- Jong-Jin (2/5): - The location of this inn is scenic looking out the Michigan Lake on top of a bluff. This was the reason why my wife and I decided to stay in this inn. But we had a very unpleasant check in experience. The room that was given to us was NOT the one that we paid to hotels.com. We booked and paid for an upscale lake-view room having a jacuzzi and a view to the lake. The room that was given to us had no jacuzzi, no view to the lake, and dilapidated interior facilities and stinking smell. When I talked to the receptionist that a wrong room was given to us, she replied that when guests book an upgraded room through a third party booking sites such as hotels.com, they still get the cheapest room. A total nonsense. And she said that to get an upgraded room, like one I paid for, I must paid an up-charge. Not to stay a night in a stinking room and to ruin a vacation, I paid the upcharge to get a room that I already paid. A bitter experience. The photos below are the cheap room given to us initially.

Blue light object ( WiFi?) positioned right over bed. Very bright, couldn’t be turned off; disturbed sleep. Next morning front door sign says “office closed” with realtor lock box on door knob and large box blocking door. Very odd. I’d like a refund!

- Riley (10/5): Amazing lake view - Patio, hottub, lakeview The view of the lake was amazing the swimming area was closed off the entire time we were there unfortunately. The only thing that is weird is the parking lot is very small and if alot of cars are there you may get stuck depending on where you park
- Daryl (8/5): Nice casual Lakeside hotel near South Haven - I had to wait for awhile at reception, 6-7 minutes. There was a sign that someone would be right back. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. Looked newly renovated, i had a sunny corner room, kitchenette with coffeemaker, comfy bed. No breakfast offered; i was told that stopped during covid. The grounds are nice, lovely Lakeside setting with lounge chairs. I also swam laps in the pool. There was slimy stuff on the walls of the pool - maybe mold? I trust that the chlorine kept me safe. Its end of season, so likely the pool will be drained soon for scrubbing.

- Susan (10/5): - We stayed in a two bedroom queen with a small kitchen in between them. It was a little dated, (I think some units have been updated and some haven't yet) but it was clean and mostly comfortable. My husband hit his head on the fireplace mantle because it is a bit of a tight squeeze to walk between the mantle and end of the bed. The property is very beautiful, with great views of the lake, a cute playground and sandbox for my granddaughter, twon no-frills pools (but more than adequate) and a large grassy play area great for outdoor games. Staff was very friendly. I thought the price was a little high but maybe comparable to other South Haven properties on Labor Day weekend. I would definitely stay here again!
- andrew (6/5): lake bluff - the room was not we expected outdated and small the beds were extremely uncomfortable the tv reception was absolutely awful the garbage can outside was constantly overflowing flowing the front desk staff were pleasant the access to the beach was not easy and when they say beach it’s a downhill walk which is very tricky and it basically leads to a bunch of lounge chairs the view of the lake is excellent but overall was not worth the money the ground floor rooms should be advertised as motel rooms the pictures on the site are misleading
- Mercedes (6/5): - The grounds and pool area had a fantastic lake view. The room was the pits. Mattress was not at all comfortable. Bathroom mirror was cracked, window blinds were too short so they covered the remaining glass with duct tape to block outside view. Room was priced like a four star hotel but delivered like a no star overpriced dump.
- Carrie (10/5): Perfect weekend for relaxing - Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly woman at the desk. Extremely helpful and kind. The room (although slightly dated) was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Perfect water views for sunset watching. Settled off the beaten path with a quiet surrounding that is perfect for relaxing. And just a short drive into town for shopping and restaurants. We loved our short stay. Definitely planning another stay in the future.

- Todd (4/5): If you just need a place to sleep. - Overall, nice property but the rooms were basically just a place to sleep and shower. Very small and dated. Not many electrical outlets and if you need wifi it’s not great, even if you use their shared network. It was clean however, and the property does have grounds with a swimming pool and fitness equipment. No real water access to Lake Michigan, as an elevated bed of sand backs up to a tall, rocky bank. Overall, it reminded us somewhat of a summer camp than a hotel. South Haven is a quick drive down the road though, so we chose to spend our time in town and just come back to sleep.

- Alicia (4/5): - Be aware that the photo of the room used when purchasing is more than likely not the room you will be getting when checked in. Other people next to us made the same mistake and feel like we had a bait and switch situation when booking. Our building was partially painted. Our room had drawers which did stay closed and rolled out due to the floor not being fully level. The grounds are beautiful with a great view of the lake. This location was also conveniently close to downtown soha However we were constantly reminded of mismanagement with a hot tub that only partially worked and head rests falling off. Large boats parked in the parking lot old grill laying in the trees next to the parking lot. Our room had no smoke detector which was similar to the room below. Staff was friendly but likely lacked oversight to get simple tasks accomplished like clean towels for rooms

Unfortunately it wouldn't turn off so the room turned into a sauna. Lol. The water wouldn't get hot for the shower or jacuzzi. A bit of a bummer but it was warm enough. All in all pleased with our stay as a little weekend getaway. Not sure if we'll return, but I would possibly recommend it to others. Just be sure to keep an open mind and reasonable expectations.

They do have nicer rooms available but for a one night stay the basic room was just fine. They also have an outdoor venue area overlooking the lake, looks perfect for weddings and receptions. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and inviting. The outdoor area of this hotel is what sells it and makes it all worth it! Beautifully situated overlooking the lake. All in all it was a good stay and we would stay again.

- Bonita (10/5): - We have stayed here for over 30 y ears and watched the growth and transformations take place. The new owners and managers are still working out a few bugs, but good things have been happening. The setting can not be beat. It is ildyllic. It is such a peaceful place.

- Ridge (2/5): Not worth the price. - Ac didn’t work room is only half finished management was either non existent or didn’t care about their guests stay . The view is beautiful and the spa in the room were the highlights. Under better management or ownership this could be a really nice place . May just be a one time thing but get a feeling it’s not talking to other guests that were there and hearing a few complain to maintenance while I was there also no room service or even asked if we needed towels etc .

- Devin (6/5): - There was no lock on the back back patio door. The bathroom door did not latch nor lock. Tv was not a 60 inch like stated in room info also did not have Netflix or Hulu as stated. The fire place did not work. None of the exhaust fans worked. The vending machine outside was $3 and the job expired in November 2023.
- marta (2/5): Gross! - Our room was the worst room I have every rented. I’ve traveled across the entire United States. The door didn’t shut properly and didn’t latch safely. The vertical blinds were broken and two slates were on the floor. Heater control knob was missing and was so discussing we didn’t even shower the next morning, just got out of there. The room was unprepared for occupancy. The pictures I saw online were not the room we got. Cost $200.00 per night. Don’t go there!!

Ceiling fan wobbled and was noisy, issue with alarm clock and overall cosmetics of the room, drywall. window shade, and window trim lacked professionalism as far as workmenship which made the cost of the room seem too pricey.

- Dawn (4/5): - We had stayed at this resort 2 years ago and had a gorgeous, clean and perfect room overlooking Lake MI, so we decided to stay again. We were unaware of the fact that they have a remodeled section of the resort and a NOT remodeled section. We were put in the old section, and our room was full of mold! The shower stall had been painted, right over the mold but it was still showing through, and the musty smell was making us both sick. We went to speak to the front desk and she informed us that the whole back section was not remodeled, but still cost the same, and they didnt have any employees to clean a different room for us to move to!! Eventually she had us move, to the room right next door, which had the exact same smell and mold issues in the bathroom! It is a beautiful property, but Id only stay again if I was guaranteed to have a new room
- Jennifer (6/5): Not as expected - This place is so-so. The Wi-Fi never worked. The tv kept going out & you would have to get up & mess with the wire to make it work again. The ladies at the front desk tried their best to help. For the price I expected it to be a bit nicer & not have ripped, dingy carpeting. The scenery is nice. I wouldn't stay again.
- James (2/5): Want a refund! - For one thing it shows Lake Michigan butts up to it but you can’t access it from there. There is a 70’ drop and you have to drive down town to access it. Second thing. A storm came through that was really bad and they lost electricity. But no generators. Non! Ppl next to us swearing and hanging out the door ppl in the United across the way we’re fighting loudly and it scared my granddaughters. I went in to see when they expected the electric to go back on and this guy made the call and it surely wasn’t something the company he was talking to was planning on in that area anytime soon. Soo I told them I was leaving. Wanted a refund. With ppl going crazy in the area and no lights I wasn’t planning on staying. She said they don’t give refunds. I guess I should have read the fine print. I told her the kids were unsafe there and they couldn’t expect ppl to stay if there was no electric. No toilet can’t flush no lights. Had no idea when they’d come back on. I want a refund. I’m not going back. Expensive for not having a beach. And it made us all uncomfortable.
- stephanie (6/5): - Great location. Our only problem was the beds and sheets. The mattresses don’t have water proof pads or any protection on them. Just thin sheets were over them. Not sure how clean that can be!

Missing parts of the window blind though there was a curtain, but that is not going to give privacy or block out the light when it is placed above the Air Conditioner which blows the curtain around, Clerk at check in told us the hours of the office and that she would be there questions or concerns. We had a question about early checkout, so we went to office 1.5 hours before closing, lights were off and door was locked. For the price we paid I expected a better than a mediocre room.

The rooms are very outdated and not homey or comfortable. We were so upset by the condition of the room/property that we left and didn’t even stay at this hotel.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great. It was right along the lake and great views of the sunset. They had a food truck which made it nice for the evening meal. Its currently being updated and will have some nice upgrades soon. I was disappointed, we had reserved a queen bed but ended up with a double bed. The stool in the bathroom ran constantly which was a little bothersome trying to sleep. The room was clean.
- Keith (8/5): Friendly/ Helpful staff - The noise we kept hearing like a knocking sound. We think it was the wind blowing the fire extinguisher outside on the wall. It would help if you could secure it down, so it doesn’t move. The girls at the front desk were very friendly n helpful.
- Theresa (6/5): - The room was clean and the bed was comfy but everything had a dingy feel to it - especially outdoors. The blinds covering our window were missing 4 slats. We noticed shortly after 10pm and staff was gone for the evening so we had to prop some clothes on the windowsill and hang a towel to cover the window. I brought it up when checking out but the receptionist wasn’t concerned at all.
