful place to start our day. There were books to browse, chess to play, communal seating area to meet your fellow travellers. The place is decorated with lovely pieces of furniture. No huge TV dominating the room. The staff were a pleasure to chat with.
- Klara (8/5): - I felt disappointed. This hotel is about 30 minutes away from the nearest town.
When we arrived, it was dinner time & no one told us that we had to have reservation for dinner. They were sold out for dinner. We had to drive 20 minutes to go to the only restaurant that was the closest place & had to drive back at night time on a winding road to get back to the hotel. When we arrived, the place was quiet and no one around. We had to go to sleep, there isn't even a TV in the room.
- Fraser (8/5): - It was peaceful
- Tammy (9/5): Beautiful stay and very comfy . - Very quaint and beautiful. The vibe is very comfortable. The dinner meal
Looked amazing !!! Be sure to reserve your seat fir it well in advance . Breakfast was very good on the beautiful patio. The beds were like a cloud. Would go back in a heartbeat.
- John (6/5): S - $$ was unexpected A
- Andreas (8/5): Chantarelle eine Oase - Die Stille. Die Natur. Sehr kleines Zimmerfenster.
- Karen (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay - Great ambience, very responsive staff, comfortable bed. Our bedroom was a little warm because there was no air conditioning, but I wonderful ceiling fan really helped.
- George (9/5): -
- Daria (10/5): - This inn is right on the Cabot Trail. We stayed in one of the cottages off the main building. It was a spacious kitchenette and well equipped with everything we needed. The shower was a modern handheld model. There was a TV on the property, and we were able to watch our favourite shows on Netflix and Prime (together with many of Prime’s associated channels, including Crave!!). There was a very unique restaurant on the premises that served a nine-course tasting menu. It was a wonderful experience and, I’m sure, a labour of love for the chef. Dinner that night was lots of fun. My husband and I highly recommend this place if you are ever on the Cabot Trail.
- Qiliang (8/5): -
- Ann (10/5): We had a great stay at this comfortable, beautifully situated hotel. Loved breakfast & dinner in the restaurant & - Fabulous views. Charming Inn. Lovely food & beverages. Welcoming, accommodating staff. Cannot wait to come back. Driveway is rough, grounds a bit messy and unfinished. No where to go for a walk once you arrive.
- Egon (10/5): Wir würden sofort wieder hier Station machen.
In unserem Zimmerpreis waren keine Mahlzeiten enthalten. Ansonsten alles wunderbar.
- Robert (8/5): Fun, comfortable cottage in the Gaelic Woods - we stayed in one of the cabins which was spacious, clean and comfortable for two people. the kitchen in the cabin was well-appointed and the cabin was very quiet at night. We had a fantastic breakfast (not included but affordable) and enjoyed our four course unique meal we booked at the restaurant there. the Inn is well located to baddeck and nearby kayaking but not located directly on the trails.
- Carsten (10/5): Wonderful stay during fire Hazard - One of the most beautiful accommodations of all time. Quiet, clean, friendly personnel from the owners to the cleaning staff everyone was friendly, helpful with ideas in what to do and the breakfast and dinner where perfect. Even more so as Nova Scotia had closed all Parks and woods due to extreme fire hazard. So no hiking, biking or even walking through. Literally nothing.
- Hans Peter (9/5): - Exzellente Küche!
- DOUGLAS (10/5): We felt like we were among friends the entire two day visit. The food was exceptional. - Beautiful start to the day. Cheery, friendly people engaged with us the moment we walked through the door! Breakfast was just to our liking. The coffeemaker in the room didn’t work.
- Jane (10/5): -
- chris (10/5): - Very good. Great ambience & very friendly owner and staff
- Hasso (8/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): Comfortable, clean, great breakfast, great location - On booking.cim Absolutely nothing
- Gerald (10/5): - Wonderful stay
Super charming, delightful host, super charming decor,
excellent breakfast
only hitch: no cell phone reception
- Tin Leung (10/5): Unplanned 3 day stay at Chanterelle - Very quaint, quiet, and relaxing. Great for a weekend retreat/decompress. Innkeeper Holger very helpful and friendly, went out of his way to accommodate me.
The food was exceptional. Just wish they will include lunch service. Wifi was super. Not much.
- Eileen (10/5): Charming and delightful - Beautiful B&B! The screened in porch was such a lovely place to sit in the evening and the morning, watching the hummingbirds. Breakfast was tasty, dinner was suberb, everything top notch.
Goed ontbijt. We misten de Adirondeck Chairs in de tuin... ;-)
- Craig (10/5): - Very nice Inn and staff were friendly
- Janet (10/5): - Beautiful, unique, delicious
- Suzie (9/5): Super!
- Jayne (10/5): Nice stop on our Cabot trail vacation. - A wonderful location surrounded by beautiful nature. The screened in room was especially nice for our breakfast in the morning. Bed was also super comfy. Host was very accommodating. No complaints or suggestions.
- Steve (10/5): Outstanding, we wish it was closer to home! - We loved everything about our stay at Chanterelle Inn - we found it a very homely, comfortable and relaxing place to be, from the warmth of the welcome, the informality of the shared lounge, verandah and dining space, the hospitality of Holger, Bettina and Lex, the comfort of our room and the quality of the food, plus the hummingbirds in the gardens. We loved our stay and wished it could have been for longer. There was nothing not to like - we loved it.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Beautiful B&B. Super friendly staff and very charming rooms. Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend
- Lone (9/5): -
- Dalton (8/5): - Lovely place to stay, tons of charm.
The restaurant experience is worth every dollar - the menu is unique, and every dish was excellent.
- Greg (10/5): - Situated in a beautiful spot along the Cabot Trail
- Erin (9/5): This was the cutest cottage run by a fantastic host! - It had a beautiful view! The host was gracious and accommodating. No air conditioning
- Michael (9/5): -
- Shannon (8/5): Overall would highly recommend. - Breakfast was amazing. The dinner was also really good. Its a super cute spot. Really quiet and relaxing. Room was clean. They are pretty tiny but nice. The only thing that we didn't like was that there was no AC . At the time we were there it was 30c outside and we had a really hard time sleeping.
- Anita (10/5): Zeer prettig verblijf gehad met heel vriendelijke eigenaren - Zeer mooie gezellige accommodatie met zeer vriendelijke mensen, heerlijk gegeten en prima ontbijt goed bed en gratis parkeren Helemaal niets
- Drew (7/5): Welcoming experience. Wonderful hospitality - Excellent dinner and breakfast Bigger room
- Betsy (10/5): Wonderful owners, accommodations, scenery, and breakfast! - Just so comfortable and welcoming from start to finish. N/A
- ericodin2000 (10/5): -
- Marlynn (8/5): - Good location on east side of Cabot trial and great hosts and staffs. Very spacious and lovely indoor and outdoor screened common area to relax. Many hummingbirds right next to you on the other side of screen porch. Dinner is wonderful. We had seafood. If you are super hungry from the hike though, the 4 courses meal may not fill you up. The portion is typical ‘ gourmet ‘ ( dainty) ! Our shower plumbing system was not done right and you can either get too hot or too cold water. ( room 1)
The window in the room is unusually high and not allowed any view unless you are standing right at it!
- Gerard (9/5): I enjoyed a comfortable stay and it felt like home! - I liked the location, the home, comfy feeling of Chanterelle. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The price of the room was amazing! n/a
- St-Pierre (8/5): Repos total - Tranquilite et personnelles chaleureux et qualifiés Rien
- Robert (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay and the host is extremely gracious and attentive but not intrusive at all. Nothing
- MARTIN (10/5): - Superbly situated for touring Cape Breton. Very comfortable room with fast WiFi. The dinner menu is outstanding - different every evening. 4 options. Four course meat, fish, or vegetarian or 8 course combination of fish and meat. We had the meat first night and fish second night. Both delicious, imaginative, and portion sizes perfectly adequate (probably need to work up an appetite for the 8 course). The staff were very friendly and well informed about the area. Breakfast also excellent. And ingredients largely sourced locally.
- Jean (9/5): -
- Alleyn (9/5): -
- Don (9/5): -
- Natalia (10/5): Highly recommended - The location of the Inn is perfect. The design and accommodations are the highest quality and the most affordable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
- Barbara (10/5): - It was a lovely place to just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating. And the food, what can I say but delicious!
- Jeffrey (8/5): -
- Eric (10/5): -
- Julie (8/5): - A great place to stay while in Cape Breton. The Inn has a rustic feel and located in a great area to get away from the hustle & bustle. You can enjoy a lovely dinner and breakfast onsite or drive 10min along the river to a restaurant serving fresh caught fish & lobster or carry on further to the village of Baddeck.
This quaint Bed n Breakfast is a great place to drive the Cabot Trail - don’t do it in one day if possible. The hosts were very accommodating. And loved relaxing on the porch listening to the birds and watching the hummingbirds. If mobility issues, you may need to ask for the best option for a room.
