• Gisela (9/5): Gute Adresse um die interessante Stadt und tolle Orte in der Nähe zu erkunden - Zentrale, aber ruhige Lage mit Parkplatz vor der Tür.. Freundliche und entspannte Mitarbeiter mit hilfreichen Tipps.. Große, saubere Zimmer mit Kühlschrank und Möglichkeit zur Kaffee- und Teezubereitung. Tolle Aussicht von der Dachterrasse! Man hätte auch Frühstück bekommen, was wir aber nicht ausprobiert haben. Petchaburi und Umgebung ist ein sehr lohnendes Reiseziel, fast ganz ohne westliche Touristen. Hier kann man noch viel Ursprünglichkeit erleben! 😍 Für uns hat alles gepasst!

Friendly, helpful staff, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Refrigerator , hot water, good a/c, very comfortable bed, large sized room. Varied, very good Thai breakfast, included, free bike use, maps,. Situated in a very convenient area in a lovely little local street. Walking distance to main old town, market, temples, good food and coffee outlets. etc etc. I stayed here 10 years ago and it was very good then, it’s even better now. Well maintained and keeping up with what their customers want. Well done.

• Mark (8/5): I liked it well enough to recommend it, especially since I doubt there is much better. - I was blown away by the location, which is right on a historic street with many things to see, close to the best temple in town. There was an ancient shrine for Hanuman. A museum for leather puppetry from the old days that has shows on some Saturdays. The bed was less comfortable than I'm used to, but I usually spend more for a room. There were no better hotels in the city as far as I could tell, so I'd call it adequate. The a/c was a bit noisy but did work.

We booked a parking space, only 3 available. It was kept for us and excellent, you would struggle to park anywhere nearby. Not a fault at all of the owners as they only have limited frontage.

Clean, close to both morning and night markets but the best thing about this place is the wonderful staff! So friendly and helpful. Our daughter loved them and they loved her. Nothing it’s our second stay and it’s been wonderful both times despite the 6 year gap!

Host was most helpful in getting us bus reservations and a ride to the station. Much appreciated. Kind suggestion. Only two bath towels. Would have liked to have a hand towel. We did not mind but there are many stairs to mount and no elevator. Something to be considered.

• Heico (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, very well organized little guest house with cute touches and excellent value for money. Has a very big upstairs covered terrace and a small communal living room with a water boiler for tea. Owner and staff are very friendly and try to ensure the very best stay. A few private, narrow parking slots. Quick and good laundry service costs 10 THB per piece. Also very good: The guest house is in a very quiet lane, with lots of attractions immediately nearby: nice lanes with wooden houses, coffee shops, restaurants, other cute funny food shops, temples. The bustling morning market is just across the river, 5 minutes away by walk. For destinations further away, it's easy to get Grab motorcycle taxis seemingly anytime. Strict no shoes policy in the house; leave your shoes on the front porch on racks or in the shoes cabinet, or in front of them when the house is full as seems to be the case often. In theory the shoes could be stolen late at night, but I guess that's no consideration in slow peaceful Phetchaburi. Online I requested a rather quiet and private room, and my large room D1 on the backside was just that - thanks for honoring my request, not all hotels do that. The room has a delightful, cute style, a big window with additional mosquito screens and clean floor tiles; the backside view unto a dull building is boring though and even in December for me it was too hot to ever open the window. The hot shower has very good pressure and temperature, shampoo and soap are plentiful and pleasant. The bathroom has a bit of natural aeration and thankfully no noisy fan when you turn on the light. No bad smell for me. The powerful aircon could be a little less audible, still it is no rambling old monster. There is a big fridge and new drinking water each day. A big cabinet and an additional drawer furniture hide all your belongings. Never did I think, this equipment is too cheap, instead I was surprised about the quality and things. Wifi was good, bad or not there (experienced on two devices), not sure if it depended on the number of guests. Please note, I did NOT trouble management with WiFi questions, but used separate mobile data if necessary.

They take the time listen and help you and go well beyond all expectations. The room we had could use a handyman but it is within what we expected for the price range of the stay. We would still choose this place again.

There is a local market right across the river with a coffee place and breakfast options. We booked our stay quite spontaneously. When our room wasn't available, we were upgraded to another room free of charge. Our hostess was extremely friendly and so, so helpful. She helped us organize our travel onwards to Pran Buri/Sam Roi Yot National Park.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Central, Clean, Accommodating! - We loved out stay at the White Monkey! The staff was very helpful, check-in was quick and easy, and the room was spacious and clean. They arranged for a songthaew to take us around the city, negotiating reasonable prices for us as well. The location in the middle of the city is excellent!

Our room was on the top floor so it was quiet and private. Comfortable king size bed and decent size bath with shower.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Correct, sans plus - La literie est dure, l'environnement est bruyant et la clim fait un bruit insupportable (boules quies nécessaires). Un petit déjeuner gratuit est fourni mais limité au strict minimum. En théorie (affiché dans le local) : toasts, thé, eau, bananes, pastèque et oeufs. Nous n'avons jamais vu les œufs, les autres items étaient successivement absents. Il faut faire sa vaisselle ! Et les chaussures sont interdites dans l'établissement. Les propriétaires sont serviables. Pas extraordinaire donc mais l'offre est assez pauvre dans la ville...

• Suzy (10/5): Wonderful hosts, clean, great value and location - The White Monkey was the best place we stayed in Thailand in terms of value, location, wonderful hosts, and great onsite amenities. This is a very nice guesthouse. It is on a very narrow street so it is relatively quiet for being right in the middle of old town. The hosts were fantastic - answering all of our questions, booking pickup for the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand as well as local taxis and tuk tuks to see sites in the area. The guesthouse has multiple spaces to relax, computers for guests to use, and outdoor tables. It is all decorated with cute monkeys making it very family friendly too. There is even a simple breakfast available each morning.
• Heather (8/5): Clean hotel with friendly staff - This was a clean hotel with friendly staff. The workers were more than willing to help us get to the national park by ordering a mini-bus for us. They also allowed us to keep our bags safely locked up while we were at the park, even though we weren't staying at the hotel another night. She even ordered us a tuk-tuk to get to nearby attractions. There isn't a lot within walking distance of the hotel.
