Guest Reviews
- Ayesha (9/5): Perfect Layover Location When Working - Quaint, neat and tidy, our staff loved the location
- Kerry (6/5): Staff are delightful but this was not a repeatable experience - Location for an overnight stay was good, the bed was comfortable The facilities are very old…the air conditioner was very noisy and tired. The shower was weak and either very hot or cold, hard to adjust. The meals we ordered (lamb shank and lamb chops) were very dry and overcooked.
- Julia Stone (10/5): Very clean and very nice stay. Felt very safe on the property. Thank you again! - Very secure property.
- Jaap (10/5): A Home from Home. - Was upgraded to French Karoo on arrival. Beautiful rooms. Very caring hosts. A gem in the Karoo and a real home from home. Try the Four Sheeps Restaurant for dinner. Best lamb shank ever!!
- Yvette (7/5): -

- Young (9/5): Would definitely visit again, our unit had everything we needed for our overnight stay - Very convenient and lovely guest house!
- Geldenhuys (9/5): -
- Keith (3/5): - The sleeping area was fine. The bed was comfortable and the bedside lamps etc worked well. There is a microwave and plates etc, but no table and one uncomfortable upright chair. So how does one eat? The room is small, but you could still fit a small table and 2 chairs in it. That would make all the difference between a functional room, and a non-functional one from an eating point of view. Or even a comfort point of view.
- Dean (10/5): - View out over the Karoo and quiet courtyard atmosphere
- Diseko (10/5): - Comfortable large bed, and very spacious room. The entrance goes through about 150m of gravel road
- John (9/5): Enjoyable and will be back. - Peaceful.
Clean.
Well equipped.
Professional and friendly staff. N/A
- Meg (8/5): - Very comfortable, beautiful setting and building. No wine glasses
- Nicolaas (10/5): Cannot wait to come back! - Historical Herbert Baker house. Can’t say there was anything not to like!
- Richard (9/5): - Freundlicher Empfang, schönes Zimmer und gutes Frühstück.
Die Lage Ausserhalb Beaufort West ist ruhig und schön.
- Louise (10/5): Oasis, wonderful rest place after long day on road! - Everything!
- Peter (10/5): -
- Swanepoel (8/5): Very relaxing - Very nice I expected more of the braaipack for the evening braai
- Gail (9/5): -
- Thomas (10/5): A peaceful, well‑run guest house with great service and a beautiful setting - Absolutely beautiful guest house. The units are spacious, comfortable, and set within a lovely garden filled with plenty of seating areas. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner on request, and there are even braai facilities available. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I was there for business, but I would gladly book it again for a holiday. There wasn’t anything I genuinely disliked. If I had to mention something, it would be the WiFi voucher system — you need a new voucher each day, and one per device, as each voucher is valid for 17 hours.
- Gary (10/5): perfect stop over - great location. easy in and out nothing
- Jansen van Rensburg (9/5): - We were late and asked to keep our food...I asked for the chops (which was nice) but they can really do better to presentation. It was a "blob" of mash and was not sure what kind of pumpkin it was.
- Etienne and Susan (10/5): - Lovely room! Beautiful gardens! I'm not a fan of rules everywhere... I suppose some people need to be reminded of etiquette.
- Geoff (7/5): -
- Nico (10/5): Ckean and friendly staff, the room even had a nice fragrance. - Location and layout

- Kevern (9/5): Will definitely be stopping there again. - It’s a really welcome and relaxing stop after the long hot drive through the Karoo. An oasis in the desert. Great sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Rooms were very comfortable. It was all good.
- Jager (6/5): Rommelig klein.

- Marinda (5/5): -
- Graeme (7/5): - We've always like the location of Cape Karoo and French Karoo guest-houses. The rooms are a little run down and appear to require some maintenance - both inside and out. The basin in the bathroom is tired and needs refurbishing or replacing. In a water scarce region, the hot water takes forever to arrive, wasting a lot of water in the process. The room rate is therefore not really appropriate.
- Gary (10/5): - Beautiful location on edge of Karoo . Stunning buildings Some more choice for breakfast would be better
- Gerrit (8/5): Great rooms, great location and very neat and comfortable. - N/a Dinner to be arranged at shorter notice and not only by 12 daily. Soap in batroom and not only lotions and gel. Still water bottle in room.

- Paulo (8/5): -
- Elme (7/5): Comfortable & neat room. - The room was comfortable and neat. Loved the large T.V. There was a funky smell in the room. For the price paid breakfast should be included, or atleast rusks and/or refreshments in the mini-fridge.
- Helouise (9/5): Beautiful, piece full - It was piece full after a long drive Beautiful
- Lizet (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay. After a long drive down, staying in such a clean, beautiful place with such nice staff was a real pleasure
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Aletta (9/5): It was very nice -
- Robyn-Lee (6/5): Abit unfortunate that we arrived late- and had to leave the property after driving 12hours to get food as there was noth - Clean Clean
- Andrew (9/5): Beautiful property, perfectly located. A great stop-over destination! - The property is very well located at the top end of Beaufort West and easy to access. It offers a beautiful garden oasis in the middle of the Karoo desert tastefully styled with French-inspired decor. We loved the fact that they could accommodate our family of 5 in a single room - a big bonus when travelling with 3 kids!
The breakfast offered a good selection of both hot and cold foods and was served promptly as arranged the night before.
We also enjoyed a 12% discount at the 4 Sheep restaurant which we used on the evening of our arrival.
There is decent WiFi and an access token was provided for each of us in our room which was great. Nothing, it really is a great place to break our long journey and stay for the night.

Wheat and Beetroot and chops for R270pp not worth it.
- Madeleine (10/5): - Great place, friendly staff The location
- Xeena (10/5): Very comfy stopover - The silence after driving 800 kms was very welcome. The lamb chop braai was excellent. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was large. Nothing
- Richard (8/5): Comfortable and Clean - Clean, quiet and helpful pleasant staff. Great for an overnight stay Only 2 tea bags, would have liked to have been able to have 2 cups of tea, morning and afternoon
