Guest Reviews
- Litto (5/5): - Room was really big Washroom was outside the room ( common bath and toilet for entire floor)
Parking is difficult when restaurant is open
Won't get much support as everyone is busy at Bar and restaurant
No one will respond for invoice request over email and tried to call couple of times & left message . Looks like now they block my number .
Not ideal for any business travellers

- anthony (8/5): - Staff were helpful and friendly.
- james (4/5): -
- Tina (10/5): Nice and friendly - Nice and clean
Very friendly staff
Great location
- Daniel (9/5): - Friendly staff, value for money was unreal No bathroom in the room, not a issue as very clean even for a shared bathroom
- Kalvin (3/5): A bed to sleep in don’t expect much more than that. - Nice friendly staff. Shower is located in the hallway of the hotel so no shower in your room.
The shower in the hallway didn’t work so we have to use the en suite to a double room down the hall.
We got 1 fresh towel at the end of our stay but only because I asked for it.
The rooms are not cleaned while you stay.
And the single bed was just springs with cloth over it.

- Geoff (8/5): - Large size rooms, nicely decorated. Lovely free coffee and biscuits daily. Very friendly and helpful staff. The windows in my room weren't locked. So I was cold the 1st night (Drafty) Until I realised the windows have an odd lock. After that I had no problems.
- ingleton (2/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Good - Nice friendly people Goo beer
- Christine (6/5): - The room was a large family room - a bit too big for one person, but the single bed was clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels and an added bonus of having it's own washhand basin, as the shared shower room (with toilet) was across the corridor. I couldn't use the coffee maker as there were no instructions, and no kettle to boil water. However there were plenty of milk sachets and biscuits!!
The room and facilities were very clean.
- Mark (5/5): -
- steve (6/5): Comfortable convienient and reasonable value, real ale bar below - Room was large and ensuite- deluxe room
Stayed before and will stay again for a bed for the night
- OMOTAYO (10/5): - Everything was fine.
- Martin (10/5): Basic Affordable and Welcoming. - Booked here for a trip to Nottingham (as prices in the City itself were prohibitive). Located by rail and tram stops, the Hotel was ideal for my purpose, and an affordable price. Welcoming and frienly staff. Excellent pub food with a great range of local ales on offer. Basic room and facilities suitable for my visit and fairly reflected in the price. I found the bed a little uncomfortable but thats probably just down to personal preferences, so all-in-all an excellent base for my stay.
- Matthew (10/5): - Brilliant friendly professional service thank you
- Reita (10/5): Excellent - Great clean comfortable
- Antony (10/5): Enjoyed the stay so much ive already booked for my next visit next year - Sorry didn't havethe breakfast, as was meeting friends in town Can't think of anything
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Richie (1/5): Bad -
- Julie (6/5): OK - Clean relatively quiet room, comfy bed. Location OK, convenient for my meeting but on noisy junction.
Tricky finding way down from top floor rooms as no 'way out' signs.
Wasn't told where the door was to open with a keypad after hours, fortunately staff still up when I returned.

- Sally (6/5): - Stayed in room 3! Radiator did not work. Was freezing all night! Even with the small plug in radiator hardly gave off heat!. the coffee machine spat out crap & not coffee. Also the double bed is broken left hand side by headboard & leg under bed is off!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I checked in at 2:30pm and was asked to check out by 9am on exit. I am used to 12noon checkout system.
- Shelly (10/5): Great place! - Huge room near to tram stop and hucknell itself
- Si (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (7/5): Good - So close to the tram and town , key to come and go
- Stephen (10/5): - Very good stay
- Jamie (3/5): Not very good, wouldn't advise or recommend staying there, - The food was good The room was not dirty but dated and in disrepair, the light above the sink was literally hanging off and 2 of the drawers had no bottom, 1 had the front halfway pushed in and damaged.
Loud music from the function rooms until after midnight, both nights with party guests running and screaming up and down stairs
- Paul (10/5): - Free parking. Slept well. Good shower. Friendly staff.
- Trevor (6/5): - Furnishings shabby for the price.
- Ellis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (1/5): horrific. - Absolutely disgusting room. So bad, I had to leave and pay for a premier inn 4 miles away it was literally impossible to stay there. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. everything
- Jeffery (9/5): Brilliant, great place to revisit. - So much of all I needed ! Bar shutting on time !
- Richards (7/5): Good -
- Dennis (6/5): Pleasant -
- Neil (8/5): Good for me but not posh - This is a pub with an incredible range of cask beers (10) mostly from the Lincoln Green Brewery. The 3 I try ed were excellent. The hotel (pub) has a faded grandeur feel and is basic. This suits me down to the ground. They do not do breakfast so we went to Tesco opposite which has a good cafe. The ensuite room was clean and tidy and met our needs well. It is up two flights of stairs though, no lift, and is a rabbit warren. Parking is on street. Overall I liked it but posh it is not.
- Neil (6/5): Friday Silc - Very big room however it was on the top floor and no lift
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Nice pub, good food friendly staff
- Matt (7/5): Good -
- Rita (8/5): - Nice place
- Michael (7/5): Good - Very comfy bed Stairs
- Anne (10/5): Love to stay at hotels with local history - The location was excellent since we have friends living nearby
The pub food was good and the trivia night was fun Nothing
- Yvonne (10/5): An absolute must - Absolutely beautiful old station hotel .
Crammed full of character.
The owners and staff are amazing
- Nathan (1/5): poor smelt strange staff unfriendly pillows like paper - nothing old fashioned very dated
- Kate (2/5): Cheap but would be better off in hostel. - Hotel definitely needs refurbishment. Communal areas look like a squat! Staff were lovely and did all that they could.
- Gareth (4/5): Disappointing - Cheap 9am check out.
- James (9/5): Great location - Lovely Staff and the locals were very friendly
Enjoyed a few pints over the few nights I was there. Upgraded to an ensuite as the bathroom was being painted. Nothing really.....it was what I needed it to be
- steve (10/5): - Good selection of beers and the food is very good def recommend very nice staff
- Alan (8/5): - A wonderful selection of ales. The menu was a bit basic, but very tasty. The room was comfortable, although could do with redecorating due to a water leak in the roof. Helen the bar maid was very friendly and helpful. On the whole, a pleasant trip.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Macclesfield (7/5): Good - Basic, clean and safe location. Pub onsite and staff friendly staff from start to finish. Checked in late (10pm) as travelled up in the evening. Staff were able to accomodate this. Fair price for the accomodation. Room was big and well kept.On street parking available in safe area. Was happy with price and accomodation 😊
- Dean (10/5): Great stay at the station - The station hotel bar areas where really nice up to date, clean and nice decor, outside area, near for when the weather is good, also do food, staff are really welcoming, polite and genuine, rooms are are large, tv w/c, could do with an update in decor id say, maybe en-suits in all rooms. But good rooms to stay over whilst working away and such. Found the kingsize bed very comfy, i would definitely stay again, good prices to.
- Davies (8/5): Very good -
- Garry (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The Bar was dirty with spilt beer,Tables dirty I had to ask staff to wipe them both & they didnt wipe the whole table just the bit in front of us.There wasnt many other people in.
The carpet was Black on the stairs to our room The accomodation was terrible, really cold, extension leads all over the place.Needed a whole revamp throughout, Honestly dont stay, unless you are really really desperate. Dont be drawn by the 4.3 rating or the pictures

- John (8/5): Would definitely stay again and try to make the quiz night too :-) - Very convenient lovely staff, very comfortable and great atmosphere in the pub Nothing
- Paul (9/5): The poor maintenance, and lack of any investment this century at the hotel is reminiscent of ‘Rising Damp’ (1970’s sit-c -
- Linda (8/5): Adequate - N/A Stairs were rather steep
- Kimberley (2/5): Would never stay again! - No hot water so couldn't have a shower

- Carol (4/5): Disappointing - The room was clean but cold and there was tea and coffee in the room. The carpets to the rooms was filthy. There were 3 flights of stairs and no lift. There were no direction signs between the ground floor and the top floor. Staff were friendly but very blasé about the signage.
- Alan (8/5): Comfortable friendly and helpful stay . - The staff all nice, it’s fairly quiet at night handy for shops n metro . The stairs and struggle to park when pub busy .
- Adele (7/5): Would stay again as ideal for work - Comfortable bed, nice bar and good food, friendly staff. Nice selection of drinks Room was very basic and needs a bit of an update
Shared bathroom
- Peter8887 (4/5): Really good for the location. I'd expect more for the price. Would stay again if I had to. - The bedroom was sizeable. The hotel is right next to Tram Stop. Hot water was very hot. Room was right temperature, not cold not too warm. Clean despite the aged dowdy appearance. Bedroom facilities basic but functional, no surfaces to place your own stuff on. Shower room was shared but the door latch did not work, door handle unmovable. The door lock only just caught under the hoop that would stop it being opened from the outside. So confidence in privacy was waning. Shower unit fairly new but on the small side. Shower room flooring old, damaged and not replaced yet. Hand basin, mirror, toilette were functional, clean but aged. On street parking, there's no private parking. Carpets all the way up the stairs and landings are old and warn, got that aged aroma (not an obnoxious smell, just aged).
- Michael (1/5): Bad -
- Tracey (5/5): Ok for what I needed - Easy 24 hour access Needs a spruce
- Sharon (7/5): Staff are the best !! - Morgan always has a smile to greet you and makes you feel comfortable. Always very helpful .
Amanda the cleaner also friendly and does a super job with the cleaning
Food is great but would also like to see options for smaller meals paying nearly £15 and can only eat half
Fine if your going there for a meal but when travelling not always that hungry,
Great location for Hucknall train station .
Easy walk to Tesco and a couple of fast food places.
I've stayed there a few times since May 2022 as its convenient for the people collecting me as they only live 10 mins away. Very outdated.
Shared bathroom
No hair dryer
Not being able to take my case upstairs as I always travel with a heavy case.
Shouldn't be £50 a night for a shared bathroom 🙄
- Smith (8/5): You have a very warm welcome, your staff are very pleasant and very approachable - Room a facilities were clean and comfortable The stair carpet leading up to the room from the function room up to the rooms is in need of a good clean or replacing it really let's you down, I have stayed on numerous occasions and really like your location and facilities if you get the carpet sorted it will make all the difference,
- Taran (10/5): - Nice pub, warm and welcoming feeling.
- Ranald (7/5): Good -
