- Gary (8/5): - So close to the beach very chilled vibe
- James (6/5): Pleasant - Beach location is great Very run down, bathroom smells
- Jean (7/5): Nice place - After refusing the first room i was able to get a nice confortable room the place is nice but not like the photos but its ok 👌 big balcony with sea view 🌊. Had internet problem 2 days in row , had 3 times power failure 😨, ot easy to park your moto bike very narrow lane , at 20 meter from there yuo have family who have Pork ,so be ready for the smell.
- Philippe (7/5): Good - location at the beach. The owner is very friendly. Bed was good and the room is cleaned every day WIFI was not strong in the room, and hot water not so hot, but not cold. Anyway good for value!
- Daria (9/5): Superb - Very nice small guesthouse right at the beach. Super cheap, but good value for its price. Stuff is super friendly, AC works great, all is clean and well maintained. We were really missing the blanket, but it’s the only thing I can mention I didn’t like
- Spitieris (1/5): 💯 Honest review for you and your safety, happiness & wellbeing when traveling to Amed 🫶🏽 - Absolutely nothing it was and is complete fraudulent and false advertising as feeling that I was being scammed, as well as stereotyped. The staff and owner were dismissive. , demanding, abusive, distressing, insensitive, misleading, unhelpful, abusive, cold and unfriendly and completely unlike the "normal" beautiful, karma culture of the Balinese and Indonesian people. I like the fact I could hear the ocean waves rolling in at night however early in the morning before what would be the crack of dawn there was shouting, from playing by kids and families, in the local college housing.
Being on the beachfront is always beautiful with boats and seeing the seaside however the premises was dirty and it should not be listed for accommodation purposes. I liked also that in fact no there was nothing further to like it was all fraudulent and really very dodgy Absolutely nothing it was and is complete fraudulent and false advertising as well as local scam artists that were pushy, demanding, abusive, distressing, insensitive, misleading unhelpful, abusive, cold and unfriendly and completely unlike the "normal" beautiful, karma culture of the Balinese and Indonesian people. I like the fact I could hear the ocean waves rolling in at night however early in the morning before what would be the crack of dawn there was shouting, from playing by kids and families, in the local village side and beach street house, Large, steep steps and side farms with animals making noise. Being on the beachfront is always beautiful with boats and seeing the seaside however the premises was dirty and it should not be listed for accommodation purposes. It was all fraudulent and really very dodgy. I booked a room with a double bed requesting in an email and a message to the premises for ground floor no stairs as I have had experience spraining my ankles early upon my arrival in indonesia, this request was completely ignored and when I arrived I was taken to a extremely steep high step of stairs without proper railing support to a bedroom with two single beds and a room that had not been serviced or prepared. Upon my return after being taken by my driver to a local warung restaurant for dinner as there was no dinner or facilities within walking distance and there were no street lights or back alley lights because this premises was only accessible through walking through a back alley for quite a while which was adjacent to many or a few homes as well as their pig pens and chicken farms as well as refuse area. So upon my return and going to my room I found there was no water provided there were no Kettle, cups for tea / coffee, there was no bathroom sleeps or shampoo as offered, or water coming out of the shower.
- Sheri (9/5): Superb - Quaint and lovely right on the beach. Soothing to hear the waves all night long. Perfect location in Amed.
- Rita (5/5): Passable -
- Aryana (9/5): You get what you pay for. - right at the beach, you have to walk through a small alley, where you will pass chicken and pigs.
My beachview room was very clean and exactly as advertised and I fell asleep with the sound of the ocean every night.
Other reviews stated that staff was not nice. While staff was never unfriendly, they were definitely not as lovely as elsewhere in Bali. But after I smiled into their faces they did always smile back. Unfortunately there was not a single hook, drawer or closet in the room.
- Pak (8/5): Very good - friendly, helpful staff and owner
- Miroslav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyndsey (7/5): Great location. Shame about the staff. - It was a stone’s throw from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The pictures showed the beds had mosquito nets but there wasn’t one when we arrived. We asked for one and were told there weren’t any. The staff were disengaged and miserable.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Location beautiful. And easy walk to everything. Quiet and right on the beach . Room was simple but clean and quiet. Aircon, mini fridge and no plastic bottled water they use a big ffilter pot and you can refill your own bottle. Shower to rinse off at the beach and nice basic bathroom in your room The walk in from the road goes past penned pigs that are a bit neglected. But it is authentic bali.
- Rini (8/5): Very good - Location is just perfect I asked for snorkeling ...my experience was not atall good even they charged too much for this
- Sebastian (5/5): Passable - Great Location at the beach and away from Main Street Mattress, aircon and walls need replacement / cleaning .
- Robert (8/5): Good value for money - Clean and simple. Aircon worked well. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Not luxury but happy
- Timmi13 (4/5): Too dusty - Very dusty. No mosquito net. First they offered me free scooter, but in the end I needed to pay for it.
- Jesse (8/5): Nice, basic room on the beach. - Right on the beach, very quiet, close to everything central in Amed. Staff were super nice, provided laundry service, also nice breakfast every day. Room was basic, but comfortable. If you’re getting dropped off or picked up by car you’ll have to walk with your things through some narrow alleyways to get to the property - even a scooter is a tight fit.
Couldn’t stop the AC from blowing directly onto the bed and only a sheet provided - luckily it was a canopy style so I hung my towel to block the air.
- Liina (9/5): Superb -
- Irvin (7/5): A good place to relax - Hard to find if unfamiliar with Amed laneways, beachfront location excellent, breakfast average No meals during day or night, but plenty of very good warungs along the beach.
In need of an update ! Everything is tired appears to have been built late 80s or early 90s
- Davordorjee (7/5): nice and clean budget rooms - Nice and fairly clean right on the ocean, I enjoyed it the bathroom was not the best, the water did not drain well
- Kelly (9/5): Enjoyed the stay at Amed Sari. - It was on the beach and the water was great. All good.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Literally at the beach and a very nice host
- Kassandra (8/5): Very good - I was sick and the service cared so much about me, they even gave me medicine, ginger and a ride :) The room says sea view but you dont really see the ocean from the room.
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional - Amed Sari couldn't be in a better location in proximity to the beach. It's a such a dream to wake up to the ocean and an included breakfast made by the gorgeous staff - Iluh & Wayan made my day everyday! Nyoman, the host, is incredibly generous with his time and assistance with whatever activity takes your fancy for the day. I can't wait to return to Amed Sari.
- Anthony (10/5): Relaxing - Great location, price. Helpful, friendly staff..
- Jan (10/5): Excellent - Excellent location direct at the beach
Super friendly staff, delicious breakfast!
- Liliana (10/5): very nice staff, very chill. would come again ☺️ - Quiet, clean, very close to the beach, dark room, coffee and water for free ☺️
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (4/5): Disappointing - The twin bedroom smelt quite bad, the shower door did not close properly, the taps were broken, the air conditioning did not work. The staff were never there so they couldn't help us when we needed them to fix things.
- David (10/5): Excellent value for money - The room was large and airy, there was a balcony with a full sized fridge and a 2 ring cooker. Simple cooking equipment was included, my room had a stove top coffee maker and half a bag of coffee. I never cooked in the hotel.
The hotel is on the beachfront and the bay was calm during my stay, like living on a 1km swimming pool. Breakfast was simple and staff were always available. The access to the hotel is obscure, if arriving by scooter do your homework with Google maps. Excellent value for money.
- Vshibaev (9/5): Superb - The guesthouse is very conviniently located at the seashore with direct access to Amed beach.
Very friendly owner and staff, lovely rooms. Pretty much everything was good.
The facility is not directly accessable by car, and they don't cook dinner. Neither of those was a problem.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - The room is spacious, comfortable, air con and WiFi works well. Hotel staff friendly and do a nice included breakfast. Great stay for a small price
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Staff were very accommodating and location worked well. Easy walk up the beach for restaurants to eat dinner at.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (5/5): Ok but overpriced for what it is - Breakfast was great No toilet paper or hose, the place is really hard to find and you have to walk over/around loads of boats to get in, no staff there when I arrived and it took a while for anyone to come
- Caroline (8/5): Great value and fantastic location - - several breakfast options
- flexible check in/out
- great location
- cheap airport transfer - slightly expensive but good transfer to Ubud.
- Aheddier (9/5): Superb -
(9/5): will come back next time - environment and stuffs are helpful and friendly I lost my mask and snorkel which I hang outside of my room
the door lock is a bit old , sometimes I can’t open or lock it haha
- Alexis (8/5): Very good - Localisation was very good and a nice room. Sometimes you can feel that the staff is just there to sell you something. Like a day trip or taxi trip.
- Tiedo (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (7/5): Almost Perfect except for a few things. - the location is on-the-beach. I took the 3rd room I was showed (on the top floor). The view of the volcano are spectacular. The view of the beach not so good. A good place to bring out ones inner bohemia. So close to being a perfect. BUT for the poor maintenance and the people who run it are far from warm and fuzzy (One gets so used to warm greetings in Bali). The reception is the Kitchen, the bar and the dinning room all rolled under a bamboo/metal lean-to.
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Anuar (8/5): Very good - Walkin distance beach -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ein besonders netter und zuvorkommender Guesthousechef.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Located right by the beach, about a 75m walk from the main road (although a bit hard to find when arriving at night). Staff seemed a little disorganised (I wasn’t advised that my stay included breakfast until the last night) and the room I received was not the one booked. Originally at checkin they advised me they were full, even though I had booked and paid in full. Room of mediocre cleanliness (strong odour in bathroom) and room serviced only on one day during my stay. Strong, well functioning AC.
- Stephen (8/5): Nice place - The location of this homestay is perfect for being at the beach with a view of Mount Agung. The rooms are clean with great A/C. The family that runs the place are really nice and helpful with any of your needs. I will be staying here again.
- celine (10/5): - - : eau froide
- Sabine (10/5): Great spot, great value for money, great service. - Amed Sari Beach is a great place to stay, tucked away from the main road, right on the beach, other restaurants and shops right there, great value for money, great for swimming, famous snorkel spot 20 minutes walk away.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Nice place, good price. - We booked for one night but when we arrived in Amed and had a look around we decided to stay on for two. The hotel was well located, although it was about 20 mins to sunset point and 15 mins to the nicer beach area with the best snorkelling. However we didn't mind the walk and enjoyed being further down the beach. The hotel has a little restaurant that sits on the beach so you can have your breakfast looking out to sea. We also had lunch for the convienence and it was really quite cheap. The room had ac and they have daily housekeeping which were both nice to have. However the bed wasn't particularly comfortable but we still slept well for both nights.
You do have to walk down a bit of a strange alleyway to get to the hotel, which is fine when you know where you're going. (Don't forget to stop and see the pigs halfway down the path who like to pop their heads over the wall to say hi.)
Would stay here again.
- Odile (10/5): A wonderful stay and a priceless experience ! - Authentic and romantic place with an awesome view on the Indian ocean and the sunrise/sunset, a beautiful fishermen's village ; great homestay, great staff, wonderful people who make your stay very special - welcoming, caring, helpful, giving precious information when you need it, taking you to beautiful places and events. Delicious food and substantial meals also. Very good wifi. The room is very pleasant and clean with a small terrace overlooking the beach. I just had a wonderful stay there, this place will capture your heart for sure. I recommend it 100%.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Krisa (8/5): Hotel on the beach, nice staff, good food - Nice quiet place directly on the beach, very nice people and good food.
- saswati (8/5): Nice hotel at the beach - The best part of the hotel is its location, on the beach, staring at the Indian Ocean. The sound of the waves relentlessly splashing across the stones and the sand can be heard from inside the room, at least from those closest to the ocean. I watched a glorious sunset and a sunrise walking a few steps off my room. The breakfast (included in the room rate) and other meals served were tasty. The room itself was ordinary per se, but had most of the amenities that tourists need. Free Wifi at decent speed was available. The electricity fluctuates affecting the aircon which is annoying given that the weather varies from warm to hot. I am told that this disruption is common across hotels in the surrounding, which is believable. The staff are quite nice. The caretaker drove me to my next destination showing temples and beaches along the way. He offered a very reasonable rate, and was pleasant and conscientious throughout the trip. All in all I would come to this place to stay at this hotel again, to laze around a few days at such close proximity of the Indian Ocean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One of the best B&Bs in Bali! - We loved staying here. The owner picked us up from the airport for half of what airport taxis wanted to charge. The homestay is right on the beach, some of the rooms have a view of the ocean and mt agung. We stayed a total of 4 nights and switched to a larger room once it became available. Both rooms had great AC, but both rooms also had a bad bathroom smell. Luckily when the bathroom door is closed it's not a big deal.
The breakfast each morning was great, the best banana pancakes we had were here and they offer eggs on toast alternatively (but take the banana pancake.)
