• Hrannar (5/5): Frabær staðsetning, vont rúmm - Frábær staðsetning og mjog hreint Rúmmið brakaði svo mikið og við voknuðum um nóttina útaf hávaðanum. Það var lika frekar hart,, Siðan eru sma litlir hlutir pirrandi, hurðin a herberginu passaði ekki i hurðakarminn, þurfti að yta rosa fast a hana til að það væti hægt að loka.

• HUGH (9/5): ANOTHER WONDERFUL STAY IN AKUREYRI. - Once again, I have just spent another three days in the lovely city of Akureyri at BG4 Guest House, which is very comfortable and clean. I was able to further explore Akureyri and also take a day-trip to Húsavík, about 46 miles northeast of Akureyri. Although I didn't see any whales or puffins during this city break, I did see a wonderfully preserved polar bear at the museum in Húsavík, which had come ashore on the island of Grimsey back in 1969 as well as a NASA monument to all the Apollo astronauts who had done some of their training in Iceland, during the 1960s. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere of Akureyri, with its cosy cafés and bars and would love to return again soon. A big 'Thank you' to everyone! No complaints at all.

Parken auf den öffentlichen Parkplätzen vor dem Haus kostet von 10 (oder 11Uhr?) bis 16Uhr, Da wir später an- und schon vorher wieder abgereist sind, konnten wir also gratis parken. Dass wir bei offenem Fenster schlafen und uns morgens die Straßenreinigung geweckt hat, dafür kann ja die Unterkunft nichts. Leider hat bei uns das W-Lan nicht funktioniert.

• HUGH (9/5): MY SECOND STAY IN AKUREYRI WAS ALSO PERFECT. - My recent three-night stay in Akureyri at BG4 Guesthouse was perfect and with much milder weather than during my first visit last November, when heavy snowfall had created a "Winter Wonderland". This time I was able to enjoy some glorious "Autumn colours" from all the different trees and bushes in and around Akureyri. I found BG4 Guesthouse very comfortable, clean and warm and ideally situated, very close to the town centre. Akureyri has lots of good shops, cafés and eating places, an excellent public library, and several interesting museums. There are plenty of ideal areas for walking as well as a free, hourly bus service in and around the town. The botanical gardens are also worth a visit. In addition, this town feels almost totally safe to walk around in both in daylight and after dark and a hundred times safer than some other towns and cities in the UK and Europe. I would definitely stay again and many thanks to everyone! No complaints at all.

• Monica (4/5): Eens maar nooit weer - De locatie was niet slecht: op loopafstand van het centrum en zelfs van het vliegveld. Wel wat ver lopen naar de universiteit. Badkamer onveilig. Dekbed te warm (synthetisch?). Zeer pover ingericht en matige verlichting. Geen waterkoker oid op de kamer. Gehorig. Duur voor een simpele kamer zonder zichtbaar aanwezig hotelpersoneel en geen ontbijt. Communicatie over transport voorafgaand aan verblijf verliep moeizaam en uiteindelijk bleek de informatie ook niet te kloppen. Jammer!

• Marie (5/5): - Das Zimmer war schön und sauber. Die Betten bequem. Die Küchenausstattung der Gemeinschaftsküche würde sich über eine Ergänzung freuen und war leider auch nicht ganz sauber. Der Wasserhahn war undicht, nur ein Topf ohne Deckel und keine Kaffeemaschine bzw. nur eine Kapselmaschine vorhanden. Auch roch es auf dem Gang gewöhnungbedürftig. Die Dusche wäre mit einer Glaswand auf der Seite zur Toilette und dem Duschvorhang auf nur einer Seite deutlich aufgewertet.

The shower was disgusting, looked like mold on the shower curtain and the shower head was taped stuck with black tape. The curtain was very thin, I would not like to stay there during summer. The sheet on the bed had holes in it.

Lekur krani, vatn út um allt borð þar sem ónýtur hraðsuðuketill. Ofn stóð á mjórri hillu með lausri lúgu sem hrökk upp og ofninn var við það að detta á mig. Ekki hægt að setjast. Engar skálar. Pínulítil offull ruslafata. Ekkert starfsfólk sjáanlegt alla helgina. Laus handföng á útidyrahurð og baðherbhurð. Engir snagar eða slá fyrir handklæði á baði. Ekkert fyrir klósettrúllu. Vantar lýsingu í herbergi, mjög dauf ljós.
• nancie (1/5): There was no stay. - I my confirmation from Booking,com and the owner or manager was not at the location, so I never got into the room I had reserved and paid for. Had to find another hotel, when I was tired, hungry, and need a restroom. Spent 30 minutes trying to get a room key and no luck. Horrible management. Sell a room, but they so not let into room.

• Apollo (6/5): Maybe worth checking next time other options further away from the city centre - Prime location, modern toilet/bathroom, easy check-in/out and host was very responsive and informative. Kitchen is small and washing in the sink is wetting the floor. No inside dining area in the ground floor so we ate inside our room. The spring on our door needs fixing; no toilet roll holder and no hanging hooks in the toilet/bathroom. No allocated guest parking so had to park in the public parking.

• Indigo (4/5): A disappointment - Close to town Place was run down and poorly maintained. We weren't even provided hand soap and were given 1/2 a roll of toilet paper. The windows didn't shut properly which made it cold and you could hear the noise from the streets/ loud music until 4am. Everything felt old and stingy. Overall, disappointing.

Les draps étaient troués et sales, la porte de la chambre était à côté d’une entrée débarrée en tout temps, il faisait chaud dans la chambre, très peu voire aucune insonorisation donc nous entendions tous les allées et venus des autres convives et aucun personnel sur place.

• Auguste (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location, decent size room and comfortable beds. Windows were overlooking the street however, no noises were bothering us neither from outside or inside. Beautifull building as well. Parking was free of charge from the evening (16:00 or 18:00 o'clock can't remember) until 10:00 in the morning, so it worked perfect for us. A stove or small hot plate in the kitchen would have been great.

Communal kitchen was tiny, with hardly any equipment, plus no dining area. If you want a great kitchen to cook an evening meal, I would not recommend this guest house.

• Karen (1/5): Horrible, we will never stay there again. - The location is nice. We arrived after midnight and found another couple asleep in our room. They had booked the room by mistake at the same date but the following year, 2026, and since they couldn’t open the room by the PIN code they received through email they called the facility and were given the correct pin, our pin. The staff member didn’t ask for a confirmation code nor a reservation name. Since everything was fully booked in Akureyri that night we had to ask the other couple to leave the room and asked the staff for clean sheets and towels. However, since the “staff” is a call centre probably not even located in Iceland there was nothing they could do. A maintenance company takes care of the cleaning and for some dumb reason they don’t keep extra clean sheets and towels in a closet at the facility and since they didn’t answer the phone we had to sleep in a dirty room with no sheets on the bed and no towels.

• Kristjan (3/5): We booked a "Deluxe" bedroom and I can, with confidence, say that it was nowhere near "Deluxe". I wo - The location is good. It is in the middle of town so it is convenient. The cleanliness is okay. The floor and bathroom were clean but the rest, like the bed frame and the window sill, were dirty. 1. The reception was incredibly impersonal and there was no staff in the building. 2. The lock in the door had low battery and it was hard to work with. 3. Only 2 of 4 lights were working so we had to change the lightbulbs ourselves. 4. The bed fram was falling apart and if there was any movement on the bed it would result in a loud creak. Which made it very hard to sleep.

• Anna (8/5): Good location for your stay in Akuryeri - The room size is very good, the beds are big and comfortable, and a good shower. The common kitchenette offers cups, cutlery, dishes, fridge and microwave and a small kitchen top. This was useful to prepare some breakfast and packed lunch. It is very close to the main street. Clear instructions to check-in. We were expecting more of a common kitchen with a table and space to eat inside. The room needed a little maintenance and maybe some instructions on how to work the TV. More sockets needed!
