• TrinaSchoon (10/5): Bucket list safari at first class resorts - We loved having the experience of two excellent & very different resorts with excellent staffs. Kapama River Lodge was larger with more than one restaurant. Kapama Buffalo Camp was an intimate tented camp - loved watching the mischievous monkeys playing near the one restaurant every day. Both resorts had terrific food and very responsive service-oriented staffs. Our drivers and spotters at both resorts were very knowledgeable, personable and really great.
• Richard (10/5): Buffalo camp is exactly what we wanted for our first Safari in Africa. We'll be back! - Buffalo Camp was more than we could have expected and we are already making plans to return. It is luxurious but also intimate. The food is exceptional and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is always warm and welcoming. Our guide Themba and tracker Kenneth were great and found all of the animals we were looking for and explained everything. It's a perfect place. I can't imagine anyone not liking something.

The staff (all professionals) became family for a few days and the property and the magic of Africa did not disappoint!

The tents are luxurious, the food and beverages are plentiful and delicious and nothing is too much trouble for any of the members of staff. It is never possible to predict what wild animals you will see but our driver and guide were brilliant at finding us wildlife to watch, we were never disappointed.

I was anxious that the visit gave them the 'thrill' of seeing the big animals and that the accommodation was luxurious and the staff helpful. All my hopes were fulfilled and I'm delighted I chose this camp for our first visit.

We got to see so many animals and enjoyed learning about the natural environment and animals from Vern and Endy. To return after each drive to amazing food and the luxury of the lodge was brilliant. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

I was torn between a few different places, this was our first safari so I wasn't sure what to look for. I am SO pleased I settled on this one! From the minute you're picked up at the airport to the minute you're dropped off it is amazing! The staff are sooo wonderful they cat do enough for you. The game drives & drivers are brilliant! We had sippo and tembo & they were brilliant! Really knowledgeable and fun! The room was so beautiful, animals were lying sleeping under it when we arrived! The food... wow! I am vegetarian and was worried about what I'd eat but I couldn't have had more options. Every menu had plenty of veggie options and if ever there wasn't something I fancied, they chefs were more than happy to make me something different! The waiters were attentive, remembering your drinks orders and never letting a glass get empty. I was lying by the pool one day and he brought me the soft drinks he knew I'd been drinking and just set them beside me. Eveything, was so far past our expectations. Our only regret is not booking more than 2 nights!
• daniellewC1073WL (10/5): Trip of a lifetime! - We wanted to do a safari for the first time and had looked at a few different places. I wasn't sure which to book and I am so glad we booked here! From the second we landed at the airport everything was amazing. Within 20 minutes of landing we were already seeing animals on our drive through the reserve. We had amazing guides who were knowledgeable and fun. We were welcomed by staff with drinks and smiles. They showed us around the camp and took us to our room. We stayed at buffalo camp. The rooms were beyond anything I'd expected. There were animals lay sleeping under ours when we arrived! The rooms were cleaned twice daily, beds made, fridge restocked etc. The food was the best we've ever had. I am vegetarian and was worried I'd be hungry, knowing there wouldn't be shops around I had planned to take some snacks but there was no need at all. I was told on day 1 if I wanted something that wasn't on the menu I could just ask, I never needed to do this as every menu catered for everything. The staff serving your food and drinks were brilliant. They remembered what drinks we liked and would just bring things over. One day I was lay by the pool and someone brought over a water and a Coke Zero, knowing they're the 2 things I drank through the day. Attention to detail was beyond. Our game drives were amazing! Our hosts were so fun and knowledgeable and we saw absolutely everything! We booked for 2 nights and wished we had done longer. It was the best trip we have ever been on!

• nataliekF7621WG (8/5): A Timeless Safari Lodge Experience – Despite the Rain - We stayed at the lodge for our honeymoon and had a truly memorable experience with many beautiful moments. Even though our flight was delayed, the team was incredibly flexible and picked us up from the airport without any issues. On the drive to the lodge, we already saw the first animals — such a magical and exciting first impression. And although we arrived too late for the start of the afternoon game drive, the team still managed to reconnect us with the group so we could join for the rest of the ride. Thank you, Mark — we appreciated this so much. The atmosphere at the lodge feels a little like stepping back in time, in the best possible way. It’s exactly how we imagined a safari lodge from all the books we’d read — classic, timeless, almost as if from years ago, but with all the luxury and comfort you need. We loved our tent: beautifully designed, romantic, with a fantastic bed and a wonderful bathtub that was perfect for warming up after the drives. Drinks were available everywhere throughout the day, and the food was excellent — especially the many thoughtful gluten-free options that were always provided without me ever having to ask. We did, however, experience extremely strong winds (around 60 km/h) and a lot of rain, which made the tent move and become quite loud at night, so sleeping was a little difficult. This was in November, with temperatures dropping from 35°C to around 15°C overnight. During the two days of heavy rain, we returned from the drives completely soaked despite the ponchos. Still, coming back to the warm fire in the lodge, where everyone gathered to dry off, created such a cozy and special atmosphere. The game drives were a highlight thanks to our fantastic driver-and-spotter team. Even though the rain limited wildlife sightings on most drives, they gave their absolute best, and we still managed to see the Big Five. The vehicles are not overcrowded, which gives you plenty of space, and the sundowner and coffee stops in the bush felt magical every single time. Unfortunately, due to the weather, only two of our drives were not heavily affected by rain, and we could only do proper stops on those. Despite the challenging weather, the kindness of the staff, the intimate atmosphere, and our one sunny game drive made our honeymoon stay special. With a bit more flexibility for weather-affected guests, this already beautiful lodge could offer an even more exceptional experience. Just be prepared that rain is always possible — and it does

There wasn't a single detail that was missed. Every staff member treated us like royalty. The twice daily game rides were breathtaking. Our guide and tracker were both incredbile at ensuring that we saw everything that we possibly could while 100% ensuring our safety. The food and the service were both exemplary as well. This is defintiely a South African destination and experience thatyou cannot miss!

Their attention to detail was outstanding, facilities gorgeous and the service was exceptional. We loved our room, it was so peaceful and was amazing sitting out on the balcony with monkeys and other wildlife around us. All the food we had was amazing and we enjoyed the menu change each day. The thing that really makes this place is the staff, every person we spoke with was so warm, helpful and welcoming and made our stay so memorable. A special shoutout to our guide Daniel who helped us tick off our bucket list animal sightings. We have travelled a lot but are unsure anywhere will ever compare to this place. • Venture134787 (10/5): Outstanding - It was five star luxury in a game park! The drives were excellent - we saw lions, buffalo, elephants, rhinos, hypos, hyenas, leopards, giraffes,m and more. The staff, especially our guides Ben and Brighton, were brilliant. There was an excellent bar, menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a great stay and we were sorry to leave.
• R0sina (10/5): Simply Amazing - Absolutely marvellous. We were picked at the airport by safari trucks and this is where our adventure began, seeing all manor of animals on the short trip to Kapama. When we arrived at our destination we were met and welcomed by friendly members of the staff for a seamless check in. The 'tents' were beyond comfortable, nothing had been forgotten, wonderful. Everything was organised with perfection. Food and drink was fantastic and plentiful. Safari trips, both morning and evening were truly wonderful, from the big 5 to everything else; reptiles, insects, birds and so many more. Our guide, Wern, was extremely knowledgeable and Indy, the spotter was brilliant too. Both of them were approachable and we soon developed a good rapport and felt (and hope) that we left as freinds, it's certainly how it seemed. • Sravichar2017 (10/5): Private reserve with great accommodation and safari experience - 5 star accommodation - big rooms with modern amenities, excellent staff, great dining experience, caters to vegetarians and custom meal requests to support dietary requests. Every staff member is there to support customers experience, this makes it all about it. Spa is excellent with a zen like experience, one must experience to appreciate it. Game drives are excellent and you will see big 5 and more. Mark the guide is excellent and strives hard to give you the best experience. I would suggest the team there not to change guides in the middle of the schedule as it disrupts the customer experience as the new guide does not have the carryover of the previous guide. This made my last 2 drives a poor experience.

Not one things was a failure....wake up calls - on time, game drives - amazing 3 hours per drive of pure wonder and discovery ( thanks toThemba and Kenneth). • SunColor (10/5): Incredible Safari Experience! - Kapama Buffalo the private preserve was an amazing intimate place to experience a safari. There are only 10 "glamping tents" so it is a very intimate environment with only a few guests at a time. Everything about Buffalo camp is incredible! From the quality of the Safari (we saw so many animals up close and observing them doing their thing). Talking to other people that went to Kruger national Park, they seem to not see the animals close as we were able to at Kapama Reserve. The dining was gourmet style with an incredible menu choices. Having all the drinks included was very nice. I can't say enough about the attention to detail, hospitality and service that the Buffalo camp staff extended to us. There are other camps at the Kapama Reserve that are larger, have Jim and spa type amenities and allow kids. However, the intimate environment at Buffalo camp is an incredible experience especially for a couple.

The camp itself is beautifully maintained: from the outside, the tented suites have a charming treehouse-style look, but inside they are clean, luxurious, and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom and shower were excellent, and we really appreciated the small pantry always being stocked with snacks and drinks. The room was cleaned twice a day, and the housekeeping staff deserves five stars — everything was spotless, and the attention to detail was like that of a five-star hotel. Of course, the game drives were the highlight of our adventure — exciting, educational, and unforgettable. We also enjoyed the bush walk, which offered a different, up-close experience of the reserve. The fine dining each night was a treat, and we loved the chance to try exotic meats like crocodile, springbok, and kudu. From reading other guests’ reviews before our trip, we noticed many people praised the friendly and knowledgeable guides, the peaceful setting of the camp, and the personalized service — and we can now say we completely agree.

The staff at the camp are all so welcoming and lovely and honestly we cannot thank them enough. Our guides, Trust and Endy were absolutely incredible. They kept us entertained and were extremely knowledgeable on the wildlife and we were incredibly lucky to see all the big five while we were away. We went on the complimentary bush walk with Ben and Endy which was very good and we learnt a lot! So thank you to all the people working at the Buffalo camp - you made our trip so special! The food was incredible - you will never go hungry!! We are both vegetarian so really appreciated options and very good food! Our meals were made even better by Dennis who was always so smiley and happy! Thank you! The room itself was impeccable. Thank you to the staff for always keeping the room so clean and tidy, it really helped after a long day! Also, the camp is child free so a very relaxing environment! We learned so much about animal behavior from the knowledgeable game driver/guide and tracker. Another highlight was that shortly after our arrival, we decided to extend our stay by one more night, and the lodge offered us a great deal, which we really appreciated. We saw lions, leopards, buffalo, rhino, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and more all within our first 2 rides! We were lucky enough to see the Big 5! The staff was very friendly every morning and evening , they have snacks and drinks they give you mid game drive that was a nice surprise!

I would suggest a pizza night on the menu lol but that’s me just being fussy

Staff were amazing and the limited numbers on viewers were great! The food was fantastic. The property needs attention and maintenance. 5star rating but pool loungers are in bad condition with cushions thorn and dirty really old. Very un hygienic. Towels in rooms are similar old and over used!

The resort is calm and relaxing, but allows for late night board games and early wake up for game drive. We were able to see the big five, while enjoying ourselves mid day and relax at the spa. Fabulous venue, would highly recommend.
• victoria_higam (10/5): An unforgettable three days! - We spent mid part of our honeymoon at Buffalo Camp and it truly was spectacular! Every single second at the camp was unforgettable and we want to pass on our heartfelt thanks to the entire team. Starting with the camp itself, the word tents is used very loosely as the accommodation is complete luxury with all amenities you would expect of a 5* hotel with the softest sheets, large bathroom, excellent shower overlooking the bush and balcony, the room was cleaned spotlessly everyday including a turndown service. We also used the spa at River Lodge one day to receive a couples massage and time at the pool which was incredible in a stunning location. Secondly the drives! This was our first foray into safaris and it was more than we could have ever imagined. We felt in safe hands with Mark and Zakis across the five drives and saw such an array of wildlife including the big five. The sunrises, the sundowner drinks and seeing animals so up close was a true bucket list event all from the comfort of the jeep vehicles. Thirdly the food, wow you are SPOILT! The snacks available on the drives, the breakfast menu that changes everyday with classic dishes and local specialities, three course lunches, high tea snacks and three course dinners. It was so varied and delicious, with an extensive wine list and drinks menu to choose from throughout the day also. The evening spent in the Boma eating by the campfire felt so unique. A personal shout out to the incredibly friendly faces across our three days including Gift and Thabane ☺️ plus a thank you to chef Patience for personally sending me the soup recipes! I could continue to write an essay on Buffalo Camp and the bubble we lived in for the four days, it was complete luxury and exhilaration all at the same time. No task is too big or small for any staff member we came across. Thank you, thank you!
• Chris (10/5): The perfect safari stay - Kapama Buffalo camp exceeded all expectations. It’s a small and more interment accommodation compared to their other camps on site. We stayed 3 nights, and managed to see the Big 5 and the Ugly 5 within our stay. Each game drive had no more than 6 in the vehicle which meant everyone had a side seat with a perfect view. While it’s obviously not guaranteed I found the team did everything possible to see all animals. Saying this, I do think we had the best guide - Ben. The wake up calls at 5am were made manageable when you have an amazing guide like Ben. And, an all inclusive stay made everything so easy - great food, awesome local wines. My only feedback would be stop making coffee from the machine at the bar, the in-room coffee-pod machine makes it so much better lol the team is obviously not baristas.

The team there are committed to making sure that the guests get not only a great viewing experience but food and hospitality to match. If you are new to safaris this is certainly the place to come and easy access from the Airport.

The service is excellent, including 2 safari's every day, a morning safari and and evening one. Our ranger, Trust, was excellent, made sure we see all animals and plenty of them... the food is also excellent.
