Guest Reviews
- Putu Nanda (10/5): Best Stay in Ubud - We love the service and the view from my balcony. It is amazing and magical. The room is very spacious and clean. The breakfast is really delicious too. Definitely we will come back again. Nothing, everything is perfect
- shellen (7/5): - Lovely location They have now put in smart television but only you tube is available, as I was planning on staying 2 weeks I decided to find somewhere else
- Urs (8/5): - Im Zentrum, vieles zu Fuss erreichbar. Gutes Restaurant.
- Ha (9/5): Kinda good must try! - Food and the service staff The window in the toilet is nốt very good we can see inside if we stand on high place.
- Johanna (10/5): -
- ashar787 (2/5): The hotel from hell - I would give this hotel 0 stars if possible. This is the nastiest, filthiest and most unhygienic hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It had someone else’s blood stains and urine droplets on the bed sheets, ants on the balcony, and huge black rings of mould all over the bathroom. It was so filthy I checked out early-something I have never ever had to do before- and I travel a lot. I complained to reception and they moved me to another room which was no different to the first room- equally if not more dirty! I was promised a full refund but I still have never received one. Agoda who I booked this awful place with are playing stupid games and saying that my email address doesn’t match my booking when I booked on their app via my Apple ID. They are a joke and this hotel is a nightmare. It looks like no one ever cleans the rooms! Bali is full of beautiful places to stay- from wonderful homestays to swanky hotels. All being much cleaner, safer and with much better and honest staff. Stay elsewhere. This sorry excuse for a hotel isn’t fit for an animal to stay in let alone a human being.
- Tanja (7/5): Nice staff and perfect location, but the room really needs better maintenance. With more attention to cleanliness and up - Pros:
• Friendly and helpful staff
• Excellent location
• Great value for money Cons:
Peeling paint and mold in the bathroom
Dirty and worn-out curtains
- Sandra (7/5): -
- Dean (6/5): Short but as sweet - Restaurant and food was better than normal. They had good hot water and a bath. It well placed and fits it price range very well
- Amitantri (2/5): Required major renovation - Overpriced for such condition. No towels were provided, they said that the laundry had not been delivered. We had to ask again the next day. The room was ok, but needed to be cleaned better. Left over food from previous guests were still in the fridge. The bathroom was horrible, required renovation.
Front office service was ok but not too friendly for Bali standard.
Location is great, as needed to be as closest as possible to Monkey Forest.
- Jasmine (10/5): - Quiet area close to dining and shopping. Breakfast with monkeysthat come from the surrounding forest is very possible as they roam freely.
- Kim (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Wonderful location next to monkey forest. Quiet rooms, wonderful service and the restaurant was absolutely amazing. Feeding the fish each morning was a highlight!
- Edgar (8/5): Very good -
- Denisa (8/5): Very good -
- Diogo (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (1/5): This was barely one star- not 3 star as advertised - Arrived tired, young girl at the desk was v young and inexperienced, no one answered the phone before we arrived, so we could confirm directions, access to our room was poor, very dirty mozzie net, stained and dirty decor, but worse than that, there was no running water at all from any tap so we booked another motel across the road which was great and less expensive. Everything
- Ackzel (2/5): Terrible photoshopped property - I stayed in Bali at 7 different hotel this year and this was terrible, in fact I had visited u ud in 2023 as well and stayed at another hotel in Ubud which was so much nicer. This is a filthy property with all edited photos . In fact only four rooms in front look decent atleast from outside, all the other rooms are at the back in a filthy dirty garbage filled area. I will include photos I took of this property on 25 and 26 June 2024 when I stayed here and you can decide whether to stay here or not
- Anjum (4/5): - Very old property not maintained

- souvik_5 (10/5): Excellent stay at a very cheap price with great service! - The hotel was very nice for the price we paid. Pitri, the woman in the reception (and in-charge) was very helpful. Although we initially overwhelmed her with various demands from all the 6 rooms, which we booked, she actually kept her head cool and handled everything very well. The hotel is situated in a very convenient place in Ubud. The room was spacious. The bathroom was unique, clean and beautiful! The swimming pool was very neat and clean. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, which has collaboration with the hotel and it serves outstanding food, which they can deliver to your room as well. Just remember to place the order of the breakfast at the hotel reception the evening before. Overall, the whole property is extremely well-maintained!
- Joanna (7/5): Good -
- Wayne (4/5): Poor and over priced - Location Very over priced for the quality of the room
Poor aircon and noisy
I have stayed at Ubud a number of times and this hotel was extremely expensive considering where I have stayed previously
- Igor (9/5): Superb - Location is awesome, stuff is friendly and ready to help. Nice rooms. Monkey forest is near so you can not only visit it, but meet the monkeys on your balcony Some constant noise from water pomp. Monkeys during the day time is not and entertainment, but small minus as well: you are limited with having lunch outside whenever you like. But if you decide too live that near to monkey forest -- it what you have to deal with and don't blame Monkeys for their lifestyle))
- kimventures (8/5): Overall Good! Just Keep Expectations Reasonable 👌🏽 - Location is exceptional. Walking distance to everywhere, and every room has the vantage point of seeing the main attraction - monkeys!
Bed is comfortable, air con efficient and cold, and room well appointed with coffee and tea. 2 x bottles of water complimentary. There is a small fridge in room and the room itself is very big. Wifi worked really well. I felt very safe as a female solo traveller here.
Cleanliness should be improved upon, a more thorough vacuum and bathroom clean definately required! The bath has a really unfortunate stain and looks dirty even when clean. The amenities are dated and tired, and I don’t think there has been much upkeep. I do think this is reflected fairly in the price per night however.
Staff were welcoming and friendly and brought breakfast to my room happily. Breakfast was exceptional!
A little loud on the noise front, but hard to avoid with the location. I was on the top floor close to the pool. The noise from nearby bars dies down fairly early, about 10pm. Expect to hear traffic and some construction noises here and there through the day as with anywhere in Ubud right now.
This is budget accomodation so remember to keep your expectations reasonable if staying. Great spot to rest your head for a night or two if you want to be in the midst of it all.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Jc (8/5): Very good - the scenery around the hotel is very comfortable with a neat and very impressive rice field atmosphere. In the morning there was a sound on the roof of the room and when I saw the front porch, there were lots of monkeys in the trees. First impression is parking space is very limited only for 5 cars. And the room located in the old building with staircase.
The floor in the hotel room is made of wood and there are some that are uneven and when stepped on it makes a creaking sound and is quite disturbing when you wake up at night and want to go to the bathroom.
.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- GopalNandyala (8/5): Decent Hotel Great Location Amazing Staff - This was our last accommodation in Bali. As mentioned in most reviews, this is right next to the Monkey Forest in Ubud and also extremely close to quite a few restaurants. This is also very close to central Ubud ie Ubud Palace/Art market etc. Needless to say the major usp of the place is definitely the location. We got the room closest to the reception/entrance on the ground floor. Also as mentioned in numerous other reviews due to the close proximity of the property to the Monkey forest, we get frequent visits (raids might be an even better word) from the monkeys from time to time. Because of this we were instructed to always keep the sliding door shut. This is naturally a dampener but there isn't much else one can do about it. Kudos to the staff especially the ones in the restaurant for being able to operate under these circumstances. Also can't praise the staff enough for always being accommodating to every request as well as helping out without us even asking. Some of the examples of this would be the staff attending to a leak in the bathroom at 10 in the night (we had just mentioned the minor issue so that they would get someone to look at it in the morning) and our breakfast being packed on the last day (we actually said we won't be having breakfast due to the lack of time to catch our flight). We also made friends with the driver Gedeh who was extremely helpful and friendly. The review is rated a 4 instead of 5 because of a few minor things like the wi-fi reception in the room and the entire situation with the monkeys. All in all would recommend a stay here.
- Dhaiya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (8/5): Good spot - Beautiful staff and a good restaurant with a lovely rice field outlook. The monkeys come for a visit from the Monkey Forest but are chased away by the staff. A little tired but priced accordingly
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Norintan (10/5): Exceptional - Conveniently located, easy to walk to all the connecting areas
- MandyH424 (2/5): Hotel in desperate need of renovation - On arrival the hotel reception was a little shabby, but the receptionist was fantastic. We were shown to the king suite( or so we thought) that is we’re the excitement of being close to the monkey forest ends. The hotel is in very much need of repair and renovating as it is obvious it was closed during covid. The small hallway outside our room was very damp with peeling paint and mouldy, the rattan blinds were ripped and mouldy. In the room, the toilet was stained with mould were it had been cleaned and the sink was the same, the bath had lost its coating and was very stained and in need of replacing. The walls had mould patches on around the room and the cobwebs behind the TV were huge. The worst thing was the bed pillows, I checked the bedding as I always do to find two pillows had been washed but still had mould stains all over them, two other pillows were so badly stained they should have been destroyed and could not be used, also once the evening set in you could see the mould on the canopy of the four poster bed when you lay in bed.The pool has tiles missing on the floor which is a hazard as it is sharp we’re the missing ones we’re. Breakfast is also in a restaurant at the back of the hotel with limited choice which you have to choose the day before . We did complain to the receptionist who told us she would email the owner, but we have never had a response. If you would like a relaxing stay in Ubud, I would never recommend this hotel. We paid over $100 a night to stay here, and would never return . Extremely disappointing
- Nick (1/5): 5 days in beautiful Ubud ruined by this hotel stay, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in - The only thing we liked was the location and staff professionalism, and the restaurant which was not part of the hotel for breakfast The property is in disrepair, with black mould everywhere, broken and mould wooden blinds, paint flaking on the corridor ceilings, toilets mouldy and very stained, mould on the mosquito nets covering the four poster bed, mould on the fridge door seal. filthy stained bed pillows and black mould stains on the pillows also. stained curtains, toilet seat is plastic and has the top layer peeling off with yellow stains all over it, large dust webs behind the TV and in the corners of the room. The swimming pool has large patches of tiles missing near the water fountain, the sun beds some which have been replaced, others are broken with the wicker full of holes. The side tables around the pool have holes and broken wood on them, only one umbrella was a available for all the sun beds this was also very stained and in need of replacing. The pool towels were also thread bare and in need of replacing. On informing the staff, who were very apologetic, an email was sent by the receptionist to the owner who was out of the country. We have since heard nothing from the hotel.
- Alessandro (1/5): Bad - Location, beside the monkey forest, breakfast was good Place is filth , lots of mosquitoes and probably some rats were running between the walls. Mosquito net has a big hole and I needed to improvise with a sock to block mosquitoes to enter .
- Alex3004 (8/5): Very nice hotel in Ubud - Pluses:
- good location next to monkey forest;
- beautiful outdoor area with rice field;
- big spacious rooms;
- nice pool;
- very good restaurant with amazing breakfast. So tasty.
- good service.
- a lot of monkeys around,
- close to yoga barn, many restaurants, shops and massages.
Minuses:
- had to move to more quit room and pay extra. Originally booked room facing busy road.
- monkeys are fun during breakfast. But they like to steal food. Is fun. But same time a bit scary.
- C7015FYmichaela (10/5): Relaxing Times in Ubud - As most stays in Bali, the customer service is what stood out. The hotel staff at this property were outstanding and made me feel at home. The little details like offering me an umbrella when it was about to rain was much appreciated. The property is right next to the Monkey Forest, so you'll always have an adventure with a monkey or two appearing outside in your balcony. The property was beautiful - but the rooms could use a little upgrade. But no complaints here for the price I paid for (4 nights for approx. $100 USD - what a deal). I enjoyed the area with plenty of dining and shop options nearby, including a supermarket.
- Regina (9/5): Superb -
- Jeremiah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Curious801439 (10/5): 3rd stay in this great hotel - This is my 3rd visit to Ubud and my 3rd stay at this hotel. First time as a solo traveller felt safe here. Great location next to monkey forest with the added delight of having the monkeys visit. In town and easy to walk to any destination.
This is a small hotel with personal service. We booked the deluxe upper rooms overlooking the lush gardens, pool and rice fields. Bed very comfortable, room clean and good facilities with a nice swimming pool.
The restaurant is very good and excellent value. Included breakfast consisted of a fresh juice, fruit plate and a selection of main dishes all cooked to order.
The staff are friendly and helpful. I communicated with the hotel via email and booked directly with them. They answered my queries in a timely fashion.
This place is great value for money, in need of a little TLC following the two and a half years of shutdown but I would have not hesitation in staying again and look forward to my next visit. A big thank you to all the staff who made our one week stay so lovely.
- michaelgE8028HK (8/5): First week in Bali - After 2 years of waiting because of covid i finally embarked from Manchester UK to the island of Bali. I was on a 3 week stay and my first week was in Ubud, right next to the monkey forest. I arrived in the afternoon and check in was simple and i was shown to my room. I had reserved a poolside room which was nice and spacious. Comfortable bed and large bathroom with shower, there was a adequate size TV in the room if i so desired. You had to order breakfast the day before, not a massive choice but very adequate if you didnt fancy anything off the menu well you must have been very picky. Some fun with the monkeys at breakfast time, so you had to sit in the middle of the restaurant or they would come and pinch your fruit. But that was all good fun. All the staff were extremely polite and always smiling. Reception would always sort anything out for you, taxis trips etc. Round the pool was very chilled, the staff were continously cleaning. Only negative was nothing to do with the hotel but as its adjacent to the monkey forest you could hear the people clearing all the leavesup with those big hoovers, and that was roughly 6am in the morning which wasnt great. The hotel is situated next to the main road but you could hardly hear any traffic noise which is a plus. Its not far from Ubud centre about a 5 minute scooter taxi away. Thers no shortage of restaurants or bars etc but its not a banging place with noise, its pretty chilled and very affordable prices.
Ubud is a must see destination in Bali, and thers plenty of trips you can go on from there that arnt far away. I cant see anybody being disapointed with Ubud or the hotel. Great place
- David (8/5): - This place is practically next door neighbour to the Monkey Forrest - so that can be a mixed blessing - but for me it is all positive. The location is amazing - central and walkable to everything I need.
I found the reception staff very helpful.
I would happily stay again.
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (8/5): Very good -
- Sari (9/5): quite good for budget concern - good location, easy to access, nearby shopping and good restaurants a bit old and dirty
- Manuel (7/5): Good -
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Room was well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast good. Staff excellent. Facilities good. Noise from cleaning at Monkey Forest in early morning but this is our of hotels control. Toilet next to pool needs cleaning.
- Tonysindarwin (9/5): Superb -
- Jordi (8/5): Great place but cleanliness could be improved - Very good location, good views, nice surroundings and good breakfast Bathroom cleanliness is poor
- Valeriia (7/5): if you are wake up early then 6 am it’s good please for you. - very good hotel , amazing location, shower and comfortable bed and pillows. Good AC. very tasty egg Benedict. every day too much noise at 6 am they cutting grass around hotel. we stay 4 nights and every morning it’s noisy. we speak with personal but they can’t do anything. my husband even was thinking to call police for this reason. I’m the one who is stop him and explain it’s will not give anything. we are Indonesian they always in side of local people.
- Anonymous (10/5): Best stay in Ubud - Great value, spacious room, nice view, very friendly staff, good breakfast -
- Jevi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (6/5): Could have been so much bettsr - Great location near Monkey Forest and lots of restaurants I had to ask for the pool to be cleaned as there was a lot of green algae in it. We had a twin room which was nothing like the photos on Booking.com. Tiny balcony with no room to sit and couldn't have the doors open to make more room because of the monkeys. Pool loungers were all damaged and lots of ants. It could be a lovely place but needs more care and attention
- Smith (10/5): Exceptional - amazing location, extremely friendly staff, spacious rooms
- Pollard (7/5): Cute little getaway - Location is beautiful, staff is super lovely. Unfortunately both shower and bath didn't work, we had family staying in another room so used their bathroom.
- Przemysław (7/5): Good - Nice location, comfortable room, helpful personel.
- Philip (9/5): We have stayed at this hotel before and we would stay again, very good value for money. - Excellent location on Monkey Forest Road with easy access to restaurants and shops. Swimming pool was very good along with the attached Tropical View restaurant. Food at the restaurant was very good and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was good and fruit juices outstanding. Everything was great no complaints. You need to watch out for the monkeys who can be quite cheeky, do not leave food outside on the balcony.
- Pavel (10/5): Exceptional -
- procsamuel99 (10/5): Very nice hotel - Wifi and AC in the room were so good.
It was a nice pool and the staff were very helpful.
Being next to the monkey forest was very cool - sitting on our balcony and seeing monkeys so close was a rare experience.
Would definitely stay again.
- Kafil (9/5): Superb -
- Ciccone (7/5): Good -
- Sheila (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, pool and restaurant.Nice breakfast.Basic rooms reflective of the price paid.Lovely staff. Unkempt looking mattresses stored in stairwell on way to our room did not inspire confidence.
- becky_nztraveler03 (10/5): Great Stay - Great hotel. Lovely rooms and staff. Great breakfast with many options. Right next to the Monkey forest we could walk everywhere and enjoyed a massage most nights from the spa next door. The wifi in our room only worked the first night but the restaurant wifi worked. Would stay again.
- Sarah (8/5): Great room - Great little spot, comfortable and large room! Pool was in good shape and clean. The location is very walkable to many restaurants/shopping/bars. It is also right next to monkey forest, and those monkeys are a**holes. If you leave anything on your patio they will mess with it. The staff are super helpful and friendly, the restaurant was good, overall would recommend. Monkeys 0 stars
- Kenneth (6/5): - Liten frukost inget kaffe, säkerhetsfacket fungerade inte, klädskåpet gick i baklås, poolen OK,
Personalen inte uppdaterad på bokningen
- AnastasiaAngela88 (10/5): First Time Experience - I stayed here with my aunty during her visit to Bali for her 26 days vacation. So many place offered you cheaper price during pandemic. But we choose this hotel because strategic in Ubud (located near by Monkey Forest). The room is clean, staffs are friendly. But be aware of the monkey near by because they usually go outside to find foods.
I won't hesitate to recommend this place to my relatives.
Thank you for your hospitality and keep fighting during this pandemic.
Berjayalah, Bali.
- rumahsushibali (10/5): Cozy and nice hotel - Very nice hotel, friendly staff and located in central of ubud, if you want go somewhere around ubud can take a walk, and also next door to monkeys forest, room is big, clean, definitely we are gonna come back some day to this hotel, see you next time
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good
- Gee_P_75 (8/5): Not too shabby - Premise is easy to find.
Location is central, near to food places and supermarket.
My room was good but facing road. Pay a little more to get pool facing.
Beware of monkeys as they come daily.
Bfast was basic but pleasant.
Plus points- strong ac. Cold fridge. Good water supply.
Minus points - no floor mat and no small face towels. Does not provide hygiene products like toothbrush or cotton buds.
- imthecraziestdude (10/5): great location! friendly service! good hotel condition! - great location! friendly service! good hotel condition!
This place is always fully booked! other then that deserves 5 ^. monkeys are everywhere and its near the monkey forest!
staff were friendly and didnt have any issues during my stay!
walking distance to whatever you might need in Ubud!
I was staying there a few times!
recommended place!
cheers!
- giordanob161 (10/5): For short stays best choice in UBUD - with my family we spent 2 days in Ubud, very good hotel location, clean, nice staff; great price. I didnt try any food, so I cant help; they have two choice of rooms we took the one on ground floor, have been a bit more expensive buy gret for pool usage for children
- Foxtrotx (10/5): Monkey see, monkey do - Fantastic location next to Monkey Forest... so close that some monkeys wander around the pool area! So fun to watch them. Also close to many different restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping.
Lovely property and pool area. Hotel seems like it might be a bit old, but they have kept it up nicely. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. WiFi worked most of the time. Room included a safety deposit box and a mini fridge. Shower had hot and cold water. Personal preference- wished the curtains kept out more of the light because it was very bright in the morning. Staff was friendly.
I would definitely recommend. Do stay here!
- Robert (8/5): - Staff were excellent location great. Close to restaurants shopping massages and coco supermarket.
Not 5 star but very clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, nice room but a little noisy if room ia close to street. Ac adequate
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room we were allocated was mot shown on their website and was nowhere near as nice as the ones shown.
There was a lot of traffic noise as we were right on the road and the noise of the scooters made sleeping difficult.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Personnel sympa
Et souriant
Dommage chambre côté rue avec du bruit
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Karl (10/5): Overall opinion - Really good hotel with very friendly staff
- Hayley (10/5): - Gorgeous hotel! Pool is amazing with a fab view! Right next to the monkey forest, so you get monkeys wondering around the hotel. The staff were so lovely and helpful. Spoke brilliant English and arranged us day tours around Bali! Loved our stay 😀
- Poul Martin (10/5): Bo billigt og godt? Ubud Tropical Garden - Helt fantastisk hotel!
- Nichole (10/5): - Excellent small hotel. Rooms are beautiful & hv the best shower. Very close to monkey forest, easy walking to markets & restaurants. Big supermarket just up the round to get supplies. Would definitely stay again.
Room service excellent.
- Krystal (10/5): Highly recommend. - Amazing staff. Clean spacious rooms. Comfortable bedding. Working air con. Great location. Food delicious & authentic. Next door to the monkey forest, some would even come & have a play around the pool. Will 100% stay here again. Very happy with this hotel.
