- David (3/5): Worst hotel stay of our 10 day family trip - Having booked an expensive 2x queen bed room (mother, father and daughter) the hotel believed one of these beds should be a sofa-bed, because that was “standard”. We had to trail back down to reception to discuss after which we were put onto a 2x queen room, which the hotel staff were certainly classifying as doing us a favour! Breakfast was about the worst we have ever experienced. No real choice, nothing safely gluten free other than fruit; paper/plastic plates and plastic cutlery. It was the worst hotel stay of our 10 day family trip.

I had brought it back from Japan that day and was a gift for my mother.

Don’t waste your time or your money coming here. It is not worth how they treat people. I should have read the reviews before coming here. I asked to speak to the GM, Collin who couldn’t be bothered to help the situation. HORRIBLE!!!!!!
- jenniferwX9661IN (2/5): Avoid at ALL costs - Without question the WORSE hotel I have ever stayed in . We paid for a view room and had a “view “ of the roof but that wax just the beginning. If you don’t mind being up half the night ( starting at 1:30 ) with a broken alarm going off this is your hotel . We finally gave up our plans for the weekend and left at 6 AM with the alarm blaring AGAIN. My favorite part was the COMPLETE lack of management to help or explain to guests what was going on . NO ONE explained or offered help to guests who spent the night up going up and down stairs to wait outside . Would NEVER stay here again or any Hyatt if this is their guest “experience “ .
- lynnsieanda (2/5): Terrible - Our little boy got sick in the middle of the night he started throwing up and we immediately ran him to the bathroom got him and the trail cleaned up. We wiped everything up took the trash out and then we received a call from Colin-he stated, “ there was shi* everywhere.” And I explained our son got sick but I even scrubbed parts of the floor. When he stated why we didn’t call someone because it was the middle of the night and we did wipe and clean it up. Then he stated. “You’re going to be charged a fee and those were brand new couches.” No concern, no care just those were brand new couches. Very rude very unprofessional.

- Wesley (7/5): It was fine. - Location - perfect for our needs. Checking in - easy and friendly. Swimming pool - fun and easily accessible. Breakfast - deliciouis. Hot water - plenty for the whole family. Bathroom - the sink was just about completely clogged. Bathroom - the door didn't lock. Window - no curtain so light came in all night, keeping one person up most of the night. Cleaners - vacuumed outside our room for about an hour starting at 10:30pm. Pool - no towels (there were 30 people in the pool without a towel. When we asked for one staff delivered 6 towels and left.

- Alicia (8/5): Wasn’t worth the prices. - Breakfast waffles were hard and dry, freshly made waffle stand would have been nice. Oatmeal looked too thick to eat. It didn’t look too appetizing. Bacon looked scary too. The cotton in the bed comforters were so burnt it felt like you were sleeping with a blanket full of washed paper left in your kid’s pockets after a wash. Lumps of burnt cotton. No microwave in the room as well. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room as well.
- 392ambert (2/5): The cursed room - This was my second stay at this hotel. My first experience as a solo traveler was fine. This time I stayed with my family, and it was so awful we joked that our room must be cursed! Parking was messed up due to repaving, but the information provided by the hotel was very unclear about where we could park. There was window washing in the shopping center, including very loud beeping from a lift outside our window until past midnight! The phone in the room was broken, and staff tried to use it to reach us and address concerns after the first thing we said was that the phone was broken. The room was HOT. It felt like the thermostat did nothing. We actually had to run out and buy a fan to make it tolerable. It was ridiculous.
- Scott (4/5): Not so great - We showed up finally found a parking spot way out away from the hotel, go our room andnthwnnwentntongetbsomthing honeybee to the fact there is a massive amount of retail stores around this hotel when we returned we had to park farther away from the hotel than we originally did. The next day which was a Saturday we left the hotel to go and enjoy ourselves when we returned it was impossible to find a spot near the hotel due to the restaurants and retail stores. That evening it was about 80 degrees outside and the air conditioner stoped working in the hotel room. The next morning we checked out spoke to the person at the counter they said they’d give us $50 refund but we had to call and talk to a manager the next day (Monday). We never called them, it wasn’t worth the effort. All in all not very pleased with the hotel or the parking. It was supposed to be a bit more on the upscale side and it was really a horrible experience.
- samrlightbody (2/5): Stay anywhere else - The AC was broken, the room wasn't furnished well, and the staff had no idea what was happening with anything. The 'suite' was entirely unfurnished and the furniture had damage. The sofa bed had food left behind by a previous visitor in it. Avoid!
- Grace (10/5): Great! - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay in Salt Lake City! From check-in to check-out, everything about this hotel was fantastic. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Our room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable — exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. The location was perfect, close to great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Parking was easy, and the amenities were top-notch. We especially appreciated how quiet it was at night, making for a great night’s sleep. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Salt Lake City!

Only downfall were staff- staff were at some times welcoming and friendly, at other times frazzled and not so courteous. No lotion on site which was weird to me, usually that’s a given at a hotel. If simple, safe, and clean is what you are after- not a bad spot.

- Dan (7/5): Stay was OK, but we will not be staying here again. - The room was clean. Check in time was at 3:00, our room wasn’t ready until 4:30. Bathroom door would not lock. Some type of cover fell from the ceiling and narrowly missed hitting one of the us. No one was at the desk at checkout to tell about our concerns.
- phyllisr902 (4/5): Nice overpriced hotel with no AC in July. Hyatt should make it right! - In July, we booked two rooms for our four-day vacation. My kids stayed in a queen room and even though check-in time is 3 pm, their room was not ready until after 4 pm. After a long day of travel, the last thing you want to do is sit in the hotel lobby and wait for a room that should have been ready over an hour ago. My husband and I stayed in the king room which had a couple of issues. The shower drain smelled of ammonia and during our last two nights, we had no air conditioning. We would set the unit to cool, and the fan would run for 90 seconds and then stop. We contacted the front desk, and they offered us a fan. The fan helped but it was very noisy. The next day, we reached out to the front desk and let them know that the AC was not fixed and they offered a second fan and sent maintenance to check out the AC unit. While we were at the front desk, we heard another man complaining about the AC. We were told that they are having issues with the main AC unit on the roof and had to reset it three times the night before. Not once did the staff follow up with us to see if there were any improvements or offered a different room. One staff member said she would contact the GM and see if they could offer a discount, which would have been a nice gesture, but of course, she did not follow up with us and she was not working when we checked out and paid the bill. We paid a little less than $2,000.00 for both rooms. I know issues happen with all hotels, but the GM should have been contacted immediately when the AC was out in several rooms and the hotel employees should have followed up with their guests to make sure all issues had been resolved. Extremely disappointed with this Hyatt hotel. The rooms are expensive and with the prices they charge for a room, you should be able to get a room with a working AC unit. Hyatt should have made it right and offered a discount for the two nights without AC.

- Tory (8/5): A little surprised… - Nice area around hotel. Hotel room had stains on floor, wall and bed cover. Not sure if the vacuumed or swept before we got there. For how nice the area is around the hotel and the hotel itself, room did not reflect. Otherwise stay was fine.
- Cory (10/5): - We stayed here on a family trip to Lagoon. Lots of shopping and dining options within walking distance. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had great options. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the staff was very kind and helpful.

The staff was great, but it seemed like they were constantly cleaning everywhere, and yet when cleaning the rooms, they never did anything except replace our towels. I saw a vacuum on the cleaning cart but I dont believe our room was ever actually vacuumed. They never picked up the trash or gave up clean dishware.

Food was left in the refrigerator, garbage under sofabed. TV would not turn on and remote was lighting. Was told maintenance would be right up on day 1. At checkout day 3 still no tv. The room phone would not connect to the front

- kirasB4118UZ (2/5): We stay here every year and was very disappointed with our cleanliness of our room- we stayed in the suite and only beds - So disappointed in the cleanliness of rooms and a/c was impossible to enjoy in the room and the entire lobby etc. we stated in the suite and the room was never cool. The front desk was VERY amazing with our need of towels and blankets. We stayed for 3 nights and the cleaned our room once and made the beds but floors were never cleaned no replaced coffee mugs or paper towels. Would love to have come back to room being well cleaned and relaxing

- rn4naet (6/5): They need to improve. You have to ck the rooms first to ck the beds and cleanliness. - The hotel is not very clean any more. Steps are always dirty. Rooms aren't as clean and people in our group were put into dirty rooms. Some beds have not been replaced. The breakfast used to be great. They now serve boxed eggs that have dairy in them, yuck, instead of using real eggs. Workers were smoking pot and it was blowing through the vents every evening. Yet you see many workers in offices, they need to hire more housekeepers at a good pay.
- Michael (2/5): - Been staying at this hotel for about 5 years now when we travel to this area for business. We had booked a trip in two parts first part on my corp. card, second part on my husbands. Got in around 9:30 PM lugged all our luggage to our room, to discover hair on each of our beds as well as the washcloth that was hanging in the bthrm was stained. The walls were dirty with splatter marks in various areas, overall felt dirty. For the rate per night I found this unacceptable! We promptly checked out, I was told that the manager would have to approve my refund the following day (which they did) This unfortunately doesn not change the fact that I didn't get to bed until 1:30 AM by the time we found suitable, alternative accommodations. This was awful since I had a big presentation the following day, when I tried to get the second half of our trip (booked on my husband's card) refunded I was met with flippant, staff and extremely poor customer service not willing to work with me at all since I had booked through Expedia. I ended up losing $ through this whole experience which I find extremely unfair seeing as what was provided. Will not be staying her again and will definitely be spreading the word. Do better Hyatt Place.
