• Julie (8/5): Sympathique hôtel péruvien avec une belle vue des montagnes et une chambre chaleureuse - Belle chambre rustique et chaleureuse. Typiquement péruvien. Vue de la démarre époustouflante et très belle cour intérieur pour un moment de repos ensoleillé. Loin du cœur de Chivey. Grand dénivelé. Pas loin mais un gros dénivelé pour personnes non averties.
• denimaric (8/5): Interesting architecture in amazing place - Basically slept over in this hotel for one night. I have to admit that overall architecture remind on some historical town. Especially the main garden with arches in circle. Closely resembling that scene where Odysseus comes to recruit Achilles. You’ll understand when you see it. Staff was helpful, when asked. Location is a bit outside the city. Transportation recommended to those feeling effects of an high altitude. Nonetheless, when I arrived to the room to have shower, I couldn’t get hot water. Waited for something like 5-10 minutes. Until I start feeling chills. That is why I will deduct one point for sure. Other than that, it was nice place to stay.
• Catherine (7/5): Good but not great - Everybody complains online about the breakfast. I found it excellent! Maybe they have change it due to the complaints, ours was great and with a ridiculous amount of options even for vegans The room they gave me was nothing as the one advertised was much simpler and older looking. The toilet was not working well, they were kind and fixed it, but it broke again… I took a look by chance ce and there were nicer looking rooms, just mine wasn’t
• Olivia (8/5): Hotel in beautiful scenic spot - The location was beautiful and just outside of town. The rooms were equipped with heated blankets, which could be controlled on both sides (my husband sleeps warmer than me, so he appreciated that). Everything was relatively clean. The breakfast was very bare bones. They made us super salty scrambled eggs served with stale bread and terrible coffee. There was no wifi in the rooms, but you could use it in the lobby area. The shower also didn't drain and you have to request for the staff to turn the hot water on.
• debbie4819 (10/5): Beautiful Landscape & View - 2 Canadian friends enjoyed our 1-night-stay that was booked through Exoticca. Beds were very comfy with a heated blanket. The days were warm but nights got a bit cooler. The shower ran warm... A walk around the property was delightful. Flowers were still blooming! There was a round tower that I climbed to the top to get pictures of Chivay. The restaurant food was good and breakfast enjoyable. Staff were very helpful and carried luggage to room. Many stone steps to get around and up to room. I would recommend. (Altitude was high. Oxygen available.)
• CummingDubai (8/5): Decent hotel to visit Colca Canyon - Hotel was decent with rooms accessed from the garden. Stayed in Chivay en route to the Colca Canyon. The room was well enough equipped . Breakfast was pretty limited. Hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre . Stayed as part of a tour but would have no issue recommending it if visiting Chivay
• kathW5036YD (8/5): Cute place with great views - Cute little rooms surrounded by beautiful gardens and views to die for. Bed was comfortable. Electric blanket and electric radiator kept us warm through the night. The breakfast was maybe not the best we had in Peru but definitely had plenty of choice even for veggies like myself. Coffee was lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant and my veggie portion was lovely and my partner loved his alpaca steaks.
• 470suzyw (8/5): Great view in Chivay - This is probably one of the best, if not the best hotel in Chivay. It’s up on a small hill at the entrance to town and have a great overall view of this sleepy little town. They have a very small staff, but everyone is super pleasant. The room was adequate enough, the hot shower was the best part of it and you do not have to worry about those cold nights in Chivay as they have an electric heater and heated blankets on the bed. They also provide towels for rental if you want to visit the hot springs. Overall, this was a great stay and would love to visit again.

• deerstop (8/5): Lovely hotel in Chivay - I stayed for one night at hotel Pozo del Cielo in Chivay at part of an organised tour of Peru. It's a lovely character hotel with views to die for from room. It was very cold at night, no problem with that, but there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. Great breakfast

• 535katrinep (8/5): A nice hotel just 10 min from the town square - A very nice hotel only 10 minutes walk from the town square. No noise during the nights. Nice comfortable beds. Heating blanket at the room for cold nights. I can recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
• Han (1/5): It’s a NO from me! - location was good. They mention they accept Credit cards which the do NOT. we had to pay in cash without receiving a receipt. we felt scammed!

• 514kylies (8/5): Authentic gem - What a gorgeous quirky original hotel. Very authentic, comfy and clean we a beautiful view of the town across the bridge and of the stars at night. Staff are helpful but don’t speak a lot of English and I think they may still be recovering from covid, I.3 no beer at the bar and very confused when pouring a rum and coke or a glass of wine! That said, food was yummy, good portion size and good price. Overall a good hotel but don’t expect 5 star. There is Wi-Fi but it doesn’t really work.
• acorna (8/5): Pleasant stay - The hotel is in a nice location, part of the rooms has stunning views to the canyon. Ambience of the hotel itself is also very pleasant. Additional bonus – it is very quiet, it was one of the quietest nights when in Peru. Rooms are convenient, beds are comfortable, contrary to many hotels in Peru, there are pairs of all towels in the double rooms, not only bath towels. It is not very warm at night, but there is a heater in the room and electric blanket (though it did not work in my room). WiFi is quite tolerable, with some hitches though. Breakfast was not so great – food selection very limited and some products could have been better.
• colinclement (6/5): Perhaps a 2 star hotel - We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting the coca canyon. The bed was very comfortable and the view was a great view of the canyon. The food was not nice in the restaurant but perhaps I chose wrong. I would not say don’t stay here but it was my least favourite hotel in Peru.
• N8964HSjamesc (8/5): A very pleasant informal atmosphere. - The rooms are simple but pleasant with a small sitting area and a pleasant view. The atmosphere in the dining room in the evening was delightful with many nationalities mixing and talking over a pleasant buffet dinner. All in all, a great way to prepare for the following day in the amazing Colca Valley and Canyon.
• kcran2017 (8/5): Rustic and colourful! - Stayed for 1 night during our 2 week trip to Peru. Interesting hotel! Rustic and colourful. Bonus to have heating and electric blankets. Best thing was that the planetarium was just across the road which was totally worth a visit.
• LCV_12 (6/5): Nice, except no hot water - We stayed for a night as part of a tour to the Colca Canyon. The hotel is pretty, so was the room. It was rustic and charming. The beds were nice, so were the linens. Breakfast was nice. The only problem was no hot water. There was no time to tell anyone since I tried to shower late at night and then early in the morning, but I have seen other travelers complain about this too.
• Ceejay22013 (6/5): Quaint but basic - This was listed as a 3 star hotel but to be honest if they had listed it as 2 star then the expectations would have not been as high. It is very basic, clean and simply furnished. Staff did not speak any English but were doing their best to communicate with the limited Spanish we offered. We did have a decent stay but with very limited offerings. Breakfast was fair and enough to provide a start to the day, limited overall.
• gazzagascoigne (6/5): Funny hotel - Located just outside Chivay's city centre, Pozo del Cielo is a picturesque structure, it seems you are in a tale, with little streets to reach the rooms and colorful buildings. The room was good and also the breakfast, the hotel was under some renovation so a little bit noisy. At the end is a good option to not stay near Chivay's city centre.
• Patriciacc62 (4/5): Average hotel but laundry a total rip off - Nice enough basic hotel which is a bit of a walk from the interesting village which has a good local market. However we made the mistake of getting one small bag of laundry (mostly underwear and socks) done and were totally ripped off on the price. They don’t price by the kg like most hotels, but by the item which meant about 4x what we paid elsewhere. So a single sock cost as much as a full shirt or trousers. We complained at the reception where the attitude was “yes it’s crazy expensive but management insists that this is what we charge”. We then got our tour leader to intervene and the manager agreed to refund half. (Although we were actually given less than this, and a shrug when we went to collect it.) Lesson learned. Breakfast was basic but ok. Internet worked at the times where reception were not streaming videos and YouTube.
