Guest Reviews
- Frank (10/5): - Convenient location for exploring the area. Excellent price. Very good continental breakfast. Thanks Paula.
- Sarah (10/5): - Absolutely great location and wonderful host! I would thoroughly recommend.
- Joanne (4/5): - Host was very friendly but unfortunately property was in need of updating. Breakfast listed as being continental was very limited
- Donna (10/5): - Ideal for a stop over, owner wasovely and friendly...
- michael (10/5): - Lovely quiet location. Host was very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Shower/bath a bit hard to manoeuvre.
- Rachel (8/5): - Fabulous place to stay with a dog .
Massive exercise field
Beds are super comfy too
- Carmen (10/5): Excellent value, comfort and cleanliness - Hostess was there to great us, she is a lovely lady and very pet friendly. Opened up breakfast just for us, both mornings, plenty to eat and option to have cooked breakfast, for a charge, if wanted. Room was lovely, double bed and single bed, very comfortable and spacious. No complaints at all!
- Angela (8/5): - Location
- Susan (6/5): Warm and welcoming - Firstly, let me say, our host was fabulous. Very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late due to traffic and host was waiting, checking us in very swiftly. Rooms anre in a converted stable block. Our family room was spacious with 2 single beds and a day bed. Bedding was clean and comfortable as was room. The divan bases were grubby. Day bed was very noisy. Squeaky when moving and not so comfy. Wet room was very good size however there was black mould around a lot of the floor and walls. Toilet seat needs replacing as is delaminating and while I have no doubt this was clean created a perception that it was not. Sink was cracked. Generally, a bit of tlc would do wonders. Rate is as extremely competitive and included a continental breakfast. Breakfast room was across the driveway. Very clean with cereal, toast, waffles etc. a bountiful offering to get
you started on your day. Coffee was lovely. Cooked breakfast was available at an additional charge which was good value for money. We would most definitely stay again.
- Damayanti (10/5): - Loved the family home.. Nice and quiet. Dogs are welcome. Massive garden for dog walk. Morning breakfast was really nice.
- Marie (8/5): - The property is unique; it's a converted barn building. The owner/host was very friendly! Breakfast option was great!
- Daniel (10/5): - We where down to look at a property nearby we Booked Barton gate farm because it was near to where we needed to be for a few days, the farm is located just on the border of Cornwall and also just outside Holsworthy,
It’s in a ideal location away from the hustle and bustle so peace and quiet, the owner was extremely welcoming and really attentive to your needs, the room we had, room 7 was a really good size and a bed that you will literally melt into,
Continental breakfast is included in your stay but a full cooked breakfast is available for a small charge. I can’t recommend Barton Gate farm enough.

As an alternative to the Free Continental breakfast on offer. This is served in the Garden dining room.. I would highly reccommend Barton Gate Farm.
Thank you Paula. You made our stay pefect

- Michelle (8/5): Enjoyable stay and loved the animals - Great and friendly hosts, Julian was really helpful and friendly. Our daughter loved the dogs Yogi and Tinky. Beds were super comfy, did feel a little cool breeze during the night which sneaked through the door cracks. Only a continental breakfast is included but a big delicious cooked breakfast is available for £5. Had a great meal at The Rydon Inn which is only down the road. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Friendly & helpful owners
- adam (10/5): Lovely stay for 5 nights with great hosts - Very friendly and hospitable hosts who made us feel welcome and interested in our enjoyment of the stay. You are made to feel right at home and it does have a feel as if you have popped over to stay with friends rather than a cold business like set up. Jillian very kindly ran us to pick up our car from a wedding venue that we had attended the night before, Paula kindly ironed my shirt for the wedding. Great place for kids as they have various animals which they get to feed. Their dogs are very friendly pool table and table tennis also helps keeps the kids entertained.
i can recommend an upgrade to a cooked breakfast and if we get chance to go back will definitely try the scrambled eggs that I saw another guest enjoy, Rooms are clean and well furnished enough with everything you need, and if there was anything missing or not quite right I'm sure Julian and Paula would make sure it was resolved. for example a creaking bathroom door oiled and creak free the same day. Good location to base for days out around the area but you will need a car. Roads are not ideal for walking on. Their very polite son has a pet Bengal owl and took the time to bring it out for our daughter to see and hold which i thought was a nice touch.
