Guest Reviews
- Lisa (8/5): Great staff and accommodations - The Inn was simply lovely. Staff was extremely accommodating. The room was large. Nothing
- Daniel (8/5): Pleasant accommodation in an excellent location. - The location is ideal for exploring Berkeley Springs and the hotel is very comfortable and clean. The food is good, especially the breakfast offered in the dining room on weekdays. I have no particular complaints about the hotel. The weekend I was there, the hotel was very busy and the staff seemed harried and tired. I have certainly stayed in hotels where the staff was friendlier, but I wouldn’t want to judge the hotel on the basis of this one visit.
- DANIEL (10/5): Comfortable - Quaint Nothing
- Brenda (10/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): I stayed two nights and really enjoyed my stay! - Wonderful place to stay! Clean and comfortable! The spa was wonderful and accommodating, and the location was even better! I was able to visit all the local shops on foot! The restaurant was great as well! I really enjoyed the meatloaf Wellington! It was a relaxing stay! I will be back! Thank you! ❤️ No complaints!
- Emilio (4/5): Disappointing - Good location though much closer to the road than expected from the photos Very dated, needs a serious facelift. Noisy air conditioning on flat roof outside the room made sleeping before midnight very hard. Staff could be more welcoming
- Cynthia (10/5): It started with kind staff, a Happy Anniversary card in our room and a bottle of champagne in our fridge and ended with - We were there celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and from the moment we arrived we felt special! The staff were all welcoming, informative and friendly! Our room was immaculate, cozy and comfortable and our experience at the Renaissance Spa was incredible! The property was quaint and well kept and the inside was luxurious! We will definitely be returning in the near future! Nothing
- Bobbie (10/5): Good - Nice location Wanted to be in the Inn. Was in west wing
- Edward (9/5): Enjoyable stay in a grand old building. - Nice vintage rooms and excellent public areas. Did not accept Discover credit card
- Robert (10/5): -
- Christian (6/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): Great Place to Stay in Berkeley Springs! - We love this property! This was our second stay in the past nine months. The rooms are big and comfortable. Price is very reasonable. The restaurant is excellent! The food is outstanding! Location is excellent! We will be back. No complaints.
- John (7/5): -
- Heidel (9/5): Delightful location where you feel like family! - The staff at The Country Inn made us feel like family from the very start of our weekend! We loved the main inn - the furnishings were lovely, cozy, and made each of us feel right at home! Could not say enough good things! The only small improvement could be the flower beds but it was early in the year and still chilly so I understand that they just may not have gotten around it it yet. Plus, I am a garden lover so I just wanted to dig in and help! :-)
- John (8/5): Clean, convenient place to stay - Great location, clean room. Mattress in 432 sags in the middle.
- Hollie (10/5): - The hotel was extremely nice and the staff was excellent. The bar and restaurant were amazing. I didn't get to enjoy the spa on this trip, but plan on returning for a spa day!
- James & Kathryn (8/5): It was a pleasant get away. The room was just OK. No comfortable chairs to sit on. - Breakfast both mornings was good. Plentiful and reasonable. The waitresses were friendly patient and efficient. Very good The toiletries were minimal, Chairs uncomfortable the room could have been better furnished and the sheets and bedding were wrinkled and loose, dust ruffle hanging on floor. We put a sign outside the door for service the first morning but no one came.
Made our own bed . It was our 50th Anniversary, we went to the spa to book a service and we're told everything was pretty booked over the last few weeks. We decided on the Roman Bathe to be enough which is why we chose Berkely Springs for their mineral water springs for rejuvenation.
- Melissa (10/5): - It was just really nice The fact that we could only stay for one night
- Donald (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Paul (7/5): We enjoyed our stay in the historic hotel. - Desk staff person was excellent.
Food and dining service were very good.
Location was excellent.
We had massages and they were excellent.
The hotel was clean The toilet was too small and the water flap did not always close.
The sink was too high and awkward.
- Nancy (10/5): Very relaxing - Room was clean and comfortable. The king bed was great! All was good.
- Joyce (8/5): The location and charm of the Inn were exceptional. Would stay there again and recommend it. - Room location, front desk staff, breakfast, breakfast staff would like to have had a taller toilet. My husband and I both have knee replacements and the lower toilets are a real struggle.
- Maureen (10/5): April 2026 - We stayed in the back building. I loved that we could walk to the spring. The courtyard is adorable with faerie lights and the fireplace room was great to hang out in. The place was very clean. The food at the restaurant was good and the staff, although short staffed, were friendly and nice. I would highly recommend a stay here. We were hoping for a four poster bed.
- Brandt (10/5): - Within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Loved the historic aspect. Elevator lagged opening on 3rd floor in West building.
- Rosemarie (10/5): - Charm
- Devin (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Nice and cozy with lots of kind workers! - We loved how close it was to the little state park and how they had the spa available for those over 18.

- Kathleen Burtner (10/5): Our special spot - Spacious, clean comfortable beds. Check inn excellant. Loved everything.
- Timothy (8/5): Had a great weekend i enjoyed learning some of the history of hotel and town - Location is perfect can walk to park shops bars and restaurants
- Sean (4/5): Disappointed - The facade…lobby…that’s it. Reception was not welcoming. We actually stayed in a building of rooms behind the main building that had no character and basic. We went to Berkeley Springs , first time, for the spa. We travelled 4 hours and had called multiple times before coming. The reception kept saying the spa had nothing to do with them but they are right next door and must see many people arriving that experienced the same as us, the spa was full. I called the spa many times and no answer. When there, they said they get 100s of. calls a week for reservations and they don’t answer. When I called reception before coming, I specifically asked if I needed a reservation and nobody said it was needed. They said preferred but they know there is no possibility without one. They let people come knowing they won’t get a reservation and stay anyway. I only visited Berkeley Springs for the bath house so we feel duped. Unlikely to return..!
- Ronald (8/5): Very good what we expected - Dinner and Breakfast were excellent Not your fault but it was cold outside so we couldn’t walk around or appreciate the grounds or town
- Ronald (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Nice price for the room. The dining room was excellent. Food was great and priced right. - Comfy bed, the room was set up nicely. Everything worked and the heat was set just right. Pillows were also just right.
- Vito (9/5): - The bar and restaurant!
- Jean (8/5): -
- Lynne (7/5): We’ve stayed before. Love the restaurant in the bar. Comfortable and nice. Beautiful old hotel. - Room was big, clean, pretty nice. Very cold. Had to walk to main building for hot water/coffee. Coffee machine in the room dripped all over.tv had no guide and channels were not interesting.
- Erin (10/5): Relaxing and cozy - Restaurant was fantastic and bar area was cozy for relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. I was impressed with everything we ate from appetizers and the main course all the way to breakfast the following morning. Loved the proximity to the bath house which is why we will definitely be back again soon. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
- Christy (10/5): -
- Beth (8/5): -
- amy (9/5): Pleasant stay in historic inn in a beautiful small town - I did not anticipate being put in a back building and not the main hotel. However, our room was extremely spacious and was nice.
Even if it’s cold, take the very short walk to the tiny state park next-door. There’s access to the spring waters there and even a stone tub which George Washington used. There is a filtered water bottle filler in a small pavilion. The button to push is behind some posts sticking out of the ground. Of the restaurant choices, we were put in an overly lit unattractive room. The more attractive restaurant was not open for some reason.
We normally stay somewhere where breakfast is included. This town just had very few options. We did not get to see the gym but normally I am a gym user.
- Clarence (9/5): -
- Marjorie (7/5): Was a little disappointed on the rooms - It was ok the carpet in the rooms needed to be replaced
- Brooke (10/5): - Easy walking distance from the entire town!
- Ty (8/5): -
- Nathan (9/5): - Decor Slightly musty smell
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- David (9/5): We really liked our stay - the hotel the restaurant and the staff. Was a nice place for a night - the country inn has an older and a newer section. but has great charm ,many old paintings everywhere. our room and bathroom were very clean, and the king bed was comfortable. the staff at the front desk were great, very helpful. the restaurant on site had great food and reasonable prices with a good waiter. It was not overcrowded mid week. Right next to Berkely Springs state park. there are also local shops nearby .We both enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in the old section. staying in the older section, not a problem for us but there is no elevator ,which may be a problem for some. Being old, sometimes the door to our room would stick minimally .
- Dennis & Cindy (3/5): Disappointing, probably won't return. - Room- Needed repairs on various things, door leading to the small deck, lighting in bathroom terrible, in general the room was run-down and badly needs a refreshing.
NO ELEVATOR- 4 steep levels of stairs to climb, for seniors that is to much, our luggage was carried up thank God.
Dinning- Had to eat in the bar area due to broken A/C in the dinning room area. Which wasn't to bad under normal circumstances but we were celebrating our 45th anniversary and really wanted to make our evening special, bar area didn't do that. We were giving a $25 discount at checkout which was commendable but really didn't do much for the special evening we were hoping/planning on. Food was good, had to send back a bottle of wine because it was terrible.
Hey we get it, the place is a historic site representing many-many years of existence. That's great and you'd expect things to show aging but a Honeymoon suite..... you'd expect it to be way more up-to-date in design and have a cleaner-newer appearance. This is a Honeymoon suite with expectation of being special and upgraded, not just ordinary room to sleep, Th shinning star here is it's staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, courteous, and very professional. Nothing negative to say about the staff expect they were all great and earn Big 5 Stars. Owner you need to keep all these fine people they're the bright star to your establishment and I hope you reward them for all they do for you.
- LORI (8/5): - This is the most clean facility I have stayed in. Kudos to housekeeping. No dust, no musty smell, no dirty corners, simply wonderful and would stay again. I thought there was a pool, but there is a public pool next door. Staff exceptionally friendly, helpful. Highly recommend! Elevator was not working and I was on 3rd floor, don't recall non-working elevator notification on booking website.
- Linda (9/5): -
- Paige (9/5): charming in country style - breakfast in the country inn restaurant was lovely and boutiful. one plate more than plenty to share between 2 active adults however they propose a 2$ charge for an extra plate to share ;)
- Lee (10/5): -
- Hayley (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Place is super.. I would recommend it to friends - Breakfast was good.. service very good
Room was great Dog next door.. cried for hours.. they returned around 1qpm n slammed their door 4 x...
A bit unsettling
- Diane (8/5): -
- Geraldine (10/5): -
- M (7/5): - Friendly, helpful front desk staff.
Great location in town. Room was minimal in comfort & in looks. It has a darker, older look to it.
- Ellen (8/5): A comfortable place with a friendly staff near and a a great location. - The location and the friendly staff. The grounds are pretty. The weight room didn't have any weights, and the machines were old. The floors in the rooms were not clean.
- Patricia (8/5): We had a very nice getaway in Berkeley Springs. - Breakfast was great. We stayed in the old part of the hotel which was spacious and clean with a good bed and nice linens. I was a little disappointed in the town. There was not a lot to do.
- Deborah (8/5): A very enjoyable stay. - The Bed was comfy. Room was clean. Food at the Morgan tavern was very good. The waiter did an exceptional job of attending to us Brodie. I think I might upgrade to a room with a better view.
- Janine (8/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. - Beautiful location. Rooms were very clean. The elevator was out but they did call ahead and let us know that. We were disappointed that we couldn’t order from the room service menu when the breakfast buffet was going on.

Paige is a great representative of the Country Inn. When we return we will ask for her to be our server. The hotel carpets needed cleaning. The orange juice served at breakfast was spoiled. Yuck! The server for late Saturday night was nervous and hurried. He seemed to have other issues on his mind???????
- Ashley (10/5): -

My wife has back problems so it is always hard to find a good bed for her. We do not own an electric vehicle but I did notice one car in the same spot over an 18 hour period? Interesting!
