J'ai beaucoup voyagé à travers le monde, j'ai très rarement vu un petit déjeuner d'une telle qualité.
• Anthony (10/5): - Freddy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The breakfast that was included was delicious. He also gave us plenty of help planning our trip through Monteverde. There is a lot of noise from cars and motorcycles, but any hotel close to town will be the same. It was worth it for us because we were able to walk to town in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Freddys Place to anyone staying in the Monteverde region.

• Christopher (10/5): - I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed my stay(s). I actually spent one night there and then the next night out in the forest and then was back there again on the third night. Freddy was extremely hospitable and service oriented. He even allowed me to keep my bag in the room and allowed me to hang on to the key during that middle night when I was not there. He helped me get oriented to the area, made recommendations and really made excellent breakfasts. I definitely recommend his breakfast sandwich and his banana pancakes. The room was clean and modern and had everything I needed. I was very pleased with the accommodations and thought it was a nice place to stay and a good value and I certainly enjoyed the hospitality that Freddy provided.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great service, off the beaten path - Wonderful hospitality and service - very friendly staff. Off street parking was included as was tasty breakfast! Rooms were clean + comfortable (although due to timing there was construction going on early in the day). A bit of a walk to get to restaurants and things to do. Linens were ok quality.
• Christie (10/5): - Freddy was very friendly and accommodating. He was knowledgeable of the area and could answers any questions we had. The breakfast was awesome. You had a choice of about 6 different things, and Freddy prepared it with a gourmet style. I would definitely come back here.
• Erin (2/5): - First thing noticed was that the Lobby/Dining Room is not what is photoed on the website, it has plastic patio chairs, household items laying around. It is so noisy from dirt bikes, trucks and cars that you cannot sleep at night and also a screaming baby. The towels in the bathroom looked if they were used and refolded. I was booked for 4 nights and couldn't stay because of the conditions. I politely checked out at 11 AM. When I was asked why I was leaving early, I explained and the first thing said from Eddy was he cant do a refund it is too hard. I left and when i got settled in my new hotel, I contacted Expedia and then reached out to Eddy about a refund. He called me a liar and said that i didn't like the area, which wasn't true, that I wasn't getting a refund because I discredited his business. He said I slept through the breakfast, which i chose not to attend because if they refolded dirty towels you had to question the kitchen also. He said he checked on me 3 times and that i was sound asleep, when actually I was telling my family about the conditions and making new arrangements. I have never been treated so poorly and with such disrespect. I took pictures of the towels and Lobby/Dining area and happy to post as prove I am not a liar and Eddy runs a shoddy establishment.
• Peter (8/5): - Staff super friendly and extremely helpful in providing directions around the area. Breakfast was really good and made to order. The property is small but very functional with each room having its own outdoor sitting space. The only downside is there is no A/C and the room got hot at night because we had to close the sliding door in order to secure the room. Would have wanted a fan or a way to lock the sliding door partially open to allow airflow. Overall, a great location in the Monteverde area. For the price, I definitely recommend.
• Shareen (10/5): - Freddys Place is a family-run bed and breakfast. It is clean, safe and walkable to town. It isn't fancy, but it is a good, simple and clean place to stay. Freddy, the owner, is so helpful and kind! The breakfasts are made to order and exceptional!

• Ana (8/5): - It was small, simple family owned B&B. It is walking distance to downtown and the Wildlife refuge. The breakfast was excellent and they even brought it the room when I was feeling ill. They give great advice as to where to catch free shuttles to museums. They have the cheapest laundry service in the village. What the place lacks in areas (no closets, no hairdryer), they sure do make up for it friendliness and service. Note: they make continuous updates to make things more convenient and they love suggestions.
• Randy (10/5): - Eddys was a great place to stay and an incredible value for what they charge. Eddy and his family were so nice and the room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast they provide was amazing and the best we've had in our travels of the country! The location is really good and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. If in Monteverde be ready to climb hills as there's not a flat road in the area. Definitely visit Stellas for great food and baking and also Bon Appétit, which is right down the road. Great food and even better staff! Overall a great place to stay!

It had a nice personal and family feel to it. Also, the breakfast was amazing. It was a short walk to town with many options to dine and shop.

Only 10 minutes driving to Don Juan coffe tour Breakfast is amazing, we stayed 2 nights and tried different items and everything was delicious. the room was specious and clean. Eddy was very friendly and gave us lots of information on what to do in the area. Outstanding value for the price.

• sharon (8/5): Good budget option. Amazing free breakfast. - Good budget place to stay. Great location. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops. Bit of a steep walk back up from town but taxis are really cheap. Our problem was that it rained non stop for 2 of our 3 days here. It was impossible to dry anything due to the humidity and the room felt constantly damp. Even our clothes inside our luggage had to be aired when we got to our next destination. A fan in the room to keep the air moving would be helpful. Really good shower. The best thing about this place is the owner, Freddy, so helpful and will organise whatever you need. And a fabulous free breakfast. The best we have had in Costa Rica.

Leider mussten wir die erste Nacht ins Dachzimmer das war leider nicht so toll die anderen zwei Nächte waren wir wie gebucht in einem 3 Bett Zimmer das war supper. Preis leistung stimmt hier auf jedenfall. Frühstück war klein aber fein. Einbisschen abseitz vom Städtchen ca 7 Minuten zu Fuss.

• Danelle (6/5): Bring earplugs. - I was surprised to see such good reviews of this place. It was inexpensive, but for a reason. The walls were so thin I could hear every conversation happening in other rooms. At night I had to sleep with headphones on, playing music to drown out the other guests. Room was clean, so that's good. Service was very minimal, and breakfast was just ok. I would rather pay more to stay somewhere with better service and thicker walls.
• Rosie (8/5): Great little B&B close to town - I stayed here 1 night and it was great! The hotel staff is amazing - so helpful! The easily extended my checkout until 1pm and the checkin took 1 min. Shower was nice and hot, with good pressure. Although it didn't drain too well, little things like that are expected in CR. the breakfast was delicious and made to order - choice of banana pancakes, omelette or breakfast burrito. This comes w a fruit plate, juice and coffee/tea. All tours and shuttles pick up/drop off from here as well even though the location may not be listed on the booking websites-so don't let that deter you. You can also book tours at a discount thru the hotel if you pay cash. Great value for the hotel!

It was a short 5 minute walk into town. The breakfast was amazing, cooked fresh and served to you every morning with your choice of banana pancakes, omelette and toast or a breakfast burrito (and of course, coffee!). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the hospitality provided was exceptional and we would absolutely return!
