Guest Reviews
- Corry (10/5): Restorative , my happy place - The location is outstanding Nothing this was our third visit and we never go to the same place twice but Pew is different
- Alan (10/5): Great little cottage - It's a lovely wee cottage sitting within touching distance from the North Sea. Our favourite part was sitting at the window with a cup of coffee watching the sea. The cottage had everything that we needed and cooked a couple of meals. Our dog enjoyed her time in and around the cottage. We visited the small villages along the coast to Gardenstown. Pennan brought back happy memories of watching Local Hero. We also went into Fraserburgh and while looking around the harbour met someone who was happy to explain the different types of boats. Nothing
- Tracey (10/5): Absolutely perfect in every way to celebrate turning 60. - The location of the cottage is amazing.
Spectacular views, tranquil setting to while away the hours.
The cottage was well equipped with everything you needed. Beautifully decorated. Just perfect! There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Christine (9/5): Stunning place to stay! - The view is incredible Bathroom could do with some TLC
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Mirko (9/5): Nettes Cottage mit tollem Ausblick. Gerne wieder…
- Lindsay (10/5): - Perfect location and home. Nothing to dislike
- Alison (10/5): A wonderful gem in a stunning location. - A very well kept cottage in a stunning location. The host's communication and information on the area is first class, and the locals very welcoming. There was nothing not to like, all essentials carefully thought of by the Host.
- Jackie (10/5): - Cottage was amazing had everything , views are stunning and location great. We went to a few beaches near they were beautiful. Very relaxing place to stay. Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent location and a beautiful cosy cottage - Everything! I’d seen it on a TV programme some years ago and have always wanted to stay. It was cosy, warm and spacious, with everything we needed (and that was promised, which isn’t always the case line WiFi and TV) The location was perfect - would like to visit in a warmer month and enjoy sitting outdoors. Nothing.
- Julie (10/5): The perfect place to relax & let the waves take away the stresses of everyday life. - The view is incredible, watching the waves was very relaxing. The property has a telescope & binoculars, I could see loads of seabirds on the rocks far out to sea as well as fishing boats. Pew with a View is a home from home, it has everything you need and more. This was my second stay and we will definitely be booking again. Nothing, apart from leaving.
- Mole (10/5): We stayed at pew with a view beautiful stunning place with stunning views everything you need to have a nice relaxing ti - Absolutely stunning place nice and cosy the views were amazing
- Amanda (8/5): Beautiful stay - Beautiful views, lots of little extras. Host was very good at keeping InTouch. My dogs loved the beach walks nearby. There wasn't much I didn't like, eh maybe just shower didn't have enough power for me.
- Carla (10/5): Beautiful, fantastic, cozy, stunning views - The view is absolutely beautiful, it is rare to find a property with such amazing views.
The cottage is super comfy with many extra touches to make you welcome, including a great selection of chocolates, biscuits. There are books and pains for cobbles off the beach. Super dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Absolutely beautiful
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional accommodation with stunning view - The cottage is beautiful with the most stunning view. Lovely enclosed garden, very secure for our dog. Will definitely be back. Nothing. Everything was just perfect.
- Alison (10/5): It wasn’t for long enough! Perfect, relaxing place to stay - Amazing little cottage with perfect views. Nothing
- Karen (10/5): Relaxing and chilled - Theresa views No complaints
Tutto Ok.
- E.Schmidt (10/5): -
- Lynn (9/5): Stunning views. Very relaxing watching the tides come in and out. Could sit there all day - The views are stunning. The property had everything you would need and more. The owner came along to see everything was ok and gave us recommendations on what beach to take the dog to and where was good for fish & chips The only fault was the road. It was very busy and many vehicles speeding. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about that
- julie (10/5): Peaceful week away watching the tides change ships collecting creel baskets , dog had run of the oitside space would def - Excellent view perfect situated lovely owner
- Brian (9/5): Total rest and relaxation which was what I was aiming for!! - Wonderful location, bright, sunny , relaxing I couldn’t get heating to work in the bedroom but this wasn’t an issue as I don’t like a warm room
- Kay (9/5): A very comfortable, relaxing and stress free home from home , lots to do locally - Location on the rocky foreshore gives fabulous views out to sea with abundant wildlife and little fishing boats passing by. Starry nights. A haven of relaxation. During winter months , a heavy curtain across inside of door would have added extra cosy appeal. But no complaints about anything
- Alistair (9/5): Superb -
- Young (10/5): 2nd stay here . This is quite simply a beautiful relaxing cottage . - Amazing location with beautiful view Everything was fantastic
- Jade (10/5): Great to get and will be back thanks sue - It’s very cozy, comfortable and warm. Great views and quiet place to relax. Great for scenery, coastal trails and getting some rest. My little dog loved it too wandered down the road and back …. Very quiet and safe.
- Able (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Fantastic cottage with wonderful views - As previous review as this followed on from those dates As previous review as this followed on from those dates
- Angela (10/5): Fantastic cottage with views to die for! Very calming listening to the waves. - The view was fantastic, a very comfortable cottage. Dog poo down the side of cottage on towards the grassed area near the waters edge. A boy dog was obviously let out daily without a collar and he walked along the waters edge from the cottages further along. He did this numerous times and pooed. Not nice when you’re trying to enjoy the view!
- Maggie (10/5): Best cottage ever! - Loved everything. The cottage was amazing. Spectacular views. Brilliant location. Lots to explore nearby. Shops only 5 minutes by car. Superb beaches. The most amazing host, Sue. She was super friendly and very kind. -
- Steven (10/5): Just the perfect getaway. - Stunning cottage set in just the most wonderful location.the views of the ever changing scenery and wildlife waking up every morning was something special. Everything was catered for in the cottage is so well presented by the wonderful host that is sue. We will definitely be back. Absolutely nothing! Everything was perfect for our stay.
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (10/5): Stunning break, with stunning views, immaculately clean, well equipped. We have already rebooked for next year. - Most definitely the location, you couldn’t wish for a better view. It is well equipped, absolutely immaculate and Sue the host is super nice. Absolutely nothing!
- Stuart (10/5): Nice relaxing couple of days just not long enough beautiful area to explore . - View from cottage was great out to the sea lovely cottage and has everything you need , host Sue popped in make sure we were okay and needed anything
Went out a walk with the dog and popped in to local pub and all locals made us really welcome . Fraserburgh beach is a must for a walk with the dog really nice . No complaints
- Christine (10/5): This was the perfect getaway for us. - On the morning of our arrival the owner sent me an email with all the required information.
This included the key safe number for the front door key and information with regards to the storage space underneath the accommodation and where the key to that was located in the property
If required, we could store out luggage in there .
It is also where the washing machine / tumble dryer and large fridge freezer for extra food storage was situated
There is a small fridge with freezer compartment in the accommodation.
Considering the accommodation was basically one large room it was cleverly set out with the added bonus of a small shower room / toilet incorporated.
The bedroom was set at the back of the property and could be sectioned off by closing the net curtains attached to the walls (so cosy).
As we have hectic lives , we wanted to go somewhere where we could do nothing except relax unwind, take in the sea air while watching the wild life and watch the world go by and that is exactly what we were able to do.
The property also has a telescope and binoculars for use during your stay.
We were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine (when it didn't rain) I have to admit there was nothing we didn't like.
Everything you could need for a holiday was provided.
The accommodation was beautifully decorated and the sea view from the full window was excellent.
It was everything we hoped it would be and more.
- Georgina (10/5): A very special place to stay. The peace, wildlife & nature only enhances your stay here. - Love Pew with a view, Always love returning to this amazing wee fisherman’s cottage. This was our 4th visit & next year’s holiday was booked before we arrived. The scenery, wildlife - seals, dolphins, and at times orcas & basking sharks. Peace and having the sea beside you is just what you need. I love sitting watching the ever changing sea in front of you. The huge picture window , the various seating areas in the garden & in front of the cottage provides choice of perspective. Great for wildlife watching. Getting up early to watch the sunrise out of the sea is a must. Sitting by the fire pit at night watching the stars & shooting stars, and if you’re lucky the Aurora takes your breath away. Susan is an excellent host, so lovely, welcoming and nothing is a bother. I go with my mum & dog. I actually found this wee gem for the dog as she loves the water so much & I wanted a place where I could open the gate and let her run into the sea. Nothing it’s perfect as it is.
- Nicole (9/5): Perfect for relaxing - Stunning views and a quiet area. We could completely relax in this warm and safe space. The host was a delight and we were made to feel at home. I would definitely stay there again. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Santo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (10/5): Wow - The whole experience was amazing Nothing
- Laura (8/5): Beautiful views - View was stunning Didn't like the bed room set up, plastic doors don't keep the noise out if trying to sleep and the TV is on in the lounge
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Cute, well-equipped cottage with an amazing view - The cottage had pretty much everything we needed and we didn't find it cramped at all. The view is spectacular. I was just happy just to sit and stare out of the window. It's proximity to the road meant that we couldn't open the window to listen to the waves, but when the windows were closed you could hardly hear the road noise. Sue was a super helpful host. Two wine glasses would have been nice. Bit of traffic noise.
- Christine (10/5): A complete hidden gem. Beautiful location steps from the sea. - Stunning and uninterrupted views of the sea. Simply breathtaking.
- Ross (10/5): An extremely relaxing bolt hole with everything clean and well maintained. IF we’re back this at it’s a must do. - Everything ,no need for the TV the view is amazing always changing with a pod of Dolphins passing each morning. Tiniest gripe is the bathrooms a bit cold but then we stayed in January.
- Carol (9/5): Cosy fisherman’s cottage with spectacular sea views - The seafront location is truly spectacular!
Even in late November when the sun hit those rocks in the morning, through that massive picture window, it was amazing.
It’s petite but very well converted inside and has a generous seating area and a bedroom that embraces the cute factor.
I loved the fact that there was a true sense of history. The cottage dates from the 1600s when they were fisherman’s cottages and looking out at the rocks on the sea coast, from which the cottage was built, makes you think!
We were there in a real cold snap and it was below zero a lot of the time but there is a decking area with furniture which I think would be fantastic in the summer.
Great communication from Sue. It was cosy with the heating on, but the heater in the bedroom made a sort of metallic clanking noise as it heated up and cooled down.
If you wanted to eat in the cottage it would have been on your lap but the kitchen did contain everything needed to cook a full meal and if it was warm enough eating on the deck would be great.
- Marcia (9/5): Superb - Lovely big window to watch the waves, could have sat there all day.
Cottage was clean, felt very homely and welcoming.
- Lorna (10/5): Was a great few days away our 2nd trip here this year - Everything was spot on . Very comfortable cozy cottage Nothing
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (8/5): Nice property too expensive for what it is. No access to any beach just nice views. - The views were lovely There was a lot of clutter in the kitchen and it made it hard to find room to prepare food. The fridge was way too small and you had to try and carefully position food in there otherwise when you opened the door it all came out. I banged my leg off the bed as the wooden post as you walked in. No access to a beach.
- Matallica (9/5): Superb - Lovely view. Super hostess.
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional - I would like to say,if anyone has any issues, this is the place to come, this place has everything for any one who has mental or health issues, waking up the a morning sun rise, the smell of the sea, the walks along the beach, see whales seals and dolphins, why go on a cruise, when they this is on your door steep, sue the owner can't do enough, so helpful, the history of the place who why and what for, I couldn't stay longer , but we have booked for next year,
- Vivien (9/5): Very relaxing and the host was friendly and informative - View from picture windows and the front of the cottage was fantastic The weather
- Brian (8/5): highly recommend, idyllic - location, beautifully furnished, thoughtful hosts
- Valerie (9/5): idyllic little cottage - location . cosy comfortable . fully equipped . proximity to sea . Steps from cooking area to sitting area
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is wonderful, the view is astounding, it the perfect place to enjoy a sea view and nice coastal walks Really nothing!
- Martyn (7/5): an amazing sea side view and beautiful sunrise - sea view, decorations, good heating, excellent communication road noise and vibration right behind the bedroom which is below the road, also suggest the outside security lights are motion sensor so as not to obscure the night view.
- Andrew (9/5): great for a short break , love being by the sea - loved the sea views from windows ,unique cosy little cottage Bathroom was a bit tight
- Hazem (9/5): Fascinating views over the sea - Scenes from the window, ideal place to relax
- Brian (10/5): Pew with a brilliant view - Stayed here last year, and loved it that much we booked for this newyear.
Lovely cottage right on the edge of the sea, and has everything you would need for a self catering holiday.
We have now booked it for next year aswel, as we enjoyed it that much Nothing to not like
- Alison (10/5): - Our GPS in the rental car wasnt working properly, so finding the cottage was a bit tricky to find, but once we did, oh my! What a great little place! Right on the water, with spectacular views- sunrise on the North Sea. The owner was easy to reach by phone and email. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed.
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed my stay as it was very relaxing and quite. The is facilities was great everything that you need was provided I would love to take my grandkids as I have 3 they would love it there so near the sea. I will return to this property there was nothing I didn’t like
- Bryan (10/5): Perfect accommodation for a couple. - Superb location a few yards from the sea. The cottage was cosy with wonderful views out to sea. We wanted for nothing.
All local amenities were in easy reach. The weather could have been kinder.
- Julian (7/5): Good -
- Richard (10/5): Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. So peaceful, with just the relaxing sound of waves as we watched the wildlife. - clean, comfortable, perfect location This cottage is absolutely stunning, the only thing we didn’t like was having to leave after an amazing week.
- James (10/5): - Fantastic location, really well cared for cottage. Everything you need is in the cottage, kitchen is really well resourced.
Thank you Sue!
- Kate (10/5): - Great cottage by the sea. Hopefully we’ll be back!
- Susan (10/5): Perfect view - The cottage and view are amazing. We only stayed one night, however, it was my favorite stop in Scotland. The views are breathtaking. The cottage has everything you might need. Local was remote, which we wanted. The wifi and television worked great. I only wish I could have stayed longer!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - Fabulous cottage with everything we needed - comfortable clean and a view to die for
