• WANGYAL (10/5): - Its at a very good location & the breakfast is always tasty. The person at the restaurant was very nice .Such kind of hospitality we should have. Just maybe the noise of vehicles if ur at the roadside rooms...but that comes with the comfort of roadside hotels.

The staff was always helpful and quick to respond whenever I needed assistance—special thanks to one gentleman who was especially supportive, though I didn’t catch his name. While the dinner was fine, I didn’t enjoy the breakfast as much since I come from a Buddhist family and prefer non-veg options. The hotel seems more suited for pure vegetarians. The overall experience and other facilities were great, and I would love to visit again. Thank you! Breakfast

Parking available 1) light gone for 1 night..so problem of electricity 2) Room size was big but not so much clean 3) totally a veg restaurant and it's so expensive (not recommended)

• Ryan (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good, staff was very helpful 1) Wifi did not work on the 3rd floor 2) Water heater did not work on the 3rd floor room allocated to us. When we called housekeeping, they said due to the cold weather, hot water comes for just 5 minutes and we had to give a gap for 15 minutes. We had booked 5 other rooms and the water heater was working in all other rooms. They changed our room the next day and the water heater was working in that room 3) They charge 300 Rs per night for a small portable heater to keep the room warm 4) We booked the most expensive room and was given a room smaller than other rooms. When we complained they moved us to a bigger room

The staff needs some training, at least basic on how to communicate with guests, need to first call the guest and check if they want to do some maintenance work, I received a knock on the door and four men wanted to come in the room to fix the problem with the intercom, these needs to be done when guests are not in the room, not a comfortable feeling, they wanted to come in even after denying them, at last I had to be but firm to communicate that i was not okay with it. Unacceptable. The hotel occupancy seemed low still the room provided was towards the highway side and could not sleep the whole time due to the noise of the vehicles plying on the road. There are so many properties in and around the city at similar rates with better location and proper trained staff.

• Shrivastava (2/5): Unpleasant Stay - Avoid if you can - Lobby only Cleanliness - Rooms are not that clean as displayed in pics Food - pathetic - don’t even think about dine in Breakfast which is included in the cost is not worth it - tasteless food - chilly paneer - pathetic, manchow soup - felt like salty water, lemon coriander soup - bad, basically they don’t know what taste means. Could have used knorr soup - could have been a face saver for them. Service and hospitality - not good, I shifted to another hotel after 2 nights and got much standard 3 star service and hospitality in less price which I paid here. It’s not even a 2 star hotel. FYI (Important) - my child was sick and vomit while he was sleeping at 2 AM. Contacted the reception - reply was - Sir aap bataiye abhi main kya kar sakta hun, I can’t even change the bed sheets and clean the room as room service and laundry people are not there. Told him some one needs to clean the room so and change the bed sheets else we will not be able to sleep at night. Reply - nothing can be done at this point of time. Person from reception said he can give me bed-sheet from other room and I will need to clean the room change bed-sheet. Asked if there is any other room which I can use so that I can at-least sleep and take care of my child - he gave me a room - thankfully. I cleaned the room floor with the same bed-sheet and kept the bed sheet in bathroom and shifted to new room just for sleeping at 3 AM and returned to my room at 7:30 AM. To my surprise - I was charged 1500 INR (50% of normal room charge for which I resisted a lot as 1. I was left on my own at time of medical crisis without any support from hotel staff (there was no staff at night. Hotel manger in morning said ours is not a 24 hour hotel :) Also said that I abused the staff at night 😊 asked to get the person in front of me who said that I used abusive words - as expected no response. Finally paid 1000 INR extra. All in all not a pleasant stay at all.

All other restaurants staff we're very rude.The restaurants doesn't have cool drinks and basic thing's like curd and brininjals what ever We order from their menu card they say not available.The front office guys say go outside and get cool drinks and Curd from outside. Very slow service.

• Salika (8/5): Comfortable Stay in Gangtok - Hotel Golden Crest provides good facilities to give a comfortable stay along with homely foods. The staff are very cooperative especially Vikas , Munna & Dinesh as they are always ready to assist you. Dinesh helped in arranging and providing cab for local tour. The location is nearby MG road and gives a pleasant view of the Mountains Highly recommended for your stay in Gangtok..

• Kunal (2/5): Avoid. Worst hotel in Gangtok I have stayed in 32 years - Nothing We asked for a hotel room with Balcony. Booking.com listed this hotel at the top. Nk balcony. No internet in our floor. No telephone in our room. Vegetarian restaurant which was not explicit. Bottled water not sold despite entire Gangtok selling it. Terrible breakfast.

• Vishal (9/5): Beautiful - The hotel staff is very friendly and ready to help. The hotel room is comfortable and clean. The view is nice from the room if you get upper floors. The hotel is about 2.5 km from MG Road market which according to me is walkable but you can easily get a taxi for 50 bucks a person. So it's neither in a very crowded location nor is it too far from the centre. Overall a good experience and I would love to stay there again. NA

• Tenzing (6/5): Pleasant - The room was spacious and very good The blanket had ciggrate burnt holes , they charged us for dome stain marks on the linen and i admit my partner had her period and some blood stains were there but till now i have stayed at so many hotels and was never made to pay for this. Breakfast was not good only thing which was tasty was the vegetables (potatoes) for the price of 650 it was not even close to worth it .

• I (3/5): Poor Facilities and Location - far better hotels nearby - I paid for Premium Mountain View room (404 and 403) The staff (Munna and Vikas) were helpful and excellent. The kitchen also rustled up decent food. The rooms were spacious. Apart from that everything was poor. Several things: first location of the hotel is way down in Gangtok. If your budget stretches a bit you will get far better hotels such as Udaan Woodberry higher up the mountain. Udaan is not in Booking.com. The rooms were not clean, lights didn't function and request for extra towels and an extra cot were not met. The AC didnt work either.
• I (3/5): Poor facilities and location - Only saving grace - the staff was very helpful and good and the kitchen was decent. This hotel was hugely disappointing both in terms of location and basic facilities. I booked the Premium Mountain View room. The AC didnt work, the wifi on our floor didnt work, they didnt provide face towels or floor towels, bathroom lights flickered on and off. The toilet spray was broken replaced by a dirty one (see pic below). The location is way down in Gangtok. There are far better hotels higher up in Gangtok at similar prices.

The veg restaurant offers many options and the quality of food was also good 1. The lift is small and old 2. MG Marg is about 3 KMs away and one has to take a cab from the hotel to reach MG Marg 3. Car parking is too small.
