- Zelda (9/5): -
- Suretta (6/5): Pleasant - The view from the chalet is beautiful! The interior of the chalet is in urgent need of refreshment.
- Colinlogie (8/5): Very good - Tub and view were great. No hiding the fact that it's dated
- Estelle (6/5): The view is stunning and with some maintenance this could be a really lovely resort and wedding venue, but for now it is - Well situated with stunning views and well kept gardens The bed was uncomfortable
The jacuzzi was not usable
The heated pool was luke warm
There was no wi-fi
- Annalien (7/5): Lovely but definitely need that attention to detail. - The apartment was very nice and we loved the jacuzzi and warm water indoor pool. A bit of attention to detail.. especially for the honeymoon suit. There’s candle holders but all candles were used. We didn’t think its necessary to bring as its a honeymoon suit. No champagne glasses, we had to use wine glasses and perhaps add a hairdryer to the room. We didn’t see the pamper goodies as mention on the web.
- Zu- (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elize (8/5): A short but relaxing stay - Spacious and quiet . Wonderful view of the lake. Interior is dated. No wi-fi in unit. Entrance directly along the N2 can be challenging to negotiate.
- Johnson (8/5): Very good - Maryna was very helpful ans contact by messages were timely. The views were peaceful and the visiting bird life was amazing. Accomodation was spacious and being able to look out over the lake great
- Billy (8/5): Very good -
- Jon (1/5): Bad -
- Lynda (9/5): Superb - Spacious accommodation and beautiful scenery. A place to unwind and relax.
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect honeymoon or couples retreat - Perfect peaceful hideaway. The sounds of nature all around you makes you feel like you’ve escaped to another world entirely. The pictures on the site don’t do the views justice. Very comfortable big chalet with all the needed amenities. I would of liked a shower but no other complaints
- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Vivian (9/5): Dec to Jan'25 vacation - Beautiful views of mountains and such peaceful environments. Fam enjoyed the stay .place is clean .indoor pool and games enjoyed by all🤩👌place much nicer than pics on bookings.com Wish pool was bigger
- Noluthando (8/5): Very good -
- Cindy (7/5): Good -
- Annemarie (7/5): Big unit perfect for self catering. Ensure to get all the room detaila before booking - Pretty view. Big unit. Heated communal pool. Bit outdated, management very helpful. According to the photos on Booking.com I expected something very different. One fan for the unit was definitely not enough. Our unit did not have an inside braai facility so we had to braai outside during the rain and used our beach umbrella to shelter from the rain. Management did ask if they could move us but by then we were all packed out. Perhaps disclose this BEFORE booking a unit for someone?
- Errol (5/5): Passable -
- Elaine (7/5): Cheerful with pretty surroundings - The owners are amazing, the location is beautiful. The fitting and finishings are visibly dated, things like a loose tap in the basin and hole in the bedroom door from an ineffective door stopper and a bathroom curtain yellow with age. The place could also use a good deep clean of curtains all round.
- Barendine (8/5): Very good -
- Gordon (10/5): Excellent location, spacious accommodation and helpful hosts -
- Suzan (7/5): It was a great stay and we enjoy the peace and quiet - I like the house it was a 6 sleeper there was ample of space. I liked that the fireplace is indoor close to the kitchen and lounge. The pool area was also a favourite. I enjoyed the privacy we could enjoy as a family. Parking is available close to the house which is great. There is no wifi in the house. Wifi will be great. On the tv only open view is available. I wish their could have Dstv or netflix it would be great to watch more movies on tv. I missed watching a variety of movies. Also a smaller pool for kiddies will be good. The house i stayed in alot of the tiles were cracked in the lounge aswell as the window in the main bedroom. The shower was spilling a lot of water as well as the tiolet does not fill up. Signage outside will help to find the place easier.
- Aboobaker (6/5): Average - View was good . Value for money Place needs an attention. Towels were old and not smelling fresh . Shower water was coming out in bedroom and black marks on tiles outdated shower head . Chalet had like damp smell windows not cleaned properly
- Neville (9/5): A very relaxing short holiday. - Tranquillity and natural surroundings. Francois and Maryna were excellent hosts. Cleaning maid could have made her appearance more often.
- Jared (8/5): Peaceful location, wonderful hosts and close proximity to neighboring amenities - The location, the views, the indoor braai and the decor. Certain maintenance issues
- Danny (8/5): Very pleasant stay! - Great Chalet overlooking lake! Large 2 bedrooms with lounge dining and kitchen and nice patio! About 10km outside of Sedgefield.
Security night light too bright for bedrooms!
- Megan (10/5): Heaven - The view was my most favorite part of the accomodation. I could sit for hours watching the lake and listening to the birds chirp. The heated pool was a great bonus. We would spend 3 hours in the entertainment area swimming playing pool and table tennis. The accomodation had everything we needed and was spacious and had so much light with all the windows. The braai area is indoors with a glass door allowing you to view the scenery so we were able to braai in the rain and still enjoy the view. It was so peaceful being there. Definitely a great stay if u want to get away from city life. Even though we were there 4 nights it was not enough. Next time we will definitely stay longer.
- Colin (7/5): Good -
- Jocelyn (8/5): Very good -
- Richards-bentley (8/5): Really enjoyed it! - The house was absolutely amazing and clean! I loved that we were able to bring our puppy along. I loved seeing the horse and being able to give him apples. The indoor pool was great and heated. I have no complaints at all. One thing I do wish was there was a little fenced off garden to make letting your pet out a bit easier and we would have to leash our puppy every time he needed the loo but other than that everything was great
- Wessel (9/5): Very nice accommodation with an excellent view - Very nice accommodation with an excellent view. Nice looking furniture and everything was clean and neat.
- Kim (9/5): Eagles Nest - Eagles Nest is really a beautiful place to wine down from the busy life. The unit was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the indoor heated pool and some indoor games for the family. The staff are helpful and friendly. I liked everything but wished there were more activities to keep smaller kids occupied closer to the unit.
- Este (8/5): Very good -
- Czarina (4/5): Disappointing -
- Este (10/5): We enjoyed the stay as always, will definitely recommend family members to come and visit. - There were no breakfast.
- Wayne (7/5): Good - understanding it is a self catering, but some basics like tea / coffee would be good additive
WiFi would make a big difference
- Tersia (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. - The view and location is from a story book. It is beautiful. I had to work and did not get time to explore the area
- Gert (8/5): Wonderful place to slow down and relax for few days. - Attentive staff who address issues timeously, ensuring a memorable stay for everyone, we rented two units and will definitely come back. Unit was located directly next to indoor swimming pool and entertainment area, large group with children was loud until 01h30 first night, reported to manager and matter was addressed where the pool area was closed at 22h00.
- Delmary (9/5): This is really a little gem. Worth the drive out and nothing tops the beautiful view you wake up to. Well worth the mone - Loved that it was secluded, the views was amazing. It was peaceful and quiet. The hosts was great accommodating and super friendly and gave us great tips of places to visit. First day there was a power outage but hostess was amazing and gave us regular updates and gave us hot water flasks and pancakes. We were totally surprised by this lovely gesture. The chalets could use some upgrading, like the mattresses a bit lumpy, the main bathroom bath shower combo could be made better and stronger flushable toilets. Wifi seems to be a problem, but we hardly spent enough time there to justify using electronics.
- Ronalda (8/5): Very good -
- Kroger (9/5): Enjoyable, we would have stayed longer if we could. Good value for money. - Stunning views. Friendly hosts. Awesome location. Heated pool. We enjoyed everything.
- Raina (5/5): Great host - but property review on description is required to not mislead potential guests - The location and potential of what could be offered on site. It's great a great holiday destination for older kids and adults, but not the best for toddlers or small kids during winter. regarding location, it's spot on, close enough to all the major activities amd spots you would want to visit on garden route. The description vs the reality of your booking do not align. This led to a booking done under false pretenses. Description and accuracy is important as it directly impacts the quality of your holiday, this was our case due to having small kids and what was said to be on offer was not the case. This is crucial when booking as a family with small children. Indoor play area is misleading, when the indoor play area are just 2 pool tables, table tennis and Foosball, not of which 'toddlers' can play with - so play area should be more specific This is just an example of how a play on words can affect your decision when making a booking. If we did not have a welcoming, kind host, our stay would have been a much different experience - non existent to be honest. Despite the shortfalls, Maryna was incredible and truly made the difference in our decision to stay and make the most of it. We ended up spending our days away from our accommodation and just used it as a sleeping spot, due to the shortfalls experienced.
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Olivier (9/5): Superb -
- Fawzia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justin (9/5): Superb - Quiet and relaxing atmosphere The double bed mattress needs replacing/ flipping over.
Tea/ Coffee station would be nice, even if this was at an added cost.
No Wi-Fi in the rooms.
The pool tables etc in the games room need repair (chipping off)- games room has deteriorated since we visited last.
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional - The location was phenomenal and exited especially the nature around the Eagles Nest. I liked everything about this place.
- Windvogel (7/5): Good -
- Ayathandwa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - It was so awesome, from the time we arrived, we received amazing treatment.
I am definitely coming here again.
As I want to stay in the chalet with the jacuzzi. That I couldn't stay longer to experience the breathtaking view in the morning.
Next time I will book in the room with the jacuzzi.
- Francois (9/5): Superb -
- Jaco (8/5): Gorgeous view - Beautiful place, amazing view and Jacuzzi. Did not have coffee or tea in the room
- Claudia (8/5): Very good -
- Eugene (8/5): Very good - The relaxing atmosphere.
- Colleen (4/5): The booking did not meet expectations. - The beds were comfortable and there was plenty hot water It was very rundown. The bush growth obstructed the views of the vlei. Horrible fire smell in the entrance. Images did not accurately represent the place. Plastic dining table and plastic chairs. The oven grill did not work. The plastic jug was broken. Bathroom curtains very dirty.
- Nizaam (8/5): Very good - The View The wifi that is only available in pool area
- Dale (8/5): Very good -
- Eugene (9/5): Superb - Everything None
- Orlando (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heidi (7/5): Good -
- Tom (6/5): Pleasant -
- Heather (9/5): really enjoyed our three nights, so quiet and comfortable, with fabulous views - the views were wonderful. the rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. the property was convenient for both Sedgefield and Wilderness. the showers/bathrooms were a little dated
- Tania (6/5): Pleasant - Location Carpets..need to modernize
- Grant (8/5): Very good -
- Brenden (9/5): Superb -
- Dimitri (9/5): Great value for money place to stay. - The place has an excellent view.
The pool is indoor and there are games for the kids to play inside.
Clean Park as well as a friendly horse at the property. WIFI, we had to sit around the pool area to be. connected to the WIFI.
- Mogabagaba (1/5): Bad -
- Aqeela (9/5): Amazing!!! - We loved almost everything about our stay including being surrounded by Nature and the indoor pool and games facilities. There is WiFi in the Communal games/entertainment area but not in the Unit itself.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (4/5): Affordable, available but it needs to be updated - Location and view was great No fans in the room , broken couch , really old furniture, broken bench at heated pool
- Barth (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, convenience, peaceful surroundings.
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Lindsay (7/5): A little mixed feelings - We loved the welcoming reception we received upon arrival and departure. The view was lovely and the chapel was charming. It was so peaceful and tranquil. Excellent location as its easy access to wilderness and sedgefield. It's a pity that there were so many flies.
The bathroom door kept falling off the hinges. The main bathroom only had a bath with a hand shower, which would ordinarily be okay for us, but the water only trickles out of the tap. All tap fittings were loose ( in kitchen and all bathrooms).
- Darren (7/5): Good - Amazing view. Friendly and helpful hosts. Useful covered braai space. Well equipped kitchen. Good location not too far from Knysna and near shops. Excellent value. We had a good stay and would return. Pool small and water murky. Public area was taken over by a very large visiting group with lots of kids and dogs off the leash and that is the only place with wifi. Poor mobile reception in the rooms.
- Olivier (8/5): Very good - A perfect venue for a family gathering including dogs. The beautiful chapel was an added bonus . We had a special service to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversary. With children and grandchildren we were quite a crowd. The play area kept the children busy while we adults could have quality time together. Beautiful scenery as well. A wonderful stay!
- Kershini (9/5): Relaxing stay at Eagles Nest - Very quiet place, suitable for rest and relaxation. Units were well spaced. Rooms were very large. Close to Sedgefield so easy access to shopping. Nothing
- Kagee (9/5): Relaxed - Location perfect Liked everything
- Vischal (7/5): We enjoyed the facilities on the property - The friendly staff and host. We loved the facilities and location of the property The bathroom doors did not completely close and also did not lock. The bedroom without the shower needs a proper shower cubicle.
- Riaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (7/5): Good - Excellent locations, unfortunately did not see any staff members during our two night stay. Sadly the accommodation, although clean and comfortable does require some TLC. Very dated and needs lots of maintenance.
