Guest Reviews
- anita (10/5): - beautiful older style property. The hostess was wonderful.
it was about a five minute drive to sandy cove beach which is free to access and has a lovely grainy sand beach with excellent views.
- Stephen (8/5): - It's a beautiful OLD inn, and the management was very welcoming and helpful. The room was small with old furniture, etc., but clean. Very quiet near the bay.
- Benoît (8/5): - Auberge sympathique et charmante dans une grosse maison victorienne. On profite d'une tranquillité exceptionnelle avec un décor d'une autre époque.
- Leah (6/5): - Manager was very friendly and accommodating. Property was advertised as having a pool table and bar…not so. Very clean. Sunroom a bit musty smelling (smelled like my grandparents home when I was a kid lol) but the rest of the B&B was very nice. Overall a great experience.
- Wayne (6/5): - A little musty. Humid. Old building. Narrow hallways. Bath room across the hall.
- Gerry (8/5): - Great place
- brenda (10/5): - Continental breakfast . No toaster or bread to make toast?
- Tanis (10/5): - Loved the homey feel of the house. We were the only ones at the inn and the owner had to leave but left us keys and even made a microwave available to warm up food we brought. We were able to hang out in the evening in the front sunroom and relax. Nicest evening of our week in Nova Scotia ao far.
- Virginia (10/5): - Quaint and quiet
- William (10/5): - A nice (free) continental breakfast to start the day. A jovial and helpful hostess (Debbie). Clean room with nice firm beds, and a large bathroom with shower and tub.
- Stefano (6/5): - The place was alright just to sleep, not much of a breakfast and no A/C
- Ione (4/5): - There’s no place to eat you have to drive back 1/2 hr to Digby. The continental breakfast was really poor. Power went out and there was no water. So there isn’t a generator to supply water
- Valerie (4/5): - I love them exterior .Inside the sunroom was nice and the dining room. Old furnishings were nice. They placed smelled unbearably musty. Upstairs the room had not a breath of air , the window i finally got open. Television consisted of 1 channel. Breakfast was a joke considering what I paid. Host was friendly at first but seriously does not like her job. I will not stay again.
- Connie (10/5): - No issues checking in. Surroundings were beautiful. There is a beautiful beach nearby. It was very quiet and felt very safe. Hostess was very sweet and kind and she accommodated us with an early continental breakfast. The room was hot (there is no air conditioning) and normally, where this inn is on the water, it would have been cooler but the temperatures of late had been elevated. Wifi was included but was spotty.
- Katherine (8/5): - It was situated in front of the ocean
- Nilmini (6/5): - This propty is too far from the main road, and bit interiror. Only we stayed on night to take the ferry next day.
- Mogens og Lone (8/5): - Pænt sted med fine gardiner - lidt slidt, men rent
- Ellen (10/5): - Debbie was a gem.
The inn is in the perfect location for a quiet stay in small-town Nova Scotia.
- Malcolm (8/5): - The staff we pleasant. Parking was terrible.
- Bret (8/5): - N/S
- JF (6/5): No AC but the rest is okay - Well... It is called "Olde" for a reason. It is old. That does not mean it's awful or terrible. Incredible service there and the room was very spacious. Only thing I would have loved is Air conditionner.
- Annie (2/5): - Very outdated
wallpaper falling of
no ventilation windows opened with wood stick
Smells really bad when you come in
Pictures are not true
- Debbie (8/5): - Quaint.
- Dominic (8/5): - No elevator. Too old for our liking.
- FEDERICO (10/5): - Nice place to rest while going to see the whales! Very friendly staff.
- Michael (8/5): Old world charm! - Beautiful old home being used as a b&b. yes it needs updating on the outside but inside it’s full of old world charm. The manager (I’m sorry I forgot her name) was absolutely wonderful to me as I locked myself out of the room late at night and she woke up to give me a spare key. I was even allowed to wash my motorcycle a bit before I left. Pleasant stay!
- Normand (10/5): - Beautiful old house in a quiet place. Friendly staff
- Sandra (6/5): - We were well greeted place clean no heat at night could not close windows. Breakfast was lovely .
- Louis (8/5): - Really like the place nice old inn from the early 1900. Debbie was very pleasant with her customer
- Janice (6/5): - Very authentic. Breakfast 2as mediocre. Coffee wasnt great
- Verified traveler (8/5): Make sure to call and specify that you have a dog. - We booked it as it was pet friendly. Once we got there we were greeted gruffly by a man who said we don't take dogs but would make an exception. (The Hotel.com site said they took dogs but apparently it didn't say "not in the main house" which we booked but only in the cabin which was already booked by another couple that had a dog and who was told the same thing). The hotel was clean and had a nice Victorian atmosphere to it. The breakfast was ok. The best part was a beautiful beach within a few minutes drive and an awesome sunset.
- Liliane (8/5): - It was so quaint and pleasant. Debbie was so helpful and kind.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A gem! - It was a privledge to stay at The Olde Villiage Inn. Built in 1890, it has been an Inn ever since. Beautiful location and lovely decor of the era. If you appreciate historic buidings this Inn is a gem.
- Bruce (8/5): - Was a little way out of Digby. Room a little musty smelling, but clean. No air conditioning. Would have been nice. Nice old building.
- C (8/5): Pure old fashioned charm - The manager gave us a warm welcome; she and her spouse live next door to the inn. Our room was small and cozy, with a spotlessly clean en suite bathroom. Antiques and other evidence of the inn's history (est. 1890) abound. Very grateful for the complementary continental breakfast!
- Carl (6/5): Close to a beach - It was okay the cabin everything was very dated and was a bit musty, the bed uncomfortable, but there wasn't any other hotels there, so I would stay there again.
- Constance (8/5): Olde Villaage Inn - A very friendly, out of the way B & B. Took a while to get there, but a nice room and breakfast in the am. Beautiful sun porch and very near an interesting beach.
- Tom (6/5): Midway out on Digby Neck - Quaint captain's home style B&B. Nice living room. Located in Sandy Cove - NOT Centreville - it's about 7 km beyond Centreville. Look for signs. Rooms were adequate but several widows painted shut. Friendly staff and a proper continental breakfast. Closest restaurant is down at the ferry about a 10 minute drive. Nothing else near by.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overwhelming musty smell - This is a fabulous "has-been" place that must have been delightful years ago...but has since fell into neglect. The overwhelming musty smell was allergy-inducing. The beds were old fashioned, small, and uncomfortable. This place has huge potential, but unfortunately, it is currently without an invested caretaker who wants to make the place inviting.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location near whale watching tours. - Super Cute room, need to use stairs to get to room, nearest place to eat is 20 minutes away in Digby which is a lovely city on water.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pretty inn with a pretty view. Very quiet peaceful area - we left very relaxed!
- Jeannie (8/5): Hot and Cold Rooms but a neat location - We had two rooms. The rooms were nice and clean. The problem was when we arrived we were the only ones there and the heat was off. We turned the heat on and one room got really nice and warm. During the night someone turned the heat off and one of our rooms froze. They were so cold that the woke up in the middle of the night shivering and did not sleep. Messed up our travels for the next day as they just wanted to sleep all day.
