Vic (1/5): Wouldn’t stay here again paid over 200 a night for smelly facilities and no tv remote - Good location Smelled like weed, the room had a mildew smell that was never fixed. The room didn’t have a tv remote that worked had to go downstairs to get the master remote to use the TV every time we needed to turn it on or change the station.

Ricky (2/5): Stay away. Rude staff and uncomfortable beds. - Requested an early check in(called and spoke to agent) and said it would be fine since we were in town for a wedding. Got there to check in and the horribly rude front desk agent said she could not get us in a room at all even though there were 6 cars in the entire parking lot. Said "I have rooms available but I'm not letting you in until check in at 3". Came back at 3 and was still told we couldn't check in. Finally was allowed to check in around 5 (had to make a special trip between wedding and reception). Complete inconvenience and will never stay there again Pillows were super soft and flat and bed was uncomfortable. Stain on chair in room as well. Bathroom was not stocked on body wash/ etc and was not filled when asked.

Had to keep tightening toilet seat; bathroom sink stopper would not adjust water filled very slow to drain; shower water came out for tub and shower; stopper in tub was also plugged and slow. Had water above ankles when finished. Tile floors had not been mopped. Carpet had not been vacuumed. Not sure if edges around floor boards had ever been vacuumed. Easily visible was food crumbs and bottle cap visible between night stand and bed. Lobby entrance dirty and not swept. Tile floor in lobby and elevator dirty. Took 48 hours for dirt and elevator mopped clean. Refrigerator and ice was all good.

Kenneth (10/5): - Have stayed here multiple times for Notre Dame related events. Super convenience. Very quiet. Plenty of free parking. Check-in seemed like it was with a maintenance supervisor, but whatever, he checked us in. Room is big and basically clean. We went next door to the Holiday Inn Express for buffet breakfast (but I think this next door buffet is no longer available). Candlewood is great for its convenience and location. No frills but I don't care. It serves our needs. Would definitely recommend.

Linda (10/5): Best Hotel Experience Ever - When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly girl who we found out her name is Tammy. She made us feel right at home. With her smile and welcoming words. This hotel has a kitchenette with a full suze fridge a dishwasher and the room where the bed is is huge. There is a workout room and a laundry room which is included. Along with everything you need for comfort and cooking. Plusbthey are pet friendly. Wonderful place.

We did have some allergy issues that probablycame from people's pets, and there was weed in the elevator (one of us has an epipen level allergy to weed). We noticed that although guests didn't smoke (cigarettes) near the entrance door, staff did. It was quiet enough despite noisy neighbors. My wife said she would feel safe here if she were traveling alone.

Expedia "didn't push the reservation through" & the hotel was oversold due to a home Notre Dame football game. I had to get a room nearby for twice the cost.

The kitchen overhead light didn't work either, so the room was dark. I told the front office, but they were not able to fix it until the day before we left, and it never did get fixed.

The shower would not drain and neither did the sink. It was noisey all the time and no one ever cleaned the elevators, halls, carpets. Everything smelled bad. I still have traumatic experience and get grossed out every time I think of this place.

Then our room it seemed clean but it did look like 2 year old calked around the tub and toilet. Found a hair ball on the floor in the kitchen…?????
Michael (8/5): A nice hotel let down by not smoked in non-smoking rooms and the maids - We had a suite and it as large and had great features, lots of tv channels, was quiet, great bedding, hot water, good refrigerator. Parking is easy, areas is safe, front desk checkin lady was super nice. Non-smoking hotel and non-smoking listed directly on the room. Room reeked of smoke. Horribly. Do not disturb sigs are magnetic and the doors are not metal, so they don't stick. Cleanliness not great. Walking around barefoot had black dirt coming off my feet in the shower. Never had this at any hotel before, and I am constantly on the road for 30 years in business, staying at same class hotels.

Cory (4/5): - I recently stayed at Candlewood Suites Mishawaka North, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. While the location was convenient, the overall condition of the room and hotel left much to be desired. To start, the bathroom was in dire need of attention. The tub drained slowly, leaving water to pool around my feet during showers, and there was mold around the shower area. The caulking was in poor condition, further contributing to the overall feeling of neglect. In the main room, the lack of USB plugs was inconvenient, especially in this day and age where charging multiple devices is a necessity. To make matters worse, the pillowcases had visible stains on them, which made me question the cleanliness of the entire room. The room also had an odd, unpleasant smell that lingered throughout my stay. The layout of the room was another issue. The HVAC unit was positioned right next to one of the beds, at the torso/head level, making it impossible to use without it blowing directly on the person trying to sleep there. Adding to the discomfort, the refrigerator in the room made loud noises all night long, disrupting sleep. The smoke detector above the bed had a very bright, blinking light that flashed continuously, making it difficult to rest. The elevator smelled of smoke, and there was no visible inspection license, which was concerning. Lastly, the emergency exit door was broken and left partially open, posing a significant security risk.

Virgil (1/5): The worst - Friendly staff I stayed in room 116 and there was water damage through the room. The room was musty smelling which I told the staff but wasn’t able to get another room and the fee wasn’t refundable. This is the worst room I’ve ever had at 130.00 dollars and to find the room in this bad shape was just horrible
Sheipline (3/5): Poor - Location Room smelled. Too expensive for lack of a pool. Very disappointed that I couldn’t cancel. Air conditioning made the room cold but still humid.
Michael (5/5): About as exciting as mayo… skip it - Older facility. Bathtub needs to be replaced. Staff wasn’t very attentive, almost felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there.
kathren (8/5): - We booked a room with 2 queen beds and it was confirmed. When we arrived they said they had no more rooms with 2 queen beds. Not sure how that happens when we had a confirmed room. They offered us a room with one queen bed which was not going to work. they did end up giving us a room with a king bed and offered to move us 2 days later but we declined that as it would be too much work to move all our stuff then. The king bed worked ok, not what I booked but it was ok. And just for clarification we checked in at 6:30 pm.

Joe (8/5): - It was a little hard to find since back behind Holiday Inn. Very nice suite with full size fridge, oven, microwave, plates and glasses. A quick trip for just overnight. Would be very nice for a longer stay.

Vickie (10/5): - Stayed for 3 days. Clean and nice staff. Only problem was our reservation was for a king bed and all they had was a queen. They were full and so apologetic. The bed was comfortable and worked for us. Will stay again in the future.

Robert (2/5): - They have more rooms that accept wheelchairs than parking spots. I was not able to park close to the entrance. Two many doors to work a wheelchair. Bed was very high making it almost impossible to get the wheelchair victim in bed. Was suppose to be a roll in shower but only had a tub making it impossible to bath.
Beverly (9/5): Would stay again - Big room with comfy beds. Very friendly staff, they always greeted us coming and going. Clean and comfortable. No organized breakfast. Had coffee and oatmeal along with bananas and apples. They did have microwaveable items you could pay extra for.
Francis (2/5): - My flight to this city (South Bend IN) was cancelled because of severe storms in Dallas. It was a prepay. Expedia pretended to care, but no refund.
Shane (8/5): - The staff was friendly, the room was clean and quiet, the beds were comfy, and the shower had decent water pressure. Con- There was the scent of marijuana off and on outside, in the lobby, and in the elevator.
Carlos (6/5): Needs a fine tune - That was our second time in this hotel and our first stay was way better. The check in guy wasn’t in a good mood apparently and in our check out day, the front desk was already calling our room at 10:40 AM even though the check out is 11:00 AM, so pretty much kicking us out. There was a water leak in the carpet right next door to the tile floor, the leak was there on Saturday and by Sunday morning still there without any yellow wet floor sigh or anything I mentioned to the front desk clerk at the check out and he said they were already of the leak

Kenneth (10/5): - Everything was great. The only con would be that with the full bathtub you could only shower and caulking had mold/needed to be recaulked but really when was the last time this wasn’t the case? Overall good value and quality for the money and I would certainly stay here again
Austin (10/5): - We loved our one bedroom suite. We ended up booking an extra night and the staff at the front desk made sure we were taken care of. They were so nice. Place was quiet and clean. Felt like our own little apartment. Unbeatable price and value. We’ll be back!

Amanda (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. - It was quiet and tucked away. The small kitchen was a pleasant surprise. The staff was always so friendly when we walked in! You could hear a lot of people stomping and walking above you. The shower head was pretty weak.
Gary (5/5): Passable - could not get door complete shut when in the room. had to rely on door frame latch to secure the room at night. told front desk, but was not fixed.
