• Keith (10/5): Wonderful stay - Everything at this hotel was first class. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Nothing at all. Rooms spotlessly clean as was the hotel throughout. Excellent staff are a credit to the owners.

Bath fascia had a crack in, room soft furnishings smelled of stale smoke initially, but then got used to this. Chairs in breakfast room all old and faux leather scratched off on most chairs.
• Laurence (5/5): Disappointed - The poached eggs were good Executive suite was too small, the tea and coffee in the room was terrible, the bathroom was too small,and no bath,the breakfast was only an hour served between 8 and 9,the curtains didn't close properly a massive gap was left in the middle when fully closed, hardly any staff around massively overpriced for what you'd expect. Won't be staying there again

• Kate (6/5): - It was an elegant house well converted and comfortable. The breakfast was good as was the breakfast service. The venetian blinds on the bedroom windows were great. The lack of on site staff was unsettling. The main door is locked at 10.00pm. I thought it would be nice to have a cup of tea in the lounge but the door was locked so it was a bit like boarding school with a curfew. They put London Pride beer in the fridge and the Spanish lady did not understand that bitter beer is served at room temperature. The breakfast room has a huge peacock ornament on long legs which isn't to everyone's taste. The temperature regulator in the shower was stiff and I had to dodge scalding hot water and ended up washing in the basin until my husband managed to move the controls. The overhead shower needs cleaning as it offered a dribble of water. It would have bern so much better if there was at least one member of staff on duty and staying at the hotel. It won't be my first choice to return to.

• Mel (6/5): I usually love staying here and choose this hotel above any others in Bournemouth, but may reconside - room satisfactory, like the tea and coffee facilities and water. Breakfast good but due to offering others cooked breakfast ahead of me I only managed a yoghurt and fruit as had to leave for work. Sink was dirty. I reported this to the receptionist who commented that they had problems with housekeeping. She did then clean the sink, but I was worried that the rest of the room may not be clean. I was offered a cooked breakfast behind many people who arrived after me-I may look like I am retired and can be leisurely but I am still working and had to leave.

Very quickly served and provided! Water was provided in the room! Great tea selection. Exceptionally clean! Warm room and windows perfcectly working so you can have fresh air if needed. The room was turned over daily. The bedding was perfect, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, attentive, chatty, smiley and always nearby. Launge has had free tea and filtered coffee for guests. Nice space to relax outside of the bedroom. I feel DM guest house is perfect for people who travel for leisure or romantic getaways than single people who travel for work. Breakfast hours are 08:30 am on Sunday which it was a bit late for me but it was worth it! I can't fault the place as it's really lovely! As it is an old building, you can hear other people's activities even with ear plugs, like bed squeaking, and some visitors who may not be as respectful of the early morning hours stomping on the wooden stairs, which unfortunately happened during my stay (weekend). (Room closest to the stairs). Derby Manor is still wonderul in it's glory!

Our room was awesome, huge comfy bed. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer, but we will definitely be back.

Parking at the hotel was easy. There is a bus stop nearby, and Bournemouth's buses seemed good. The location is a little bit out of the centre, on the plus side it was quiet.

• Shu (7/5): Good - The staffs we met are all very friendly and nice. The overall decoration is also classic and regional. We were give a last-minute offer so it’s value for money too but we may think it twice if the offer was not given. Our room is the smallest room and it’s very close to the stairs so space and noise would be 2 main issues. 1. The room cannot fit 2 people although double bed is offered. Once the door to the bathroom is opened, it’s very difficult to walk around. 2. Sound insulation effect needs improving. You can hear all the noises when someone walks pass the stairs or someone walks around on the floor beyond us.

We enjoyed the room and wider hotel decor with some quirky fittings. Lovely large bathroom with spa bath, Great location only 10 mins walk to overcliff path. Friendly welcoming staff and a good breakfast. Filter coffee or tea available in lovely lounge. Parking included on site. Breakfast was made with good qualiry ingredients and was well presented. There is a bar but it did not have all the drinks listed on the menu There were however alternatives available.

I would highly recommend staying at hotel as great location and staff are lovely its not the first time I have stayed here thats why I come back again and again great value for money. Everyone from arrival to departure were lovely. A special thankyou to Anna who served our breakfast both mornings, what a star she is. Smiling, friendly and efficient and delivering the best breakfasts anyone could wish for, Thanks Chef!

• Fiona (8/5): The room was comfortable, had everything we wanted. The lady on reception was lovely. - Room was amazing, thank you for upgrading us before arrival. Were surprised by the lack of plug sockets ( realising it’s an old building) only two available plugs above the skirting board, which were not handy for doing hair in the mirror. The windows could use some draft excluder I no it was a very windy night but even so could hear everything going on outside. Housekeeping needs to look up at shower head as the dirt slowed the water pressure down, and a tip for cleaning chrome and glass google magic wipes they really work. We were leaving to early to have breakfast unfortunately.
• Laura (4/5): More like a 3 than 4 star hotel, good location but room was a let down. - The location was good and the overall hotel was nicely decorated. It would be good to know that the front desk isn’t staffed after 10pm. As a solo female traveller, I’d prefer not to stay in places where the staff leave the property. The room was nicely decorated but smelt badly of cigarettes and it was also really hot when I arrived. I turned off the radiators and opened windows but it didn’t cool down. The pillows on the bed were really not comfortable, and I ended up having a sleepless night and neck issues.

• Sophie (9/5): - Great location I needed to invite a guest from outside the hotel and there was a guest lounge with a tea station where we could have an informal business meeting. Shower was cold in the morning but warmed up later so maybe my timing was bad or I sent the lever the wrong way (it has been known). Maintenance person was sent to the room quite quickly to assist (think it was about an hour or two), but if you need to be out and about in the morning it might be worth checking the shower at night. I was there in Feb which is out of season but I did see a bit of dirt hiding behind the bed which annoyed me slightly, but not enough to complain about.

• Peter (9/5): A quiet and relaxing hotel with great staff. - Quiet location, room was cozy and great breakfast. A very relaxing short stay. Bournemouth is great for sea front walks. As others have noted its clear that when busy parking could be a problem. It would be better if the hotel were able to confirm parking is guranteed. Could not find many places close by to eat in the evening. So if having to drive maybe when returning no parking space? This may not happen so just an observation.
• Christine (9/5): Excellent. Last minute booking and very happy. Thank you - looks newly refurbished. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Free on site parking (not valet) - very rare in Bournemouth. Brighter lighting in bedroom. Difficult to see to apply makeup

• Motiur (10/5): Wonderful boutique hotel - The reception was very warm welcoming and helpful. Room were very specious and well decorated. Bed were very comfortable and everything was spot on. The lounge was very cosy and equipped with complimentary tea / coffee facilities. Check out time at 10:00am, very small car park
