Guest Reviews
- Doreen (7/5): - Friendly Bit dated
- Adria (7/5): Good value for money, friendly atmosphere - The breakfast The room had some cobwebs and dust. The bedsheets and towels were absolutely clean though.

- Cath (10/5): Meeting of the memories! - Magnificent hearty country style food, served with pride. Some exceptional value meals. The staff, and owners were generous, and kind, and obviously quite proud of their location. They also provided us with helpful hints about our journey. My only suggestion is that they need to get some newer pillows and more 'toppers' for the mattresses.
- Isobel (10/5): Highly recommend - Excellent value for money, staff friendly and the food was lovely and at a very reasonable price.
Room comfortable and cosy with a nice bath.
- Hazel (10/5): - A friendly welcome, good food clean bed to sleep in 👌
- Helen (10/5): - Staff were really friendly.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Annette (8/5): Basic and did the job. - Location. The room had a very good air flow due to the windows on both sides of the room. The room wasn’t clean when we arrived. There were other peoples rubbish on the floor by the bed when we arrived.
The mattress wasn’t the comfiest.

We had an evening meal which was good and breakfast which was incredibly good
- Adele (7/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): - Lovely staff, spoilt our dog and made us feel really welcome. Great value for money. Very large and spacious room. Only a small issue, we we're upstairs and I slipped on the metal stairs. Unfortunately more of a weather issue than anything as it was raining. Would prefer a downstairs room in the rain, but can't fault the place. Really enjoyed ourselves, we've been before and will definitely go again
- Irena (3/5): - Staff were friendly and welcoming The room, tatty old furniture
Room in need of TLC
- Katrina (9/5): Had a great stay, good value for money, Food excellent! - Our stay was great, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and warm. The room smelt very clean when we arrived. Parking was free. The rooms and bar are little tired but that reflects on the price, so good value for money.

- Wojciech (7/5): - Staff was nice and polite, location verry nice, Not clean, stains on bedding, water dripping from ceiling, room above the pub so noisy till late
- Peter (10/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): - Very accommodating, we were to arrive very late but they were accommodating to allow us to arrive that late
- Martin (8/5): - Location was great and staff were great and it was what you expected would definitely stay there again
- Sabine (9/5): - Every single person of the staff was extremely friendly and did everything to make it a great stay. Traditional, delicious breakfast, traditional pub, beautiful old building and a confortable bed in a quiet envirionment. The flush of the toilet was not really reliable. It seemed as when somebody else uses water in one of the other rooms, there was just a lack of pressure. But this is only a minor point - it is the way it used to be in old buildings and just the luxurious way of thinking nowaways ;)

- Robert (10/5): Clean rooms, friendly welcoming and knowledgeable staff, excellent home cooked food, pet friendly, what more do you need - I was travelling with a dog and made to feel very welcome, really loved that each room is self contained and opens onto the courtyard, no endless corridors that all look the same, I had the cooked breakfast which was so nice I decided to have an evening meal and wasn’t disappointed, I ordered a steak and it was cooked exactly how I wanted and was the tastiest in a long time, my daughter is in university in Dundee and this will now be the only place I will stay when coming down The decor in the rooms are looking a bit dated, but then again it is an old coaching inn
- Christopher (9/5): Wonderful host and staff who care about their visitors stay - Breakfast was served by the owner and chef and was great value. It was cooked to order and piping hot.
Evening meals were just as good. Good sized servings and value for money.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about the area and provided suggestions of places to visit.
We also requested a room on the lower floor, due to difficulties with steps and they were happy to assist with this request. Nil issues during our stay.
- Cara (10/5): - Staff were all so friendly, were able to check in early. The room and facilities exceeded our expectations
- Kayleigh (10/5): -
- Tino (7/5): -
- Alan (10/5): -
- C Bruce (10/5): - The warm welcome and lovely staff Nothing to complain about
- Bill (10/5): Coaching Inn - Location is close enough to the city for easy access if you want. Close to the A90 (Kingsway), for easy travel to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and everywhere else to be honest. Staff very friendly, rooms and the Inn were excellent and spotless. If you have the full Scottish breakfast, don't expect to be hungry for a long time. Having to get up to go home again 😂
- Joanne (9/5): -
- Keith (6/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful particularly Sam the barman and the chef. Meals were good. Room was on the basic side, but Ok for a nights stay.
- Marriott (9/5): Excellent location and price - A convenient location for filming work I was doing nearby. Staff were great, leaving the door unlocked for me as I didn’t finish work until 0200. Quiet, clean ensuite room. Good parking and value for money. A blackout curtain or blind and a ‘don’t disturb’ sign would be nice for people trying to sleep during the day.
- Gwendal (10/5): - Staff was amazingingly friendly, Ally, Michelle and Joe were really friendly.
Breakfast was perfect.
- David (8/5): Safe and quiet for a low price. - Good value for a safe and quiet location with free safe parking
Owner was friendly and helpful.
I will stay again. Needs a new mattress, could feel the springs
Smelt abit of dog. I wish places with multiple rooms could keep them separate
- Harry (3/5): - The staff were friendly and the inn was quiet. The inn is clearly dated with dampness filling the entire place when staying there. The toilets and bathroom are poorly put together and are in desperate need of repair. The beds are old and you can feel the springs digging into you.
Overall, if they'd just invest a bit of time renewing the bathroom, new beds, and new paint the rooms would be amazing!
- Fiona (9/5): - Value for money, location suited us as it was in a small village 14 minutes from Dundee. Nothing

- Guest (10/5): Great host , great food , lovely little village . - The owner couldn't do enough for us , when we were going to be late they put the lights and heating on . the food is excellent and the colleagues behind the bar are brilliant Nothing , made being away from home and the hassle of booking contractor's in less stressful

- Alistair (10/5): Love staying here, great friendly, welcoming staff. The owners are fantastic, food is exceptional and the area is very n - Great old building with loads of character and history Nothing
- Geoffrey (5/5): A good location for a transit stop to the North of Scotland - The bed was large and relatively comfortable. The room was what I expected for a budget hotel. Good enough for a one night stay in transit to somewhere else It was a budget room for a budget price. You get what you pay for
- wendy (8/5): -
- Martin (9/5): - Breakfast was lovely and great value for money.
We also had an evening meal and that was also great after a long day.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming.
Good value for money for an overnight stop.
- sarahwX1012JL (6/5): Welcoming & nice food - Friendly, helpful staff, food is good.
Rooms could do with some attention, carpet seen better days & the shower came away from the wall.
Generally clean though
- David (10/5): - .
- Gar (9/5): Great value, good food, traditional vibe and decoration - Great location , very quiet village, the owners and staff were excellent, food very tasty and good value, nice traditional vibe in the dining room / bar Nothing without being ultra picky
- Britton (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff great value No issue
- Britton (10/5): - Friendly helpful great value No issue
- Richard (6/5): - The place is a bit worn around the edges, and I found the Wi-Fi to be very unreliable.
It is quiet, though, and convenient for Perth and Dundee.
- Douglas (10/5): Lovely. Friendly, clean. Bed, shower. Breakfast available. - Very friendly, very welcoming on arrival.
No fuss, room and parking convenient.
I actually left my handbag in the room and only realised after I had checked out. The staff gave me the key straight back without question which obviously was really appreciated. I don't think there was anything I didn't like.
I don't think I knew check in wasn't until 4 o'clock, maybe should be in the info that gets sent by email, but I might have missed that when I booked.
- Derek (9/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): - Every thing so welcoming Not being in bar longer
- Scarlett (7/5): - Cheap clean great for a nights stay and dog friendly
- Dr Chris (8/5): As expected. Stayed here before. -

- Louise (9/5): Great stop off on a long journey - Staff were lovely, great to be able to get a meal, dog friendly Nothing
- Ann (10/5): Useful stop-off near A90. - Useful stop-off near A90. Absolutely brilliant friendly, helpful staff... the bar was really good. Hotel room could do with upgrading - this could be a brilliant 'destination hotel' if they spent money upgrading and modernising the rooms.
- Alastair (6/5): -
- Detlef (8/5): - Besonders netter Vermieter.
Etwas abgelegen
- Samuel (10/5): - Very nice place to be . Affordable and easy to get into Dundee with the bus from their bus stop . Sam is a great waiter + receptionist . Their response to calls are swift . Very supportive staff. 10/10
- Susan (1/5): Like we were in a horror film. - Absolutely nothing good about this property. Bedding ok but duvet disgusting. Curtains useless. Didn’t feel safe
- David (9/5): Quirky , old school gaff , loved it !! Magic staff & excellent food 👌 - Lovely old building , quirky , old school rooms . Loved it . No complaints here.
- ALESSIO D'AGOSTIN (5/5): - Camera sporca con mobilio vecchio e rovinato
- anonyme (7/5): Bien - - l'accueil
- le petit déjeuner
- la propreté - le wifi (faible)
- les ressorts du lit
- le lavabo en dehors de la salle de bain
- le système de douche
- Karen (4/5): - Really needs new mattresses, did not sleep well at all which taints entire visit. Staff were lovely though.
- Denise (8/5): A friendly, comfortable place😊 - A warm, welcoming host setting the atmosphere for this accommodation. Big, bright triple room. Room is older, but had all we needed. Nothing
- R696BYgordonf (2/5): Terrible experience - We were booked in for two nights and only stayed one… so bad was the standard/experience I happily paid £105 for our second night at a nearby premier inn. This place should be done under the trades description act. I’ve happily stayed in many 3 star accommodations over the years and this place doesn’t even come close. Be warned !!
- David (4/5): - Needs cleaning and new decor/refurb
- GEOFF (10/5): - Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and great value for money. Room small, but clean and ideal for 2-3 nights. It's not the Ritz, but I will be back to stay later this month and next. Overall it has a warm and friendly atmosphere, which you don't get in larger more expensive hotels.
