- Elliott (10/5): - Dilan at the desk is totally AWESOME and should be given a raise for his excellent service that he provided. Dilan went way above his duties to ensure I was received and had everything I need which is important when you need to rest. He was always checking in with me. I can't describe or tell you how much I appreciated all that Dilan went above and beyond for me. Please let him know this. I need to make more trips up to the Duke Cancer Center and plan to stay there because of the excellent hotel and services like Dilan showed to me. Your hotel sold me for future visits because of Dilan. Thank you, Dilan... There is absolutely no complaints at all I plan to stay there more in the future.
- AMANDA (10/5): - We love how spacious the room was. The beds are extremely comfortable with very soft sheets. I love everything about it! I didnt like that we were only in town for the night.
- Sarah (6/5): Good, but not great. - The location was great. Lots of food places within walking distance. The room was also very spacious and accommodating. The staff wasn't super friendly or welcoming in greetings and interaction. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything around and above. We had to contact the front desk several times because the people above us kept running and stomping, even after midnight. The room door looked like it had been pried open before and we always had to pull it to make sure it actually locked when it was closed. The price for a single night was steep and the mattresses were lumpy and worn.

We were on the 3rd floor and had an absolute elephant stomping on our ceiling all night. It was horrible. I got NO sleep. To top it off, our room was directly beside the stairway!!! Not impressed with the fact that our preferences received no acknowledgement.

- pratibha (2/5): Overpriced Look elsewhere - This Home2 suites by Hilton is a very small hotel. It is not worth $169 a night by any stretch of imagination. We have stayed in other Home2 suites by Hilton. The room and bathroom in Durham hotel were much smaller. The shower had lukewarm water. The drapes did not work and I asked them to be removed. I had to ask the hotel to replace the fridge because It was not very cold. Overall I wasted my money by blindly booking this hotel due to our past good experience in a Home2 suites by Hilton hotel.

The hotel is convenient to Duke and the surrounding area but the hotel itself is aging quickly. The room was okay until using the shower when I saw hair in multiple spots on the walls. The shower definitely had not been cleaned well. The breakfast was mediocre with most items empty and the counters full of bread crumbs. Parking is free but the lot is too small for this hotel as the only spots at night are in front of retail stores across the lot.

All the traffic outside the window, the neighbors beside the room and the room above were super loud starting at 6 am and ending around midnight all 5 nights I was there. That evening, while I was using the hotel’s complimentary laundry facilities—a notable amenity—a night attendant, described as wearing glasses and having little hair, approached me. He questioned me aggressively about the incident, which I have no idea. His behavior was unprofessional, confrontational, and included shouting, which I found distressing. Upon checking out, I reported this issue to a coworker, who informed me that the attendant’s name was likely Mike. I urge the hotel management to address this staff member’s conduct to ensure a more respectful guest experience.

- Ben (4/5): - not a great value for the money spent. noisy, some areas in poor repair. the room i tried to sleep in was noisy (road noise), noisy (hvac in obvious distress), and noisy (a loud, repetitive knocking sound from somewhere down the hall). the ‘breakfast’ is a complete disaster: nearly inedible, confusing arrangement, very limited seating, and the layout ensures you’ll be trampling other guests. there are better hotels with walkable food for less money a block or two away.

- Lynn (8/5): Very good - Good location, clean rooms and nice employees. We are not very picky. But, the breakfast was really bad compared to many other Home2 Suites that we have stayed at. Very small selection, cold and not replenished enough. Area was not maintained and had to ask for coffee, plates and even butter to be refilled.

Service was good and responded well to my notice that the disposall was not working. My wife also appreciated the nice room.

Also, we stayed for 3 days but our room was never service, the maid said we weren’t on her list and the front desk said it is only serviced every other day. Very disappointed in a Hilton property.

AC did not run well, probably due to the early April season, humidity and hard to say warm or chilly. Breakfast run out pretty fast…they might have a busy time. Staffs are great as always!

- Cheryl (10/5): - The room was comfy. I liked the squishy pillows. Most hotels have hard pillows. It was surprisingly quiet at night and in the morning and we slept well. The front desk was friendly.
- April M (4/5): - The place was dirty, under the mattress was a pubic hair and dirt. The seats at the breakfast dining area was so dirty. I took photos of their clean guarantee they have posted near the dining area and the photos of the extremely dirty seats. Unfortunately I didn't get photos under the mattress. Service was good on Saturday and Monday, but Sunday the lady stayed on her tablet at one of the dining tables and didn't even greet you when you come in. The alarm was going off most of the night and during the day.

- Flyer52590961466 (8/5): Clean, Nice Breakfast needs upgrade - The hotel is conveniently located. The staff was great and where very helpful with a noise issue we had. It was clean enough, but definitely is showing some wear and tear on the furniture and carpet. The breakfast could have used some fresh fruit the only option we the Granny Smith apples that are the all the time. Also no English Muffin, just white bread and white bagel. Possibly they were low on supplies but compared to other H2S this one could use an upgrade for sure.

- LISA (2/5): - Not what we have come to expect from a Home2 Suites. Upon check in, we were charged a parking fee of $14/night when Expedia clearly stated parking was free. However, they never asked for a vehicle description or gave us a ticket to put in our car. This was just a miscellaneous “extra” charge. We were given room keys to a door that did not open due to a faulty handle. And, we found out later that this was already known. This was the last 2 queen bed room available. We were offered a king—which we took since it was midnight. No offering of a discount but king rooms were less expensive than the 2 queens. We discovered we couldn’t get anything to come on the TV. I called down to the front desk and she offered absolutely no advice other than saying she’d get someone to come check it in the morning (we were only staying one night). In the morning, my husband realized the only way to watch tv was if you hooked up a laptop as there were no regular tv stations available. There was no hot water for a shower. It was lukewarm at best. The only positive thing I have to say about our stay is bed was comfortable. I plan to contact Expedia about the hidden parking charges. Not that it was a big expense, but we felt it was bogus.

- Cara (7/5): Nice comfy bed but beware of additional fees - Comfortable beds. Well appointed rooms. Great facilities. Good location close to Duke University. Quiet night sleep. I've stayed here a few times now as I come into town for treatment at Duke every other week. Generally I like this hotel much better than a few others we have stayed at. The last stay was a bit surprising because the sofa in the room we stayed in was very dirty. Also, of note is the daily parking and reclamation fee charged by the hotel. I thought the fee was per stay, but turns out it is a nightly fee to park your car in their large parking lot. $13 a night. It's not a huge sum, but after paying $150 a night for a mid-range hotel this additional fee is just a cheap move.

- AnsneM (8/5): Yes- you should stay here - I stayed at this hotel multiple times while receiving care at Duke. It’s extremely convenient to Duke hospital and in a good area for “errands”. There is a Walmart and huge Target right down the road, lots of restaurants, a Barnes and Noble close by and it’s close to I40. The best team there is housekeeping- the rooms and hotel are spotless and they are working all day. The rooms have a microwave/ medium size fridge, dishes, microwave for longer stays. A few rooms that I was assigned needed things (heater was making weird sounds, desk chair wasn’t working) but as soon as I let maintenance know they either fixed it or changed my room, check your room before you unpack. The breakfast is comparable to a Hampton Inn breakfast- maybe a little nicer. Waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, egg sandwiches, etc. Nothing super fancy but it was not awful. Overall it worked great for me. I think the front desk staff and leadership team could focus a little more on the guest, saying Hi when we walk in, not making an annoyed face when we ask for something (like more coffee) offering Diamond members water without me asking, etc. but those are all fixable with some proper leadership and customer service training. I would stay here again.

- Candie (4/5): - The room was very nice, the hotel itself was nice. Front desk seemed to have an attitude. The first night I was there my car got broke into along with 7 other cars. They also make you pay for parking but do not have any security cameras. If I had to guess the hotel workers have something to do with these break ins. They did not care that this happened and you can clearly see the parking lot from the desk. (its a well lit parking lot) So something just seems off that someone was able to break 8 windows and no one heard/saw it from the desk.

Guests can also to their own laundry for free & coffe, tea or hot chocolate are also available for free all day. The only thing that I would suggest is a better variety of breakfast options. There wasn’t much of a choice and the hours were also limited. The hours should be from 6.00-10.00am 7 days a week.
- John (4/5): Not as Advertised - Added charges for parking and something called a "reclamation fee" which the front desk could not explain, only to continue parroting a script was my welcome to this stay. The "separate sitting area" highlighted in the room description was a sleeper sofa separated by a curtain. The breakfast was abysmal, featuring bright green bananas and stale muffins. The stay here was better than sleeping in the car but just barely.

- 612lihanh (2/5): Not a good hotel to stay - I had a terrible experience in this hotel when spending a week during Christmas break. I reserved my stay through Hilton Honors and the price was very good. I checked in and checked out using the Hilton Honors app, totally contactless. When I received my final bill, a whopping close-to $100 “parking and reclamation” was added to the final charge. When I called, both Hilton Honors and hotel manage refused to honor the original quote. Instead, they gave me an email to dispute this charge. The hotel is not in a good shape. The carpet is very old and dirty-looking. The “free” breakfasts were substandard, very dry and overcooked. The basket for used plates was full all the time, and the dishes piled up. Coffee was out most of the time. Some staff members were rude. They gave you a look when you asked for something. On Christmas Day, there was not hot meal.

- PHABC (2/5): Bad experience - We've stayed here several times and were very satisfied. The stay this week was horrible. We had a reservation, checked in, given room keys. We go into the room and the name on the TV is off a few letters from my first name. Didn't think anything of it. After a few hours, I go to log into WIFI and can't. I call down to the front desk to find out what was wrong. I was abruptly asked why I was in that room. From the time we checked in the front desk staff changed. I said we used the soap and hand towels. I was told we had to repack and come back to the front desk for a new room. We were given someone else's room. I could not believe we had to repack and recheck in. The next morning they had no regular coffee. the pot was broke!. The staff was nearly as nice as before.
