Guest Reviews
- Jeffery (6/5): - Adequate but nothing to write home about.
- JOHN (10/5): Good economical place to stay - We like having the microwave, fridge, and stovetop in the room. It's economical and clean, and the staff is friendly.
- Eric (8/5): - Very friendly staff and room was clean. a barking dog late at night
- Sallie (2/5): - We arrived, no one in office, tried calling phone not working. The location was hard to
- Joseph (8/5): - The hotel was easy to find but difficult to figure out how to get to it, no real signage or direction. Its in the same parking lot as the econolodge and oddly the check-in and the desk are shared and in the econolodge as well, the room was neat and clean but there are some full time residents so there was some tenant drama, they are pet friendly but have no real place to walk your pet. There is also a restaurant and service station and convenience store basically in the same lot as both hotels so the parking lot is always busy and loud, it is close to residents, pubs and shopping.
- Michael (2/5): - Shady looking
- Taylor (8/5): Solid 4/5 - A solid 4/5. It could have been cleaned a little better. There were some very noticeable cobwebs, but they didn't really effect our stay. All of the towels were staged very nicely. Key cards didn't work at first, but it was a super quick fix. The kitchen amenities in our room were fantastic and convenient to have. The Front lobby employees were wonderful, super helpful and professional. Coffee/donut breakfast bar was about what you could except. Coffee, oatmeal, donut options. Maybe some juice options would have been nice, but not bad. Some of their long-term tenants were a little absurd, but they seemed mostly harmless. Overall, it was a decent experience. Thank you!
- William (10/5): - Very happy with my room, super friendly staff.
- Thomas F (4/5): - Problem with no TV
- James (10/5): - Amazing staff. Will help you in anyway possible and completely understanding.
- Stacey (4/5): Find another place if at all possible - First, you have to go to the hotel next door to register. Then you come back to bags and bags of trash scattered all about the property. Ice buckets full of cigarette butts made the place smell like an ashtray. The security latch on our door was missing.
- Kathryn (6/5): - It is confusing that the property has two names, two prices, two wifis. The enivorment feels unsafe with the clientel encountered when checking in.
- ROBERT (10/5): - Great room for the price. Large space lots of storage and work space. Kitchenette and mid-size fridge was a bonus! Great location.
- Marcie (6/5): - Close to groceries
- Marie D (8/5): - This Lodge is primarily for extended stay people. It is not really meant for overnight guests. The room was nice and clean. There is no staff in the Lodge. Felt scary. The Lodge uses the shared Econolodge parking lot. Had to use Econolodge lobby for check-in and the minimal included breakfast. While only a short walk, you're always walking outside. Won't be back.
- william (10/5): Friendly, Neat, and Clean. - Neat and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Joe (Maintenance) came to my room to fix the TV and got it working in no time. Very friendly. Will definitely stay here again next trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Older but clean - It is close to many different types of restaurants and close to the airport. But, it is an older building with older rooms. Clean but older. It is very confusing as to were you check in.
- Muzi (8/5): - Very convenient to shopping and restaurants. Lots of counter space and the kitchenette is good enough to make a simple meal
- Dirt (10/5): - Very clean! Comfortable beds and tv had many channels
- Westin (8/5): - Exterior looks rough, rooms were extremely nice though
- Hilary (4/5): - When we arrived at this hotel we almost turned around and left. The exterior is unwelcoming and the hotel, like the adjoining Econolodge (where we had to go to check in), appears to be housing homeless people. The parking area even had a sign saying park at your own risk. Luckily the interior of our room (which had two queen beds even though we booked a single king) appeared to be fairly clean, and we were too tired to travel any further. The ice machine was out of order so my husband had to walk across the large parking lot to get ice from the Econolodge, which is also where the continental breakfast is apparently served (we opted not to eat there). Rating this hotel is tricky. The room itself was fine once inside, but everything else about the place is downright sketchy…
- Douglas (8/5): - The building is older but is clean inside. Close to plenty of places to eat. Close to the interstate road. The only problem is the lobby (to check in or out ) is located in another building (which has a different motel name). Very confusing.
- Donatella (4/5): - It's a MOTEL. Nothing fancy. Very basic and the breakfast is a joke! Not edible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay away - Stay away! I gave this a chance because overall rating was very good but pay attention to the negative reviews. There is one building that has been renovated where rooms are available and the other buildings are used as homeless shelter. We walked into our room in the renovated building. It looked decent but there was an overwhelming smell like rotting garbage or sewage. Walked right back to front desk to check out. Told we would get a refund. Waiting to see if refund shows up on credit card.
- PRESTON (8/5): - The property shares a parking lot with a Econo lodge motel next door, and check in for liberty lodge is at the Econo lodge front desk. But the rooms inside liberty lodge are nice. Ours had plenty of room, a long writing desk, a large fridge, and a large TV. There was also a shared patio area out back that I did not have time to check out.
- Ralph (8/5): - It was good value for the price. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and they had stovetop, refrigerator and microwave. It served its purpose as we just needed a place to rest for a night. Wouldn't have a problem staying there again
- John (2/5): - BUGS! I entered my room and it was smokey smelling even though I purchased non-smoking. But I thought I'd just open the window a bit and get some fresh air. When I opened the window a bug flew from underneath the sill (not from outside). I though it might be a bed bug, so I inquired. The maintenance guy came and said it was a stink bug and that I shouldn't squash it or it will really stink. Well, I know about stink bugs, and they look a bit different where I come from, but Ok. He said they get in when they come to clean the place. Well, Ok, but I don't want to live there for a week with stink bugs indoors. He offered to come spray insecticide while I was gone the next day, but I don't want that either. I don't want to live in insecticide. And if they are all set up for spraying for bugs, what does that tell you. I called Expedia and asked for a refund letting them know I couldn't stay there. They said it was non-refundable. Now, I understand non-refundable if I am the reason (like I'm late, or want to cancel for plan changes, etc.), but not when THEY are the reason for the problem. I expected a refund so I could book somewhere else, likely at a higher price/last minute. I was told by Expedia they had contacted the management and that they needed to call back the next day to speak with someone. Well, the week is over, I stayed elsewhere, and I have heard nothing from either Expedia or Liberty Lodge. Crappy customer service and crappy place to stay.
- Mindy (6/5): - cigarettes smell outside seeped in
- Jack (10/5): - Great room amenities
- Jack (10/5): - Great deal
- Jack (10/5): - Well equipped rooms.
- Heather (10/5): - Chris was a great guy. Looking forward to maybe doing it again.
- John (2/5): - WE HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING THE PROPERTY BECAUSE THE SIGN WAS NOT WORKING. THERE WAS NO OFFICE FOR CHECKIN JUST A PHONE AND THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED INSTRUCTED US TO CHECK IN AT THE ECONO LODGE NEXT SQ DOOR THAT WAS SO RUNDOWN WE DECIDED TO FORFEIT OUR NON REFUNDABLE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AND STAY AT A NEARBY COMFORT INN.. THE LIBERTY LODGE APPEARS TO BE PERMAMENT HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME HOUSING. THE EXPEDIA INFORMATION AND REVIEWS WAS TOTAL FICTION.
John Witherspoon
- Deborah (6/5): - The property is owned by the econolodge next door. You have to there to check in. The was clean and neat. No complaints. Kinda noisy at night. Was hard to find as its off main road behind a gas station. NO BREAKFAST. All they had was coffee and a few prepackaged muffins.
- karen (2/5): - Horrible place, very noisy, most rooms were lived-in.. food crumbs all over the floor and counter, people riding a mini bike around the parking lot all night. Kids playing in the parking lot drew on my car with markers. People partying all night in the parking lot were very loud and drunk. Don't stay here
- Steven (4/5): - Falsely advertised as having breakfast not available, basically a truck stop. Will never stay there again.
- George (8/5): - Was good. Was surprised. Clearly people lived here. No problems.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nasty Pkace - Was not in a very good place, Storage area behind hotel, lots of broken down cars..Smiking and rhe smell of cigaretees everywhere,.What was supposed to be ice cube holders were being used as ash trays with sand outside a lot of rooms. There were lots of LONG TERM RESIDENTS hanging around outside of their rooms drinking and smoking plus a few dogs on leashes attached ti doir handkes.
- Alix (6/5): - Affordable and a quick drive to the Lamade Stadium, some great restaurants in downtown Williamsport, only a 9 minute drive away. Hotel itself though wasn't that clean, found a lot of bugs, dingy carpet, but they do sanitize and upkeep it, it's just dated/old.
- Cheryl (10/5): Great Stay! - The Liberty Lodge is a great place to stay in Williamsport. The location is convenient (although, it's a little tricky figuring out how to access it. You'll need to drive through the gas station, along a strip that is parallel to the main road). The rooms are a nice size, with everything you could need for meal prep, and a huge fridge for leftovers.
The employees are helpful, and there is free breakfast and a small fitness room at the Econo Lodge across the parking lot. (The two hotels are affiliated, and we had to check in at the Econo Lodge front desk).
My only complaint is the weird smell that came from the air conditioner. It might have been mold, but when we turned the air conditioner off, and the ceiling fan on, the smell went away, and the room was a comfortable temperature.
I'd stay here again!
- Daniel (8/5): - Family really enjoyed the food that was available nearby. Only concern was the safety as posted around the property. No issues experienced and it made us to be more aware of the area, especially in the evening.
Nice visit and we enjoyed our trip to Hoopla's as part of this trip. Will come back again.
- Margaret (4/5): - Upset that I walked into my room and it wasn’t cleaned they ended up changing my room to a king size bed with a pullout sofa bed that looked really dirty my children were not going to sleep on it so the 3 of us ended up sleeping on the bed together.
- ERIKA (4/5): - It’s only $85 a night so shouldn’t expect much I guess. Room was large & clean & had everything you need. But….smelled musty & like smoke. Needed airing out desperately. Check in lady didn’t even look at me, just said check out is noon don’t put your key near your phone or it won’t work, then turned away from me.
The worst part was the area. The hotel is connected to another building that looks the same but seems to be low income housing or extended stay for people down on their luck. Kids running around everywhere, parents screaming & swearing at them. Kids were playing on the elevator & knocking on our door at night & running away. It felt very unsafe & just weird.
- Brittany (8/5): - Ok place. No issues.
- Cathy (10/5): - Like the location and ease of access
- William (10/5): - This place was close to everything we needed to do in the area. It was clean and reasonably priced.
- AMY (10/5): - Love this place very friendly staff and clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not everything is as it appears - Things arent as wonderful as they appear
- Kimberly (6/5): - Bathroom very clean
- Chesney (6/5): - The room was clean and roomy
- Candace (10/5): - This is a great property with great rates.
- david (6/5): - Very dated & dirty. We've stayed here in the past & it was better (Pre COVID).
- Eric (10/5): - The access from the road was a bit confusing. Once we got there was a nice quiet stay.
- Gerald (6/5): - Will not be staying there again.
Rooms are old, smelly and dont even try their so called "free" breakfast.
- Tyler (10/5): - Great staff! Convenient! Always clean facilities!
- William (10/5): - Clean and roomy. Everything we needed was available.
- Garrett (8/5): - Breakfast buffet is no longer served, it is still listed as an amenity in the ads.
- Amy (4/5): - The room was good and the front desk gentleman was lovely but the other patrons were loud and sketchy. One drunk guy aggressively followed me as I walked my dogs through the parking lot and splashed beer at our feet. It was very creepy. Two guys hanging out in a pickup truck yelled uninvited “comments” at me. The place was loud for much of the night. It sounded like people were letting their kids pinball off the walls and slam doors. I was thankful that the event I was attending ended early enough I didn’t have to stay a second night. If I didn’t have my giant dogs with me I would not have felt safe staying there after my interaction with that creep.
- Joseph (2/5): - The conditions of location were unsafe and unclean. It is a homeless shelter in part. The surrounding hotels were also undervthe same condition. Deplorable. I cant believe expedia lists this place
- Jessica (6/5): - The sink counters and walls were not clean. There was dried on food on the counters. The walls had runs of some kind of chemical, or something down them the toilet and flush properly. The microwave and refrigerator were filthy.
- Xiao mei (10/5): Excellent stay - Wonderful room, excellent staff and great location.
- Heather (10/5): Diamond in the rough - I was so unsure about this reservation- but... I am glad I took the gamble. The service was fast and friendly. The room was so roomy amd spotless. The beds were comfy.
We got an early check in and I called on arrival and they literally had everything hadled and ready to go when I walked into the office. The room was quiet at night. They offered a small breakfast, but we did not partake.
A diamond in the rough.
- Sara (10/5): - Great to have fridge, stovetop, dishwasher etc and be pet friendly. Would recommend this for families wanting to be able to prepare meals.
- Blake (2/5): This place is terrible. Avoid at all costs. - This was a welfare motel plain and simple. Long term stay type of place. The carpet was soaked in our room for no reason and the room was filled with flying bugs. The drapes were not attached on one side and the sheets had not been changed. Management could not have cared less.
- Pamela (4/5): GHETTO - This motel smelled like straight up mildew. There were people living in the hotel and the garbage smelled to high heaven.
- Heather (8/5): - This property seems to share facilities with the EcoLodge across the parking lot, which would be nice to have been told in advance. However the actual unit was very comfortable and very clean. Designed as a longstay space, it had everything I needed, and more.
I would stay there again.
- William (8/5): - A great place to stay if you want to cook. Very large, clean and comfortable. The free breakfast wasn’t anywhere to be found.
Personally I’d rather stay at the Generti.
- CHRISTOPHER (6/5): You get what you pay for - Check in was at neighboring Econo Lodge who owned it, which would have been cheaper. Door to room was busted and badly repaired. There was 1/2 inch of dust on floor boards, carpet was dull, room smelled old and was outdated. Beds were hard.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A little difficult to find frm the road and didn't look like a hotel from the road due to
- Linda (10/5): - The room was nice a nice size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again. Would definitely recommend.
- Howard (6/5): - Was not clear that Liberty Lodge was part of Econo Lodge next door. Liberty Lodge office was closed. Receptionist at Econo Lodge answered I dont know to most of my questions . Room did not Have adequate bed linens and I was told I would NOT be provided with them, until I got a little ugly. Reservation and check in were not done correctly creating hassle..Room was quite good though, Staff need better training.
- Gloria (10/5): - everyone friendly. had kitchen.
- Linda (8/5): - Nice for family weekend stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Each room included a kitchenette, a full couch, and the room was large, clean and quiet. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid this one - Liberty Lodge is really part of the EconoLodge next door. The receptionist yelled across the parking lot to get our attention, even though the phone says to dial the receptionist. The non-smoking room reeked of smoke and the grab and go breakfast was underwhelming.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable and spacious room for four adult travelers with a complete kitchen available in room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Couldn't even check in!! - Did not even check in, had to find another place to stay. Nothing was like the pictures and didn't feel safe. There were drunk guys fighting on the balcony when I pulled in to the parking lot. Took pictures of what I could the following day while it was light out. They falsely advertised what the place looks like and the comfort. I never would have chosen this location if the pictures showed what you were truly staying at.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff & clean rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The front desk staff was extremely friendly
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This use to be a ok cheaper hotel. Now it’s very shady. Lots of drug use. Crack pipes laying on steps. Unpleasant staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was big! Including a kitchenette, and King size bed. I was very happy with the accommodation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Location and Good Value - The location is excellent and the staff are personable and friendly. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Whenever I'm in the area, this is my first choice to stay !
- Michele (10/5): - The location is excellent! Literally in walking distance of a Sheetz, grocery store and many restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful! And their suites have everything you need and more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Traveling during covid it was great to have an exterior door and kitchen to stay safe preparing dinner after a day visiting state parks.
- James (10/5): - Hard to find behind another motel. Very clean on the main drag plenty of dining options give it a 9 0f 10
- Cheston (8/5): Great hotel with nice kitchen, close to restaurant - The hotel was modern and clean. It was nice that you had your own hot water heater, so you never had to worry about not having hot water. The fridge, cooking area and kitchen were terrific. It is in a great location, literally minutes from a number of restaurants and is walking distance to Sheetz. There were just two things which I didn't like: there are no sink stoppers (for washing face or shaving) and you cant turn the fan on to create whiten noise. I prefer using a fan to block out sound but even if you turn the fan 'on' it doesn't come on.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the most satisfactory hotel I stayed. The hotel is in good location, near major highway. The room has very good facility. It even has an open kitchen in the room where you can cook. The room is very clean. The price is very good.
- David (10/5): AMAZING!!# - Quite amazing!!! Rooms are awsone and have literally everything. Right up to a stove top, microwave, full size fridge, totally comfortable, even ceiling fans. Lots of counter space, lots of even cabinets. And storage cubicals, would you believe. Like thats not enough, even a leather recliner chair, with an ottoman.!!
Considering the daily rate for this place. I dont really know why someone who travels often, on the job, like myself, or anyone else, would book anywhere else. Beats the Red Roof Inn by miles. Motel 6, no comparison, its just the best. And to boot, the two i mentioned. Are even more ecpensive. It makes no sense from a value stand point, to book anywhere else.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good area. Places to eat nearby. Room was clean and had a nice kitchenette
- Jeremy (2/5): - Due to COVID, the Little League World Series was canceled, we tried for months to get a hold of Liberty Lodge and sent numerous emails requesting to cancel or postpone (to next year) our stay. All calls and emails went ignored. We did not stay at Liberty Lodge and never will after this poor service.
- Patti (8/5): - What was unique about the property was the check in. Rather than checking in at the building you needed to pick up a phone and go to another building.
- Vicki (10/5): Comfort - Very comfortable and relaxing
- Linnea C (8/5): Would stay again; Home for a Funeral - I had to go back home for a family funeral and needed to make last minute reservations. The space in this room was wonderful, it had a kitchenette, living room type sitting area and a nice king size bed. I would definitely stay at this lodge again. It had what looked like a very nice outside patio area with grill and fireplace. We just did not have time to enjoy all this lodge had to offer. Location was good for on/off the highway and plenty of restaurants around, a food store, Giant, was across the street and Sheets was right in front of the establishment. Only thing I was not sure of was where to check in but it was at the Econo Lodge, I did not realize when I booked Liberty was part of Econo.
- Christine (10/5): - Spacious rooms
- Jose (2/5): Very disappointed - I booked this hoyel with my family wife and my 3 kids and the hotel is not serving breakfast why couldn't they post that on the website like that i could had seen it before i booked the room im very disappointed.
- James (10/5): - Ok place for the money quite even with being busy with a lot of people there
- Richard (10/5): - Our stay was, as usual very good. The people are friendly and service is excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very kind and helpful. I’m a travel nurse and I’m thankful for all of their hospitality. All of the staff were kind and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They were some of the nicest people I am a traveling nurse and this was my home away from home! I was treated so well even when I locked my hotel keys twice. Tina the manager was the best! I had mail overnighted and she called as soon as it arrived! I never once felt unsafe here or that the place was unclean.
- Mabel (10/5): - Everything was great. Staff was very friendly
