- Alan (10/5): - Friendly staff. Nice breakfast, close to town
- Europa Felizitas (10/5): - Sauberkeit und bequeme Betten. Freundliches Personal.
- Christina (10/5): -
- Cate (9/5): - Spacious suite with nice decor and great facilities. Easy walk to the city centre, catherdral etc, free parking. Everything was fine for us.
- Darren (10/5): - A lovely old building, quirky and great value forr money, decent breakfast and plenty of parking outside for free. Nothing.
- Robert (8/5): Pleasant place to stay - Easy to find, well located, looked after well and reasonably priced. Good breakfast
- Paul (10/5): - Breakfast was nice, plenty of it. Nothing really
- Kerstin (8/5): Preis-Leistung passte.
- Mark (10/5): So relaxing - So nice and so old the hotel is but it's beautiful here I'll be back for Def Notting
- Helen (9/5): Great base for exploring Canterbury - Loved this little cottage. Great location just a short walk from the centre of Canterbury. Clean, crisp white bedding and towels. Lovely relaxing one night stay and we enjoyed having the super garden to explore. Would recommend. Small point to note but only really comfortable seating for two people with others having to sit around the dining table. A slightly larger sofa would be perfect.
- t s (10/5): - Great property with really good service.Clean and comfortable stay
- shaheen (8/5): Beautiful hotel - Very beautiful decorated traditional hotel Tv did not work
Hygiene was top en aardige inrichting kamer. - Hygiene was helemaal goed, ontbijt was volumineus, we hadden kamer achterzijde hotel dus heel rustig, op wandelafstand van centrum. Behulpzaam personeel.
- David (9/5): The location staff and breakfast was excellent. - The location is close to the city centre and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
Also the breakfast is excellent with a great choice. The first room we had was quite small but we upgraded to a better and bigger room.
- Jo (9/5): Comfortable, convenient location and staff very welcoming. - Comfortable and convenient. Beautiful gardens. Very enjoyable stay.
- Lynne (10/5): A calm peaceful location with good facilities and great staff - Staff always friendly. Garden facing room lovely and peaceful
We had an issue with our shower and it was sorted on the day. Brilliant Everything was good
- Silke (8/5): Toller „englischer“ Abschluss unserer Reise - Der Stil, die Sauberkeit, die Lage Die Nähe zur Hauptstraße
- Nicola (10/5): - Wow! What a gem. Loved everything about our stay. Location was great only a short walk into the town. Its great to have parking as well. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean and very comfortable. Nothing
- Lorraine (10/5): My kind of place a “proper” hotel, traditional in lovely grounds cozy and warm great breakfast staff were nice helpful n - Individual, unique a period property far from those pod put together modern facilities I liked it all
- paul (10/5): Excellent value, highly recommend. - Very comfortable bed, good sized room.
Ensuite had been renovated and was squeeky clean.
Great breakfast ( catered for vegetarians also).
On site parking if you let them know you need it. Nothing to dislike about this place unless you don't like to use stairs. All rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor - walk up. Wasn't a problem for us.
- Shelley (10/5): Brilliant - Hotel was lovely and clean and had great character, staff were lovely and helpful and a great breakfast
- Niel (10/5): - Everything 0
- Simonne (7/5): Convenient location - The hotel is located a 10 minute walk from the centre of town with a large Waitrose and Tesco Express nearby. Lovely old building in need of a refresh. Nice patio area for clement days. Plenty of off-street free parking. A decent buffet breakfast. Staff were very obliging. Our room and bathroom were clean but in need of a refresh (sun-bleached curtains, sagging mattress) but ok for 1 night.
- jan-uwe (9/5): - Very helpful staff, there was an issue with the room and we were chenaged late in the evening. Very easy.
Location is great for a visit to canterbury, just 10 min to the cathedral.
delicious Breakfast
Prkin included.
We come bck

- Karl (10/5): Exquisite stay, one of the greatest hotel experiences you'll have for such great value! - Absolutely stunning hotel filled with amazing features, we felt very spoiled and instantly fell in love with the place. It offered so many wow factors and it truly was one of the greatest stays ever. Instant warm welcome, beautiful building, very comfy bed, clean & quiet, lots of facilities, close to town, hot tub access, huge garden area, luxury breakfast room, the list goes on!! Go see for yourself at this incredible accomodation!! Only downside was having to go home!
- Yola (8/5): A delightful friendly relaxed quiet clean spacious to stay, just 20 minute easy walk to Cathedral - - Easy front of hotel parking included with stay.
Very kind welcome and easy booking in. Staff I’m sure would efficiently, attentively and kindly I’m sure, deal with any issues.
Had top floor garden facing room. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. There’s no lift which was absolutely fine for me but be aware of this when booking should you not be good with stairs. It’s so quiet and peaceful which was wonderful.. and absolutely loved the bird song in the morning and evening and looking out upon the garden. It’s an easy walk into central Canterbury ..20 mins down the straight flat road.
Breakfast is provided as buffet.. continental and hot served with scrambled eggs. It’s kept well stocked, and plenty to choose from and then enjoy in bright spacious breakfast room.
Should you desire there’s hot tub in the garden for our pleasure and bar to buy a drink to enjoy there or in the garden.
For a first time visit to Canterbury, I am so glad I chose this friendly, low key relaxed hotel, it has its own tales of many visitors it has hosted from the past and keeps a reflection of this in it’s ambience. (No I don’t mean ghosts! But it’s not a modern new establishment! ) It’s delightful and would absolutely recommend it if you visiting. They also have apartments in the garden if you you are travelling as a family which look great. Thanks to all the staff for making my stay so enjoyable. I’ve no complaints.
- Justine (8/5): - Plenty of parking, lovely building, friendly staff, lovely breakfast selection Lock on room could be better
- Shirley (7/5): - Great location.
Free parking.
Nice size room. Had a lot of trouble getting water to flow in the shower. Took a bit of perseverance. Once it arrived, the pressure was very poor.
- Tim (8/5): - Good location with parking, a short walk into Canterbury town. Breakfast was good.
Great value considering the region. The building is extremely noisy.
- Rebecca (9/5): Excellent value once again!! - Spacious bungalow in the rear garden of this attractive hotel with everything you need for a short stopover or longer stay. Very hot and plentiful water for bath / shower, well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area and beds. Staff are always warm and friendly. Generous check in /out times (2pm in - 11am out), great value for money being so very close to the city centre and cricket ground. We went as a couple but plenty of room for 4 at no extra cost as there is a double room and a twin room with linen and towels (plus sofa bed, I believe, so up to 6 people)
- dawson (10/5): - Super value for a great price. Tasty and extensive selecton of breakfast items to eat.
- Carine (9/5): -
- David (8/5): Wonderful may bank holiday stay - Lovely hotel. Very friendly staff. Good towels, clean room, good shower. Only improvement would be a cooked to order breakfast.
I just didnt like the bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages and mushrooms.
The rest of the buffet was faultless and a huge choice. Miniature jam pots, fruit, yoghurt. Pastries, erc
If they had better quality cooked breakfast , it would be perfect.
- Nicola (9/5): Brilliant place to stay - Loved the location, free parking, excellent breakfast and characterful room Nothing
- Nick (7/5): - Location, grounds andn character of the building. Staff v nice. Room 8, 2nd floor so incredibly hot, lacking ventilation. Wasn't even a particularly hot time of year. No ice bucket available either.
- Sergei (10/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Great value, would stay again - Good breakfast, great location, good value It was a bit hot and there was only a handheld shower over the bath.
- Ross (9/5): -
- Duncan (10/5): -
- Anouck (9/5): -
- Smith (6/5): -
- Jennifer (6/5): Ok - Location was perfect plus parking was a bonus. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel is a bit tired could do with an upgrade in places. We couldn't turn off our radiator and it was the hottest day this year. Staff tried couldn't turn it off. The shower over the bath needs updating its a trickle at best. Breakfast was average, hot buffet and continental.
- Mark (8/5): Our stay was peaceful, with the sites, only a gentle 15 minute stroll away. - Breakfast was taken in a nice airy room, we were fortunate to get the window table overlooking the garden.
The choice and quality was very good, top ups were a little slow in coming one morning but didn't detract from enjoying a hearty start to the day. Not so much didnt like, it is what it is but the car park is gravel topped, so riding a motorcycle, great care was required.
Breakfast was good but the toast machine, being a hearing aid wearer the constant squeak emanating from it, got a bit annoying.
- Powell (10/5): - Breakfast was fresh and tasty
Staff were helpful and the rooms really clean.
- Prima hotel. Ruime kamer. goed ontbijt. Waar voor je geld.
- Orge (10/5): - Idéalement placé
- Richard (8/5): Great value for money - Excellent breakfast, clean room, plenty of free parking, great value for money Little bit dated.
- Nicholas (8/5): Excellent. Will stay again. - Excellent. Big, clean, bright. Good bright bedroom and bathroom. Everything nice and clean. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Wonderful garden. Quiet. Own bar. Plenty of parking. Easy 20 minute walk to the cathedral. I definitely will stay again. Shower in the bath but no shower curtain. The water goes everywhere. But it’s not my bathroom!
- Roeliek (10/5): - Personeel was zeer vriendelijk. Het hotel is netjes en mooi.
- Alan (9/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): -
- Claire (9/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Lovely room in excellent location - Lovely room, garden view.
Comfortable bed very clean.
Good sized wardrobe space.
Very good breakfast selection, hot * continental.
Excellent location & parking. Nothing
- Catherine (9/5): -
- Aaldert Jan (9/5): - Prima verblijf gehad. Niets.
- Josephine (10/5): A lucky find. - The hotel itself was very nice. Our room was ensuite, very clean and had a comfortable bed. There was everything we needed and we had a view overlooking the lovely gardens. The location was ideal to visit the Cathedral 15 minutes walk away. It was very quiet considering the it was on a main road. Private parking was much appreciated. We had no complaints
- Jim (8/5): An excellent location but beware the (very) small double room. - The accommodation was easy to find and there were no problems with parking considering this hotel was a 20 minute walk from the city centre. Checking in / out was easy and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. On the day of checkout we were able to leave our vehicle in the car park whilst we had a look around Canterbury. We booked the small double room (room 16) and were expecting a small room but I was surprised how small the bathroom was. The sink was too small and the shelf above it made it near impossible to use to wash your face, clean your teeth, etc. and the overall the bathroom was inadequate. I'd advise against this room due to the lack of bathroom functionality.
- Marloes (9/5): Fijne plek in Canterbury - Mooi oud gebouw met prachtige tuin met zitjes. Goed ontbijtbuffet en hele grote kamer. Aanrader in Canterbury! Niets
- Paul (10/5): -
- Fabienne (8/5): - Super friendly and accommodating staff. Comfy bed. Breakfast was good. Safe and quiet. The shower pressure was not very good but we were at the very top of the hotel.
- Anna (9/5): Very happy stay. Would stay again - Lovely garden. Great little place to stay in a lovely area Shower wasn’t great, but was warm and worked
Letti comodi camere spaziose. Nulla
- Neil (9/5): Great apartment, solid walk out of town. - Spacious comfortable well appointed apartment. Great bed. Bosch microwave impossible to operate.
- Tony (10/5): Me and my partner only stayed in this hotel has it was closet hotel to driving test centre but have found a little gem w - Staff was absolutely amazing from the moment we step through the door to the moment we left
- kim (8/5): Loved my stay - would stay again in a heartbeat. - Location was perfect - not too far from town but very peaceful, garden is beautiful - rooms are a great size with character features - you can open the windows !! Staff lovely and breakfast one of the best buffets i have had in many years. Beds are very comfortable and linens and towels were spotless. I didnt use it but there was parking should you need it. If you had access requirements you would struggle as alot of stairs without a lift. Pillows were awful - very flat and hard - not able to 'fluff' for comfort.
- Shane (10/5): Simply Great . - I stay there many times and it’s a Great place Nothing
- Louise (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - Room was quaint and comfy. Breakfast was good. Good location. 20 minute walk to Canterbury cathedral. Liked that it had free parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful!
- Akshun (8/5): A well maintained, affordable hotel option close to the city centre. Amazing and really helpful staff. - The hotel room was clean and spacious. The buffet breakfast was a standard English breakfast and had a few cereal options. The rear garden was well maintained and had plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is also a short, easy walk to the town centre. Nothing.
- Susan (9/5): Beautiful hotel in a good location at a very good price. - Everything. It was beautiful, immaculately clean, very helpful staff, delicious breakfast and very reasonably priced. The too clever hot water system in the bathroom!
- Florent (9/5): -

- Barry (10/5): Great choice. - Great breakfast plenty of choice.great location. Free parking.
- Nicola (8/5): Good value accommodation and excellent breakfast - Very nice room and easy to check in. Very good value and easy walk to Canterbury town centre. Breakfast an elegant surprise! Nothing and I will definitely come here again
- Shane (10/5): Great Hotel , staff are always welcoming , lovely rooms and breakfast is AMAZING as always. - Everything , that’s why I stay there often with work. Nothing.
- Neil (8/5): Excellent....suited our purpose of exploring Canterbury and onward trips to Sandwich and Hawkinge. - Room was comfortable and overlooked the rear garden. Two chairs allowed you to sit and read in the bedroom. The garden is large and allows you to take in fresh air outside at one of many tables and chairs provided for that purpose. (There are also a couple of hot tubs which seemed incongruous given the building/setting). Breakfast was buffet style with reasonable quality of produce but a very wide selection of cereals, nuts, yoghurt, cooked produce and bread/jams/toasting machine. All provided by smiling and helpful staff. When asked whether I could have fried eggs instead of the scrambled provided, this was cheerfully obliged. Location is excellent for exploring Canterbury being situated south of the city allowing an easy, straight along the road walk into the city. Canterbury has many historic buildings with fine architecture. It also has (if that is your thing) an assortment of independent, specialist shops. It is about 1.4 miles from the hotel to Canterbury West with onward trains to St. Pancras. Bathroom in bedroom was small and movement restricted by entrance door. This caused by having the bathroom built into the slope of the roof. Notice on bar counter advertised nuts/crisps. These were not available to compliment our drinks.
