- Dylan (2/5): - Hallway and room were very musty. A/C in room was filthy, smelt horrible, and could not be used. The bed sloped off to one side and should be replaced. Considered leaving in the middle of the night to find comfortable accommodations.
- Darren (4/5): - We stayed on the third-floor of the main house; it was probably one of the worst rooms we have ever stayed in over 30 years of traveling. The room was run down and the bathroom was a joke. The bathroom was makeshift and dirty. This old house has potential. However, the room we were provided should not be rented out until it receives a major make-over.

Aircon wasnt working and there's no reception so you dont wanna go hassle the owners in their cottage all the time. - Verified traveler (4/5): Old doesn’t have to mean run down. - This place has a world of potential. Beautiful location and layout. But the rooms full of mold, rust, bugs (fork tails) and a large slug (pic below) and because of all of that the smell of mildew was very strong. Never met anyone to check in or check out. Really a shame and way overpriced for the motel 6 quality.

- Michael (10/5): - We made a last minute reservation at the Copper Swan and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The property is old but beautifully maintained and clean. Short walk into Wellfleet center for shopping and activities. We had dinner at Wicked Oyster which is right next door. We will be back..!!

We are in our 80s and like to read at night, so the owner replaced the 60 watt bulbs with 100 watt ones and brought in a floor lamp, which was very welcome! The owner also personally helped when the internet password provided didn’t work. One of the attractions posted for this property was that a breakfast basket would be provided outside the door in the mornings, but this was changed so that breakfast would be served in their restaurant,which was just opened. The offerings were limited because it was just opening, and we didn’t find much that met our need for low-fat low-cholesterol diet (the oatmeal in the menu wasn’t yet available). I think most people would have enjoyed the standard breakfast items they offered. The restaurants and shopping nearby were great. The Wicked Oyster is excellent and literally next door. Mac’s Shack is a few blocks away and deservedly very popular. The main building where we stayed is decorated with charming pictures and furniture, and there are chairs on the screened in porch and lawn furniture. Our king size bed was comfortable, though a bit high, so we had to learn to get up into it and slide down to get out!
- sandy (4/5): Not great. - It was a smelly garage turned into a room. There was a bad smell of mildew and I got sick. There were bugs in the room and a window ac that left open space for insects. Owners left a cute breakfast basket. Never any wifi to access.

- Jarrod (8/5): - The place was exactly what you'd expect staying in an old home like this. My only complaint was the bed. I don't know if it was the floors or the actual bed itself, but it leaned to one side like the supports underneath were broken. Luckily it was a solo trip for me, if i was sharing the bed it definitely would have been a problem.

John noticed that I had mobility problems and, on his own initiative, moved my wife and me to a room that was more accessible than the one we had booked. John also gave us some good dining tips. A very nice person in every way.
- Paul (4/5): - I rarely write negative reviews. This place deserves a negative review. I stayed in the Carriage House. Temperature 61-63 degrees. No way to heat it. Breakfast came for one rather than two. It was a rotten banana and a muffin. There is no front desk or attendant. When we complained to the groundskeeper, the only person around. He said, if we had complained earlier, we would have been given a heater. It was rainy and cold outside. No one thought to give us a heater. If you have to complain to get normal things, there is something wrong with the place.

The owners are excellent and my stay was top tier due to the care they put into small details. If you’re in Wellfleet definitely stay here.
- Rhianne (8/5): - A hotel with style and character. Original features and decorated with quality and tasteful furniture. Lovely deck and seating outside. As it’s an old refurbished building the rooms are attractive but fairly small. Breakfast is delivered to the room but there is no small table to sit at so a bit awkward to eat. Fine in good weather as you can take it to the deck.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Not thrilled - Very strange stay from beginning to end. I spent time looking at the venue and looking at rooms based on size and quietness of location on property. My partner and I settled on the carriage house because it would be away from the main house. A few days later I had few missed calls ans a text from "John at the copper swan in" confirming I would not be bringing a dog with me. I was really thrown off because I do have 2 dogs, but planned to leave them at home. John said no problem he would upgrade us to a king Suite, and I said no problem if it had the same over 200sq footage and I stressed that. When I arrive there was no one to greet us, but papers with info on room #, a key, wifi information, and that a breakfast basket would be provided in the AM. I went up the main house to the room and it was TINY I did not the the sq ft I wanted and the room was in the middle of the main house. I went down to get things sorted and John was really snippy and rude about the situation. He did e d up putting me in the room I booked originally in the carriage house. What I later realized is he was trying to accommodate extra guests that had pets as the main house is not pet friendly. We were bringing our toddler and needed the space for her pack and play and to roam around. The outside of the carriage house is stunning, but the inside was disgusting. Dead bugs in every corner (see photos). You can see that the room never received a good cleaning.

- David (8/5): - Overall very pleased with my stay, friendly staff, room/property very clean. Only issue was the check in/out was not clearly explained and I initially had trouble finding my room prior to asking a staff member and they were still cleaning it upon check in time which delayed my plans. I was on the third floor and you could feel the heat radiating from the ceiling which made it HOT. Luckily I was out of the room till late and getting back/overnight the AC was able to cool it down but it was unpleasant upon arrival. That aside, I would recommend staying here and would again!

I appreciated the morning breakfast every day for our adventures outside. AC worked good. More of a self sere hotel limited staff around but they are friendly, welcoming and busy working when I saw them. Wish these new owner much luck with the updates for years to come. I can tell they want to make it a lasting property.

- Hilary (10/5): - The Copper Swan is a beautiful Cape Cod property on the outskirts of Wellfleet, just off the main highway. Our room was compact but had plenty of storage space and, with two windows, was flooded with natural light. The bathroom had an old fashioned freestanding bath with the shower over it. Our host was friendly and gracious and there was plenty of parking. It was delightful to drink a glass of wine on the veranda as the sun was setting.
- Krystal (10/5): - Charming stay in Wellfleet! Close to center and main route to get to other cape areas easily. Clean and cozy room. Wonderful breakfast basket provided at the door every morning and housekeeping daily. Had a very restful stay here!
- Pedro (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at the Copper Swan! I have no complaints and can’t wait to return sometime soon. I couldn’t figure out the A/C in my room but 3days we stayed were quite cool so that was not a problem, and I am sure if I had called for help someone would be able to assist me. - john (10/5): - A beautiful Cape Cod inn set just as you enter Wellfleet town. Built some 200 years ago the lobby is full of its storied past and the rooms have great linens and we stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms. It’ll be our go to spot on the Outer Cape going forward.

- Christine (8/5): Nice, quaint historic Inn - It was well worth it for our purpose. We stayed one night and it was comfortable, clean and warm.
- Elena (4/5): - The property was not as advertised. We were told our room was "rustic," but told that was OK because "you're only staying a couple days." We found the room to be unfinished. The room had no smoke detector, either--definitely unsafe for that reason. An advertised "lounge" on the property was boarded up with broken windows, apparently having sustained a fire (!). If the room hadn't been prepaid, we would have left.

- Patricia (10/5): - The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating! The location was great, close to restaurants,beaches, and shops. Our room was comfortable, and it is a beautiful, old inn.
- David (8/5): - The Wagner is a beautiful hotel. The facilities and grounds are excellent with areas outside to relax which we really enjoyed. Take a drink to the terrace or relax on the outdoor furniture in the garden! Mosquito repellant was on hand for guests to use which was a nice touch! The service from John the owner was personal, friendly and caring. He was helpful with recommendations and made the overall experience staying at The Wagner enjoyable. There are challenges daily with the property for the owners, having taken over the place fairly recently (as we understand this was very run down before) but they are handling this with care and continuously upgrading and making improvements! Housekeeping is an area to improve. Our room wasnt made up on one of the days when we asked for this to be done, but John personally apologised to us and made sure this was rectified but they still missed out a few details, no coffee refills, cups not replaced etc. But this didnt tarnish our enjoyment of our stay. Breakfast was delicious and a nice suprise as we didnt realise there would be any! It is a help yourself counter with fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, a delicious egg casserole and a french toast casserole. Juice, water and tea and coffee also on hand. My suggestion to enhance this experience would be to put a few more tables for breakfast outside to create a bit more space. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and would return. Highly recommended and the location is perfect to explore the cape

- Mary (6/5): Old n quirky with a lil charm - Nobody at the desk during our 2 day stay, no staff insight- which dont bother me any but may be a turn off for some. Someone left out rotting fruit in the kitchen and there was a bad smell the whole 1st day. The room was clean and comfy with 4 pillows per beds and enough towels. You have to appreciate old buildings to enjoy this place with its crooked floors and cracking plaster walls. No doubt there's lots of old inn quirks, I mean charm. The room and lav is small with no tv in the room. I was worth the cheap rate but I'd be upset if I paid the full price rate and it was a decent nights sleep. Wish there was a tv.

- Dean (10/5): - New friendly owners are 6 weeks in and this was opening wkd. Loved the tasteful and artistic decor. The home prepared breakfast was outstanding and beautifully presented in the quaint dining room. Excellent restaurant, next door but one, that we dined at on our first night. The owners have great knowledge of the area for recommendations. They have further plans for in room titivating. Beautiful picturesque location backing onto a large pond with active bird life. As an historic house, the walls are thin, so you will hear voices now and then. This doesn’t distract from having a great time. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for friendly relaxed hosts in a stylish semi rural setting. Plenty to see and do in the area with a short 20 min drive to Provincetown.

- Ann (2/5): - Very disappointed. We never met the owners. No one greeted us, a key was left in the door. The TV and WiFi didn’t work. The bed was horrible!!!! The room was musty. We left after out 1st night. Unfortunately, the reservation was not reimbursable.
- Gregory (8/5): Great location - Older Victorian that needs some work. Convenient to everything. Comfortable bed. Had to fight with the door to get in and out each day as it was sticking pretty bad.

There are interesting and quirky details exposed by the remodel of the old house into an inn. It’s a good location, nice natural surroundings. Good access to downtown Wellfleet and further north to Provincetown.
