- Ivana (10/5): - Het verblijf was heerlijk, in slaap vallen met geluiden van alle kikkers en wakker worden in een prachtige groene omgeving. Op het terrein zelf zijn een aantal mooie wandelingen te maken in het bos. In de avond is er een tour als het donker is (al om 18 uur) als alle kikkers actief worden. Mis het niet, dit is echt fantastisch! Het personeel was heel behulpzaam, ze hebben voor ons transfer geregeld vanaf het vliegveld in San Jose voor een goede prijs. Het eten was ook heerlijk. Bestel een ananassap op het terras en kijk om je heen naar de vogels, schildpadden en vlinders.

- Hannah (9/5): Tolles Dschungelerlebnis! - Einfach klasse gelegen im Dschungel! - Aber 4x4 absolut zu empfehlen! Netter Bistro-Bereich mit Blick in den Dschungel. Großes Zimmer. Da die Hütte komplett undicht sind, kommt bei Licht drinnen so viel Insektenzeug rein, das Mückennetze über den Betten eine tolle Ergänzung wären. Das Frühstück war mit kleinen Mengen für viele Menschen eher stressig.

El bosque magnífico con rutas explicativa y muy bien señaladas. Sin olvidar al personal, todos encantadores, serviciales y gente lindisima. En cuanto pueda me encantaría volver y lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Todo me encantó, merece la pena desplazarse hasta allí si lo que busca el viajero es naturaleza en todo su esplendor.

- Peter Hofstee (10/5): Een belevenis! - Heel vriendelijk personeel. De gezellige eetruimte, waar je lekker kan zitten om wat te drinken en een spelletje kan spelen. Je kan er 's avonds goed eten. Goede WiFi (niet in kmr) Fantastische ervaring om tussen de bomen te slapen, praktisch in de buitenlucht. Het domein eromheen is mooi om in te wandelen. Veel mooie kikkers gezien! Eigenijk niks, maar als ik toch iets moest zeggen... De weg ernaartoe is best stijl en het ligt vrij afgelegen, dus je kan niet zomaar even ergens naartoe. Maar daardoor juist weer erg mooi in de natuur!!

- Richard (10/5): A true hidden gem that everyone should experience - This resort is exceptional and I’d recommend anyone wanting to experience the rainforest to stay here the tree houses were better than we expected and the kids loved the experience. Waking up on the veranda with a fresh coffe as the sun rose watching the wildlife will be something I don’t forget in a long time, my only regret was I didn’t stay longer. And the food was exceptional as was the guided night walks. I spent many hours walking the trails without seeing a single person absolute bliss Nothing it was an amazing experience

- Michael (7/5): Schöne Unterkunft, Service schlecht - Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön. Nicht ganz wie erwartet, da so viele Bewertungen geschrieben haben, dass man sich wie im Dschungel fühlt. Das haben wir nicht so empfunden. In dieser Hinsicht hatten wir deutlich spannendere Unterkünfte. Trotzdem eine sehr schöne Unterkunft Leider haben wir auch einen sehr großen negativen Punkt. Der Service-Verantwortliche war sehr überheblich und unfreundlich. Ein Beispiel: Unter uns sind 2 veganer. Wir haben die Nachtführung mit Abendessen genommen. Wir habe deutlich darauf hingewiesen, dass wir vegan sind. Direkt bei der Buchung und auch am Abend. Uns wurde versichert, dass wir etwas veganes bekommen. Letztendlich haben wir trockenen Reis ohne Soße und Buttergemüse dazu bekommen. Als wir darauf hingewiesen haben, gab es keinerlei entgegenkommen. Sehr schade. Auch die Flexibilität beim Frühstück und der Umgang mit Gästen lässt leider sehr zu wünschen übrig. Obwohl alles sehr schön ist, würden wir nicht wieder kommen. Hatten in Costa Rica deutlich bessere Unterkünfte.

- Arjen (8/5): Rainforest stay with amazing wildlife, good value, and a few practical trade-offs - The lodge is truly in the rainforest. We saw many animals near our lodge and from the restaurant, especially after sunrise. The restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast is good, though not very extensive. If your group size allows, I recommend choosing a tent instead of a family room. The rooms are on the other side of the road and feel less immersed in the rainforest than the tents. We were happy we could switch from a room to a tent. The shower only gets lukewarm at best. The last 3 km to the lodge is a dirt road. A 4x4 is not necessary, but I do recommend an SUV for the extra ground clearance. Most activities are near La Fortuna, so expect about a one-hour drive each way. Staff could be more helpful with booking tours and activities. They provide a list of tours and activities, and we wanted to book one from that list. The staff member on duty in the morning couldn’t assist because she was new, but said she would discuss it with a more experienced colleague once they arrived. When we came back at the end of the day, the experienced colleague only advised us to arrange it ourselves because it was high season. In the end, it worked out, as attractions were very responsive on WhatsApp.
- sabine (10/5): Wundervoll erholsam und beeindrucken von der lanschaftlichen Umgebung - Die völlige Abgeschiedenheit, mitten im Regenwald mit den entsprechenden Infos, was dort zum Erhalt bzw. Aufforstung getan wird! War alles einfach, aber super! Die Ritze unter der Tür hätte beinahe eine Schlange hereinspazieren lassen, ein Handtuch wirkte klärend!

- Beate (10/5): Natur-Baumhaus in absoluter Ruhe - Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis: Unser Baumhaus lag mitten in der Natur. Es bietet Ruhe, Ursprünglichkeit und Abstand vom Alltag. Die Einrichtung ist bewusst sehr einfach gehalten, was perfekt zum Konzept passt und den Charme des Aufenthalts ausmacht. Die etwas abgelegene Lage sorgt für viel Ruhe und Natur pur. Ein echtes Highlight ist die Hotel-Küche: den ganzen Tag geöffnet und mit authentischen, unglaublich leckeren Gerichten vom Frühstück bis zum Abendessen. Direkt vom Hotel aus kann man Trails erkunden, Massagen genießen oder Touren buchen, was den Aufenthalt sehr vielseitig macht. Wir können diese Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen. Ein Auto ist allerdings von Vorteil. ./.

Mal wiederkommen, weil es soooo hübsch ist - es ist sooooo hübsch: Die Anlage, das Zimmer, die Natur - das Essen ist lecker und preiswert - die Massage für 55$ war super - man hat ganz viel Natur drum herum und kann selber loslaufen oder eine Tour buchen Das Hotel ist sehr naturnah, man sollte also wissen: - dass die Anfahrt ein wenig holprig ist aber mit jedem Auto machbar, wenn man vorsichtig fährt - dass es Ritzen und Löcher gibt, durch die Insekten ins Haus kommen könnten, also lieber Licht aus oder nicht stören lassen unter dem Moskitonetz - dass der Solarwassertank nur begrenzt warmes Wasser bereithält - dass die Insekten einen extremen Krach tag und nacht veranstalten (während unseres Aufenthaltes bestimmt bis zu 90db) - dass das WLAN nur in der Lobby geht

- Serge (7/5): Prachtige locatie, verder erg basic - Locatie is geweldig, je waant je echt in het regenwoud, accomodaties hebben een leuk terras. Er is een zwembad om af te koelen. De kamers/tenthuisjes zijn basic, geen wifi op de kamer, wel in het restaurant. Het bed was helaas erg slecht, te zacht en kuil in het midden. De douche was als ‘waterval’ concept leuk bedacht maar door lage waterdruk werkte dit totaal niet en moest je tegen de muur aangedrukt staan om een straaltje op te vangen.
- Thomas (10/5): Traumhafte Unterkunft für Naturliebhaber! Die Anlage ist wunderschön angelegt, direkt im Urwald und wenn man ein Zelt bu - Eine traumhafte, natur nahe Unterkunft! Wenn man den Dschungel hautnah erleben möchte, ist man in dieser Unterkunft genau richtig. Wir haben es sehr genossen.
- Gabriele (10/5): - Unterkunft (Holzhütte) im Regenwald mit Blick (und Balkon) ins Dickicht des Waldes. Die Rezeption mit Restaurant lag ca 200 m entfernt, ebenfalls mit Blick in den Regenwald. Zwei kleine Pools sind vorhanden, für die man extra Handtücher erhalten hat. Sehr leckeres Frühstück, welches als Buffet angeboten wurde mit Obst, gebratenen Bananen, Reis und Bohnen, auf Wunsch diverse Ei-Omlett-Kreationen. Eigene Trails um die Unterkunft. Mit 4Wheel gut zu erreichen (Stein-Schotterpiste mit den typischen Schlaglöchern). Nachhaltigkeit und Erhalt von Costa RicasNatur/Regenwald wird groß geschrieben. Auf Wunsch konnten eir dort im Restaurant zu Abend essen. Zu wenig bis gar keine Aufhänge-Möglichkeiten für Handtücher, Badebekleidung etc. In der Hütte.
- Maximilian (9/5): Rustic, rich eco lodge south of Fortuna, enjoy the nature - Beautiful and interesting eco lodge located in a reserve south of Fortuna with full services including Spa, tours, restaurant. La Tigra offers spartan but clean lodge style rooms with large beds and bunk beds suitable for large families like ours (5). We got 2 rooms and were assigned rooms in the Bosquera section of the property which is away from the hotel proper up a hill. 4x4 is mandatory for this place. We had a crossover with AWD and it struggled. The trails on the property are amazing, the diversity of wildlife is incredible the frogs are everywhere and the guides are passionate and educational. The breakfast daily is very well prepared and diverse Costa Rican cuisine with fresh eggs. We loved our daily breakfast and due to the location also had multiple dinners here thankfully the kitchen does a great job making Casados, fajitas as well as kid friendly options. This was first Costa Rica trip… with more foresight I would have limited stay here to 2 nights and stayed in Fortuna proper other nights. The lodge is great but it is a 45-60 min drive to get to all the stuff in Fortuna. The road to the property is rustic and rough… very bumpy and is 15 min of slow driving everytime you want to come or go. So know what you are getting into on that front.

Nice trails and lots of frogs! The road up was quite tricky but fine with SUV. Like most places in CR.

- Shelly (8/5): A magical stay - The setting was exceptionally good right in the middle of the rainforest, with frogs singing to fall asleep to. The staff were so helpful and did all they could to accommodate our needs. The restaurant was wonderful with a great included breakfast and eveything we had of the evening menu was delicious. We stayed in adjoining little huts/houses and unfortunately they weren't soundproofed at all so we could hear the neighbours clearly. This didn't take away from the truly magical time we had here, experiencing and exploring some of Costa Ricas rainforest and the conservation that La Tigra does here.

- Simone (8/5): - Super sauber, nettes Personal. Mitten im Wald Wir hatten ein Appartement neben dem direkt andere Appartements waren, und es war super hellhörig. Wir könnten den Nachbarn schnarchen hören. Und da es die klassischen Wellblech Dächer waren, war es super laut, bei Regen und wenn die Sonne drauf schien, dann macht das Dach einen Höllenlärm. Ein ganzer Bus voll mit deutschen Touris kam, voll der Hotspot für deutsche Touris. Die Lage ist krass ab vom Schuss, definitiv 4x4 nötig. Nicht unbedingt die beste Lage um jeden Tag Ausflüge zu machen aber um mitten in der Natur zu sein auf jedenfall oder um dort direkt guided Touren mit zumachen.

- Christiane (6/5): Interessante aber nicht empfehlenswerte Erfahrung. - Der Frühstücksbereich. Unser Zimmer hatte keinerlei Ähnlichkeit mit den Abbildungen auf der Webseite. Als wir ziemlich spät ankamen brannte Licht und entsprechend war es voller Insekten. An sich etwas, dass man im Regenwald erwartet. Aber nachdem am nächsten Tag gereinigt wurde und wir etwas darauf geachtet haben die Tür geschlossen zu halten, ging es deutlich besser. Die Zimmer sind in einem ‚Reihenhaus‘ und extrem hellhörig. Wer unruhig schläft sollte Oropax mitnehmen, die Frösche (nachts) und Zikaden (Tags) sind sehr laut, aber das gilt für das gesamte Gebiet. Die Anfahrt ist der Horror! Ohne Allrad nicht zu empfehlen!!! Das Abendessen wird hier angepriesen, wir waren nicht begeistert. Das Personal war freundlich-kühl.

The favorite part of our mornings were sitting outside our cabin and watching the birds. There were so many different species that would fly in and perch in the trees rights in front of our patio! We enjoyed the trails. They were well groomed.They were easy hikes but not well marked in some places. It was a great place to relax in nature. I hope the facility continues to build on the visitor education more. Focusing on the philosophy of the eco lodge and client education on the importance of eco reserves as well as more information on the local flora and fauna.

- Jan (10/5): À ceux qui aiment la nature et soutiennent l’ecologie, allez-y. - Endroit centré sur l’écologie et la durabilité, situé au milieu de la nature paradisiaque. Échappant à la ville, on peut visiter les parcs dans les environs. Excellent petit déjeuner. Fait partie de nos meilleurs moments à Costa Rica. Rien à dire, sauf que l’accès par le chemin de 3 km n’est pas facile.

- Janice (6/5): Overall, my stay at La Tigra Rainforest Lodge was a pleasant experience, mainly because of the beautiful natural surroun - The breakfast was excellent—very delicious and a great way to start the day. I also really enjoyed the setting of the lodge. It genuinely feels like you’re surrounded by the rainforest, which makes the experience feel special and relaxing. The organization during check-in could have been better. When we arrived late, our room wasn’t ready, and we were placed in a temporary room for the first night. This meant we had to move rooms again the following day, which was inconvenient. In the second room, there was also black charcoal-like residue falling onto the bed sheets, leaving black marks. Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi available (it didn’t appear at all), and there was no hot water running, which was a significant inconvenience during our stay.

- Anastassia (7/5): - The location is superb. The on-site restaurant had delicious food. I wasn't prepared for the lack of hot water. I wanted to take a shower, but the water never got warm. Thankfully, we only stayed one night, so I could skip the shower. If we had stayed longer, it would have been an issue for us. The road to the resort is rough, but the location and closeness to nature made it worthwhile.

- Bram (7/5): Jungle immersion close to La Fortuna - Nice retreat-feeling place. We loved our little cabin and the calm. Waking up and seeing tucans flying around your lodge is an unreal feeling. Also really nice massage options. Staff is friendly but it doesn’t go further than that. There is not much to do and all activities hosted by the property are priced quite steep. The dinner/ bar area closes at 9pm which is insanely early as there is nothing around.

- Fernando Frugoli (7/5): Nice stay in the middle of the jungle - El desayuno es bueno y la ubicacion en medio de la selva es muy linda. Las camas son muy comodas. La vista desde las cabañas es muy bonita Las habitaciones son espaciosas, pero tendrían que mejorar la iluminacion (tienen un foco desnudo contra el techo) y poner lamparas en las mesas de luz. El agua caliente es un problema. Los calefones electricos funcionan muy mal. Por el precio que cobran, tienen que poder ofrecer una ducha caliente. En la piscina tienen que mejorar el equipamiento. No hay ninguna reposera y solo tienen unas pocas sillas incómodas para estar mas de unos minutos. Cuando llueve el parking se llena de charcos y barro.
- Jérôme (8/5): Très belle expérience pour dormir au contact de la nature si on n'est pas trop exigent sur la qualité du resto et de - L'environnement dans un parc forestier, dormir dans une cabane semi ouverte au plus prêt de la nature. Assez éloigné de la Fortuna. Il faut 1h pour rejoindre le parque arenal en voiture. Du fait de son isolement, dîner au lodge est quasi obligatoire et le menu n'est pas terrible.
- Kirsten (9/5): Beautiful rainforest setting with amazing breakfast buffet! - Beautiful setting in the rainforest with an adventurous drive to get there, rustic accommodations but lovely and idyllic, amazing breakfast every morning! Breakfast included a buffet and several made to order options (e.g. omelettes). Mattresses were not the most comfortable and hot water for the showers was limited, wifi is only accessible in the dining room so take the opportunity to be disconnected, but if connectivity is important to you, know that you will only have wifi in the dining room and potentially very limited cell service depending on your carrier. Also be aware that you are in the rainforest/jungle, and critters and insects are to be expected. We had both in our bungalow.
- Pankaj (7/5): Good place with a horrible commute! - Good breakfast with a lot of options. Good rooms. The commute to the hotel, the last 3 kms are dreadful with no paved roads and almost no street lights. The washrooms could be designed better, the one we stayed in would overflow into the room. The doors to your room lock automatically on closing, so always carry your room keys with you, we locked ourselves out once and had to deal with it late at night.
