- MSchmidt2186 (10/5): Great CBD option for NOLA travelers! - This is my first time saying at the former AC Hotel / now Barnett. Great experience from the get-go! Booked through Amex so got some nice perks. Check in was a breeze - shout out to KC who made the whole experience super quick and painless. Most hotel staff are unaware of the Amex Perks but KC was on top of it and got us checked in and acclimated with everything super fast which was nice cause it let us get out to Drago's that much sooner. No complaints on location - you're either looking for the craziness of the quarter or the quiet of the CBD. The only in between is the grossness that is canal Street with the exception of the Ritz. About a 15 minute walk to the quarter or to the WW2 museum. Rooms were nice in bed was comfortable - wouldn't mind an extra pillow but that's a small complaint. Also very much appreciate that the hotel TVs have Chromecast especially since they're satellite TV was not particularly stellar. People would rather stream anyway so I'm surprised more hotels don't just ditch their cable subscriptions to begin with! Didn't dine at the hotel but had coffee at the coffee shop attached every day. Latte machine was busted and their cold brew was delicious but turned my stomach into knots. Hotel bar is fantastic though and big ups to their staff also! Overall five star experience. Check out was ironically also with KC who checked us in which we had a laugh about, and other than giving my preference on printed or emailed receipt that whole process took about 10 seconds total. TLDR is great staff, great location and great amenities. Will be booking again!

- Stephen455 (6/5): Good luck getting Breakfast - I attempted to get breakfast on Saturday around 7:45 am. I (and multiple other people ) wereRUDELY told breakfast wasn’t available until 8: am. (Website says 7am. ). They would not even accept a breakfast sandwich order before 8 even though many kitchen workers were on site. By the way, the espresso machine has been out of commission for at 2 weeks. This experience spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay.

It took until 11:30pm to get a crib delivered to our room. The staff are nice and friendly, but I wouldn’t find another option before staying here again. Location was very walkable

It has a perfect location, walkable to both the Quarter, St Charles streetcar line, downtown, and great restaurants. The staff is friendly, helpful, and made great suggestions for our visit. The lobby bar area is huge and staffed by the best bartender, Tyler. What a treat to have happy hour there with Tyler making the most amazing cocktails! The vibe is cool, and you can relax in quiet comfort in your room. HIGHLY recommend!

Our server Matt in Brutto Americano was equally thoughtful and efficient for a delicious pasta dinner. And Creighton in the breakfast room was fantastic, warming our croissant and muffins perfectly and being a cheerful face in the morning. Our bed was perfect and our 3rd flr room was quiet. My husband loved the exercise room, rooftop views and easy walking distance to the WW2 museum, French Qtr and river views. Thank you!

- 911cynthiak (6/5): Mediocre stay due to the dated rooms and inconsistent service - My husband and I stayed at The Barnett for five nights during Jazz Fest. I originally booked a King Deluxe room, but due to the hotel overbooking, we were downgraded to a double queen room for the first two nights. Despite checking in daily, we were unable to move into the correct room type until the third day of our stay. Unfortunately, the transition didn't resolve the issues; the new room was not thoroughly cleaned, basic amenities like slippers were missing, and the toilet handle was broken. Housekeeping also remained inconsistent for the duration of the trip - some days they wouldn't come until I called, and one day they knocked aggressively again 5pm despite a do not disturb sign. Don't be fooled by the updated common areas, the rooms themselves are very old and felt more like a warehouse than luxurious hotel. There are so many options to stay in NOLA that I cannot confidently recommend The Barnett.

They were genuinely warm, attentive, and eager to help. At check-in, I was given a curated list of local events happening that week, which added a thoughtful, insider touch and made exploring the city far more enjoyable. The team also recommended a great running route along St. Charles Avenue, just a block away, which ended up being a highlight of my mornings. The property itself feels newly renovated, with a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail throughout. The design strikes a great balance. It has a curated, eclectic style that feels both intentional and authentic, fitting seamlessly with the character of New Orleans. The location is another major advantage. It made daytime business meetings easy to access on foot, while also putting me within close reach of the city’s best dining, attractions, and nightlife in the evenings. Overall, a well-executed hotel experience that I’d confidently recommend.

The full-size fridge, table and chairs and sofa made it a good place to prepare for and relax after a full day of walking around the city. The hotel's location is ideal between the French Quarter and Garden Districts, on the St Charles streetcar line, a short walk from museums, with lots of interesting restaurants to try at a variety of price points nearby, plus a Rouses supermarket a couple of blocks away. The team were great - whether booking an additional night at a really good price, or keeping an eye on our hire car while we checked out, or making a decent non-alcoholic cocktail. For the past two days, he’s made the experience exceptional. • He treated us like the guests of honor, navigating the deck with total professionalism and making sure we felt right at home despite being the only "swimmers" in the bunch. - The Fuel: • The cheeseburger and chicken fingers are second to none—genuinely the best we’ve had. -The Verdict: • If you’re at The Barnett, go see Shawn. - Donovan (4/5): Over-priced, and downgraded room with no refund - Obviously nicely styled, with good cafe and restaurant I booked and paid for a Deluxe King Room. When I checked in, I was told that wasn’t available and that I’d be downgraded to a King. I asked how that is possible when I had paid in advance. I was assured I’d be issued a refund of 100 USD per night to account for the downgrade. One week later and that refund still has not been issued. Put simply, this hotel is way overpriced for what it is. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again nor would I recommend anyone to book it. How they can charge you for something they cannot provide is beyond my comprehension. I’d much rather support a small hotel than put up with the poor treatment from big brand chains.

The hotel was beautiful. Loved all the furniture and art in the lobby. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming and chill. It felt upscale, but not stuffy. The rooms were clean and well stocked. The rooftop pool was a welcome break from all of the walking. The employees were incredibly friendly and attentive. Everyone we met went above and beyond. Ray Jr The concierge is Phenomenal. His restaurant suggestions were exactly what we were looking for! If I ever come back, I would book at this hotel again. 10/10 experience and a great value.

We picked this hotel based on reviews (and pricing). The property was absolutely perfect for us. The hotel was super clean and inviting. From the moment we entered (actually before we entered as the bell staff was 5 stars all the way for the whole stay), the staff was super kind and helpful with a quick check-in. Our room was so much bigger than we thought - very modern, impecably clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The hotel is in a great location - close enough to the FQ to easily walk in a 5'ish minutes but far enough away to be less crazy. The live music at the hotel is a huge plus - free for hotel guests with a great selection. The hotel is close to everything you need. I'd be hard pressed to stay anywhere else on a return trip to NOLA. Great stay!

Based on the tone and conduct of multiple staff members, it felt as though the entire front desk team would benefit from comprehensive customer service retraining. My interactions included: Checking in at 11:00 PM and obtaining my room key Requesting reactivation of my key the following day at 12:00 PM, despite having already confirmed a late checkout until 2:00 PM During both encounters, I was met with behavior that felt abrupt, dismissive, and unwelcoming. The lack of basic courtesy—such as eye contact, a greeting, or even a complete sentence—was striking. For example, when I politely explained that my key had stopped working, the staff member avoided eye contact and responded only with “Room?” followed by a silent gesture for my key card. They seemed too cool to stoop to use the words "hello, please, thank you, sorry" with folks like me. Unfortunately, this pattern repeated across multiple staff members. The cumulative effect left me feeling not just unwelcome, but singled out. As an Asian guest, I could not help but feel that I may have been treated differently because of my race. That perception was reinforced when the tone of the interaction noticeably improved once my spouse, who is white, joined me at the desk. At no point was my status acknowledged, nor were any benefits, upgrades, or courtesies mentioned. I would strongly encourage management to evaluate the front desk experience more closely—potentially through a third-party assessment—to better understand how guests are being treated. It is disappointing to write this, as I genuinely liked the property’s decor and location and would otherwise have considered returning. However, based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend the hotel to others.

The location was great, so incredible food in walking distance, but also two street car stops from Canal Street. Close enough to do everything, but far enough away from the chaos of Bourbon Street to relax and be perfect for my family and friends trip with a 7 year old. Pool was heated and roof top on a nice day was fantastic. Overall, the hotel really added to our trip, it was more than just a typical hotel experience. The live music didn't hurt either! Fun to see in the lobby, but could not hear it once in elevator. Stop looking and stay here!

While arriving early, the staff took our bags for couple hours walking around town. The staff was knowledgable about locations and easiest way to maneuver to get around by foot. We enjoyed a drink at the bar where the bartender was very accommodating! We will definitely return to this location. It is a few blocks from the French Quarter and out of the confusion. The restaurant has 4.4 rating but we didn't get to go as we have plans with a friend.

When the change happened, we were skeptical that it was going to feel cold, steril and the charm that we loved about the Ace was going to be gone. We were wrong. While the rugs may look different, the color on the walls may have changed, the things that made the property so special are just the same...the people. No matter who is at the desk, you will be greeted with a smile a warm welcome and feeling of home. The bartender (with the incredible nails) is amazing. Even though they maybe incrediblly busy, they will pause to say hi to my daughter and make her a kiddie coctail. All of this is because the Shakela, the front dest manager. She has awalys made us feel at home and creates a culture that does the same. Here's a tip. If you like a place, ask folk's names. Ask about their family. Get to know them. They will 100% ask about you. Become a regular somewhere. Make a place home. As strage as it sounds. Everytime we head to NOLA, as long as we are at the Barnett, we are at home.

My room was very nice, I appreciated the amenities provided including the bedroom slippers. It was clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. The location was within walking distance of a few things we did so that was convenient.

It's like I wasn't even eating oysters before I came here. We were there back in December and I just found the trip advisor card in my pocket and realized I have not stopped thinking about those oysters ever since!!

There was a great cafe and restaurant attached to this hotel, and the cafe is open at 6am which was perfect for us early risers. There is also a big super market and a CVS a few blocks away which was a great convenience. All the staff we interacted with were so friendly and helpful, from the valet to the front desk to the cleaning staff to the baristas. The hotel bar is very popular and they were playing some loud music at night- we didn't hear a peep at night from our rooms, but we were also on the 9th floor- not sure what it's like on the lower floors. Our room had a big patio attached and it was lovely relaxing out there after walking around all day. Our room also had a large fridge that was actually empty and didn't have those stupid giant drinks that hotels typically try to get you to buy, which I appreciated greatly! We had such a great experience at this hotel that it has ruined all other hotels in this area for us. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in this area.
- Wanderer788368 (10/5): Three day stay at the Barnett New Orleans - I just had a three day stay at the Barnett and could not have been any happier I will say I was lucky enough to be upgraded to the garden suite which had a 500 sq foot deck complete with a dining table and huge umbrella and the room has a 15 ft ceiling and amazing windows all the way to that ceiling. However even without that amazing room I still am a big fan of this hotel with the super friendly and helpful staff being probably my number one reason. I would like to mention the manager Keke who went out of her way to make sure I would enjoy my stay I really like New Orleans it's an amazing city and not only will I for sure be returning but I will also be staying at the Barnett

But mostly I am writing this to give special praise to Shekela “Kiki” Coleman, Director of the Front Desk. There was an “inventory issue” and 2 weeks before our trip my reservation was mysteriously canceled with no warning or explanation even though I had booked 6 months in advance. They wanted to bump us to a different hotel which was not going to work for us. After speaking to several Hyatt employees who were no help at all, Ms. Coleman worked hard and with her efforts our reservation was re-instated. I was so relieved. On arrival, we were told that since our room was unavailable we were upgraded to a suite! Thank you, Kiki, for your hard work and reliable communication.

We were in a situation in which we had to unexpectedly add a day to our reservation because of a snowstorm in our state that we were trying to avoid. Whitney and I believe Robert, and Keke helped make this happen for us. When we checked in Keke helped to ensure that we were going to be taken care of and we were. We stayed in one room for a night and then transferred to another for the rest of our stay. Our first room was a king suite with bathtub and it was beautiful and spacious. Our second room was even more stunning with tall ceilings, windows and a patio. This hotel has a boutique and retro feel to it (green smeg fridges in the rooms). It was clean, spacious with a huge beautiful lobby/bar area for lounging, listening to a dj (on select nights) and eating some popcorn. Attached to the hotel is a cafe/coffee/bistro area in which I grabbed a sandwich, cookie and hot chocolate one day. On the other side of the hotel is the Brutto Americano restaurant. I ate at this restaurant every day for breakfast and my husband and I enjoyed a dinner together and breakfast together as well. The food was delicious! I would definitely come back to this hotel based on the experience we had. From the very beginning, we were treated with kindness. Thank you to the entire staff at the Barnett for making our experience enjoyable. From the doormen, front desk staff, housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant staff, we appreciated everything that you did for us and we will definitely be back! Also...great location! Just a short 15 min walk to the French Quarter. The pool was fun too, which we enjoyed on a warmer day during our stay.

The rooms were very clean and spacious, really loved the fridge in the room and the corridor I was in was very quiet. I loved the Saturday morning yoga and there was a drag brunch happening while I was there, which was fantastic! I especially loved being able to jump on the streetcar to go anywhere I wanted to since it was right at the corner! I will definitely stay here again!

- annemQ8531LB (10/5): Great Hotel for the New Orleans Experience - My college-bound daughter and I came to visit Tulane and experience New Orleans. The Barnetts' location was perfect for jumping on the St. Charles Streetcar and visiting the college and the French Quarter. The $1.25 cost per 2-hour ride made choosing this mode of transportation easy and the best way to see the city both night and day. The valet cost was very competitive with the surrounding public parking, and the staff was quick to help with directions. The room had a fun vibe that added to the New Orleans experience, and the in-room refrigerator was nice and big, about 2/3 the size of a regular fridge. The room had wine glasses, water glasses, mugs, and plenty of supplies for morning coffee. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The windows were huge and gave a great view of the city. The bar area was a great space to hang out with lots of different styles of seating that facilitated both privacy for some solitary reading or community spaces where big groups could congregate. We were given two free cocktails with our room, which was a pleasant surprise. The coffee shop had dairy-free chia pudding (one of our favorites) and other options that accounted for food intolerances. We didn't partake in the restaurant, but it looked beautiful and definitely added to the energetic feel of the hotel. We both felt safe the entire time and loved the friendliness of the staff. We had lots of questions about the area, and everyone was happy to spend extra time helping us out.

Old hotel with a mixture of design, but very clean. Our room was on the Carondelet side and was quiet considering.

She also helped me with local recommendations. The hotel is a old new Orleans style vibe with a nice warm pool and great cosmetics like shampoo, conditioner and lotion them have a unique smell. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. I really enjoyed my time at the Barnett.

Hotel was nice, but staff acted like we were the problem and we should be just thankful that we got the luxury of staying on their hotel. I normally take allot from hotel staff, especially during an event like Mardi Gras, but this was ridiculous. Here is an example... Knowing that iot was Mardi Gras, and the hotels location was close and it was all Valet, I called the night before and the morning before to check on parking and to see if there was anything special I needed to do (i.e. prebook a space, find another parking location, anything), but the front desk reassured me both time that "There will be no problem. Just pull up and we will valet it." We arrive and the valets are all just sitting around their stand as I see a different family frantically trying to unload their car at the front door. I ask the valets what was up, and they say :"We are full." I ask them what I am to do and they say "Don't know" So then my friends and I start frantically unloading our car. The street was full of bumper to bumper traffic and all the cars trying to unload guests were partially in it since everyone is frantically unloading while the staff is just watching offering no help. Later we find out from mother guests this has been a regular thing daily, so the "no problem" they gave me the night before and that morning on the phone was complete milarcy. I can name a few more instances but lets say the staff had a bit too much weed going and didn't give a crap. Hyatt has a great hotel physically, but the staff is going to ruin it.

The restaurant has great atmosphere and the pasta is delicious. Bathroom shower needs to improve - water was all over the floor. The tiles in our room were coming up. I did like the automatic lights that came on from under the bed and in the sink area.

- ShiraLafayette (10/5): Perfect location if you want to be outside of the crowds, but close enough. - We came for our anniversary to explore New Orleans. The hotel’s location is perfect. Not in the middle of the crowded festivities, but close enough to walk to it. The staff couldn’t be nicer if they tried. We were lucky to meet Keke at the front desk when we checked in and she gave us great recommendations.
- angelic8675 (8/5): Cool Hotel, Cozy Haunted Vibes - Enjoyable stay at the Barnett for a business conference. Very cool atmosphere - definitely an old haunted vibe here. The hotel felt very different at night than during the day. Has a bit of a musty older smell, but I grew to like it. Reminded me of grandmas house - and I prefer this over synthetic fragrances/chemical smells. Very cozy and beautiful during the day with sunlight coming in all the windows. Interesting history of the building. Great location - walkable to tons of amenities, close to Bourbon and Riverwalk. Hotel gym is great, I used it every day. Has nice variety of dumbbells/kettlebells for heavy lifters. 2 adjustable benches, a cable machine and some other weight machines. Some cardio equipment as well. Even had a box for jumps in a little stretching area with a TRX suspension trainer, lots of resistance bands. No barbells or squat racks, but enough to get a great workout in. I was happy with that. Also want to add that my room was SO quiet at night, it was nice for sleeping.
- Princeton60 (2/5): Would Choose a Different Hotel Next Time - Stayed at this hotel on my fourth trip to New Orleans after a friend secured a Hyatt deal. In hindsight, I would have preferred to pay more to stay at a nicer property in a better location. The hotel is far from most attractions, aside from one nearby museum. Check-in was slow, and the front desk agents came across as rude. While the hotel itself is interesting, it didn’t feel like a luxury property and wasn’t my style.
- 949mommo (10/5): Loved staying here! - I would recommend this hotel. The neighborhood and location were fabulous. The street car passed by right out front. The rooms were good size, and mine had a bath tub! The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the shutters on my window. The food and drink were excellent, and everyone at the conference had a great time. This is a really nice place to stay. It felt safe and fun. The location is great. Close to things we had fun doing, like a bowling alley. And it's also close to Bourbon Street. Good to see once. We walked all over town. Pack your walking shoes. Really a great place to stay. Clean and wonderful staff. A bit older building, but so charming, with great restaurants.
- rsbee (6/5): Prime Location, Missed Opportunities - Overall, my stay at The Barnett Hotel was just okay — a bit of a mixed bag. The lobby and common/meeting areas are the clear highlight. They’re stylish, inviting, and full of charm, and the location is a major plus. The hotel is conveniently close to the French Quarter, Riverwalk, and other popular downtown spots, which makes getting around easy. The room itself, however, was fairly underwhelming. The beds were uncomfortable, which made it difficult to fully rest. Staff interactions were also hit or miss; while professional, the team came across as somewhat aloof and lacked the warmth or personality you’d expect at this price point. Parking is another drawback. There’s no self-parking option, and valet is required at $50 per night, which feels steep and should be more clearly communicated upfront. The rooftop bar area is attractive and has good potential, but the loose brick flooring is concerning. It doesn’t feel particularly safe or well-maintained and would benefit from attention sooner rather than later. In short, The Barnett has great aesthetics and a strong location, but comfort, service consistency, and a few operational details hold it back from being a standout stay.
- 958danb (8/5): Amazing bar and restaurant, great service—ask for bartender Dimitrus. Perfect stay except pillows.!! - Almost Perfect Stay — Exceptional Food & Bar, One Small Miss This hotel had almost everything going for it and would easily be a five-star stay if not for one surprising issue: the pillows. Unfortunately, they were uncomfortable enough to affect sleep, which is the only reason I’m not giving a full five stars. That said, everything else was outstanding. The hotel bar was phenomenal, and the restaurant completely exceeded expectations. The menu was creative, well-executed, and easily one of the highlights of the stay. Service across the board was excellent, but one bartender truly stood out — Dimitrus. He elevated the entire experience with great recommendations, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. If you visit the bar, ask for him. Brunch here alone is worth the visit. You could easily spend an entire Saturday morning enjoying the atmosphere, food, and service without ever needing to leave the hotel. Fix the pillows, and this place is an easy five stars. I’d absolutely stay here again — just hoping for better sleep next time.
- O1773XHkellyg (10/5): Great people, great food! - I had an amazing visit thanks to Ashley, who truly went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. When I realized the wine I first ordered (which was delicious on its own) wasn’t quite the right match for the pasta I started digging in to, she took the time to help me choose the perfect glass instead. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality made all the difference. I can’t wait to visit again and see her behind the bar!
- Miranda (8/5): Cool looking hotel with nice amenities and central location. - Nice hotel with cool aesthetic. Location was pretty central for getting to different areas on foot or via Lyft. Enjoyed the convenience of the lobby bar, cafe and restaurant. The room was a little loud, despite being on the 7th floor. Could hear what was going on in adjacent rooms. Experience at the restaurant was OK, not great.
- Cyrell (4/5): Good service, but the room wasn’t as clean as I would’ve liked and there was no microwave. - Great interior design No microwave. Dirty room - found hair in the tub and something weird in the bed.
