Guest Reviews
- komarick (2/5): One of the worst hotel stays - The Minzifa Hotel listing is confusing and misleading. There are actually two different properties: the main Minzifa Hotel and a separate Minzifa Inn located nearby. The latter doesn't have their own address on Google and all bookings for the Minzifa Inn are handled by the Minzifa Boutique Hotel which is why I am posting the review on the hotel page. This distinction is not made clear on the website or booking platforms, and the confirmation email only briefly notes the Inn in small font while displaying the main hotel’s name and photos.
The Minzifa Inn offers a much lower standard than the main hotel and more close to a hostel than the hotel. The facilities and cleanliness were below expectations — our room had visible dust, towels were stored in a shared area, and the courtyard contained building materials reflecting ongoing construction. We also had to have curtains on all the time as people from the neighborhood could see our room. The Minzifa inn property did not have a reception area and main entrance was lacking a lock which significantly impacts the security. Payment was also cash only at the inn despite the advertiser card payment. However, the breakfast for travelers staying at Minzifa Inn is served in the same area as the breakfast for Minzifa Boutique Hotel.
After posting a factual review highlighting the above discrepancies, the owners confronted us in person multiple times, and demanded we remove the review, and threatened to evict us at 6 p.m. if we refused taking the review down. They also offered free services in exchange for a better review. This behavior raises questions about the authenticity of many positive reviews and about the guests safety.
Travelers should be aware that the two Minzifa properties differ significantly in quality. There are more transparent and better-managed accommodation options available in Bukhara.
- Damien (4/5): - Be aware that the Minzifa Inn is not in the scenic Minzifa Boutique Hotel, but in another building. The rooms at the Inn are basic, and the cleanliness is not ideal. However, breakfast at the Boutique Hotel is very good.
- Anna (10/5): Уютное место в центре Бухары - Очень красивый дворик , хороший сервис . Комната просторная со всем необходимым. Завтрак вкусный . Все понравилось , спасибо ! -
- Joanna (8/5): Tania alternatywa hotelu Minzifa Boutique pozwalająca w pełni korzystać z jego udogodnień i klimatu. - Możliwość korzystania z udogodnień Minzifa Boutique Hotel.
Pomoc personelu w sytuacji kryzysowej. Hotel Minzifa Inn pozostaje niestety w tyle za obiektem macierzystym
- Lee (10/5): - Amazing breakfast and location, beautifully decorated room. Staff was so helpful!
- s (8/5): - ホテルはとても清潔で過ごしやすかったです。また、スタッフもとても親切で快適でした
- Soufiane (10/5): -
- Diana_from_Baku (10/5): Amazing experience from start to finish! - Amazing experience from start to finish! Worth writing about and be grateful for my quick 2 day trip in Uzbekistan!
This hotel was recommended as a top hotel on other social platforms and I booked it with no further advice or knowledge. Even prior to arrival I was able to easily connect with hotel staff and get airport transfer as well as agree on necessary personal accommodations. Upon arrival, smooth and fast check-in, clean and spacious room, variety of foods to choose from during breakfast, overall atmosphere of calmness and peacefulness leading to an amazing sleep experience (this is an historic structure, previous madrasa place). Hotel staff recommended tours/guides in Bukhara and the area, transfer back to airport, and advised me on any other personal requests I came up with during my 2-night stay.
Thank you again for everything and I hope to see you sometime again in the future!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, spacious room, comfortable stay! - Conveniently located within a 10 min walk from the center of the old town. Very spacious room and bathroom. The breakfast was good and had plenty of options. Most of all, the staffers working the reception were all really friendly and helpful!
- Shaffaf (8/5): Very good -
- Romain (7/5): It's "ok" - Clean, well located, good size, comfortable bed It was "ok"
On the pictures some rooms look stunning, but mine wasn't like that, but that's ok. The curtains don't cover the window entirely with the sun coming in, but that's ok. On booking.com the location is 5min from the actual hotel and nobody replied to my messages, but it's ok. When I entered my room someone was in it, so I just got a different room, it's ok. Breakfast was ok. To pay I was offered card or cash, but card didn't work, and the staff didn't have change for the cash so I had to wait 10min, that's ok.
So basically this place is fine, but priced at $45/night it's roughly double what I've paid elsewhere in Bukhara and in the last 2 weeks in central Asia. For that price I didn't get the personal touch of a guest house, nor did I get the frictionless experience of a nice hotel.
It has potential, but not fulfilled yet.
- Livio (9/5): Superb -
- Mark Ceazar (10/5): - Accessible to the tourist spots and clean
- Jean (10/5): - Excellent staff, close to everything. Beautiful place.
- Feroz (8/5): - Very friendly staff and easily accessible to shopp
Cetral to shopping and easy walkabouts.
Good choice of breakfast menus.
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Dumitru (8/5): Very good - The room was clean and welcoming, we received water, slippers and dental kit. Untrained staff, did not know how to use the POS.
In the evening they told us that we would receive a breakfast box because we were leaving very early, but the next day no one knew anything.
- Prapasri (9/5): Great location - Good location. Great breakfast
A bit on expensive side compared to our hotels in Khiva and Samarkand No reception at the "inn". Should have told us beforehand that we should check in at "hotel"
Staff can speak English but could not help in terms of recommendations about places to eat or tours
- Laura (8/5): Perfect location - Friendly staff. Always tried to find a solution.
Perfect location. Quiet.
- Rajameenakshi (9/5): Amazing staff and amazing stay - Great location and great comfortable place to stay
- Alexandra (6/5): Minzifa Inn is overpriced for what they provide. For this price you could find better options in the same area. - The location is great, the breakfast is amazing and the garden to sit in. Minzifa Inn doesn’t meet the requirements of the **** hotel as it shows in google, so it’s quite confusing. Also it’s not clear that Minzifa Inn isn’t the Minzifa boutique hotel, especially if you check the hotel through google.
- Mubin (5/5): Dusty. Could be lovely. - It has a lovely courtyard in the main property - the sister hotel. Levels of cleanliness in the room were poor. Lots of dust, even after asking five times for the room to be cleaned. Dusty wardrobe, dusty ledges, carpet not vacuumed. Bathroom in need of modernisation, with grouting discoloured. Window looked out into corrugated shed roofs - not a room with a view. Customer service was wanting but improved later. 10% discount provided for state of room. Oddly stayed four nights but later was changed to three, despite paying for four (in cash).
- Norbert (7/5): Good -
- Adam (8/5): Very good - Delicious breakfast We were not informed well enough there was no card machine.
- Taylor (5/5): Staff helpful but it was not the experience we imagined when we booked - Convenient location Very disappointed to find we were booked into the uninspiring annexe building. There was no indication that Minzifa Inn is separate from the Minzifa Boutique Hotel & is indeed the same organisation but a very different feel.
Breakfasts offered a large selection but mainly of rather tired looking food.
- Saskia (8/5): Loved the breakfast buffet which was located across the street at the sister hotel. - Beautifully decorated room in the traditional Uzbek style. The walk up the spiral staircase.
- Andreas (7/5): Good - Friendly staff and good location, rooms comfortable and clean (considering the price) Breakfast is mediocre and not good organised. There are to hotels opposite - the Minfiza Inn and the Minfiza Boutique Hotel. The later is better but the pictures for the Minfiza Inn are somewhat misleading so we booked accidentally the Minfiza Inn although we aimed for the Boutique Hotel. So look twice.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and many breakfast option
- Aaron (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at minzifa - Very nice staff, hotel very confortable, good location No problem. All very good
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Margarita (8/5): I will recommend this hotel - Breakfast was very nice
- Cruz (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (7/5): Good - Good amenities (shampoo, soap, tea, kettle, adaptor, tv, hairdryer) and gorgeous decorations. Very spacious room. The aircon in one of our rooms took forever to get cold
- Karl (9/5): A homely stay :) - The room was extremely beautiful. It was extremely clean. The people are very very helpful and polite. The breakfast (included) was excellent. The air-conditioning could have been a bit more effective. At times it did not feel like it was on.
- Olga (9/5): Superb -
- Bipana (8/5): Very good -
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice location and the room was quite big with traditional uzbeq decorations.
Most of the staff is quite young, but very professional, helpful and english-proficient. Some improvements in the breakfast are needed - lack of re-stocking during breakfast time: one day at about 9 am some dishes/beverages were already empty and nobody did the refilling (no bread, milk, among others). After requesting, the staff slowly started to refill. But it still deserves a 10.
- Kate (9/5): The location, breakfast and staff were excellent! - Excellent location, in the narrow quiet streets. Away from the crowds but short walking distance to everything. Peaceful courtyard to have tea and relax. Tea and coffee was always available. Staff was especially friendly and helpful with helping us make onward arrangements. All were knowledgeable and easy to communicate with in English. Much appreciated! Nothing, all was good.
- Syed (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing specially person at the reception named Devor.
He was very extremely helpful when I asked him for help specially his knowledge of the Bukhara places of interest.
He provided detailed information and guidance to visit all these places which made my time in Bukhara very pleasant and easy.
Thank you Devor for all your help. Nothing.
- Chris (9/5): We could't have asked for more. Very good value. - A beautiful place to stay in what looked like an ex-madrasa. Comfortable bed, good bathroom with thick towels. Aircon, good wifi. Good breakfast in attractive dining room. Very central.
- Acert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Artin (10/5): Excellent stay in a lovely hotel! - I had a wonderful stay at Minzifa Inn. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff are lovely, the breakfast is delicious and the rooms are spacious and have all the amenities one might need. The location is also great for visiting all of Bukhara's top sights. Nothing - the stay was excellent.
- Tim (8/5): Wonderful and quiet hotel - Wonderful hotel, super quiet ambiance and atmosphere. Beautiful courtyard. They gave me free tea. No possibility to pay by card.
- D6238ZJpeterm (10/5): Beautifully decorated rooms in the heart of Bukhara - Highly recommend staying here. The staff were so helpful and professional. The breakfast is very good, filling, and inside plenty of comfy sitting on a cold winter day. The inn is also very close to the main attractions in Bukhara and just a few minutes walk from many good restaurants. The rooms are also the most beautiful in any of the places I’ve stayed so far in Central Asia. Love this place!
- usamah (10/5): - The place had a unique character, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Walking distance to all old Town attractions.
- Veronika (8/5): Very good -
- Dudheria (8/5): Very good -
- Sunanda (10/5): Exceptional - Over all good place.
- Brij (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexine (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is the best we have experienced in Uzbekistan!
- the staff is amazing: very welcoming, extremely attentive and speak perfect English.
- we stayed in the "inn" property, which is 50m
away from the sister property (boutique hotel): the rooms are brand new, very quiet and clean. We could still access the boutique hotel (beautiful wood carvings), including for breakfast.
- we used their laundry service too, all good and quick. They let us stay in the living room since we had a late train - which was much appreciated.
- strongly recommended when staying in Bukhara!! - /
- Bertie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hansle (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was quiet large and had a lot of food variety. The courtyard is quiet and inviting. The staff went out of their way to care for me when I was sick with stomach issues. Nothing
- Cheng (7/5): Good - The staff were very friendly and helpful, good location, beautifully decorated room, and good buffet breakfast The water in our bathroom took over ten minutes to heat up and our aircon was very fidgety. Unfortunately, we were placed in a separate building to the main one without the lovely courtyard. The ambiance wasn’t as nice in our smaller building, but we could still access the courtyard across the road if we wanted to
- Felicia (10/5): It is a beautiful property with a lovely courtyard, not far from the old city centre. But the kindness and hospitality o - Beautiful property, helpful and kind staff, good breakfast.
- Daniel (10/5): I wish America had hotels like this - Absolutely everything - room, staff, value, breakfast, location was excellent Absolutely nothing - it’s a great place and would definitely stay here again
- Kenta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (9/5): Superb - breakfast was really great! the location in the backstreets is cute and also surprisingly convenient. minzifa inn is really new. they took some time (about 30+ minutes) to find me less than 20 USD worth of change (and I wasn’t insisting on getting back dollars), despite only accepting cash payments. I know 20 USD is good money in local currency, but even so, this was a bit baffling for a hospitality business.
- carlos (6/5): - I was sad not to stay in the main bulding but in another buiding where almost I didnt see anybody. I think that when i booked by hotels they should tell that they dont have space in the main bulding.
- Shuggy (10/5): Fine -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - terrific staff and delicious breakfast stuffy room with bad ventilation
- Bob (9/5): Good! - Great breakfast, kind staff, very close near the central tourist attractions Might want to consider Minzifa Boutique hotel for better atmosphere!
- Tonia (5/5): Annex building room was not worth the money, no hot water in morning, ok breakfast - Good location, main house is beautiful with a courtyard I was disappointed with my experience, especially after having such high expectations from the good reviews and recommendation by Caravanista. I booked this hotel after weeks of budget hostels as a treat for my last night, and for the price, you can find much better esp in this area. 1. Room was small and old in an annex building, which they don’t specify in the room listing, so you don’t get the ancient building feeling of the main courtyard - it’s essentially just a basic hotel room. 2. No hot water in the morning - forgivable at a hostel but not at this price here. 3. Can’t pay with credit card, cash only. 4. Breakfast starts at 7am but when I arrived at 7:15, there was no hot food other than sausages and no one servicing breakfast. I had to ask track down the nice boys at reception for eggs - they were nice and did their best, but it was clear breakfast was not ready for full service at 7:15, disappointing especially since I told them I had to depart at 7:30 and they assured me I could still have breakfast before then.
- Palle (8/5): excellent place to stay for your time in Bukhara - the history of the place and the fact that it is situated within working distance of the Old city. breakfast in What used to be a Madrassa. the Court yard takes you back in time. kind and as always great Uzbeki hospitality.
- Axel (10/5): A very good place - The bed is incredibly spacious. The toilet is superb, beautiful & perfect.
- danielmK7661FA (10/5): Great place to stay! - We staied 3 days 2 nights, the place is very well and smoothly run. Rooms are clean and beds really confortable, very quiet so good sleep. Right next to Mincifa Hotel where you can enjoy wonderful breakfast buffet....good staff attentive and profesional....just 4 minutes walking from Bukharas main square but also good chance to glimpse the real bukharans living style....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 清潔かつ可愛い部屋。
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nettes Personal, super Frühstück, saubere Zimmer. Einzig das WLAN könnte besser sein.
- 49elizabetha (10/5): Amazing Stay - Virtually same experience as Minzifa Boutique Hotel at less cost - We stayed two nights in the Minzifa Inn and one night in the Minzifa Boutique Hotel. All three nights were amazing. Full review here: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g303936-d664814-r587801674-Minzifa_Hotel-Bukhara_Bukhara_Province.html
We are surprised that there are so many negative comments about the Minzifa Inn. The rooms are still well decorated and cute, albeit not quite as carefully or intricately as the boutique hotel, and the cost is much lower for nights at the Inn. Guests of the Inn are located 100 feet from the Boutique Hotel. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend the Minzifa Inn to other travelers.
