Guest Reviews
- Waugh (4/5): The price was affordable. - The price and the fact that u could park right outside ur room The location is inconvenient. They charge a pet deposit that is not listed on booking.com. the kid working the desk had to come fix the ac and the TV. They should sell more than liquor in their store since there are no stores in walking distance.
- ARO (10/5): - Great location, facility is clean, rooms are nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- ARO (10/5): - Rooms were clean and affordable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Great location to everything I needed.
- Michael (2/5): - First the property doesn't affiliate with Expedia. The room was dirty, outdated. The bath and shower was 3 different colors. No hot water. Will not stay there again. Do not recommend
- Shaun (10/5): - Love staying here during the Nationals. They are always friendly and take care of us. The housekeeper always makes sure we have fresh towels and wash rags. The liquor store and cigar shop connected is a bonus.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here! - This had to be the dirtiest most run down places I've ever stayed. Cockroaches, nothing clean in there. No phone (not that anyone needs one anymore) no coffee pot. The a/c didn't work. The list goes on!
- Kasandra (6/5): - Toilet was in a weird position. Was a place to sleep and quiet.
- JAMES (4/5): Substandard stay - Hotel was very dirty. Hallway carpets dirty. Room Carpet and bathroom dirty. Mold and mildew in shower stall. Microwave didn’t work. Keep blowing the power when we tried to use it. Tv remotes did not work. Only one trash can. Not enough towels. No Kleenex.
- TERESA (10/5): - Ever time I am in this town, I stay here. Very helpful people.
- Teresa (10/5): - The manager and staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. And can’t speak enough about their kindness. Please ignore the terrible reviews of this property. People can be so ugly and rude. That is not the case with these people. Thank you hotel OYO!
- Sonya (2/5): - The only thing that was good was the lady January who helped us get the tv to work for about an hour ... it was not fit for kids .. the hallways were filthy there was propane tanks and pesticide containers in the hallway by the stairs hair in several spots in the bathroom. I took alot of pics... and they overcharge me almost my room was supposed to only be $130.02 thru expedia and they charged us $342.00 waiting for it to get refunded very angry and the liquor store attached to the hotel smells like rotting meat inside..... like I said the best and only good thing about this hotel is their front desk lady named January
- Dean (8/5): Good enough - Much better experience than the last time I stayed here. It was the only hotel in the area available for this weekend, so that’s why I went back. My neighbors were outside talking at the top of their lungs until two in the morning, but that’s not the hotels fault. The air conditioner worked great and the water was hot and The room was clean.
- Joe (2/5): - Dead bugs on the floor upon check-in, AC was not working in the first room, and it was 90° outside, then they switched us rooms for the second night. and there were still dead bugs on the floor in the bathroom and on the vanity.
- Donald (6/5): - Price was good Bed and linens clean & comfortable
- Warren (10/5): - Staff was very friendly. Hotel is older but everything was clean and orderly.
- Bostin (2/5): - I didn't like anything about this place it's so dirty, door not closing properly, birds nest all in hallway, carpet very dirty nasty looking, more and more
- Jim (8/5): - When we arrived they had no room available and had no record of a room being booked for us. However, because of late cancellation they were able to provide us with a room. Cost almost double of what we booked the room for using Hotels.com. Therefore we have no reason to use Hotels.com again since you do not deliver what we contracted for.
- Barbara (2/5): - Waiting to get my damage deposit back on my cc. Contacting credit card co.
We walked in room and walked out. Check room out prior to paying.
- Kindra (2/5): - The receptionist was very rude. Didnt tell us online there was a 100 dollar deposit. We've stayed multiple times a year but wont b anymore
- C1967KXricharde (2/5): Horrible Place - Stayed 3 weeks for work. Paid weekly and left 3 days early. Would not refund anything. Deadbolt was broke and they kept saying they would replace it and never did. Laundry was broken, but they offered to do your clothes for $15. I tipped them $5 extra and I swear I don’t think they used any soap.
- Jesse (2/5): - Bugs
- Jesse (2/5): - Bugs
- Ray (8/5): - Ok for the price. Somewhat noisy need quite hours
- Cindy (2/5): Discouraged - Was clean at check in they never changed my sheets and never cleaned the floor. We kept taking the comforter off the bed because it was hot. They through it on my open suitcase. No ice machine toilet is so close to the wall the toilet paper holder hangs over the seat very difficult to wipe. Spiders charged me a deposit of 100.00 couldn't have done any damage it was so run down. People above us kept jumping and falling on the floor very difficult to sleep the room had an odor we couldn't find.
- Cindy (2/5): Clean at check in - Cleaned at check in only.We had 3 different types of flooring the floor was not swept. they charged a 100.00 deposit not sure if I could have done any more damage to the room. our sheets were never changed the floor did not get swept nor the bathtub cleaned. There is no ice. Our room was only half painted. Someone upstairs constantly jumped around or fell on the floor during the night we got little sleep.the toilet is so close to the wall the toilet paper holder is over the seat.cannot wipe
- Craig (2/5): This place is a dive - It was the worst place I have stayed in my life the door was broken by a crowbar several times and it smelt so bad the beds were infested with begs and the tiles from the ceiling were falling off almost fell on my head.
- Brian (10/5): - Very friendly staff great room n clean
- Amanda (4/5): Rude filthy unpleasant - The staff was rude. The room was not clean. There wwas something on he floor by the sink. Looks like something was spilled. Shower was dirty. We asked for a 3 rd towel since there were 3 of us and they said we could only have 2 towels at a time. They said that the motel was being renovated but didn't look to be truem the building was very run down. We will never stay at this motel again.
- Amir (2/5): - Condition of the property is horrible, smell is so bad that took me a bottle of Febrese to mask it enough to fall asleep. Second night there were noises from the second floor that sounded like a soccer game, but nobody answered my calls. Owners would regularly park their cars in the front of my room.
- Sherry (6/5): - The room was nice but the shower did not work.
- connie (2/5): - It’s away from everything. In a very creepy area. Very run down
- Miguel (8/5): Good for the price - This is an older small town motel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Room though dated was clean and equipped with small refrigerator and microwave as well as cable TV and WiFi. They provide a small breakfast of 2 cereals, with milk, orange juice, bread and bagels with a toaster and some packaged sweet rolls.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - It was quite noisy, carpets was dirty (even the dust on the hangers), the water was lukewarm for showers, the outlets in the bathroom did not work, the heat/ac did not work (we were given a space heater), needs to have blackout drapes. If they are renovating, they should also change the toilet to the higher one. The sheets were clean and the towels were nice. Staff was friendly.
- Diana (2/5): - No heat in room, room requested not available, power outage!
- Kayte (2/5): Roach city - It was so terrible. We got there and walked into our rooms and saw roaches as soon as we got there. Told them we were leaving and we wanted a refund. The next day I called up there to talk to them and they had the audacity to tell me I brought the roaches. I wasn’t even in there 2 minutes so there is no way. Very disrespectful people. Owner wouldn’t even answer hotel.com calls and then said they haven’t received any calls from them and told me to give them their number so they could answer and I told the owner they are the ones who gave me the number to get ahold of him. They have no respect and are so dirty!! Do not recommend at all!! Save your money and go to super 8 in oskaloosa, much better!!
- Paul (4/5): - The property is under remodeling but at the hands of amateurs. The room was clean but very outdated. Paint chipping in upstairs hall, the driveway and parking lot in need of much repair. Amenities, I saw none as like ice or vending nor was informed of if any available. Charged me $15 to check in because of a schedule change and before 2 pm. Way over priced for condition of the property and service
- Tim (6/5): - I stayed in this property five years ago without the wife. It was under renovation at that time and had limited amenities. This trip with the wife I planned on staying in better accommodations. When I arrived at the scheduled property, they could not find my Expedia reservation, although I had booked it eleven months ago, and confirmed it four months ago. They did not have any spare rooms, causing me to have to contact Expedia for alternate accommodations. I ended up at Hotel O Oskaloosa. Without seeing the property, I accepted the location, thinking that in five years it had completed renovations. NOT SO! It was still under renovation by another company. In fact, the sign in the front still showed the previous company's name and a banner proclaimed Hotel O Oskaloosa was coming soon. Property was pretty much as five years ago. The beds were comfortable, but amenities were few. We did have a shower and bathroom. The faucet was operated in reverse from normal and towels were minimal.Hot water took several minutes to arrive. There was no plunger in the bathroom sink and there were large stains on the carpet. Lighting was minimal, but adequate. The shades on the room windows did not block out the light coming in from the outside hall, making restful sleep difficult. It was difficult for my wife and me to believe that this property was priced the same as our "reserved room", although we were charged the same rate. This experience makes me very reluctant to use Expedia again.
- Donna (6/5): - Air conditioner needs cleaned!
- Dan (4/5): - There was a very strong smell in the room. The odor of the room gave me the feeling that the room was not clean. I was staying for a couple of days but after the first night I thought about asking for a refund and stay somewhere else.
- Michelle (8/5): - If you're looking for luxury this is not your place. It was a great place if you need a place to lay your head and sleep. It is older and not the most up-to-date but the staff was great and we will stay there when we come to visit our daughter at college.
- Kerry (10/5): Shocked - The building was very very old very delinquent the shower bathroom was fine very small beds were good condition
rooms are hideous
- Capriole4him (2/5): Don’t ever book a room here!!! - I booked and paid for a double room at this hotel. When I arrived, they claimed that I only paid for a single room. Bait and switch.
The place was really creepy too! The office door was locked in the middle of the day on a Saturday. A little foreign girl tried to open the door for us, but didn’t know how to unlock it. Then a man/woman with rotted teeth came from outside to see what we wanted. It was so weird and just didn’t feel safe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very loud noises above where I was staying. Kept waking me up
- Ricky (4/5): - Room was dirty hallways were very dark dirty stained cleaning us towels were staying room was not clean for me this day was a negative zero as a lady I will never stay there again
- Miguel (2/5): - We didn’t even stay it was so bad. Our sheets and pillowcases were spotted with I don’t want to know what. There were dead bugs all over the floor and the Roman just smelled bad.
- Angela (10/5): Great experience, no issues whatsoever!! - I had a great experience!! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, I had a nice hot shower and the bed was very comfortable, I had no issues whatsoever. I will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in town there!! Highly recommended!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dissatisfied - This was a very run down and dingey hotel. We were put into a room that was not vacuumed and the light did not work in the bathroom. We asked for another room and it was dirty also. There was paint on everything. It was late and there was no other rooms so we made do. The bed was very uncomfortable. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and accomodationg. We had made reservations for two nights but were told they didn't have us reserved for the second night so we left the next day. I called hotels.com and was told them the situation and was told that we wouldn't be charged but we were charged and I'm still trying to get a refund. It does look like they are remodeling so maybe in the future it will be a bit nicer for a stay.
- Joyce (4/5): - There was no hot water; therefore, we did not take a shower or bath.
The refrigerator froze everything.
The beds were OK.
Would have been nice to have some hot coffee/tea available in the morning.
- Amy (2/5): Gross - No renovations made to rooms…the heater was ceramic, ceiling tiles not in ceiling, carpet was stained, sheets were stained, grungy looking, I could gin on but choose to quit while ahead on this one…this is by far the worst hotel/inn I have ever been in my entire life!!! The pictures on the internet was in true about this place!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The only heat we had was a space heater in the corner. No hot water. Beds really uncomfortable (almost tried floor to see if it was better). Broken door. Hole in wall. Only stayed one night instead of two planned. Lied to about refund for 2nd night. Blood spots on tub. I'll sleep in car before ever going there again!
- Steven (4/5): - The heat was off in the room when I arrived. Took a long time to heat the room. The shower had hair from a previous person all over the bottom. There were no hangers to hang clothes. No glasses in the bathroom. Not enough covers on the bed. The room felt like something from 1930.
- Muharem (2/5): - I had to wait half an hour at 1am for someone to come check me in. I booked a smoking room but they were out so i ended up with a non smoking room that had no deadbolt in the door. The bathroom door was broken and did not shut. I had to give a $50 cash deposit and was asked my cc# at check out for them to credit the money back to. I had to call and give them the number again days later before they actually did give it back to me. The AC was taped into the wall. Just extremely dirty looking and not worth the money.
- carol (2/5): - Dirty and disgusting
- Scott (8/5): - Room was cozy but the bed was a little small.
- Joyce (8/5): - We were there during renovations. But our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Raymond (4/5): Hotel is under complete reconstruction no heater k - I paid for my room said prep pet friendly when I got to the hotel they made me pay an extra fee of $10 to bring the pet in even though it’s supposed to be covered on the hotels.com payment so I think hotels.com needs to reimburse me $10
- Rebecca (4/5): Not impressed - Checked in less than 2 hrs left asked for refund there were bugs. I have multiple bites from trying to sleep. Waiting on refund still!
- Leta (8/5): Okay - It was ok for the price i think once done with remodel it will be much better it was clean service was friendly but a/c unit was hard to reach and didnt work otherwise it was okay
- Timothy (10/5): - We didn't get no clean towels
- Wilbur (6/5): - Very basic, no frills.. But for the money probably good.
- Jamie (10/5): Clean, quiet but needs work - It was a clean quiet room but the carpet needs replacement, the sink leaked and there was a lot of chipped paint and caulking in the bathroom.
- Tonya (2/5): - Fix hot water heater.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I did not stay!!! The room smelled and looked like a old smoking room!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was clean and the price was good. The vent for the bath room did work, the toliet was too close to the wall, there was tape around the tub that was coming loose andd other things in the room that needed repair.
- Bradyn (8/5): Not bad - It doesn't look good from the outside. Cardboard on windows and little white plaster bits everywhere. But the room is what matters most, and the one I got was honestly not bad. AC worked, wifi worked, hot water worked, smelled fine, no bed bugs, no weird stains. A great value for the price.
- Dudley (2/5): Disgusting - Terrible
- Jack (8/5): - The room was nice a little noisy up stairs but really friendly
- Jimmie (6/5): - It was ok there doing a make over of the place an we were put in the back of the
building everything was on the other side
the room was clean
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The picture being used on the website is not even close to being accurate. The moment we opened the door it smelled really bad. The air conditioner did not work. The TV remote would not shut off the TV and had to find the button on back of the TV. The bedding needs replaced as the white sheets had yellow looking stains and appeared very dingy. The door frame was cracked and unsafe.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Sink didn’t work the floor were toilet was sinking bugs in tub no blanket just a duvee smelled like mold
- michael (6/5): Get what you pay for - If you looking for a cheap Room But the Curtains don't close light get in all night, Room is average Clean, The staff is nice I would recommend the motel of it was 35 to 40 need work.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We thought Expedia has a minimum standard.
Not knowing that we booked at Hotel O in Oskaloosa.
When we came to the establishment we could not see it because of a horrible abandoned building in the way.
Problem was we could see it, it WAS the horrible abandon building. It was awful in presentation.
We could NOT stay there and left immediately.
We got stuck with a NO SHOW and had to pay for NOT staying in what turns out to be a Bed Bug infested, dried blood NO heat Horror trap.
Thank God we saw it before we were stuck there and could go someplace else.
I highly suggest doing heavy research when booking with Expedia every time as this was unbelievable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A friend and I used this motel for a Mother’s Day getaway. We booked the double Queen with a kitchenette. The lady at checkout was amazing. Super sweet and nice. There was a mix up and I paid for the room twice, as soon as I caught the mistake I went back to the lobby and as soon as I walked through the door she had said “I double charged you, I just realized you paid through Expedia I am so sorry let’s get you a refund” I didn’t even have to say why I was back. The main paid of our room had two queen beds, a couch, a bar table with three chairs (one that didn’t match but who cares), a microwave and refrigerator. It was very clean. However, the bed that my friend slept in have holes in her blankets from either cigarette burns or from dryer burns. The bathroom on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. As far as generic cleaning goes... it was clean. The toilet and sink were scrubbed but the bathtub had black mold, the ceiling tiles had very significant water damage and the plastic curtain liner and nasty dirt on it from where you can tell someone who has a dirty rough job had take their shower and the dirt splattered everywhere but was never cleaned up. Our first night we froze due to a major weather drip. We struggled a bit to figure out our thermostat because it was from the 1970’s. The only reason I’d stay here again is because the lady at checkout was sweet and the beds themselves were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great people. Property needs updated but they just started updating
- Dean (4/5): This hotel wont warm your heart! - This hotel didnt have heat that worked. There was only a space heater in the room! The water never got even to warm either. Very cold shower after a freezing night! It would have been easier to sleep in my van and warmer!
People in town laughed at me when I said where I was staying. "Stay anywhere else" is what they said, and so do I.
- John (10/5): Good Deal! Good Service! - Excellent customer service!
- Patrick (4/5): - It was ok at best very few towels. We did have a little issue with some hair dye coming off of recently dyed hair onto a towel and they charged me 50 bucks for 1 towel that was a bit too much for single towel but overall it wasnt a great stay i wont be returning
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Carpet gross with stains room smelt!!! Needs work bad an cleaning outside walls were even a mess! Someone needs to check into how this place is still open!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Filthy and bug ridden. Refused a refund. I should have believed all the other horrible reviews.
- msryan2u (2/5): The Most Disgusting Room I’ve Ever Had The Misfortune To Enter - I read the mostly negative reviews about this motel, but thought I’d be one of the lucky reasonable reviews because of the good price. I should have known better. It was filthy (noted in other reviews), stank (noted in other reviews), and had bugs, spiders came out of a pillow case (other reviews noted bed bugs).
We went into the room noting the smell and stains on the floor. Decided to chance it because we left to attend an event in VERY hot and humid event that day. It did have air conditioning. On returning we discovered there was not enough water pressure to and the spiders in the bed. Stripped the bedcovers, found the stained mattress.
Decided to leave and went to the front desk. I was refused a refund and offered another room. I declined because previous trip advisor negative reviews said it wouldn’t get any better. I’m out $55 dollars, but I have no bites and brought no bugs home. DO NOT GO TO THIS DISGUSTING HOLE!!! Trip Advisor staff there is one of your stickers on their door from 2011. I believe it was chain motel at the time. I’d demand them to to move it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never Again.. - I can't believe this place passed inspection to have people stay here. Too many things wrong / bad to list here. Don't stay here!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This motel was so filthy I refused to even stay there, but because I didn't cancel my reservations 48 hours in advance I was still charged for a nights stay. Don't reserve a room there. I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay there.
- Wandering_Iowan (4/5): I guess... If you must. It's a place to sleep - I guess if you must it's a place to sleep and not much more staff was friendly enough but the hotel should have been torn down years ago I don't think there has been a repair or an update since the 70's or 80's I felt like I should have been on a heroin binge tripping out in the room. Non-smoking room stock horribly of smoke bath fans not working paint peeling. The breakfast was an absolute barebones minimal nothing warm except toast. The best part of the hotel was the exterior lighting they must have stuck all their money into new LED lighting I'm surprised that airplanes don't land on top of it it's so bright Like I said before if you need a place to stay and crash for the night it's cheap enough if you want anything more or expect anything more you will be disappointed
- 603destinys (2/5): Disaster - First they charged my card a "$10+" deposit which was NOT on my receipt and only on my bank activity, and was not even brought to my attention that I was paying a "deposit." The counter worker said it varies dramatically with different cards, its just there machine. When I finally for past all the junk in the hallways (some without windows, holes in wall, etc.) I went to finally relax in my room, using the only heater that was provided of which ended up actually blowing up sending sparks and smoke through the room also cutting out the power. I immediately went to the office and she nonchalantly gave me another key to another room and said it happens a lot of the time. When I got to the second room there was period blood on floors and walls, also multiple huge burns on carpet, and to top it all off the bed was filled with dead bug skeletons AND I didn't even get shampoo and conditioner! Oh and coincidentally the tp roll and holder fell directly into the toilet. A weekend away was instead a uncomfortable disaster. HOW DO I GET A REFUND IF I STAYED THE NIGHT ANYWAYS BECAUSE THEY TOOK EVERY DOLLAR I HAD AND LATE AT NIGHT? I WAS LEFT WITH 0.75¢ IN MY BANK ACCOUNT, HELP ME PLEASE
- H4795TLcarolynw (10/5): The wills family vacation - The best vacation place to stay ,very clean, staff is super ,treated us like family ,won’t stay anywhere else. Very quite place and just all around enjoyable ,can’t say enough about the clean rooms and the owners goes way beyond being nice and making your stay with them most enjoyable.we will be there next year
- tlie4 (2/5): OVERBOOKED!! - Booked thru Hotels.Com several weeks before our planned visit to the Pella Iowa tulip festival. After driving 3 hours we were greeted at The Red carpet Inn by a locked lobby door and a "no vacancy" sign. The manager did answer the door but explained that the hotel was overbooked, then showed us a list of about 25 people on the overbooked list. Not cool!! Not sure if the problem was hotels.com or the hotel itself but as the manager had a list and knew no rooms would be available it would have been decent to at least have given us a phone call and let us know before we arrived. Luckily we got the last room at the local Super 8. Not sure what other people on the list did.
- kathybR2219PX (8/5): Cowboy likes it ! - Hello. This is my second time staying at the Red Carpet inn in Oskaloosa Iowa and I will say that any time I'm in the area I will stay here. Back in 2014 I stayed here for over a month while working a job in Ottumwa. The management was very eager to help with all of your needs and they were very nice. I work construction jobs so you know I'm not very picky but this place was great. I'm sad to say that this motel is not close enough to the job I'm going to but I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area of Oskaloosa. It's quiet and off the beaten path. Don't judge it by the outward appearance, but stay a night and judge for yourself.

- K360601 (2/5): Severely disappointing - Upon arrival, I knew this place was NOT what it claimed to be. The exterior is very run down. Get into my reserved room, no A/C. Get switched to a new room, no doorknob on bathroom door. Key won't work in outside door. Get new key for outside door. No black out curtains in room. Only blinds, that don't quite close all the way. The pool (which they claim to be beautiful) has not been opened in years. No ice machine, no pop machine. On site laundry which appears to be in a basement ( I did not go down there, the stairs reminded me of something out of a horror movie) The claim to have a continental breakfast, not even a cup of coffee. No coffee makers in rooms either. About a dozen channels on the television, mostly news and sports. The wifi is about the only decent thing about the place. Now, on the door issues and the A/C issue, the girl running the place, tried to be accommodating. But you can see that the actual owners have left her with literally nothing to do or say, but apologize. Needless to say, save your cash (the place is pricey for just a bed to sleep on), sleep in your car or find a different motel.
- V596FBjamesc (2/5): Needs to be a minus rating - The worst place I've ever paid money to stay in. It was not clean, they painted the bathroom during the first day while we were out, but it was so bad I don't know why. The safety catch was missing on the door, they advertise a kitchenette or some such and there was nothing but a small fridge and tiny microwave. No coffee maker, no napkins, no Kleenex, and not much else. The hostess apologized for not having time to service the room or bring fresh towels on the second day, so nothing was done. I was ready to leave anyway, as we had an over supply of bugs, both dead and alive. Also, if you don't have to visit Oskaloosa, I wouldn't bother. Nothing to do there and they have a speed trap as well. Stay in Pella or even Des Moines if you are going to the races in Knoxville. Pell is a nice town and they have some nice hotels.
- MsMelissa3009 (8/5): Love the new management - The ONLY reason I am giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because yes the new management is still in the process of trying to fix everything that the previous people did not want to do anything about obviously, but with that being said, me and my boyfriend and my son have stayed here on 2 separate occasions and both for a week at a time and I have talked to the new manager and she is a VERY friendly and caring woman and actually cares about her guests and not just because it is her "job" like most hotels u stay at, she always talked to my son and even made him a slushie one night, which he loved...so just in the time I have been staying here I have seen alot of improvements they already have made and are planning to make but everything takes time, but for the price of this hotel and the amazing hospitality and SINCERE hospitality you get from the manager and the workers and everyone, in my opinion there isn't a better place that's worth your money anywhere around here, the manager is a VERY nice woman and is VERY determined to make the hotel a great and welcoming place for everyone and keep it affordable and I think that she is doing an amazing job...so hope this helps some of you all out n give them a chance cause it really is a great hotel with great people...will definitely return anytime n every time we r in the area. 8
- 24annl (2/5): Not happy with the place - The air conditioner was leaking water all over the floor there was mold in the shower, the refrigerator stunk, and tv channels were fuzzy and barely coming in. If they could do little updates the room would be much better, some cleaning and touch ups would be nice.
- Fun2playarcadegames (6/5): Welcome back to the 70's/80's - I'd first like to say that the day we checked in new staff had just been put in place. We were in town to visit friends for a few days and wanted a budget motel as we didn't really need more than a comfortable room to sleep and shower. That's what we got. The room was clean, had good working ac, TV, mini fridge and microwave. The shower needed a new sprayer and the soap dispensers needed to be stocked. As well the grounds needed a little sprucing up. The new staff was very friendly and made sure the AC was on before we checked in. I'm guessing the new staff will be fixing the small issues in time. You can't beat the price for the value in the area. They do a Continental breakfast, but didn't use that amenity.
If back in the area we would consider booking with them again.
- NCorCA (8/5): Pleasant Stay - The man at the front desk was very helpful and friendly despite the fact that I woke him up and the middle of the night. He gave a really fair price and the room was clean. It was a one night stay and I am not disappointed that I chose that motel.
- slapknocker123 (2/5): Disgusting hotel - Room smelled terrible. Bathroom was filthy. Toilet had urine on it from at least one previous guest. Did not even shower got the heck out of there as soon as it was light out!!! I am a housekeeper in Eau Claire Wi. If I left a room looking like that I would be fired!!!
- ShilpaP_11 (10/5): A NICE FRIENDLY PLACE - I must say I was skeptical when we booked the hotel (with all the other reviews) but as it turned out we ended up loving the place. As my 9 year old son says " It Was AWESOME". We had wonderful time. The place is Excellent for the price!!!!! the rooms including the bathrooms were very clean and best of all... they had fresh smell (not the typical Motel Smell). The staff is kind and friendly not to mention very helpful. We stayed there for 10 days and my kids loved the open space and they made friends with kids of the staff family. All my 4 boys had a great time there. I would certainly go back to this hotel.
- JenniferBarnes88 (10/5): LOVE THIS HOTEL - I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and I will again in the future. The rooms are very clean, and are very good value for the price. Everyone at the hotel is super nice and friendly. I will continue to go back to this hotel.
- nothappy37743 (2/5): Never stay there again - The bathroom was so dirty (the stool had waste in it from a previous guest) that we had to ask for another room. The second room wasn't much better. We wouldn't have stayed but had to get to a family gathering and there wasn't time to go to another hotel. We went to Wal-Mart and bought disinfectant. My wife would not use the bathroom. Not worth the price. Go somewhere else.
- Shella69 (2/5): This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen! - This hotel was so dirty and run down. I don't know how they can rent these rooms. The room they gave us was so dirty and smelled horrible. The floors were stained the ceiling was stained from leaking. The sheets and towels were dirty. The blinds were broken. The room smelled so bad you couldn't stand the smell. We got our money back and stayed in a different hotel. BE AWARE......DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
- prnutech (8/5): Family Friendly place to stay - Its a very old motel, but for the price they charge its very clean. All the staff in the hotel is friendly and more than willing to help. The location is great, very peaceful, just outside town and a restaurant with a bar just next door. All in all a very good experience staying here, would definitely stay at this place next time I'm in Oskaloosa.
