• Ray (5/5): Underwhelming stay - The rooms were simple but comfortable and clean. The lady helping on our second day was very friendly and helpful as was the gentleman we met. The welcome on the first day was not warm or informative at all, hardly any information given to us and it seemed rushed. I nearly had the gate close on my car as I was reversing out as we weren't told it closes automatically. The info file in the room had a name to contact highlighted if any challenges but no number to call. We didn't know the names of any of the staff as nobody introduced themselves. Generally a very disappointing welcome and the garden was very neglected as was the pool. Definitely not as advertised on booking.com

The ladies had left and the new owner wasn’t expecting me, there was however a clean room ready. The town was experiencing a water supply problem so there was no water until 2am. I also was not offered a hot beverage at breakfast.

Unfortunately you can hear the noise of guests in the room next door. Parking is awkward if you have a 4x4 and there are other cars parked.

• Susan (4/5): Disappointing - The breakfast was very disappointing. If you are not going to make an excellent meal, rather stop offering breakfast. There wasn't even jam to have with toast. I called ahead about what would happen during load shedding, and I was told there would be lights. The signage in the room stated that a generator would come on. The only light that I had when there was load shedding was the emergency light.

As we thought this may be a scam we called the venue and we’re told by another staff member there was a system issue. Shower was poor; did not have a shower head (even a water saving one).

• Lesley (6/5): Pleasant - There was a good choice for breakfast and even though I was the only guest for breakfast they still layed out everything. Coudn't make coffee due to loadshedding, but thats understandable, but a coffee plunger could have been used. The flip files in the bedrooms have old infomation from previous owners. When I called the cell number I was greated very grumpily and told that they had sold this B&B years ago and the owner still has not updated anything. Information that old is frustrating for the visitor indeed. The generator fumes were a bit annoying during loadshedding and the electric fence is touching a tree so this makes and awful noise during the night.
