Guest Reviews
- Chrystal (8/5): - Everything was clean Bed was hard and no breakfast
- Rory (7/5): -
- Marcus (8/5): Highly Recommend - Super clean, great shower
- Angela (5/5): - Clean, value for your money The heat system run steady, loud, hard to sleep. Bed was a little to firm for my liking.
- Will (7/5): -
- Royane (1/5): -
- Barrie (8/5): Suited our needs. - Breakfast was adequate. We liked the hot items available. Beds were comfortable and room quiet. Didn't hear road noise and minimal noise between units. Good value for the cost.
- Alex (8/5): - Very well kept
- Harold (6/5): - We went with the cheapest room (single queen) and it was roomy and clean with some amenities. But at the lowest price, it came with only one pillow per side of the bed, one night stand, cable access with a limited package and a pair of chairs with thin cushioning. Breakfast was simple and the dining area was kept clean. So overall it was just okay in amenities but superior in cleanliness and staffing.
- Debbie (5/5): -
- Erica (10/5): - This hotel was well priced! Our room was very nice and had everything:bar fridge, microwave, double hot plate in equipped kitchen area, roomy bathroom and very updated. I’d definitely stay here again. Kind and helpful staff. The location was on the north edge of town just on the industrial area by U-Haul, walkable to amenities.
- Jeannette (10/5): - Pleasant staff, clean room. Great value!
- Mitchell (10/5): - On short notice management installed safety grab bars in the bathroom
Very friendly & helpful staff/owner
Very comfy beds
- Nate (10/5): - Staff is excellent
- Allison (7/5): -
- Timothy (8/5): -
- Kendra (5/5): Do not recommend! Dark, musty & uncomfortable. - Nothing. Whoever is in charge of taking photos for this property deserves a raise. The photos online look NOTHING like the rooms do in person. The whole building is dark & so musty smelling. The rooms are also incredibly dark, outdated and smell even more musty than the rest of the building. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and the rooms are not comfortable at all. My window didn’t even open! That’s a fire hazard is it not?! It’s so incredibly dark, the two lamps don’t help the one hallway light much and if you open the curtains, they don’t even have a sheer curtain to use so that people cannot see into the room. You either have to have it closed and it’s completely dark or open and people can see into your room.
I almost paid $200 for 2 nights and honestly, it should have been less than $50 for 2 nights based on the state of this inn.
- Chrystal (10/5): Great stay other than parafenalia and druggies hanging around building outside. - FindThe room was clean. the staff was helpfol. and the breakfast. Finding needles outside on the property. Too many druggies hanging around at night.
- Lori (9/5): Superb -
- Irena (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): - Highly recommend! Cozy, spotless, comfortable bed. Nicely decorated and maintained property. Unbelievable value for the price. Skip the chain hotels and stay at this place! Bonus - there is a balcony in the rooms.
- Billie-Jean (10/5): - The perfect affordable place to stay in DV.
- Antony (8/5): I will stay again next time I need accommodation in the area. - Very clean and spacious. Breakfast was a generous buffet with everything I wanted and included in the very reasonable price There was an electrical box near the curtains with a bright light inside, only noticed after turning lights out, so had to get up and cover it with curtain. From the outside the building looked basic and functional.
- Chrystal (8/5): Home away inn Drayton valley - Room was clean bed wet good Threw booking.com I was quoted $75.65 with no tax to be paid and they charged me $84. Won't stay again
- George (8/5): - Everything was good to excellent, except the TV. The volume did not work at all, i had to get the night manager just to get it to come on. Finally I just shut it off and went to sleep.
- Danielle (9/5): Very much enjoyed my stay there the staff was super commentating and room was always clean - That it was set up so that I could cook my own meals. The parking lot was nice and large. When I was there, it was in the middle of the snow melt so the parking lot was a little icy at times
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chelsea (8/5): Very good -
- Mctavish (1/5): Bad - I didn't get in tell late and no one was there 😕 had to stay in a different hotel No front desk person
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Excellent management - After a minor car accident left me stranded for 72hrs the inn and staff were very kind and helpful with my dilemma
- Chantelle (8/5): Great stay. Staff were very friendly - Own balcony Room always seemed a bit cold
- Leonard (9/5): Good value for money, but would be ice if they changed sheets daily. - value for money is good. Google has wrong entrace for arrival. the bed was not made every day. Just new towells
- Megan van der (8/5): - This is a low cost, good value property for basic accommodation. It's ideally situated for people working in the industrial areas in and around Drayton Valley. I was there for a weekend event at the Legion, and it was walking distance for that as well. Positives include very clean, great price and quiet. Drawbacks for me were difficulty getting enough heat in the room, and hot water not being hot enough for my showers. Rooms are worn, but functional.
- Ilka (8/5): Would book again. - The Location was very convenient, The room was clean and had a kitchenette. Everything to make your own little meal.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, Breakfast could do better, no warm meal like eggs, soccitches or pancakes,
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- 385harrieb (6/5): Bare minimum. - Very minimalist. You get what you pay for. Breakfast is bleak. The owner lives in the hotel so you always have to ring the front desk and summon him. One facecloth for two people. One stirstick and coffe condiments for us.
Like I said the place is definitely bare bones, dark and desolate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quick and easy access getting in
- Ervin (7/5): Good -
- Krysta (8/5): Was interesting until September - Hotdogs Buns
- Connie (8/5): Overall good - Clean , had what needed including breakfast Location was a bit isolated
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joan (5/5): Passable - Friendly and professional customer service Some bit of smile
- John Glen (6/5): - Property inside wasn't to bad but outside looked pretty sketchy
- Armand (8/5): - Beds are double a queen size should be for couples needs better mattress
- Maria Isabel (10/5): - Good customer service
- Wanda (8/5): Nice and quiet - The hotel was very quiet with very few guests over the weekend. It was hard to get hot water due to no one was using it. There was only one pillow each. Breakfast was continental with no hot options, just so you know. There were hard boiled eggs. For the price it was good.
- Harjit (8/5): - The tub was kind of dirty around the drain. But everyone there is great. Great for a quick stay and very well priced.
- Jessica (10/5): - Super affordable and clean. Simple accommodations.
- Makayla (8/5): - For the price you pay it was very clean and well kept. Will be staying here again!
- Jim (8/5): - Clean place, dated but maintained in good order. Excellent value!
- Kirsten (10/5): - Awesome service
- Anonymous (4/5): If I would have took the offer to change rooms it probably been different but I didn’t because of convenience across hal - Was great location and across hall from daughter and grandkids Lack of hot water each day
Also a smell of cooking with strong smell around dinner time till about 8pm coming up between walls to a opening in the wall under sink in room
- Terry (6/5): - All good until there was no hot water for a shower in ths morning! Asked about it at the desk and there was no responce or appology offered!
- Marlene (8/5): Very good -
- Dave (10/5): Will return - I've been impressed with the cheaper hotels in Drayton Valley. But I would have to say this one has been the best so far. Very clean, and nice features in the room. I very much like having my own balcony and stove top.
- W. (9/5): Superb -
- Lilli (7/5): Good - The breakfast was minimal but adequate. The jams and honey were very thick (maybe a little old already?). Only powdered creamer, no yogurts. We only spent one night so it was sufficient.
The location worked for us.
Everything was clean. The toilet didn’t seem to flush that well, but overall everything was adequate.
- Taylor (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): - It was a clean quiet property, with kind staff
- Bev (10/5): - We stayed here twice on the front and back of a motorcycle trip through the mountains. Both times the owners were wonderful to deal with. This is a true bargain - not only is it the cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at in years but the owners are wonderful to deal with. The only downside we found was having to go elsewhere to eat as there wasn’t a restaurant in the hotel. Highly recommend!
- Carol (8/5): Good value. Very pleasant & accommodating. - Hotel is in an industrial area catering mainly to oilfield workers. But they were very accommodating to my needs as a mature woman travelling alone. Rooms are spacious with good amenities. Very friendly staff. No hair dryer.
- Bev (10/5): - Excellent value & cleanliness
- Timothy (8/5): The hotel was quiet, comfortable, and squeaky clean. - Amazingly clean. Great value for the money.
- Jamaluddin (7/5): Main floor was Not soundproof, noises from second floor. - Clean room, good price. The put me on the Main floor unit, but there was lots of noises were coming from second floor.
Because it was not soundproof, so I could hear people talking on the second floor, walking, opening drawers, and everything, so it was distracting my sleep.
Those people on the second floor slept late, and in the morning at 5:30 am they woke up started making noise again.
If I would’ve been on top floor, I would’ve been sleeping better!
No breakfast
- Allan (10/5): I love it there always stay when I’m working up this way !! -
- Allan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional - This inn was way better than what I was expecting. It was clean, the room was large and had a microwave, coffee pot, and fridge. It was really nice and the price was so reasonable. There was nothing that I did not like.
- Mercedez (7/5): Good -
- Lorraine (9/5): Superb - The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Arlene (6/5): Ok to sleep for a night - Front desk good and helpful
Clean Smells old and stuffy; a bit run down
- Janeice (2/5): - All we wanted was a clean room, clean, comfortable bed and a hot shower in the morning. The room had a smell but it was reasonably clean. The bed was not comfortable but clean. There was only lukewarm water available so we couldn’t shower. That is why I am giving this place a poor rating.
- Shinya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- Hait (5/5): Passable -
- Rusk (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): A very nice modern motel with great desk people. - Liked the kitchenette in the room. Could have had Breakfast on premises. Not best location (industrial) but I did feel safe.
- Meghan (9/5): Great stay for the price - Comfy and quiet, kind and friendly staff. Be amazing if there was spa services of some kind in the future. Would definitely stay again.
- Kyla (9/5): Clean and quiet. - Clean and quiet. Nothing
- Craig (7/5): Good -
- Derek (7/5): Good -
- Kyla (8/5): Very good - Excellent value for the price. Clean room and friendly staff.
- Pam (7/5): Clean and worth the price paid. - laminate flooring in the rooms so no yucky carpets. price was good. tv was so confusing to use. could not adjust the volume at all or get any of the specialty streaming to work. Rooms need brighter and/or more lighting. Hotel also needs luggage racks.
- Dale (8/5): Very good -
- Lenora (8/5): - Clean, was close to where I wanted to be. Good price.
- Leonard (4/5): Disappointing - window duos not open
- Corrine (5/5): Passable - No breakfast No ambiance in the lobby or outside the building.
- Melissa (6/5): Pleasant - The location was quiet and out of the way. The room was large and security on the property was fantastic. The room was certainly dated and not great sound proofing between the floors.
- Dan (10/5): - Clean and recently renovated. Good value
- Verified traveler (6/5): - If you are looking for a basic place to stay that is clean - this is it. Not too many frills but a comfortable bed to sleep on and clean bathroom to get ready in. A little disappointed in the toilet that didn't flush properly but all in all it was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet, cleans and tidy, would use again if I’m in the area
- Laura (2/5): - It was advertised as a pet-friendly hotel and we had a reservation. We were turned away when we got there. He said there was only one pet-friendly room and it was taken. We drove more than an hour more to find another place after 10 PM
- Christina (6/5): Clean, nice, but noisy. Bring earplugs. - Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Unfortunately the walls were not very sound proof and I could hear all the movement from the room above...
- Kerry (8/5): - An OK stay in Drayton Valley. The new owners or managers are working hard to make this place accommodating. The property has been hard used previously. Amenities such as restaurant and casino advertised on the website no longer exist. The continental breakfast offered was more than adequate and much appreciated.
- Hotellover1011 (10/5): Best hotel stay! - Passing through DV late at night, I was hesitant to find a place to stay as by rather exhausted body was ready to fall asleep. This is where Home Away Inn at DV saved me, as I walked to the check in counter and was greeted by friendly staffs, I immediately knew, this place was esoteric for me to sleep through the night. From the moment I set myself into the bed, I was gulped by the comfort and the comforting amenities you can get calmed me. As morning approached, I was starving for some breakfast and I was treated to many food that fulfilled me for the day. Overall, this place was amazing compared to dozens of other hotels I stayed in, with this price. The staffs were so affectionate during my stay and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay at DV wether it’s for a day or for few weeks, as Home Away Inn at DV will be perfect answer to everyone.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good experience - It was a great stay. I was able to book with very little heads up and they upgraded my room due to some maintenance in the room I had booked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All was great...no issues or complaints.staff very cordial and helpful..
would use again
- Ben (4/5): - Cons:
- check in time states 3:00 pm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nicely renovated, friendly staff, excellent value, I would definitely stay here again
