Guest Reviews
- Thomas (10/5): Very pleasent - Very friendly
Staff and helpfull Nothing
- Wai In (10/5): - A very pleasant countryside inn and the restaurant has very good food.
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommend! - The room was clean, comfortable and in a lovely location. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. But what stood out the most was the staff - welcoming, friendly and they all went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Thank you! Couldn't fault it.
- Rachid (10/5): Fantastisch - Prachtige ligging, mooie gebouwen, leuke kamers, super personeel, leuke bar en een fantastisch ontbijt
- Takahiro (10/5): -
- Sally (10/5): Would definitely return - Lovely friendly Staff
Superb Evening Meal / Breakfast good too!
Accommodation very clean and comfortable
Plenty of parking
- Danielle (9/5): Lovely place to stay. - Nice, peaceful place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Katherine (10/5): Very welcoming inn, great food - The food was delicious and the pub was cosy and the staff were really friendly. We had a family room that fitted the five of us in one room which wasn’t luxurious but was good value for money. Countryside location, about 20 mins on foot to the village, nice views. Spacious outdoor spaces, including a walk through bluebell woods. We had a lovely stay
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely place to spend a peaceful night. - This was an absolutely charming little gem that we found when needing to find somewhere to stay to break the journey down the A303. Despite us only booking an hour before arriving, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable and incredibly peaceful for an amazing night’s sleep. And the breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t have been happier with this find. Nothing.
- Jez (8/5): - Close to my brothers home so very convenient. We had a terrible cold when we stayed and that’s about it 🤣
- Louise (10/5): Lovely, lovely place to stay - The room was perfect, the view exceptional. The bathroom was well equipped with both a walk in shower and a bath. Nothing
- Jason (9/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): - Food and breakfast exceptional quality A few weodlice in bathroom but disappeared after a while
- Hannah (9/5): Wonderful stay - Charming property and staff who were all very welcoming for kids and dog. None.
- Joanna (10/5): Perfect, peaceful country stay in a traditional inn. - Large comfortable en-suite bedrooms all with outside access. Excellent food served in either the restaurant or intimate pub rooms all with real fires. Friendly, obliging and hospitable hosts who took over in August 2025 and who have great plans to upgrade and improve the facilities. We look forward to staying again. We liked everything about the place and our stay.
- Pauline (9/5): Great stop over. Staff and food amazing - The owners and staff were amazing and went over and beyond ! The rooms were little tired
- Lynn (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Very nice overnight stay with delicious dinner in evening - Great location lovely countryside
Big room and comfortable and clean
Great breakfast
- Trudy (9/5): Would definitely go back.. - Loved the room and very comfortable bed. Lovely and warm. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Very nice shower but the bathroom was spacious with a stone floor which was freezing, the only heating came from a towel rail.
- Paul (5/5): The heating went off at midnight and the room was very cold the hotel inn need to be refurbishing - Location The staff pressured me during dinner to take our orders then got the food selection wrong all in all not worth the £88 spent
- Adrian (10/5): I would recommend anybody travelling in Dorset to make their way there and stay it is amazing. - From the moment we walked in it was an absolute pleasure to be greeted by one of the owners of the Inn, she was so helpful and kind and even went out of their way even though lunch had passed to get us some hot soup, bread and a drink. You could ask for anything more The food in the restaurant was absolutely first class although a bit expensive it was well worth the extra money. I found I was about to leave and found I had a puncture two members of staff i.e. the manager and another gentleman called Bob took the trouble of changing my tire for me to get me out of this problem. All I can say about the staff and our stay was it was well well above average. Thank you so much for all that you did for us. Everybody that is going in that direction should stay there. It’s amazing. The atmosphere, the staff, accommodation, were all above above average well well above average.
- Charlie (9/5): excellent. - i live in herefordshire but work in fovant two days a week. i stay away once a week and a fast simple check in is perfect. key left in the door is fine for me.
- Susan (3/5): Spoilt by appalling manner and ineptitude of owner - Breakfast was fine. The stay would have been fine too if our arrival had been dealt with in a manner one would expect from any reasonable and professionally run hotel.
As it was we arrived at 3pm - the time stated for arrivals and after confirming that by phone. We were told that the room was not ready and to sit and wait for 20-30 minutes. We were tired after a long journey and due to attend a funeral 'celebration of life', a couple of hours later, so said we weren't happy with this. About 10 minutes later we were told another room had been found for us, but then were told it wasn't available after all!
At this point the owner appeared, told us to follow him to our room, enroute announcing that the cleaner would still be there for 20 minutes or more! Having responded that that was not practical for anyone, he told us firstly that we were lucky that they were not a 4pm arrival hotel like most others, and that we were lucky that his cleaner was prepared to work a longer shift in order to clean it for us!
I could not believe my ears!!
The term 'Faultyesque' ( Basil Fawlty) came to mind. We were furious at his audacity!
We told the cleaner it was not her fault and had to wait for another 20-30 minutes before accessing the room, having been told to sit in the garden and enjoy the views!
I am afraid that initial incident ruined what could have been a short but pleasant stay. See above.
- david (4/5): Disappointing after travelling so far up the country. - Breakfast meal ok, pleasant young lad serving.
Bed was comfortable. Shower door did not shut without a good hard slam.
Main door into the room had a big split down the middle
Bathroom door massive gaps top and bottom
Wardrove door not finished rough edges
NO heating available chilly at even/night time
- Rebecca (7/5): -
- ANTHONY (8/5): - Ambience service and meals Nothing. I enjoyed a good night's stay
- Samantha (6/5): Beautiful potential, nice restaurant and public house, cold rooms - The guest bedrooms were cute, the bar was accessible and the breakfast was quaint. It was freezing, genuinely, so cold in the bedrooms, heating unable to be accessed ourselves. We arrived late after a family bereavement and left for breakfast early, soooo cold.
- Kirsten (10/5): Wonderful stopover when seeing stourhead lights - The staff were excellent a wonderful breakfast with all we wanted or needed .nothing was beyond to make eating a pleasure .the accommodation was clean but tired but the price was great so for what it was we were very happy it housed 4 adults and 2 children was heated bedding supplied with milk and tea and coffee sugar etc there for us on arrival . Nothing to be honest
- wendy (10/5): Excellent - Staff very friendly. Could not do enough for you
- stephen (10/5): - A fantastic place to stay exceptional and friendly staff great food and beer Nothing to dislike
- Susan (10/5): Our stay was wonderful from the view from our room to a massive breakfast - Beautiful location. Loads of parking. Food is fantastic.

Perfect find for a family with 3 children, with a room big enough for all 5 of us to stay together.
Really delishious food and very friendly staff too.
- FAULKNER (9/5): enjoyed my stay, a little cold during the night, - very friendly staff, room a little dated

- Camilla (8/5): Beautiful location, comfortable and clean rooms and friendly staff - We had a very pleasant stay. The location is lovely and the rooms looked out across fields and dales, a peaceful place We booked 3 rooms which were all close to each other and very comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food and the owners and staff were all very friendly
- David (8/5): - Dîner and breakfast were excellent. The hosts were welcoming and attentive to our needs. The bed were a bit too soft
- JEFFERY (10/5): - We had such a lovely visit to the Coppleridge Inn, our room was very big & the bed was extremely comfortable. Our bathroom was big & had a bath & separate shower cubicle, everything was spotlessly clean. The food here is of very hight quality as well as the staff, who are very friendly & go far beyond a normal service to make sure everyone's stay is exceptional. The grounds of the pub are very pretty with ponds & lots of lush green grass & mature trees. We will definitely be returning to Coppleridge, thank you 😀 Its very difficult to fault Coppleridge, the comfort, food, staff & grounds are beautiful & a visit is highly recommended.

- Gaurav (9/5): -
- Orr Segev (9/5): Excellent family owned inn with great service and countryside charm - The staff were amazing - it’s family owned and they really cared that we would have a good time and comfortable stay. The farm land is really lovely.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent, rich and generous portions of everything. The tv in the room is very small and not modern. Usually we don’t care about it but it was raining heavily and we wanted to watch a movie and ended up watching on an iPad.
- Aanjali (9/5): - Amazing staff and food. Some of the best dishes we’ve had. Very dog friendly! Nothing
- Graham (8/5): -
- Janet (8/5): No -

- Eric (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Overall a pleasant stay, would book again :-) - Cosy, comfortable room with lovely views of the local scenery. Breakfast was excellent! WiFi frequently dropped out and struggled to re-connect. As a business traveller, a desk would have been helpful, rather than a small dresser with very low stool.

- Cheryl (8/5): -
- Luca (7/5): Amiccaamicca in caravan - La location era molto suggestiva e la camera molto accogliente Il caravan per 6 persone era un po' stretto
- Leigh (9/5): -
- Robby (8/5): - Fold out bed was less comfortable
- David (5/5): - The staff are friendly and helpful. Food is good. Place is clean. Nice gardens. The decor of our room was rather brown. There are large cracks running down all the walls. The place is tired and in need of some TLC and upgrading.
- Carla (7/5): - Ontbijt ruimte gezellige sfeer. Bij avond eten vuile glazen, alles voelde gezellig, maar vuil
- Ali_girl (8/5): - Great stay at the Inn on our way back home from holiday. Our family of four (2 adults, a 12- and a 10-year-old) stayed in the same family room as the one we had for our last stay back in 2022. The beds (double + single + sofa bed) were just as comfy, with a decent sized bathroom including a bath.
Lovely meal in the restaurant during the night of our stay. A bit of freshening up in the bedroom wouldn't do any harm, particularly to reduce the noise of the bathroom extractor and reinstate the bathroom door lock. Otherwise the room was in good condition.
Restaurant prices were a touch on the high side (£18 for a burger and sundries, £27 for the lamb), but that's probably a sign of the times!
- Amanda (9/5): Quiet, comfortable stay - We booked 3 rooms for a family occasion in the area. We loved the size of the rooms, the lovely views especially with the sheep grazing nearby. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Large bathrooms were bright . Spacious car park and very good breakfast.
I would definitely book again. TV was pretty small and the rooms could be freshened up a bit but loved the rustic charm of the place. As we were there on a Monday night there wasn’t any evening catering so cannot comment on that.
- Marco (8/5): Very nice stopover from Cornwall to home - Very friendly staff, really nice dinner, beautiful view. We appreciated the spacious room outside. It was very quiet. The rooms are a bit outdated and need some upgrading - nothing too serious.
- Kristina (10/5): - Moc příjemné ubytování, čisté, pohodlné, dobrá tradiční snídaně, příjemný personál. Okolí nádherný venkov. Využili jsme na jednu noc.
- Miranda (6/5): -
- Greg (9/5): Beautiful location and helpful staff - Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and beautiful location, very quiet
- Frans (10/5): Thuiskomen in heerlijk landelijk Dorset - Heerlijke rust!
- Robert (10/5): A very pleasant stay. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel. - The rooms access was great for us as we had 2 dogs with our group.
- George (8/5): Overnight stay - The staff were very pleasant especially the manager who is also very hard working and attentive. Not a particular dislike but the evening meal was slow but we were expecting that from other reviews so it did not affect us.
Reviews say it is a little tired but this is part of the character and it is very clean so no issues from us.
- Simone (9/5): Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder - Tolle Lage, hervorragendes Frühstück
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Sylvia (8/5): - Stayed in an overflow static caravan, OK for one night and very clean. The staff were friendly and good humoured. We had a good breakfast for an extra £15 each. The Inn was in beautiful countryside. Plenty of parking. Very quiet at night. I wouldn't want to stay in the caravan for long, but as it was self catering it was cheap and cheerful for a single night.
