- mark (9/5): Great location to access Alnwick castle and garden, and high street. - Warm welcome when checking in, and room was spotless. Location was within 10 minutes walk of Alnwick town centre which we appreciated. Had evening meal in bar, good selection of food and generous portion size. N/A
- Georgia (10/5): Gorgeous hotel. - The rooms were lovely, staff were friendly and polite and it was lovely and clean. The only thing I can say was the bar wasn’t open late. Apart from that it was gorgeous.

- Paul (5/5): - There was some machinery in the hotel that started up at 6am and gave a noticeable background him all day.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Loved it. - Very clean and comfortable slept like a baby. I would definitely stay here again. Staff helpful and approachable. Comfy beds with everything you need for an overnight stay.

- Lynda (9/5): - Very friendly and high quality accommodation. Unpredictable WiFi and TV reception.
- Graham (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Comfortable and friendly. - Friendly and helpful staff, car parking good, room clean and practical. Meals good but pretty basic menus. Looked like a little freshening up decoration-wise might be good.
- Alex (8/5): -
- Bufkino (8/5): - The staff were lovely.
- marie (7/5): Great location with easy access to Anwick. Cooked breakfast awful, yet this place is reasonable val - We had a family room on ground floor in annex. Really spacious and nice decor and dog friendly. Breakfast was terrible- we tried different things each morning - but it was all a huge disappointment.
Had a room above us so were woken up at the crack of dawn each morning to occupants wandering about.

- William (8/5): Comfortable stay a short walk from the centre of Alnwick and the castle. Good value overall. - Comfortable, clean and well equipped.
Good breakfast, cooked to order with friendly staff. Main road noise outside.
- John (8/5): - Location and breakfast 😋 I had to move rooms due to noise from kitchen

- Richard (10/5): - The family room was massive, plenty of room for a family of 4. Big hearty breakfast each morning, nice little walk into town, staff were always happy and cheerfully, food was great,
- Susan (10/5): Excellent! Hope we can make another visit to The Oaks HOtel. Location was perfect. - Great Breakfast Stairs
- Joanna (10/5): Excellent value for money. - All the staff were friendly and professional.
The room was exceptionally clean.
The evening meal was superb( good to have a tasty vegetarian meal on the menu)the cooked breakfast was delicious.
Parking on site.
Dog friendly. The only minor “nit pick”was the tinned and frozen fruit choice at breakfast.
- Ellen (7/5): Beautiful part of Northumberland with a variety of gardens to visit in the area and the opportunity to spend a lovely d - The property was in an excellent location. We were able to walk into Alnwick easily. It was also only a short drive to the coast to visit Alnmouth,Banburgh and seahouses. The room we were in had only a small high up window so no view of outside.
- Ken (10/5): - We walked in to the hotel which we had just booked six hours earlier and received a great welcome. Staff attentive, room ideal, breakfast well crafted. Nothing
- louise (8/5): Great location! - The location was brilliant- literally a short walk to Alnwick Town centre and perfect for going out sight seeing generally. Staff were really nice & helpful, and a nice breakfast on offer. The room was nice & comfortable but housekeeping was a bit lax - the carpet had mud on it and there were a few cobwebs around. That said, it didn’t spoil our stay as everything else was really nice!
- Caroline (7/5): Not happy - We booked two double rooms for 4 people for 3 nights. This is the info Booking.com request when looking for accommodation. However, on arrival at the Hotel we were told that they had only two guests booked in staying in the two double rooms. This does not make sense, why would we request 2 rooms for 2 people?
The upshot was that we had to pay an additional £90.00 to cover the extra guests. We were not impressed and even less so when it seems impossible to contact Booking.com to reclaim this amount due to their error.
I would appreciate some contact from them regarding this matter. Being charged again when we had already paid.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Walking distance from town centre a little daunting at first but became familiarised. Stay wascomfor - Breakfast excellent.
Accommodation in separate but adjacent, ground-floor building excellent. Lighting throughout hotel poor - needs updating.
- susan (10/5): Almost perfect - get what you pay for - and this was good - Everything- location - food - nice spacious room - car park Would need to be really critical to find something

- mark (10/5): More than adequate accommodation and great value for money on all aspects. - Very comfortable spacious well equiped room. Great value for money . Smart tv which is a necessity nowadays but not always provided.
Breakfast was really nice and plentiful with a great selection of both continental and traditional cooked.
Staff were great and a credit to the hotel. Have no faults as such. Only thing I could pick up on was the power sockets were to far away from the table where the kettle and condiments were. Only way to heat the kettle was from the floor which wasn't ideal. A more suitable plug socket near the kettle would solve this. Other than that everything was more than adequate for my stay
- Jane (7/5): -
- Beatriz (9/5): - Comfortable, and had parking Very noisy
- Nicola (9/5): Friendly and helpful staff - It was easy to walk into Alnwick snd visit castle and gardens without having to use my car . The fact my room was above the kitchen so was aware of noise .
- David (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay and will stay again if in the area - Very convenient location. Short walk to town centre with onsite parking. Also well situated to tour around Northumbria.
- Karen (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Comfy family friendly and dog friendly inexpensive hotel with great food and comfy beds - Had a really good night's sleep every night and excellent breakfasts. Bar and dining were comfortable and relaxed and everything you need. Food is excellent and competitively priced.
Very helpful cheery staff who took care of any extra needs.
The hotel also has a beer garden patio area which was nice for sitting out in the sun one evening.
Walking distance from Alnwick town centre - and 5 minutes from Barter's books. 15 minutes from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Nothing to report

- Moira (7/5): A pleasant, dog friendly inn with good, freshly prepared food. - A good location to stop over on our way back to London from Scotland. Food was very good and freshly prepared. Would like to be warned about early closing of restaurant on bank holiday.

- KATIE (9/5): Perfect cosy small hotel with amazing food and staff! - Great central location within walking distance of local attractions such as the town, Alnwick castle and gardens. Comfortable, cosy pub atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. Made to feel welcome and the breakfast and meals were excellent! Large portions and popular Sunday roasts. Room had tea / coffee making facilities and biscuits. Comfortable, clean and spacious with TV and wifi. Perfect stay. Thank you. Would highly recommend.

- Metcalfe (9/5): Good room and location with pleasant staff. Can readily walk into town and has parking. - Room was good, travelling with my son so twin room, good sized bathroom. Breakfast was hearty with a decent choice of options. Good for access to the town, it is a walk downhill and uphill back, walk passes Barter Books, Alnwick is very pleasant, the castle worth a visit, decent choice of restaurants and bars, the road network (A1) and coast is accessible without going through the town, we were able to park easily. The bar closes early, when the last punters leave, but that is likely due to a change in pub-going generally.
- Hayley (7/5): - Clean, comfortable and warm.
Good location, short walk from Barter's bookshop and about 15 mins walk to town centre. Breakfast is only served until 9 am.
Road noise.
- Catriona (9/5): A very good stay, on the whole. - The room was spacious and comfortable
The bathroom was roomy and the shower was excellent
The breakfast was very good
The central location, a short walk to town centre.
The staff were very friendly and helpful Some reservations about the food.
Crispy pork was definitely NOT crispy
The power in the room went on and off intermittently, though only briefly
- MARY (7/5): Enjoyed our stay, staff excellent - Quaint nice traditional bar and restaurant.
Nice bed Some minor improvements like a handrail in bath with shower, better lighting for reading.
Windows that were able to open

- tom (8/5): Pleasant stay with a clean room and adequate facilities - Plenty of parking available. The room was clean and had an electric shower over the bath. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful. Short walk into Alnwick Nothing
- Lorna (8/5): -
- JoëlleS. (9/5): Good stay - Very nice hotel, big room and big breakfast. Can recommend it for a stay in Alnwick! Take your ear plugs, as the rooms are not soundproof.
- William (8/5): - Great Staff and good accommodation. All Good.
- Tyndall (10/5): - Perfect location. Full of character and friendly staff. All the facilities I needed.
- Michael (8/5): Alnwick Great Value Hotel - Staff friendly and not far from town
Good GF breakfast options Breakfast sausages not good
- Alison (8/5): -
- Mike (8/5): -
- Paula (10/5): -
- Dale (7/5): Comfortable Break - Location Breakfast could have been better, I asked for porridge and what arrived was not porridge and it appeared to be in condensed milk?
- Jan (9/5): Great stay - Room was so inviting and relaxing after a long drive. Staff very helpful and the cooked breakfast I opted for was amazing. Bath was quite high to climb into, and slippery tho the non slip mat proved very useful.
- onlyustwo (9/5): - Ample choice of food for breakfast - even the dog was given something! Had dinner in the bar on both evenings. Menu was slightly different for Saturday and Sunday to give choice.
- Richard (9/5): - All good My room was noisy from ??
- Margo (8/5): - Hotel was nice and clean however communal areas were a little tired this is due to the fact its a pub Our room was above the kitchen extractor fan so when window was open or bathroom fan was on the room had a cooking smell
- Jacob (10/5): -
- Trevor Higgs Service (8/5): A great place to stay, excellent value for money. - A nice place to stay, on site free parking.
The rooms are a good size and they are clean. The wifi works well in all areas.
Nice bar and restaurant on site, and very reasonable prices. The staff are very good, and take time to look after you.
The breakfast is great. It is a Pub, so a little noise until closing time.
- Judith (9/5): An excellent stay will be my hotel of choice on my next Alnwick visit. - The budget single room it certainly was not, rather a spacious lovely room with a good sized shower. With every amenity. The evening meal was lovely and breakfast was very, very good. Amazing value for money. A bit of a walk from the bus station however, a little more knowledge will reveal that the bus stops much nearer.
- Michael (10/5): A very pleasant surprise - Absolutely lovely hotel would thoroughly recommend... Nothing
- Tony (8/5): -
- matthew (10/5): Extremely comfortable, impeccably clean, friendly staff And extremely dog friendly! - Staff we all really friendly, lovely big room which considering was a dog friendly room was absolutely immaculate! We loved the added touches with the dog blankets, water bowl and poo bags this was a really thoughtful touch. Breakfast was nice we are both vegan and managed to have a very enjoyable breakfast and milk alternatives were available. The only thing and a very small thing. The room was extremely hot and there didn’t seem to be a thermostat to turn any heating down. Opening the windows was fine after midnight when the traffic had calmed down and a fan was available in the room which was great. This didn’t impact our stay in anyway it was just a very small thing I took notice of.
- Melissa (7/5): -
