Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ash and Tanya made our stay even better, they could not do enough for you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful location although a decent 15 minute walk through dark county lanes if you want to sample the local night life!
Lovely rooms although a little on the small side.
The pool area was beautiful and staff very friendly. A good breakfast but didn’t get the chance to sit at table of choice as tables weren’t cleared.
- SS (4/5): - Property is rather overpriced for facilities, and decor. Beds were basic. WiFi has not been working for a while now - dispute between BT and the new owner over costs meant we were missold the facilities in this remote part with poor connectivity.
Breakfast was a major let down. Vegetarian option just meant English breakfast minus bacon and ham! It was the most expensive toast and cereal (limited choice) I had for 2 days. I was offered just tomatoes and mushrooms for vegetarian choice - no potato hash browns etc or baked beans (offered it the first day as left over from previous day’s party!). Even after stating this issue on the first day, it was the same situation the next day. No healthy options for youghurts, no croissants (the attendant said they ran out of supply, all platters were sat on 1 table, no other guests could have them). When I expressed disappointment, the attendant and even the owner came to explain how they haven’t been able to sort veg options for guests after recent take over etc. They were genuinely apologetic. I was then offered avocado on toast by 3 separate staff and the owner as an option - rather late. For me, it was not even continental, let alone full English cooked breakfast. I should be offered both refund and compensation - I felt discriminated and poorly served for being a vegetarian 🙄☹️And yes, eggs are NOT vegetarian....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay , beautiful view and tasty breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great except for the jacuzzi which needed cleaning. Fantastic situation overlook8ng the sea.
- Suraiya (6/5): Enttäuschend - Zimmer in Ordnung aber Lage in einen Innenhof. Dabei hätte man das Meer vor der Nase.
- Joanne (8/5): - Fantastic views a great stop over for the night, and my husband got to play golf. Nice swimming pool & clean comfortable basic room.
Just need to put a mirror near the plug socket so you can see to dry your hair.
- Steve (10/5): Lovely three night stay. - Fantastic location and very comfortable and friendly stay with excellent service.
Glad recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Lovely location with great views
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The situation of the club on the Cornish cape. We had good weather and it was dramatic.
- Sara-Jayne (10/5): Great location and good value. - Beautiful location with sea views. Comfortable well equipped rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We are in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Local fresh fish and beautifully cooked & presented.
The pool was lovely although the jacuzzi wasn’t on and the changing rooms were cold.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was lovely place but the emergency lighting is a bit over the top, as its a two and a half inch beacon, which not only lights up an escape route, but the whole room and even into the bathroom. we found this particularly disturbing!
- Stephen (6/5): Not a hotel, so don’t expect too much. - This is NOT a hotel or a country club, so don’t expect too much. This is a golf course with a handful or rooms on the side in a separate building. This is not a criticism, but a review based on observations I made, to help others not expect too much. There is no safe, no fridge, no 24-concierge, no room service, no air con, no fans, insecure car parking. There is a 15m pool, towels are complimentary at reception, but take your own shower gel and definitely take goggles because it is heavily chlorinated. Take your valuables to the poolside, the lockers don’t work. There is a small Sauna but it takes a while to get going. Breakfast is only available 8am to 9.30am and the dining room isn’t always available to all guests all the time, so check directly with the reception days in advance just in case. I would also recommend you also check that they have received any additional requirements from Hotels.com because we had requested online for a third bed for our 5-yr-old son. When we arrived the receptionist wasn’t aware of the requirement, he assured me he would sort it, but it only arrived at 8pm. The views are stunning, there is minimal light/air/noise pollution and there is a golf course on site. It is well positioned for Penzance, the Minnack Theatre, Land’s End and of course, St. Just where there are some lovely pubs and a co-op should you need to buy breakfast if leaving early.
- Martin (8/5): Great location and friendly staff - An April trip to explore and photograph the surrounding area. Just a few miles from Lands End and a grand view of Cape Cornwall, so it’s all about location.
Great Breakfast and comfortable room made this an idea choice. Staff friendly and good price deals available. Had an evening meal on two occasions which were fine but menu options may be limited if staying for more than a few days.
- Laura (6/5): - Lovely place to stay in an ideal location but very unfortunate that I was not informed on booking that food was not served here in the evening. No invoice was presented on departing hotel which is essential for business purposes.
- Jessica (10/5): Great little place. Will visit again! - Excellent stay. Basic room but all we needed just for an over night stay. Didn’t get chance to use it but pool and hot tub looked lovely. Great scenery, beautiful views. Lovely breakfast, bar/restaurant area is really nice and relaxed.
Cannot rate the staff highly enough. Particularly Ashley and George for being so friendly and making us feel very welcome!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay but I’d pay more for a nicer hotel - A stunning location with the sea a stones throw away. The room was okay, it could have done with a paint and the mattress was pretty hard. It was okay for the price but next time I think I’d pay abit more for a more comfortable room.
- Cliff (10/5): Lovely, Ashley is lovely, he will look after you - Lovely all round. Staff are lovely and look after you very well. Hats off to Ashley, he really looked after us.
- Michael (8/5): Weekend getaway - We had a chance of a couple of days away and knew the area quite well but never stayed, so we had a look around and found the Golf club. And so glad e did 😁. Fantastic location right on the coast path, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean and comfortable rooms, and, a great swimming pool too. What more could you want after a lovely walk come back and unwind in the pool. Will be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely nice breakfast, lovely staff & a comfortable room.
- Michelle (4/5): Hotel review - I was very disappointed as I was there for two nights on a business trip. On returning to the room on the second night there had been no room service no fresh towels or tea or milk. Upon check in I was told no evening meals were available.
- Vee (8/5): - Amazing view on cliff top over looking the sea.extremly disappointing that where not doing evening meal due to not enough people staying there. Also breakfast late start from 8am
- Angela (8/5): - Beautiful setting, and very comfortable room with an excellent shower. Slight mustiness in the bathroom and disappointing that the restaurant doesn't operate every night in the Slack season but I would be more than happy to return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Birthday treat - Amazing location, lovely welcoming staff, good facilities, nice pool & sauna... will be returning again!!
- Glenda (8/5): Happy travellers - Small room but very comfortable. Pool and spa great after a coastline walk. Great breakfast. Parking, wifi and quiet. Loved this real Lands End area.
- Michele (10/5): Hidden gem - A beautiful resort , with very comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant with a wonderful view.
- Peter (8/5): 2 days in cornwall - very good
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tries very hard - You cannot fault the staff who are fabulous but the facility does not really seem to know what it is trying to achieve. There seems to be two hotels in one with one facility being a conventional hotel and the other a collection of rooms as an adjunct to the clubhouse. These rooms are small and irregularly shaped which makes them seem even smaller. A very busy hotel nevertheless with an excellent breakfast offering.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice but some issues - Room nice but had a broken window which meant on a very hot day couldn't open it. The hotel provided a fan which only blew out warm air. The shower was faulty as well. However lovely breakfast and the room was clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely view - Lovely place. Breakfast service could be better, but don't let that put you off
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly hotel in a bleak location - Don't be put off by the approach, this place is worth a visit.
- MARINA (8/5): peaceful getaway - a great place to get away from it all, have great country walks and relax. The staff were very helpful and made sure we had all we needed. the swimming pool, sauna and spar are a added bonus. Breakfast was ok, not the biggest selection but the food was well cooked. The room, though fairly small was warm and clean and the only slight negative was the size of the T.V. (laptop size)
- Clement (2/5): Good location but no suitable for family - We are a family with children we have booked this hotel for the facilities of pool and sow activities such as horse riding.
We have paid for extra bed for children,
My daughter moved a lot and I only can hear the springs of the bed.
Until my daughter wakes up crying that her back hurts she said I can not sleep there.
i went to check the bed and my big surprise my daughter was sleeping on a metal bed with almost nothing of froam support i can feel just the metal. We wouldn't believe this happening in a hotel who claimed to be 4 star even o 0 start this is not acceptable.
- Claudiu (4/5): The room very very small, also the bed it was singl - Dessapoint about location, small bed, small room,I requsted few days my receit, finally they give me..
I never come back there
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent stay, good breakfast, but the coffee in the room needs to be changed regularly
- William (10/5): Best stay - Hotel is located on a privileged spot. Room is stylish and contemporary. We slept like angels. The English breakfast that we had was amazing, everything fresh and local, tasted delicious. The best hotel we have been to so far. Excellent service from staff.
- Dawn (6/5): Disappointing - Are stay was in January on arrival told no evening meals available.
Thought we were getting see view but did not.
One window was letting in the cold air had to pad it with a towel.
Bathroom was so cold.
- Patricia Lee (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - I was very happy to be shown a budget room that was in such good condition, fresh and clean. Fabulous location and very affordable. Would be very happy to visit again and wholly recommend you to all.
- Gregory (10/5): Recommend to anyone, especially if you love golf. - We had a wonderful time, the setting and facilities were magnificent and the Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice, relaxing stay. - Beautiful place to stay - amazing scenery. Quiet and right by the Cape and Land's End. Food in the restaurant was good, friendly staff.
- carol (10/5): Great views - Lovely settings. Staff very helpful and pleasent. Food very good
- Michael (4/5): Very disappointing - Very disappointing. I had been hoping for a relaxing evening in a nice hotel lounge that would be reflected in it's relative luxury by the amount of money I had spent on the booking. However, upon arrival at the hotel with its building-site driveway and unmarked parking area, we dragged our cases through the gravel and potholes down into the hotel reception area. The receptionist who greeted us was very polite, though clearly untrained, and managing by herself (with seemingly just the Barman for support) brought us back outdoors again to the rear of the building and up the creaking fire-escape to our room, however she was obliged to return later with the promised campbed for our son - apparently Expedia don't inform hotels of the number of guests coming on a booking! The room layout was very good, though with the hair in the bath plughole, the dust on the rafters and on the pictures, the stuck TV remote generally it was quite a disappointment. We had not been instructed in how to pull the skylight blind down, and we were issued with just one key (!!!). Visiting the Bar/Lounge was pleasant, the Barman was most friendly and helpful regarding interesting walks in the locality. Next morning at breakfast we were treated coldly and brusquely by the staff who had clearly been talking about us (maybe we shouldn't have asked the Receptionist to bring that Campbed, or for a second key!). Breakfast itself was adequate though very slow in coming. I don't recommend the Hotel.
- wendy (8/5): Fantastic staff and accommodation. - Brilliant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Room had lots of character and was comfortable. The restaurant was very nice and breakfast was excellent. The location of the accommodation is spectacular. Cape Cornwall is beautiful and wonderful for a walk.
- pete (10/5): used the hotel to visit the Minack Theatre - very friendly and up to date room, spa being built on site about 3 weeks from completion
- Jane (8/5): Worth a visit - Lovely stay, hotel obviously being improved all the time, a little way to go but will definitely go back!
- Helen (6/5): - I'll fitting external door ment a very draughty night. Room could have been cleaner.
Staff very friendly
- Linda (8/5): Cape Cornwall - Great stay at Cape Cornwall. Excellent staff and the facilities are being improved all the time.
- Tom (8/5): No restaurant after 5 - We book her because of location and restaurant when we got there we were told thw restaurant was closed at 5 pm but were told a pub in a nearby town was open. We came down from our roon at 5:15 looking for a sitting room to sit and enjoy the veiws but the place was shut down. Our room had 1 xhair and the windows were at the floor with a veiw of the stairs very disappointed.
- david (10/5): GREAT PLACE TO STAY - REALY GREAT PLACE AND FREINDLY STAFF WHO CANT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU
- Verified traveler (2/5): - arrived between 6.30pm and 7pm greeted by young lady on reception who showed me to my room - no facilities at hotel were open due to maintenance being carried out after busy summer period - also told restaurant was not open - no explanation, best offer was to travel back down a windy, unlit, single track road to pub to get an evening meal which you pass on the way to the hotel - no pre warning this was the situation or even an update on their website - wont be returning and not worth if for a business trip either
