Guest Reviews
- Richard (10/5): - Decent sized double room with AC and en suite bathroom. Meals, fruit and cups of tea and coffee provided. Friendly host who advised of the best way to get about without spending a lot and also made sandwiches to pack for travel. Location is south of the city, near the beach and 5 min walk from main railway line to Galle. There is a rooftop with views of the city skyline. Excellent value for money. Many thanks Harshi.
- Vivek (10/5): The owner is the real star here - I arrived at this hotel/homestay late in the evening after a different booking I made fell through. Harsh was nothing but kind and generous, offering me a drink immediately and putting me up at short notice. The room and bathroom were clean and exactly what I needed. But the real gem here is Harshi herself, who made my one night here the best place I've stayed in Sri Lanka! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, with easy access to Galle Road and a nearby train station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel 5 mins walking from everything. - Perfect location 5 minutes walking from everything. Very nice place to stay in a quiet area. The best part about staying at this hotel is the owner who's uniquely neat, friendly and very kind. She's offered us many things that she's not required to. I bought a package flight+hotet for 8 days, spent one night in Colombo at this hotel then decided to go on a 6 days trip around the Island. Here's what she's done for us, not only she made calls to find the cheapest driver for our 6 days trip but she also gave us back some money for the 6 days that we were gone.... how nice is that
- Angad (8/5): Good Stay! - Had a very good stay. The host was very warm and welcoming. Took very good care of the guests. Highly recommend staying there.
- Peter (2/5): Read this before you book - Recently booked a 2 night stay here while on 2 week trip to Sri Lanka. Taxi driver had great difficulty finding place as it was just an open doorway in a back alley. Although arrived after stated check-in time waited for a further 2 hours before owner turned up. We were greeted with the news that there was no room available as rooms had been overbooked. Owner then informed me that she had reserved a room in a nearby hostel called the Clock Inn. I expressed my dissatisfaction but had no other available option. The owner was very abrupt and surprised at my annoyance with the situation. My booking had been made 2 months before my stay so what possible reason should there have been for room being unavailable!! I was then taken to the Clock Inn and discovered that this overbooking was not an isolated incident, instead it occurs regularly as the owner has an agreement with the hostel manager to take the over-bookings into 4 rooms available there. My room at the hostel might have been acceptable to someone backpacking but certainly not older travellers used to a little better.
On the first night of our stay the owner took us for a curry to nearby place to compensate for the inconvenience, and my wife ended with a stomach problem which lasted for a further 2 days.
