La vétusté des chambres et salles de bain. Les chambres donnent ont des verrières qui donnent sur le couloir. Les blattes dans les salles de bains 😅

- Christine (7/5): - Eine sehr liebenswürdige und hilfreiche Mitarbeiterin am Empfang, bei der wir einen Ausflug buchen konnten und die bei Problemen mit der Dusche behilflich war. Das Frühstück war reichlich und lecker. Das Ambiente macht leider den Eindruck, als ob nicht mehr darein investiert wird. Wir hatten das Hotel auch wegen der sehr guten Rezensionen über das angegliederte Mango Garden Restaurant gebucht, aber das gibt es nicht mehr, stattdessen eine Holzofen-Pizzeria, und ab nachmittags sitzt man auf der Veranda im Holzofenrauch.
- Danmimi (7/5): Petit hôtel qui mérite un bon nettoyage et rafraîchissement - Le personnel très à l écoute. Un petit déjeuner excellent . La chambre et la salle de bain n étaient pas propre, si vous marchez pieds nus dans la chambre, je ne vous dit pas la couleur des pieds😫 Le parterre mériterait un sérieux nettoyage, la salle de bain aussi. Et un sérieux rafraîchissement, peintures à refaire.

- Lola (10/5): GÉNIAL!!!! - Nous avons passé un moment incroyable à Mango Garden. Malik, le propriétaire, nous a donnés tous les bons plans du coin et a été très à l’écoute. Il nous a même aidés à prendre nos tickets de train pour Ella alors que tout était complet. Autre point positif, son humour! Son staff est tout aussi adorable. Nimanthi, la réceptionniste nous a parfaitement accueillis. Kana, serveur et chauffeur de tuktuk nous a emmenés à différents endroits en nous donnant pleins de bons tuyaux. Enfin, Nilantha, le chauffeur de van lors de notre excursion, a été tout simplement fabuleux, il nous a donnés pleins d’explications sur les monuments et nous a fait découvrir des endroits magiques (dont un centre de massages ayurvediques ou l’on a eu l’un des meilleurs massages de notre vie!). L’hôtel et les chambres sont simples mais avec tout ce dont vous avez besoin. Les petit-déjeuners sont copieux et très bons! Vous êtes à 10min à pieds du centre ville. Pour conclure nous recommandons à 2000% cet endroit. Merci à tous!
- Isabelle (10/5): Un beau séjour - Le lieu : l’emplacement est idéal pour se déplacer à pied, à 10min du centre. Le charme de la maison qui est atypique, ça nous fait nous sentir dans un autre temps. Petit plus pour les meubles anciens qui sont ravissants et l’atmosphère, on s’y sent comme à la maison. L’accueil si chaleureux et touchant des filles et de Malik. Toujours à l’écoute ou ouvert pour des conseils, c’était très sympa et Malik m’a permis de trouver une solution pour réserver le train de Ella, car à la gare plus possible. Deux excursions avec TukTuk géniales, visite de temples éloignés des circuits touristique et du jardin botanique etc. RAS sauf La chambre est un peu sombre sans fenêtre (bon d’un côté ça évite un peu les moustiques) mais c’est pour y dormir de toute manière. Pour ceux qui ne sont pas habitué la salle de bain de la chambre individuelle est rudimentaire. Mais la période Covid a été bien évidemment un gros trou et néfaste pour certains petits hôtels comme celui-ci. Avoir l’esprit conciliant et ne pas trop lire les avis négatifs :)
- Lutz (9/5): Jederzeit wieder! - Besonders prima waren die Organisation einer Tour in die Knuckles sowie die kurzfristige Besorgung eines Zugtickets nach Nuwara Eliya (inklusive unserer Fahrräder) durch den sehr netten und hilfsbereiten Besitzer Malik - soweit wir beurteilen können, war das auch ziemlich aufwendig.... Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und umfangreich. nichts

The breakfast was very good, the rooms and facilities were spotless, and the location is excellent — just a short walk from the city center. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. A special mention to Malik, who knows the region inside out, can easily arrange activities, and speaks French — something we really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend this place.

- Caroline (9/5): - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel idéalement situé : le lac est à environ 5 minutes à pied et le centre-ville à un petit quart d’heure, ce qui permet de tout faire facilement sans transport. Les espaces communs sont très agréables et invitent à la détente après une journée de visites. Le restaurant est une belle surprise : la cuisine locale est savoureuse et, pour varier un peu, ils proposent même de délicieuses pizzas, parfaites pour faire une petite pause entre deux currys ! L’accueil a été remarquable : l’hôtel est venu nous chercher directement à l’arrêt de bus en tuktuk, ce qui a été très appréciable. Nous avons également eu la chance de rencontrer Malik, un francophone charmant et plein d’attentions, qui nous a donné de précieux conseils sur notre programme et organisé pour nous quelques excursions mémorables. Un grand merci à lui et à toute son équipe ! La chambre est simple mais dispose de tout le nécessaire : un ventilateur est inclus et la climatisation est disponible en supplément. Bref, une adresse chaleureuse et pratique que nous recommandons vivement !

- Usha (3/5): Not worth the cheap budget! - The location was ideal. Here’s an improved version of your text: The condition of the place was poor and very run-down. Posters advertising excursions were plastered everywhere, constantly in your face. I requested to leave as soon as I arrived, but they refused to refund me, despite their policy allowing cancellations at any time. The Wi-Fi was completely unreliable, which is a major issue for remote workers like myself. Hot water was inconsistent. I had booked a room with an en-suite, but the bathroom was actually located outside the room and shared with other guests. It was not cleaned between my stays, and the smell from the bathroom was unbearable. The layout of the property made it incredibly noisy; you could hear everything, including the sound of rain falling on the plastic roof.

Mosquito net was not very nice/practical. To use the AC you pay 10$ extra per night. Overall we've stayed in better places for the same price in Sri Lanka.

Cannot recommend at all. Property very badly maintained. Room windows couldn't close, shower didn't work, room full of sand when arriving, cockroach in the room. Extremely overpriced, by far most worse price/quality ratio I've seen in Sri Lanka. Use of AC 5 USD per night.

Completely dirty, there was pee on the toilet seat, the bedsheets had weird stains and smell and the worst of all was the inexplicable amount of mold everywhere in the room, we both woke up sick and couldn't breath. Even though we had paid for 2 nights we preferred to skip the second one and book a different place.

Big - Everything is made to make your stay the most comfortable and smooth as possible. Malik is a great host and always tries his best to arrange you and find you the best plans !!

The room I was in was good enough for a day, maybe I would have picked a bigger room if I stayed longer. The terrace is very nice and it’s close to the city center (about 10 minutes to get to the train station by Tuk Tuk). The seperate bathroom weren’t attached to the room and I had to take a corridor to get there but it’s close to the room anyway.

Contact them about booking your train ticket as they can organise for cheap so you don’t get ripped off by online websites!!! They also upgraded us to a nicer room for free as it was quiet.

Food was expensive but with a very good reason: they buy the best produce and don't re-use the cooking oil. Next to that, the food inflation in Sri Lanka also contributes to the price. Easy walk to the city centre and we were happy we weren't staying in the city centre. Lounge spots weren't super comfortable. Wifi didn't reach up till the room

- Verified traveler (6/5): Verryyyy basic - Stayed in the standard double room for our 2 night stay in Kandy. Wifi in restaurant was poor, only other public area was their front desk room with only 1 couch and 2 chairs, ovbiously not enough. Our room didnt come close to looking like the pictures shown. We had a really old desk fan, no ceiling fan! It was hot to say the least. Im pretty sure they put us up in the staff quarters up the back as walking around, the rooms that were part of the main building were different. Maybe those rooms are offered to tourist that walk by and are charged higher price. Bedding was clean i guess. No real positives about the room. We werent able to get train tickets to kandy however one of the staff was able to get some reserved seating ones on the day, extra 1000 rupees of course added for this service. Restaurant was decent, nothing to rave about. Front desk people barely there. Had we received a room like what we thought we had paid for, perhaps this would be a better review for them. Would not recommend this place. Theres a rooftop bar in the hotel across the street
- Pamela (10/5): Nice little guesthouse good location - Very friendly and helpful. No WiFi in my room only in public areas but that was fine. Good breakfast didn’t eat there in the evening. Good quiet location. Would recommend for the price good cake for money.
- Lexie (8/5): Simple, Safe and Comfortable - Located up the hill off the main lake road, the location is quiet but easily accesible. My room was spacious and extremely clean. The bedding was in good shape and after an exhausting few days of travel I slept very well. As a solo female traveller I felt safe here. There was a nice big fan and mosquito net in the room, although the latter wasn't required. The bathroom is basic, but again very clean and sufficient. The shower was decent enough and there was hot water. There is a nice terrace and small resturant serving throughout the day. I found the Sri Lankan meals better than the others - had a great vegetable curry with generous servings and delicious hoppers, dhal and sambal for breakfast. European breakfast is also on offer and isn't too bad. If you pay a few dollars more the breakfast is included with your room. The little resident squirrel shared my left over sambal. There are a number of tuk tuks and other drivers available to take tours if you're into that. I didn't use their services as all places in and around Kandy are accesible by public transport - much more fun! This is a budget hotel so you cannot expect luxury or to get additional services like food and tours for free. I found everything was as expected for the price and thought it was one of the best hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka in this price range. I would stay again if I came back to Kandy and would recommend to others for sure.

- Uta (6/5): Einfaches Hotel in guter Lage - Das Hotel liegt zentral, aber ruhig, die Zimmer sind einfach und sauber, zum Teil geräumig, die Bäder teilweise mit Schimmelbefall. Die Zimmer werden auf Wunsch jederzeit gereinigt. Restaurant und Dachterrasse sehr gemütlich, leider wurde die Aussicht vom Hotelneubau gegenüber verbaut. Der Besitzer, Malik, bietet gute,günstige Touren an. Insgesamt für den Preis eine ordentliche Unterkunft.
- Esther (8/5): Underwhelming - The room definitely feel budget and the hotel itself is a bit of a warren with stairs going everywhere. The terrace and restaurant are comfortable and have good wifi which the room doesn't. All in all this hotel is underwhelming.

- Gretchen (6/5): Kandy is Overpriced - The room was overpriced--dark with lots of noise due to the way it faced the interior. None of the alternative choices were any better. The staff were very nice and helpful though.

Hotelli onnistuu alittamaan riman lähes jokaisessa majoitusliikkeen toiminnan osa-alueessa. Koko fasiliteetin kunto on heikko. Huoneessa ja kylpyhuoneessa ei ollut sänkyä lukuunottamatta mikään kunnossa: viemärit rohisivat, ovet ja hyllyt olivat vinksallaan, kylpyhuoneen ovea oli lähes mahdotonta saada hakaan jne. Aamiainen oli onneton - pöydän vaatimattomat antimet olivat koko ajan lopussa, kahvi kelvotonta ja maut kaikkea muuta kuin kohdallaan (paitsi pannukakku). Huoneesta maksettu hinta on rosvousta. En ole montaa kertaa kymmenien vuosien aikana matkustellessani joutunut maksamaan vastaavaa hintaa näin huonotasoisesta majoituksesta.
