Guest Reviews
- Irene (7/5): Relaxing - Easy access, kind people, clean room. View
- Jason (10/5): Tilton Inn a hidden gem - Rooms were excellent! Owners were super nice! Food in bar and restaurant perfect!
- Deirdre (9/5): Friendly staff, convenient to a variety of destinations, excellent dinner in the restaurant -
- Chad (10/5): Great place in convenient location. - Friendly staff
Comfortable room
Well appointed All good
- Howard (6/5): - V. good location, small and dated but clean. Crawford room bed was pretty hard. I suspect that it hasn't been upgraded in years.
- Bryer-lyn (4/5): - location was convenient to where the wedding we were attending was located. I honestly didn't look up the hotel, my in-laws said this was where they were staying so we just booked as we didn't want to miss out on a room. Nothing included in terms of water bottles, breakfast, coffee pot etc. The mattress was awful - we did not sleep good and we literally just needed the room for a quick overnight stay for sleep after attending a wedding.
- Audrey (9/5): Historic, comfy, neighborly place to stay. - A very quaint, cozy place. I had the feeling I was staying at a friend's house.
- Chief (10/5): It was awesome - Clean and friendly staff/ owners Nothing
- Paul Eager (9/5): Quaint - Fabulous old building, very helpful friendly staff. Great bar and restaurant - had dinner and breakfast there, although I think they only do breakfast at weekends. Right in the centre of a scenic little town. Room was very small (but of course it's a very old building). No hairdryer.
- Anne (10/5): - Very nice staff
- Richard (10/5): - Convenient, well maintained great staff
- Vincent (10/5): - Very friendly staff, good food choices
- Susan (10/5): - Supposedly haunted. Heart footsteps from 3rd floor and checked it out. No corresponding room on 3rd floor. Haunting for sure!
- Katie (10/5): - Beautiful cozy inn. Enjoyed our stay
- Richard (10/5): - Had an excellent meal at the restaurant right at the inn.
- Chea (10/5): - Quant and clean room very near interstate 93.
- Patricia (10/5): Loved it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - It was very quint and the owners was phenomenal!
- Fran (8/5): - old Inn, bar has good menu options. diner for breakfast is walking distance. convenient for Bank Pavilion concert
- Barry (10/5): - Loved the comfy, cozy, antique style of the room we had, which was very clean. The bar area and dining inviting, with option to eat out on the porch. Very quiet, and the staff are friendly and awesome. We will stay there again! Where someone might want more modern place, or more eminities, we enjoyed quaint, basic, very sweet place. It has history and you can feel it..and maybe,,, hear it. 😃 I did.
- TERRENCE (10/5): My new absolute favorite place to stay and eat!! - This was an amazing stay at a historical property!! Owners were sooo great!! Staff was absolutely stellar!!! Restaurant and bar are also both exceptional!! Can’t recommend it enough!! I didn’t have more time to stay longer!!!
- Richard (9/5): -
- Diane (6/5): -
- Nancy (7/5): Good stay but the difficult parking may be a deal braker - I enjoy staying in historic hotels when traveling and the Tilton Inn fit the bill. The location was near the event I attended and all the staff was very helpful and profesional. Parking, parking, parking. I had to carry 5 pieces of luggage to a far parking lot. This may keep me from booking again. Blinds ripped and not usable, window didn't close so couldn't lock it.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - like going back in time
- Shirley (10/5): - A well kept old inn that is welcoming and unique. Greated by the owner upon arrival and she showed us to our room. The restaurants, The Onion was outstanding! Staff made the experience even better. We will definitely return. Thank you Kathy and Allan for your hospitality!
- Cheryl (6/5): Nice people, but a bit disappointing! - I expected it to be nicer. Hall carpets were dirty (room was clean), door handle was loose and had to be held just right to get the key to work, decor was odd (two faux fireplaces in a small room? 2nd was to set the tv, hang it on the wall over the 1st one!), but the owners are nice, pub downstairs was great, locals are nice people!
- Eric (2/5): Nope. - Nice people $50 ‘cleaning fee’ for a clean dog. Then an envelope to tip for cleaning The television didn’t work, thermostat didn’t control the heat. There wasn’t even a bulb in the reading lamp so I could read.
- Roberta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann Marie (10/5): Fun place to stay! - Lots of charm and character. Excellent hosts.
- Wendy Gayle (10/5): - Loved the TILTON iNN. Would definitely stay again. It was so clean. Rooms were quaint. Nice atmosphere. Shower was so awesome...customer service was so neat. Not your average hotel. Expect the unexpected. Supposed to be haunted. On the third night the bathroom light turned on...i was talking to hubby on the phone. This place.was.nostalgic as my oarents met there in 67. Go and enjoy a weekend stay at the Tilton Inn.
- James (8/5): - The uniqueness of the old building, the character, the charm
- Bruce (10/5): Great place to stay and definitely coming again!! - Greeted at the door by co-owner Kathy, who was as sweet as possible! Enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant Onions, every aspect of the dinner was phenomenal. Met Allan on 2nd and almost as nice as Kathy! Older hotel but loaded with charm, a 10 out of 10 place to stay!
- Tim (10/5): Great local place - We stayed for one night for a concert and it was a great experience all-around. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and looked recently renovated. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place and if we're ever in the area again we'll be staying here!
- Jennifer (10/5): We love the Tilton Inn! Great location, nice staff, adorable rooms, character. Wouldn't stay else! -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - The staff and the owners made sure we felt like family. Provided info on the things we liked that was in the area. N/A
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything !!!
Owners and staff are incredibly thoughtful and all around great people. Rooms are quaint and comfortable, we will definitely be going back
- Kenneth (10/5): - The staff were so helpful and friendly. The owners and staff alike made feel at home. I'm so glad I made the choice to stay at this friendly and fun Inn!
- Monika (10/5): - Easy going and welcoming. The building is old and funky and has a lot of that Old New Hamphire charm. The food in the restaurant never disappoints and the innkeepers are gracious and friendly. Over the years we stayed there several times and were never disapointed.
- Ross (10/5): Clean and inexpensive place to crash - Overall a great experience. Room and bathroom was clean and in decent condition. Perfect place to stay if you’re looking for an inexpensive place to crash for the night, and get cleaned up in the morning. Aesthetic is a classic room above a restaurant feel. Only downside was there was no fridge to store anything during your stay. Would definitely stay here again.
- Jennifer (10/5): We love staying here! - Fantastic little inn! Great staff, cute rooms, very clean.
- Ann (6/5): - This is an older property cramed in a seedy, noisy old downtown.
No coffee, no fridg and poor WI FI connection.
When we arrived, found they had "accidentally" given our room to someone else.
We had to end up in separate rooms.
Would not go back here.
- Drew (1/5): Bad -
- Goff (8/5): We would stay here again. - The staff were very friendly. The owner was very friendly as well. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. The floor was tilted so it made the bed tilted as well. The mattress also wasn’t the most comfortable.
- Ira (10/5): The owner is the staff and the entire experience was wonderful! Will be going back again next year - It was unique and historic
- Maureen (6/5): Worked for our short stay - Good location in the center of Tilton, only 20 minutes from the wedding venue we were driving to. Quaint, old-fashioned decor. Lots of character. Friendly, helpful office staff during check-in. This is an older building, so floors are not necessarily level. A few other things were less than expected: window looked out to a brick wall a few inches away, one bedside lamp switch did not work, hot and cold water was reversed in the bathroom.
- Colleen (10/5): - Quaint hotel in center of town. Small town so not a lot of dining options but hotel is charming. Great breakfast place a few doors down.
- Tina (9/5): Enjoyed the staff and great food to - The inside of the building was nice and decorated and clean the bar and dining room was to. I understand this building was built three times over last time that it was built. It was 1970. You can tell that it definitely has upgrades, but then there was certain parts of the building that they were redecorating which I understand but obviously needed to be finished and some spackling on the walls in the room that we were in and certain parts I noticed in the dining room but overall we had a great time and nice stay over.
- Rosemary (7/5): We had a good stay and ate at The Onions restaurant which is part of the hotel - A very good restaurant Very dark bathroom not enough bathroom lighting
- Kelly (9/5): Superb -
- Gregory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (4/5): Not great - Outdated in a bad way. We were expecting an older look, maybe early 1900s but we got the early 1990s and 2000s. Floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked. Toilet seat paint was worn off. Big patch in the ceiling unfinished. Laminate floors in the room were very worn down. The place needs some money invested into it. The view from the room was interesting. We just couldn't wait to finish our 2 night stay.
- Zack (9/5): Nice and comfortable. - In downtown, a historic area, staff friendly and restaurant on main floor. Room had a nice side section for sitting. No tea or coffee available in morning or evening.
- Jodie (9/5): The room was fine and the building quiet. We slept very well. - We did not have breakfast at the Tilton Inn The dining room staff was wonderful. The decor not so great, it was kind of blah.
- Cathy (9/5): Tilton Inn has a wonderful restaurant & bar. The food was excellent - Breakfast was a short stroll away Everything was great
- Janine (10/5): very enjoyable one night stay - location was nice
room was adorable
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Great little place. Quaint. Clean. Friendly staff. Nothing
- Julie (4/5): meh - Restaurant food! shabby. needs updating. Poorly decorated. bathroom’s need updates too
- Erin (10/5): Beautifully maintained little inn with so much character. - The Tilton Inn was beautiful, comfortable and had so much character. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had dinner at The Onion, really delicious food. My only suggestion would be to keep your dead bolt locked. Housekeeping opened our door without knocking at 8am while we were in the room.
- Kathleen (10/5): Tilton Inn for the win - Loved our stay at the Tilton Inn. It's a quaint old hotel with great porches to sit on and watch the local fireworks that happened to be going on. Also relax at the end of the day.
Onions restaurant was excellent from the food (excellent)to the service (excellent)and even the decor. Cheryl was a great server and Jess was an awesome bartender, both friendly and helpful. Loved being able to eat and relax right at the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
- Jeff (9/5): very friendly people who love to cater to your needs and I really appreciate that they genuinely care about your needs - the staff was fantastic the food was amazing and the location was great i would have liked bigger portions for the main meals at the restaurant
- Ron (10/5): Great stay during bike week - We stayed in the Henry Ford room lots of books. Bed very clean and comfortable.
Was nice it had a tavern and restaurant on site, food was great. Would like to have seen coffee available in the tavern in the morning, but Cumberland was just a short walk
- Maryann (8/5): Lovely place for a New England visit - Great location. Hotel was historic and quaint. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Shower was a bit cold. Room temperature could have been easier to control
- Andrew (10/5): - The staff friendly and helpful. I plan to come back and stay for longer
- Rmmjr (10/5): Bermuda in NH - Old fashioned inn. Friendly. Great British/Bermuda pub. Owner from Bermuda. Would have liked breakfast there but nice breakfast just down the street at Diana's
- Larry (8/5): - I totally recommend this inn. The staff were incredibly nice and the food in the attached restaurant was great. I absolutely loved our room. We stayed in the Henry Ford room which was extremely cozy. Once the hot water kicked on in the shower I didn't want to leave due to the high power head. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that there was no coffee maker in the room and the guest journal that is supposed to be in the room was gone. Other than that everything was great and we plan on going back. I would recommend this Inn to anyone.
- Pamela (9/5): Superb -
- Albert (1/5): Bad -
- Julie (10/5): - Quite, clean. Would stay there again
.
- Annemarie (4/5): Inn owner could learn a lesson or two about hospitality from his staff ! - the town is lovely ! The historic charm of the inn truly pops out at you when you arrive at its door . the restaurant was cozy , the food very good and the hostess and waitstaff were very friendly Through booking.com we sent a request for the Sandborn room which we were not given.
Sadly , the room we did get was small , stuffy and way too warm even for October . The bed was very uncomfortable ,sloping in the middle and the pillows were very small and flat .
When inquiring if the Sandborn room was booked that night the owner Alan informed us that it wasn't . I asked him how much more it would be to stay in that room instead as we had requested it earlier . His curt response was " it's not an option . with staffing the way it is I wouldn't be able to get it cleaned for someone else tomorrow " Wow !
Again , I can't say enough about the wonderful server and hostess in the Onion's Pub . They were very welcoming and accommodating .
The owner was not.
- Nicholas (8/5): Great hotel, but no ghosts. - Friendly staff, good food and room. I only deduct points for having not encountered any ghosts.
- Terry (7/5): understandable because of the Inn’s age that there was no elevator but it would have been nice. - Quaint bed and breakfast without a breakfast the bathroom door squeaked really bad
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stanton (10/5): Exceptional - I loved everything ❤️ N/A
- REBECCA (8/5): - The Tilton Inn has small homey touches that made the stay comfortable
- Mary (7/5): It was an interesting experience of an older hotel. It was clean and friendly. I would return. - Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It’s a quaint hotel in the middle of town. The food in the restaurant was very good and the bar was nice and had bar food available. The room needed better lighting and a mirror to see yourself doing make up and hair. The one in the bathroom was very old and the lighting was terrible. There was a big mirror over the head of the bed, and a picture over the dresser. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom and no phone in the room to call and ask for one. So I needed to get dressed and find someone.
- Michael (8/5): - Great location and having restaurant downstairs made it very convenient.
- ROBERT (8/5): - It was quaint with bookshelves full with old books and a big poster bed. The restaurant below had wonderful food (lunch and dinner only) and jazz piano player on Saturday night. I would recommend if you don't want a lot of bells and whistles.
- steven (6/5): - Nice room and convenient but the Restaraunte was closed and there was no ac or hot water in our room.
- Bryan (10/5): Weekend away - Loved our stay here. Friendly, affordable and clean. Room was a little small but would like to visit again. The restaurant on the first level called Onions was great also
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was good and the rooms were comfortable.
- Brian (10/5): - Nice quaint place. Very quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff took personal interest in me, were helpful, and the place itself was comforting. I enjoyed staying there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was such a nice treat to stay at then the usual hotels. This place was so quaint and perfect. It was like staying at home. Rooms were small but nice and loved the pub. Get away from the big hotels and stay here!
- George (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Great friendly place to stay owners on site friendly local attractions in the area I was there for bike week it was a disappointment there wasn't too many bikes their but maybe next year
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Like the food at the pub, not crazy about the sounds from adjacent room(s)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old Charm NE - Price was very decent, good restaurant on premises and good sound insulation floor to floor (first floor has a bar and the restaurant). Located right in the center of Tilton, if you like old charm New England this is the place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hospitable and professional staff. Cuisine was was varied and well served. Chef’s special was delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming hotel in Quaint New England town. We were greeted by the lovely owners, a warm cozy fire and a bowl of Bermuda Onion Soup 💕. Each room has a different theme. Excellent food and ambiance.
- Senas (10/5): - Great - cozy - practical - historic - convenient - enjoyed my stay
- Kurt (10/5): Comfy and friendly. - I got a good price on the room on the day of my stay and it was nearby where I needed to be. This is a quaint inn with restaurant/bar that has good food and service. My room was basic and small, but I knew that from the description. Friendly hosts. I would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly, quaint, clean, would go back if looking for a place in that area
- Jeffrey (10/5): Great weekend getaway - Friendly staff, great food, beautiful room, and comfortable bed. Couldn’t ask for more. We will definitely be back.
- Moira (8/5): Thanks for the stay! - We enjoyed the old world charm of the inn, the air conditioning was more than adequate. The beds were comfortable but the noise from the road woke us during the night. We were in the front side of the building. The Henry Ford room, on the back of the building, was charming and quiet! Breakfast was wonderful and fresh. The inn was clean and pleasant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room and comfortable bed! Didn’t want to get up in the morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place for relax. - The Good...People very Friendly, good food, relaxing placed. the bad...everything close at 9;00 p.m. and the bed was lose and making to much noise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very helpful.,............................
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The setting was laid-back and very peaceful and quiet. The people and staff were very friendly.
- LISA (10/5): - We enjoyed everything at the Tilton Inn. Sarah makes the best Bloody Mary's, Alisha provided amazing wait service. We were originally going to stay one night but they accommodated us when we requested an additional night. We loved the Henry Ford room. The owners, Allan and Kathy are super friendly and mingle among the quest. They offered a continental breakfast, and a nice variety for pub food and entrees. We can't say enough good things about the Inn and will certainly visit again. The Inn is old but has lots of character so we didn't mind at all. It was homey and very enjoyable.
- Barbara (10/5): Tilton inn - Room extremely clean and bed so comfortable. Owners were wonderful!
